I ended up unlocking my boot loader , flashing TWRP, and rooting, and installing Titan Prime V1.0.5 on my XT1064 MOTO G 2014. I wanna unroot have stock recovery and be on Android Lollipop with the ability to get OTA. A little guidance on the process would be helpful!
Use the full-unroot function of superSU and restore to stock 4.4.4 / flash stock recovery.
You can try this tool:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/development/windows-tool-moto-g-2014-xt1064-restore-t2957167
or do it with fastboot;

no need to relock bootloader.

Yes Motorola unlock bootloader website, after you unlock you need to flash twrp 4.4 recovery with Motorola fastboot( mfastboot) mfastboot flash recovery twrp 2.6.3.1-ghost-4.4.img and then put supersu on the sdcard and fire up recovery and install supersu and welcome to the root club
Edit you can not flash or accept the ota with a custom recovery, it will bootloop, but you have options, 1 reinstall stock recovery or flash system and stock recovery if you have altered the system. 2 flash a updated sbf firmware , they are available soon after the ota's come out. I would suggest the later as some people, including me have had issues flashing twrp after accepting a ota

Hey, what type of mtoo x did you get your wife? the regular moto x or a developers edition? I currently have a developers edition and I believe that I just have to install custom recovery and install SU since the dev edition already have an unlocked bootloader, right? what I want to do is buy a custom moto x (non-dev edition) and root it. Is that possible?
I was running a rooted rom and my bootloader is unlocked.
But i wanted to flash the 5.1 ota.
So I was trying to flash the stock image so that I could unroot and flash the 5.1 ota.
I used the Moto X Multitool and used option 4:
flash back to total stock unrooted rom and recovery-full-wipe
How do I flash a rom? It doesn't matter what. I don't want to send it back to Motorola.
Adb is working but fastboot is not working.
EDIT:
I rebooted into the bootloader and flashed TWRP.
Everything is working perfect again
Now I'm stuck in this recovery screen:
Can you get back into the bootloader and did you try doing a factory reset?
Is there a guide to installing a custom recovery and ROM to the XT1096 now after the official bootloader unlock? I just did it and wanna play around with new ROMs now.
Before you do anything with your phone, download and keep the stock firmware for it, in case something goes wrong, or you lose signal:

I guess there's only stock 5.1 for the XT1096 (Verizon?).
You will also need ADB and Fastboot to flash custom recovery or stock firmware.
The Moto X 2014 is called Victara, this is the TWRP custom recovery for it:
https://dl.twrp.me/victara/
You flash it in Bootloader Mode, using Fastboot, like this:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.0-0-victara.img
(This is just an example, you might want to flash a different version, or recovery)
Then you boot into recovery immediately after flashing it, so it doesn't get overwritten by the stock firmware.
Then you can copy the ROM and Gapps zip files to the phone, and flash them by tapping Install in TWRP.
Hi,
A couple of months ago I unlocked the bootloader, flashed TWRP and installed a custom rom on my Moto X 2014 (XT1092). Now I want to revert back to stock, and install XPosed framework.
I've been reading all kinds of websites and threads on XDA on how to revert to stock, mostly the ones below.
HTML:
http://techbeasts.com/how-to-restore-moto-x-2014-to-stock-firmware/
HTML:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/general/guide-return-to-stock-official-status-t3274121
However, all the procedures involve reverting the recovery to stock recovery. I want to keep TWRP so I can easily flash Xposed. Is this possible at all? And how do you need to do this? Can I just skip the following command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"?
Or do I need to follow the complete guide to return the phone to stock firmware/recovery and then flash TWRP + XPosed.
Thanks in advance for the tips and comments.

Guys , I have to sell my phone, so, I decided to do all the necessary to have it stock..
So, the question is, how can I do this? I need the phone like when I bought it
You can do most of this via SRK Tool. If you can't relock bootloader then you can flash your stock update.app via stock recovery and that will relock your bootloader and get rid of root.
Please don't follow this for when you have Nougat beta installed though.
I currently have TWRP recovery.. How can I put stock recovery?
Is better to put 1st the rom and for 2nd the recovery or contrary?
Anyway thanks for answering me!
1. Backup (as always)
2. Flash stock recovery with flashify for example
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862669572
3. Flash stock Rom b182 with dload-method
http://download-c.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=91783&version=358257&siteCode=de
Now your Bootloader is relocked and everything is stock again (I hope so)
