Red Lights - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, after 2 months with my Moto X I saw 3 red lights, 2 at bottom and 1 at top.
I know that they are sensors but it is OK to see them when I am in a dark room?
I don't know if they were there and I didn't notice them or they started to show a few days ago

These are the ir sensors that control moto display. It is normal to see these glow faintly visible in dark conditions.

[Q] Does your Vivid have a red flashing light?

Hello all
this is my very first post on XDA but i got a question:
I got my vivid (black) last week and i noticed today that when you make calls there is a red light right next to the AT&T logo (left side of the AT&T logo) under the ear piece. this red light only comes on when you are calling someone. what is that light for?
this light is really hard to see in light so you should turn off the lights in your room (go in a dark place) and place a call, you should see a red light start to flash, it is very low!
i placed a call and noticed the red light started to blink rapidly? does this happen to your vivid also? what is this light for??
Thanks!!
Sensor to turn the screen on and off if its by your ear or not

Dead pixels

I am using my note for 9 months now. I want to know if i have dead pixels in tge oled display by now and if there are such dead pixels how to identify them????

You'd see them as blue, red or green spots or possibly black.

dial below in stock dialer to call upon the buildin test facilities

Ideally you can do this in e. g. a picture editing app, to check for anomalies in different colours. But that may be over the top

takes you to LCT test and use red green and blue to test any black pixels during the color display.
usually i have seen a lot of notes with one or 2 pixels not working mainly on the red and green sides
Thanks all, there is one more thing i want to know, how much is the normal age of oled??? I mean what is its fate? I always thought that its the best display but knowing that its pixels burn with use made me a little worried. I dont think its a good news for most of us.

I don't know exactly figures but amoled being organic has a reduced lifetime compared to oled. There are also factors to consider such as direct sunlight, so if you're in a sunny place unlike Britain, you're screen will error out more rapidly.

Blue LED tend to deteriorate faster than red and green.

[Q] blue screen tint?

I barely got my lg flex but the first thing i noticed was when my phone shows white images they has a light blue/greenish tint to it. I just came from the lg g2 and it displayed white images better is this normal or is it my phone.

I dont have G-Flex yet, but on my old Galaxy S, I was able to calibrate the screen with an app called voodoo color. I hope there is a screen adjuster app for the G-flex too or i hope ther will be
I dont have the blu tint anymore ever since the kk update

Never noticed it when i had jb but there were some users that had it and exchanged their phones. I guess there is a handfull out there. Might want to look at the early threads.

I have a LG G Flex and my screen has the blue tint. It is especially noticeable on the top part of the screen and is blotchy blue. The bluish tint goes along the top of screen towards the right of screen about a quarter way down . Other than the bluish blotchy area I described ,the rest of the screen is white.
My phone is set at 50% brightness. At 100% brightness the blueish tint isn't as dark and is barely noticeable.
I have read of others having same issue. If you Google it you will read lots of complaints about the bluish tint in different areas of screen from the top to the bottom.
I bought my phone about 7 days ago at Best Buy.
I had upgraded to Android 4.4.2 on At&t. I Had considered possibly exchanging it for another one but I think bluish tint may be normal.

.... I have attached 3 photos in which I had tried my best to capture the bluish tint on white screen background. I hope this helps

Wow that's strange. I'm absolutely positive that there's a lot of screen variances between these devices. The G Flex on display in my T-Mobile store had an extremely grey look to it, even on 100% brightness. My screen isn't like that, although it's not as white as an LCD, I'm extremely happy with it.
I just took these 2 pictures with my Nexus 5, one with the flash off and another with the flash on.
agreed; I have had 3 gflex's; the first 2 were perfect white screens, no ghosting; my current one is bad, lots of blue tint, and lots of ghosting..
Yours looks way better than mine. I wonder if I should take mine back. I'm worried I might get one that's even worse than my current phone... Thanks for posting the pictures!!?

unfortunately, thats the risk you take; if you are within your "in store" return period, you could go back to the store and check your replacement out before you take it home, but if you are past that time period, its a roll of the dice..
I'm still within the return period. I might return it on Saturday, which will be day 14 of my return period.
It's a shame, I like the phone and have it set up the way I like it.
The Bluish Screen issue is a bit of concern . I don't know what causes it . I don't know if it will worsen or lead to a future total Screen Failure.
I'm a bit disappointed in Lg though.
I believe they need to work on their quality control and testing before they ship out devices that have an obvious screen defect.
Thanks.

Take it back and check the new phone before you swap to see if the white is white.

I think you have a faulty display. Vertical lines like that shouldn't be visible during normal operations. If I were you I'd go to a service center or get it replaced ASAP
Those lines are not visible during normal operations..only visible when it is in sleep mode..i called to moto care that stupid representative told me to clear cache to realove this issue...i pity on moto care...

LOL
Thats really stupid of them xD
In any case, it seems you have a bad display.
Time for a replacement, I reckon
Yeah...guys do we hav any whastapp group r facebook page for moto g 2014

I have also noticed that lines. But its not vertical line. Its small grid right.
It can be noticed from dirct sun light.
My phone has it also, you can only see it in direct sunlight at certain angles. I think it has to do with the components that make the screen work, I do not think its a defect at all
Mine has it too, but you can only see it if you catch a very bright light at the correct angle, I thought it was part of the display but even if it isn't I'm not too concerned, my display is perfect in other regards (no yellowing or touch screen issues).
May be I didn't notice it due to Many many scratches on screen guard
Verticals lines are nothing but digitizers...not a defect...

XT1097 is Moto X 2nd gen. You must go here with your question
It's normal as I've had hands on with X2.
And as said in above reply, you're in wrong forum..
