[Q] Browing/extracting from Android recovery <3e> userdata_YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.backup
I've got a Memo pad 7HD (ME173X) that won't boot (circling dots after the ASUS boot logo)
So I've come to the conclusion I'll try to factory reset / full flash (sp_tool).
I've successfully make a backup using the stock recovery <3e> and I got a userdata_YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.backup file. (I did it twice to ensure the file was OK ok the flash)
Now before going the hard way, I'd like to check this backup ! Any clue on how to do so ?
FYI, some details about what I've tried do far: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58053689&postcount=9
anyone having any idea / any leads where to look for some information ?

I stupidly tried flashing a Mini OTA Rom (GB). Luckily I was able to get most stuff back, however I seem to have these problems.
1. When I reflash to a Rom I boot into recovery mode and can't get passed that
2. When I try to wipe cache or factory reset from stock recovery menu I get the following error "(unknown error: 0) rc=0)"
3. When I fix the booting issue by reflashing usually system.rfs or csc.rfs I can no longer access recovery menu
4. I no longer see an image when in Downloading mode, and quite frequently see a white screen on startup or while in download mode
What I'm hoping is that someone has a nand backup or some other sort of backup of the mibib, qcsbl, and oemsbl. I get the feeling that I really only need mibib and maybe qcsbl. (however I still have no idea what mibib does I've been out of android since the G1 was still RC30)

Err the cause of this problem is most probably because u flashed the wrong rom or firmware. Try going to download mode, and flashing stock rom.
This is after reflashing back to Stock 2.2.1 for the Samsung Dart T-Mobile USA ver "T499UVKE4-T499UVKE4-T499UVKE4-HOME"
Hi guys,
I just flashed the _AllianceROM_JellyBean XXLSC_ALpha1 via rom customizer from JB RocketRom V1. I am now stuck at samsung boot screen and i can't access my nandroid backups generated using CWM as the TWRP doesn't detact them . I would really appreciate if some1 could tell me how can i solve this problem.
Thanks!
Have you tried doing a factory reset?
Use odin and download mode to go back to any stock rom as a second option
I didn't have the chance to enable usb debugging before this happen. Is there any other solutions for this?
Why do you need adb? Boot into recovery and do a resrt

Stuck at samsung boot screen (the one with samsung logo and NOT galaxy note) is called bootloop
You need a fresh new system, try the following:
1- reboot into recovery (Home + Power + Volume UP)
2- Install a safe kernel - I recommend (Abyss GB Kernel)
3- In recovery >> Advanced >> reboot Recovery
4- when it boots up, do Factory Reset/Data Wipe 3 times
5- Do Cache wipe 3 times
6- Go to Advanced & do Dalvik Cache wipe 3 times
7- Go to Mounts & Storage & do FORMAT SYSTEM
8- Go to Mounts & Storage & do FORMAT PRELOAD
9- Now, Re-Flash Alliance ROM & Reboot - The ROM should come with its own Kernel
Furthermore, it is best if you did your nandroid backups in CWM just before installing a new ROM and while being on Abyss kernel (or whatever safe kernel you're intending to use) to avoid MD5 Checksum failure when restoring
Also, I would recommend you do MD5 Checksum on the Alliance ROM zip file and make sure it matches the one in the thread (you'll find it in the OP, almost always next to the download link - I use MD5Check for windows
P.S. If you can't get into recovery, you got a brick issue, refer to brick threads
Best of luck
Hey all
I'm posting this because i haven't found any posts similar.
I have a rooted galaxy ace 5380i and recently i decided i wanted to change my rom ( i was on Gingerbread)
So first i needed to flash a cwm recovery zip. I did but since then the phone won't boot. I can access recovery mode but it's the system recovery mode. I can only enter clockworkmod recovery by installing it. As soon i switch the phone off it puts it back to system recovery. I tried flashing different versions but they all came up with status 7 error Installation aborted... I also tried flashing roms directly but with no success.. Please help me out here, i'm in a lot of trouble without a phone..

Hallo together,
I seem to have done something wrong while trying to flash the rom "RazRi_JB_X-2014-Jul-16".
Here is what i did:
- Unlocked to bootloader using official Motorola homepage
- Flashed CWM (non-touch) recovery using "Recovery Flasher by LeBobo v1.7", USB-Debugging was on
- Rebooted into bootloader and flashed "RAZRiRoot2" to prevent Stock-ROM from overwriting the recovery
- Tried to install the Custom ROM using CWM, but it fails to wipe cache (stuck on line "Formatting /cache")
Because it didn't work, i tried to reset everything as it was before to be able to try again - flashed stock-recovery using the Recovery Flasher by LeBobo, booted into bootloader and selected "Factory". The cell is now just showing the "Warning bootloader unlocked" warning and nothing else happens.
When i try to select the recovery in the bootloader menu, an image of a Android laying on its back with an opened hatch and a red warning symbol showing a "!" appears and nothing else happens.
I seem to have bricked my device, because i cant't really do anything now - is there any solution?
I read through different topics but could not find a real solution to this particular problem...
Thank you so much in advance for your help!
It's not bricked
At the moment u enter stock recovery with that android and red warning sy,bol, u need to press bot volume up + downp. Than it will enter stock recovery mode.
Those are the following things u can do to get custom rom,
1. Flash another recovery, cwm touch, cwm non-touch, twrp. They all work a little different.
2. Flash the custom rom and wipe everything, The wip can take some time. sometimes it will be seconds, sometimes it will take a couple of minutes. Every recovery behaves different, and every flash/wipe too.
3. enjoy
If u really want to go back to stock, flash your stock JB firmware by RSD-Lite.
Thank you very much for your answer. I restored the stock rom using RSD Lite and did a clean install of TWRP.
Then I did a Factory Reset and started to install the custom ROM.
The TWRP is now stuck at "Flashing File 1 of 1 /external_sd/RazRi_JB_X-2014-Jul-16.zip".
Is it normal that it takes more than five minutes or is something going wrong here? Is there something i forgot?

5 minutes is a bit too much. But that's the problem with this device. Every device behaves different and we haven't found out a solution too it.
At the moment i can't do much for you. I can only say try to wipe the partitions mannualy. Wipe system, data and cache. and mount system. And then try to install it. Maybe if that doesnt do the trick try again another recovery.
This from KTR-ROM
Code:
- Enter in TWRP or CWM
- Wipes required: data, system, cache y dalvik
*In CWM mount system must format before (Mount and storage -> Mount system)
Thanks again - that was it.
For some reason, TWRP did not automatically wipe the system-partition. It had to be mounted + wiped manually.
Not the custom ROM is up and running well. Installation took 35 minutes for some reason though...
