[APK] LG L90 Utilities - LG Optimus L90

Use this utility at your own risk. By using this application, you agree not to hold ShinobiSoft Software ( me )
and XDA-Developers liable for any issues or damages that may arise as a by-product of it's use.Important
This application is intended specifically for the LG L90. It will NOT run on any other device.
This application is NOT intended to run on stock ROMs either, although theoretically it should work.
This application currently only works on KitKat ROMs. Sorry for the inconvenience. This application is a remake of my LG Optimus L90 Utilities script. This application has the same abilities as it's script counterpart, but now with a nice GUI.
This application is a navigation drawer styled application. When first installed and run the navigation drawer is initially open. This only happens on the first run of the app. To access the navigation menu, swipe from the left edge of your screen to the right.
NOTE:
There is an option to flash bootloader patches for D405 and D410 variants. It is currently disabled until I work a couple minor things out with the process. It should be enabled in my next release.
Requirements
KitKat ROM
Your device MUST be rooted
Future versions will also require BusyBox
Permissions
android.permission.ACCESS_SUPERUSER - For root access
android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - For writing to the external sdcard. IE; making backups
android.permission.INTERNET - For the built-in help viewer. The help viewer never goes online but the permission is required by the WebView component
Features
View extensive device information ( WIP )
Basic partition backup ( boot, cache, laf, recovery, system, userdata ).
Flash images ( boot and recovery )
Fastboot Manager - Easily toggle between fastboot mode and software upgrade modes.
QuickButton Manager ( D415 ) - Assign an app to open when the QuickButton is pressed. ( 4.4.2 - 4.4.4 only )
Reboot dialog
Most activities have an "Information" icon that provides additional information about itself.
TODO
Cleanup and add more device information ( WIP )
Add an advanced option to backup ANY partition
Add a reboot widget
Add an About activity. Currently I'm just using a popup dialog to show generic about information.
Ability to flash boot and recovery images that are packaged in flashable zips.
User suggestions
DownloadLG L90 UtilitiesAnyone willing to lend a hand to help develop this application further, please let me know via PM, and I'll consider making this a DevDB project as well as sharing my sources on GitHub. I'm slightly hesitant of this mainly because I've spent alot of time developing special classes for this.

That's weird... Are you on stock? I installed it via Es File Explorer with no problems. I should note that this IS NOT intended to run on stock KitKat but on custom ROMs. Although I'm not sure why this wouldn't work on stock...

I uninstalled and just went thru the download via TapaTalk and FireFox. Choose the "Download Now" button and not the "Download" button. After the download finished, tap the notification to install.
And I'm also going to move this app from Dev-Host to my web site.

That's just strange. You have the same device I have and it installs and runs just fine for me, I'm running CM11 tho... I think your stock ROM may be the issue.

Try this:
Open Terminal Emulator and type:
Code:
getprop ro.product.board
and report back what your result is.
This value is how the app determines if it's installed on the correct device or not. I may need to look in to another method.

Try the same "getprop" command but with "ro.board.platform" instead. This should return MSM8226.

I didn't suggest editing build.prop because that can be erroneous at times and as an app user you shouldn't need to edit your device to make an app work.

It flashes, boots and works fine (I've flashed multiple times).
Did you follow the instructions?
This is made for the galaxy tab IO version (altho it would probably boot on the 'v' also, provided you have a recovery which can flash test key signed images).
sweet thanks a lot been wanting sqlite3! Do you know is it possible to add python to the mix? I've been able to get the python binary working on the tab but don't know how to link up the libraries.
Ill look in to it.

this does not put an su file/binary in bin.
you must have had other things in prior to flashing this.
remove the su file from bin, and reflash the .zip for good measure (in case you have broken links elsewhere, etc.).
That fixed it thanks. Not sure how the other su got there just followed root instructions from other thread

when you flash this you will be rooted/have root capabilities when you return to the OS, so there is no need to do another method on top of this.

SWYPE Beta

Anyone had any luck installing the new Swype beta with Honeycomb support? I have it installed on phone and have proper beta username and all but when i try do download from the installer it gives me a connection error? I installed on phone without a problem and is working fine.

so quick poll of people on this please... is anyone running titamat rom able to get this to download? i'm begining to think that somehow the UA string embeded in the modified framework-res is somehow an issue for the swype installer (i had to sideload the installer apk for the same reason)

Anyone have "Auto Space" working? Each time i swype multiple words no space is placed between them. Yes I have the option checked in the settings.
i signed in on swype.com resent myself the invite with the updated beta apk and then clicked on it in my email. Brings to a page swypes website saying "this is not an android phone".
Any ideas?
The error that states "this is not an android phone" is from the desktop UA change.
Now is there anyway to temporarily disable the UA string so this will install?

Tablet cannot download any type of file?

First note that I am on official 4.0.4 USA rom (USA model) that is stock but rooted.
Downloads from any browser won't work (chrome/stock/firefox) but I can download off say Tapatalk or within apps. So long as the link isn't to a mirror (file sharing website) it seems that is has something to do with the "downloads" app. As if it won't accept downloading through that app. Anybody else have similar problema/found a solution.
Also if somebody doesn't mind posting the downloads app (for stock 4.0.4 p7310) and see if I can delete then install to see if that works.

Thank you both for replying. After flashing a rom and still not being able to download stuff I done some cleaning up I my sdcard partion. I Found a "file" called downloads.txt. After deleting the file downloads can now happen. I believe the problem is caused but how Android manages downloads. As the was no directory for downloads it was trying to download items into /sdcard/downloads. As that directory was a file (not even sure how that one happened) and not a folder it would attempt then fail.
You should change. txt to the original file extension e.g. zip

Ad Away not blocking ads on HTC One

Obviously most are aware Google Play have blocked any ad blocking apps but i had an apk. of AdAway from my Galaxy S3 so i installed it on my One but it does not appear to block all ads like it used to even when i manually update it and reboot there's always ads in certain apps, am i using an older version of this apk. or does anyone else have an alternative apk'. of any ad blocking app i could use, or is it something to do with the phone itself?
Cheers
unless you're running a modified kernel with the protection of /system partitions disabled, your host file gets replaced by default every time you reboot.
I've adblock 2.3 and it works fine, i don't have ads in apps
Which version do you have?
And see if you aren't running a custom kernel with /system partition protection disabled.
Have Trickdroid on my phone so I choose stock kernel as it's the most stable i believe, not ready to flash custom kernel yet as development is still in the early stages, running same version as above stated and not sure it blocks any ads, any other way around this without flashing a custom kernel?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
There's a mod that removes the protection from the stock kernel. It's in the development section.

Had better luck with adblock plus than adaway, might want to try that instead.
This was one of the first things I installed (all of yesterday, when I got it).
First thing to note is that you don't have to reboot the phone, despite what the app says. Just activate it and go back to Home screen. In fact, a reboot, as noted above, will undo the effects of Ad-away.
I did notice that it seemed to disable itself at one point today, unless my phone rebooted at some point in my pocket without my knowledge, which would be disconcerting.

I just checked the "help" information in my AdAway app, it sets out instructions for a workaround for HTC S-on devices i.e. how to move the hosts file to data and put a symlink in system...
Think this answers the question in the OP
Per post 12 you can currently get AdAway here either directly or by installing F-Droid market (alternative to Play store)

Aye you can grab it here:
https://adblockplus.org/downloads/adblockplusandroid-1.1.2.apk
If you're on stock ROM and don't want to use any kernel patch to make your /system partition writable, you can flash this little zip through recovery (e.g. CWM) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327934. Does exactly the same as the app (blocking hosts through system's hosts file) but applied via recovery

[CM12][CM12.1] Low Res MMS APK Fix

Hello all! If you've ever wanted to use the CM12, CM12s, or CM based ROM's stock messaging app (mms.apk) because of the theme engine and noticed that your MMS pictures were terrible quality then this is the fix for you!
By default the pictures are formatted to be downsized to 480x640 causing it to get super pixelated. With this modded Mms.apk the resolution was brought back up to 1920x1080 and the images aren't pixelated!
This was tested on my OPO, but testing on other CM12 powered devices would be appreciated!!
Step 1:
Download for CM12: Mms.apk
Download for CM12.1: Mms.apk
Step 2:
Move Mms.apk to /system/priv-app/Mms and overwrite the original apk.
Step 3:
Change permissions to rw-r--r-- and reboot!!
I used apktool and the apk files from Exodus (awesome ROM, you should check it out) so big thanks to @iBotPeaches (and other contributors) for the lollipop supported apktool:
http://ibotpeaches.github.io/Apktool/
Special thanks to @froggymike911 for the CM11s MMS fix:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/low-res-mms-fix-t2822970
What problems you can run into:
-It will say "There is a problem parsing the package" if you try to regular install. This is a file that MUST be pushed manually to the system.
-If the apk doesn't install, try to use a different file explorer w/ root privileges. ES File Explorer is the one I use (and recommend )
Enjoy using the stock messenging app!!
For anyone curious, installing this on CM12.1 nighties causes FC when trying to enter messaging settings. Do not install.

If you want me to make it for cm12.1 pm me
Why not just make it and post it as there will probably be people looking for such thing. If you make it, I'll test it out for you.

No problem, I was just giving anyone running 12.1 a heads up it doesn't work.
Google messenger works just fine as an alternative.

Got it fixed. Reflashed nightly. Then in the app he suggested I made sure to go into setting to allow root. Then copied file and changed permission. Then reboot. Worked great. Now I can send better pics.

Just gonna report that sending MMS doesn't work for me on CM12.1.
I believe it's more operator related on the size than just the app. It gets stuck on sending. Back to google messenger for me.

It's not going to work IMO. Operator are setting up max size of MMS. For example, my operator/ provider offer max 300kb picture in MMS.

What is your operator? It depends on what your operator can send as a max amount of data. Also, if you update to a certain nightly build on CM 12.1 it will stop working (I sold my OPO so I can't test anymore ).
