Hi guys,
I was wondering if someone with a HTC One M7 with HDR mic could record loud audio with the voice recording app, or an app like "Smart Voice Recorder" which allows you to select the sample rate at which to record (it has an option for 44.1Khz CD quality on it), and see if the recording is distorted at all?
I'm asking because Nokia's phones which have a HAAC mic utilise the HDR mic when recording video, but when recording audio only, loud sounds are distorted which means it doesn't use the high quality HDR/HAAC mic, and apparently no one'd written a windows phone app that uses the HDR/HAAC mic when I asked last year - can someone confirm things are different on Android?
Of course running a custom ROM may mean the HDR mic isn't supported in the first place (referring to this thread).
Would be great if someone could experiment and find out what's what!
Hello,
i have the Xperia Z3compact for over One Year.
I'm on the road every day, so I use the Sennheiser Presence Bluetooth Headset for any call.
My only Problem is when calling; other's hear me to low! They have to increase their speakers to maximum and had problem to hear me. The Sound Quality is very good but they here me too low.
I have tested every Rom from (original) Android 4.4.4 over 5 Lollipop Versions (stock and rooted Rom's) and now on the newest Sony Android 6.0.1
-all with same bad results
When I'm calling with the Phone (without Headset) all here me perfect and loud.
But not with the BT Headset!
Then i have tested Cyanogenmod Cm12.x and wow the Problem with Bluetooth headset is completely gone
All here me loud and perfect!
But on CM the camera Quality is gone and I have the fisheye problem.
Now the big question:
why is the BT Headset outgoing mic volume louder than on any other Rom's?
And is there any option to increase the Bluetooth outgoing mic volume with a rooted (stock) Rom?
I know about the mixer_paths.xml file.. but no one ever, write here; How to tune the Bluetooth outgoing Mic volume!?!
All only tune the z3c inside mic's and speakers..
CM Mod is nice but buggy there is no stable Version and the cam quality is crap.
So please, if any one have a idea what I can try? to increase Bluetooth Mic Volume!
Help me!
Information:
The Problem is not my Hardware...
I have tested the Bluetooth Headset with other Smartphone without problems!
I have tested the Headset with another new Z3compact -same result other here me to low on BT Headset Calls.
So there is no Hardware defect.
PS: Sorry for my bad English.
Hope someone can help me

Is there any way to disable the noice reduction?
Or any values to change to make it less active / agressive?
Whenever I record my guitar by connecting a lapel mic to the phone or earphone's mic then I get this weird recording like I recorded it under water
I just invested in that Lapel Mic and i get to know that it doesn't help in any way
So please I request that someone to help me out with this and provide me any fixes for this issue
Thanks.

Click to collapse
Thats great but this is not the hardware problem
It's a software bug
So there should be a way to fix it
I just need that fix
I don't need a Bluetooth Receiver because I can record the audio in RAW that disables the secondary noice cancellation microphone totally that give another problem of a hissing sound just like when a mic is directly plugged into a DSLR camera
@amanu247 there has been written a lot about this issue. Also on Xda.
You need root.
It is the ACDB profile in combination with fluence. The short version:
edit /etc/audio_platform_info.xml and search section <acdb_ids>
and add or change these lines:
Code:
<device name="SND_DEVICE_IN_VOICE_DMIC" acdb_id="41"/>
<device name="SND_DEVICE_IN_HANDSET_MIC" acdb_id="4"/>
<device name="SND_DEVICE_IN_HANDSET_STEREO_DMIC" acdb_id="21"/>
If that doesn't work you may want to add this line to /system/build.prop
persist.audio.fluence.audiorec=false
Cheers
Hi XDA Community
Setup:
Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6 (connected to a USB 3.1 HUB because otherwise 48V Phantom Power does not work)
Two Condenser MICs connected to INPUT 1 and INPUT2 of the USB Sound card, powered by 48V
Samsung DEX Dock
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (Single Sim) running Android 9 (2020 May Security Updates)
Findings:
1) Signal Messenger App
recording Voice Messages seems to use 44100 Hz recording, and the USB is most likely set to 48000 Hz. This results in crackling and digital noise in the recorded audio file
i played around with the Voice Recorder (see 2) and many other things, and Signal Messenger on DEX Screen suddenly started to record nearly correctly on 48000 Hz..
No digital noise
Records Line 1 and Line 2 onto just the left side of a stereo signal. Playback of that recording plays only on Left Speaker
After rebooting, today i cannot get this behaviour back, digital noise is there and i struggle again to find a solution how to tell Android 9 to use 48000 Hz for Signal Voice Recording or any other app with the lack of settings
i tried Voice Call with Signal Messenger on DEX Screen, but the Audio was forced to Earpiece or Speakerphone, especially the other side complained about crackling in sound quality which only disappeared, when i started Signal Messenger on the Mobile Screen on the Note 8, then it used only the internal mic and the Speakerphone, and other party said the quality is really good, but not what i want with the external mics
2a) Voice Recorder (there are several) https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....app.voicenote
can choose 44100 and 48000 Hz after my USB Soundcard is recognized and it also shows recording from External Mic Notification.
If I choose 48000 Hz the sound has no crackling or digital noise, it is crystal clear, but mono, it records both inputs on a mono track, stereo setting is greyed out
if i chose 44100 Hz i have digital noise, crackling.
uses system audio drivXDA
2b) Voice Recorder (another on) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.splendapps.voicerec
can choose 44100 and 32000 Hz and you can even chose stereo and here it works
with 44100 Hz there is digital noise, but stereo
with 32000 Hz there is no digital noise, it is a preset called FM quality and i would like to use this for voice recording for broadcasting on FM later, we run a show on the radio
3) Audio Evolution Mobile Studio DEMO Version
comes with custom audio drivers (like DAWs on Windows also use the ASIO Drivers that are invented by Steinberg Cubase)
can use all inputs from an USB soundcard for recording in any setup with any KHz or bit in mono or stereo setup
in my case this was the only tool where i can correctly record my stereo mic setup
very nice but cannot change System Settings since comes with custom LOW LATENCY driver
maybe i will buy this Actually i use Steinberg Cubase on Windows usually
4) Zoom App
i tried a Video Meeting with Zoom App on Android 9 on this Samsung Note 8 to a Windows Laptop in different country
did not work at all on DEX, crashed on the DEX screen after joining the meeting
neither external USB Soundcard worked
if you launch on the mobile only Speakerphone, Earpiece and Internal Mic is supported
video freezes for both parties if I switch to a different app and continues if i put Zoom App in foreground
5) Google Meet
runs on Samsung DEX Screen perfectly
can present my screen from DEX
did not test with external soundcard
other paties video continues to work in background
my camera that is shared to the other partie does not record if i switch Meet App to background
better than Zoom App on Android, no wonder its Google
6) WaveEditor
best Multitrack Audio Editor that I have seen so far
Works on Samsung DEX
not really for recording but for editing/cutting/postpro
Free Version has most features, but for pro editing like compressing/parametric EQ need to buy the Pro version, I am thinking about that
really good tool, I am very happy
Conclusion:
In Signal Messenger App I have also this crackling if I record a Voice Message (and it Runs on Dex), so I suppose I need to tell Android Audio Manager to use 48000 Hz on my USB Soundcard Inputs. But how? I would like to see a Audio Manager Configuration Tool, that can change this System Wide
How do I achieve this? Any Ideas are welcome. Thanks for reading and thanks for your time posting a reply. Good day.
PS, i also opened a support Case at Samsung (in Community and Support) kee p you updated if they answer.
I have a Moto X4 running Android 9.0 (pie). Recently, I have noticed that its microphone is not working in calls i.e. person on the receiving end can not hear my voice, only noise instead. And after searching for possible workarounds, I tried to put it on speakerphone but to no avail, noise still persists. But when I try to record a video via camera app, it records audio clearly without any noise whatsoever.
It has a primary mic and two noise cancellation mics. It seems to me that the primary mic has gone bad and the other two mics are being used in video recording.
So my question is, is there any way to use/force secondary microphone as a default mic through build.prop or some other alternative?
Headphone jack seems to be broken too, so I can unfortunately not use any earphones as external mic.
Please help.
I'm facing the same issue ,have you found any hack for that ?
