[Q] Need help for bricked Razr i / firmware links - RAZR i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Forum,
as a newbie in Razr i I tried today to unblock my Bootloader and of course made an error during this
I downloaded the file "RAZRi_Root_Linux.zip" from user "mattlgrof".
Unpacked it and run the file "Root.sh".... yes I know. I have read the HowTo, but ...I don't know what I thought!?
And of course the shell said reboot and the phone stuck on the red Motorola logo
Looking into the file, I saw that the last command executed was:
"sudo $fastboot flash boot ./files/razr_i_boot_insecured.img"
And the output was:
"< waiting for device >
sending 'boot' (11264 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.657s]
writing 'boot'...
FAILED (remote: Preflash validation failed)
finished. total time: 2.021s
rebooting...
finished. total time: 0.240s
Phone is rebooting please dont touch anything."
As I have read until know I could restore the phone by installing a astock firmware via RSD, right?
But in the last 5! hours I couldn't find a valid link for a firmware download.
So my question/request are:
- Can I solve this by installing a stock ROM via RSD?
- Can someone provide me an link to a firmware download?
The specs of my phone:
- European ( germany), unbranded
- OTA update to JB 4.1.2
- previously rooted with windows using a "android trick", I don't exactl remember how
If you need more information, please ask.
Thank you in advance, and have a nice day.
Kind regards.
giderBey

Since you are German, you can follow this how-to: http://www.android-hilfe.de/anleitu...owto-razr-i-mit-rsd-lite-flashen-windows.html
It also includes mirrors to the firmware
Once you are back to stock, you can use this root method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541398 and no bootloader unlock is needed.

Cant install recovery / can't unlock [Xperia Z]

I Unlocked someones Xperia Z and installed Cyanogenmod and TWRP on it some time ago. It was too unstable for their liking so they reset it to its stock settings using Sony Emma (or whatever its called).
Well now that they've got a nexus 6P, they've given the Xperia Z to me, so i tried to install TWRP and i get errors trying to overwrite the recovery.
Upon inspection of the bootloader lock settings i found it to say "bootloader unlockable: Yes", which indicates it is unlockable but not yet unlocked, and it continues to say this no matter how many times i attempt to unlock it.
Below is a demonstration attempt to unlock the phone and install TWRP:
Code:
[email protected] ~/Desktop $ sudo fastboot oem unlock 0xC431F679A4E1ECEB
...
OKAY [ 0.408s]
finished. total time: 0.408s
[email protected] ~/Desktop $ sudo fastboot erase recovery
erasing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.002s
[email protected] ~/Desktop $ sudo fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
sending 'recovery' (10656 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.337s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.339s
[email protected] ~/Desktop $ sudo fastboot flash boot twrp.img
sending 'boot' (10656 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.337s]
writing 'boot'...
OKAY [ 0.563s]
finished. total time: 0.900s
I've also tried it using flashtool on Windows and similarly it doesn't work.
I can't understand why it would work the first time, but now that its been factory reset the unlock doesn't work.
Have you tried with Xperia z dual recovery? (XZ dual-recovery) . It's very simple to install, for more info please refer to the official thread.

To do that i'd need a custom recovery, and i can't install one because the bootloader is locked and there is no recovery present on the device.
EDIT: ah i just saw the install exploit for unrooted devices. I'll give it a shot.
Didn't work unfortunately :/
I wasn't able to to use dual recovery to unlock the phone.
I downloaded and then installed a 10.3.x.x version of a stock xperia Z rom using flashtool, then i ran the dual recovery setup. EVERY operation reported that the file or folder didn't exist, and that the install had failed.
I was able to root the phone using Root Genius. I then installed TWRP manager and tried to install TWRP from there (this worked on that phone before), but it corrupted the rom so now it just freezes and restarts on the boot animation.
Recovering with Emma does not relock the bootloader. So bootloader should still be unlocked. Recovering with Emma also removes root so you need to root your device before you can install a custom recovery.
Sent from my E6653 using XDA-Developers mobile app
You are indeed right! although the problem appeared to be a locked bootloader at first, it now appears it was a corrupted recovery partition.
I, again, set the phone to a stock 10.1.x.x ROM (it was still corrupted from last time so i had to reset it again using Sony Emma) using flashtool and rooted using Root Genius. I then tried to use flashify to install XZ-dual-recovery but it told me the recovery partition was missing.... so i searched around and found the cure to my woes may be DooMKernel, so i set it up, and everything fell into place from there! below is how i believe it worked:
1. Used fastboot on my PC to install DooMKernel v22 as per the official page instructions
2. successfully booted into TWRP
3. used TWRP to install XZ-dual-recovery
4. successfully booted into CWM recovery
5. used CWM recovery to format all internal paritions
6. used CWM to install ROM and root
Thank you everyone for your help!
My xperia z has the 5.1.1 rom and is rooted.
The boot loader is locked and I couldn´t unlock it.
I cannot get into recovery with PC, neither with the buttons.
I like to install a custom 6.0 rom.
any suggestion?
thxs in advance for your support.

[HELP] Moto X2 Problem after wrong root file

Good evening guys...
I have a Moto X 2nd gen (XT1097) with Stock Retail BR Rom and it was working like a charm till this morning.
I received a notification of an OTA Update (security patch) and I wanted to patch the phone...
I know a rooted phone (like mine) could not receive OTA Updates, so I flashed stock rom again with RDSLite like I always do.
The problem occured when I try to root it... I picked a wrong file to flash with the TWRP and cel got stucked in the boot logo.
When I try to flash the Firmware stock 6.0 in the RDSLite, It returns a error like that:
Code:
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
sending 'partition' (32 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.004s]
writing 'partition'...
(bootloader) Preflash validation failed
FAILED (remote failure)
finished. total time: 0.083s
I asked a friend of mine that have the same device and the version of his bootloader is 60.18 (sha-3b3b501 ... )
my bootloader, after I fuc*ed the device is 60.00 (sha-130760b ... )...
I can still turn on device, can flash the firmware if I erase gpt and motoboot lines from flashfile.xml but I cannot OTA and root, got some errors!
Anyone knows something about that? Can I try to downgrade to solve? Anyone knows this bootloader version???
Sorry about english...
I tried every ROM (4.4.4, 5.0, 5.1 and 6.0) and all of them returns the message "version downgraded for primary_gpt"... FU*K this SH*T!!!!
My bootloader is at 60.00 version and I really need to put the 60.18 version... How to do that?

Help with unbricking

Hi,
My friend's Moto G 2nd Gen (XT1068) stopped working all of a sudden couple of days back. When she tried to boot it, it went to bootloader screen (AP Fastboot Flash Mode) and none of the options work in the menu there. The phone had locked bootloader with stock firmware, so no customizations there. I thought may be something got corrupt in the firmware so I tried flashing stock firmware today, followed the instructions from 2 different posts -
1) https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/official-stock-firmware-t3018682
2) https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/official-stock-firmware-5-0-2-lxb22-46-t3019612
However, both of them gave me errors like below for all steps:
Code:
>fastboot devices
ZX1D63BLC6 fastboot
>mfastboot.exe flash partition gpt.bin
target max-sparse-size: 256MB
sending 'partition' (32 KB)...
OKAY [ 5.007s]
writing 'partition'...
(bootloader) Failed to write primary GPT.
(bootloader) Failed to program partition table
FAILED (remote failure)
finished. total time: 10.277s
Irrespective of what and how I try, I get failed error every time. Can someone please help me here?
Thanks.

Hey bro i had a similar error when trying to relock my phone after trying some customs roms.
I think it's same problem, it's the firmware version.
Recently Moto G 2014 had an update and if you use old firmware you had these errors, i suggest not to continue.
Some days ago new firmware has been published here: http://www.filefactory.com/folder/c6cdedc45a775d27/
XT1068_TITAN_RETAILDSDS_6.0_MPB24.65-34-3_cid7_CFC.xml.zip
http://www.filefactory.com/file/3lc...RETAILDSDS_6.0_MPB24.65-34-3_cid7_CFC.xml.zip
If you look, firmware is 24.65-34-3 and it's that "-3" that makes the difference!
Try to reflash with this firmware.

[Stock ROM][Applied 1 October OTA Update]Trying to get TWRP custom recovery flashed

Hello. So, I got my Moto G5s Plus around the last week of October or beginning of November. It is a great device, but I learned about the camera flaws by Motorola and unlocked the bootloader to fix it by following this XDA thread here for camera fixing and the Chromatix mod. I learned that I could edit build.prop without flashing the TWRP recovery but using it temporarily following the guide here. build.prop edit would enable cam2api for third party cam apps. The Chromatix mod threads/posts were for the G5 Plus, which I didn't realize at the time and didn't backup original Chromatix files. However, That went successfully and I could still use my phone with better camera quality. Note that prior to doing this fix and before unlocking the bootloader (I believe) I had updated my device from Nougat to Oreo. My bootloader is indeed unlocked.
Now, when the 1 October OTA Update came I was hesitent because I had came across some rooting/custom rom/custom recovery/mod articles while learning about unlocking the bootloader. Yet and before reading more to get educated on this, I applied the update to my phone. I was hoping it wouldn't brick it or that it would fail if it didn't work. It failed (because of the modification on the stock ROM) at the last bit of the update and rebooted my phone. My phone worked and it let me know nothing was changed by the failed update. However, my phone since then has shown as if it is up-to-date in system updates.
So, basically I have been trying to flash TWRP for my Moto G5s Plus after that was done. I want to see about backing up my stock ROM (or the most important parts) possibly getting a good custom ROM installed (which I believe they have their own official Android security updates from Google?). However flashing TWRP hasn't worked. I get the following in PowerShell (cmd):
PS C:\Android SDK\platform-tools> fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Sending 'recovery' (10236 KB) OKAY [ 0.407s]
Writing 'recovery' (bootloader) Image not signed or corrupt
OKAY [ 0.172s]
Finished. Total time: 0.594s
Note that I renamed twrp-3.1.1-sanders.img to twrp.img as it was a suggestion I followed at the time. This I heard is normal, but when I go to Recovery Mode on my phone I see this:
Start Up Failed:
Repair message stuff
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (Secure)
Fastboot Reason: UTAG *bootmode* configured as fastboot
~~~
Error: failed to load kernel!
~~~
I also tried to find the latest stock ROM to flash because I believe I read I may need to do that. I found SANDERS_RETAIL_8.1.0_OPSS28.65-36-3_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip and tried to use "Apply update from ADB" from the stock Recovery (when it was working normally after powering off and not with kernel errors because of this). It failed.
I couldn't find the right answer(s). Thank you to anyone that can help me or others who have done the same!!
EDIT (11/19/2018):
So, last night I tried wiping my data in stock recovery and then I tried to do this again. It still didn't work. I also tried to apply the same stock zip as well as boot_magisk.img from this thread here https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g5s-plus/development/stock-kernel-prerooted-8-1-0-t3863301.
PS C:\Android SDK\platform-tools> fastboot flash boot boot_magisk.img
Sending 'boot' (10702 KB) OKAY [ 0.391s]
Writing 'boot' (bootloader) Image not signed or corrupt
OKAY [ 0.141s]
Finished. Total time: 0.563s
It all still fails. However, now when I boot up my phone it goes straight to the bootloader instead of loading the OS right away. I can select START to start the phone normally from there.
I got all this resolved through XDA's Telegram group (& specific group for G5s Plus/sanders)! I have TWRP (Treble) and custom rom working after getting an official stock rom from them flashed using fastboot commands!
I don't know if I should or a mod can close/erase this thread now?
Try typing fastboot oem fb_mode_clear while in bootloader

Thanks for the suggestion/tip. I will probably try that if I reflash twrp treble (or another version of twrp for Sanders) again. This has been resolved.
