[MOD][FLASHABLE] Nexus 6 extended power menu (no reboot options) - Nexus 6 Themes and Apps

I made a simple extended power menu without reboot options, because stock rom is odexed. Maybe it will be useful for someone.
Flash it using TWRP or other custom recovery
Make a backup of /system/framework/framework-res.apk in order to restore it when something goes wrong. I recommend to create flashable zip to restore framework-res.apk. Just replace it with the modified one from my zip and place in root of sdcard0. Then flash backup via custom recovery.

Good work! Glad to see things are starting to roll on the Nexus 6 and Android L 5!
Yes i too would like one that has more options. Reboot, recovery, downloadmode, bootloader, shutoff etc!

isn't it safer to use power toggles app?

Yo nice work. Have you been able to get the boot to recovery and download modes?

It is currently impossible to do that for a stock ROM set up because the files needed (android.policy.jar at least in previous versions of android) is odexed. While it is true that we can successfully deodex them, we cannot yet re odex them so they can live peacefully within the framework.

Where does the .odex for android.policy.jar live? I don't see it in framework/arm folder.

In yet another way that things have been obfuscated, the Dex files from several framework files have been merged in this this boot.oat file.

CleanRom has one built in. I suppose you could either flash that ROM or simply extract it from @scrosler's rom

Sunbeam.apk from HTC One Google Edition

So after trying some of the other posted apks that didn't install correctly on my phones, I found a rom dump for the HTC one Google Edition, DeOdex'd the files and Signed the APK with the test key I always used, and it so far has worked on every device i have without the need to put it in the system partition. please try it and report back, this was tested on a nexus 7, Note 2, and HTC One, didn't try my nexus 4 yet though.

[KITKAT] [MOD] Gel | Transparency restored | Hangouts Only | 21 November 2013

What's in the mod?
- Added Google Experience Launcher
- Made Hangouts the only sms/mms app
- Restored transparency in lockscreen and home screen statusbar/nav bar
- That's it
Description
This is a flashable zip I put together to flash over any KRT16S based rom. To enable the launcher just open any app and press home, then select the launcher. Also this enables transparency on the lockscreen/homescreen(In Gel) and removes the sms app to enable hangouts as the only sms app, just like the Nexus 5.

Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
So this is KitKat for my Nexus 4? I just got a 5 and my girlfriend prefers the OS on Kitkat to CM10.X (I can't believe it either)
Hi,
Can't wait to flash KitKat but...
- will this wipe everything?
- I now have my Nexus 4 rooted and stock. Will flashing this do anything with rootaccess?
- basicly: what are the steps I have to take to flash this safely?
Happy regards and thanks for the work!
Skroif
Edit: just updated my signature
You did everything I wanted in mind
On the Nexus 5 Port he has these:
- init d supoort.
- Busybox
- Rooted
- Zipalign
- SQLITE3 script
- Ad host updated
These look important, I've seen them on other ROMs
Do they have a big impact on the performance? if they do, do you think it's possible for you to have them too?
Also is the rom deodexed?

I have a problem.
I'm wipe everything from CWM, and install ROM + SuperSU from sideload. But phone stuck on boot animation.
Any ideas?
@tmlhodge
Can you maybe add these features:
-init.d
-busybox (directly in Rom)
-Root (directly in Rom)
-Zipalign (not really important)
If yes, thank you

Update will fail if you are rooted.
it will fail if your system files have changed at all. that means if you get an ota while rooted, it will fail 100% of the time.

Figured it was TMO. Yea, Need to just fastboot flash the 5.1.1 TMO E image. No need to ever do an OTA if gonna be rooted. Just fastboot the image and be done.

Uninstalling Multirom.

This is more a curiosity question. So from what I understand, installing multirom doesn't physically alter the partitions right? So in theory, flashing a stock image on my Nexus that has multirom installed will work without problems and remove every trace of multirom? Or is it absolutely vital that the uninstaller zip gets flashed first?

That's a screenshot of a secondary rom, using mr.. Creates a "partition" in data/media/0/multirom/
Can't flash stock system.img to secondary slot, but I'm sure primary is good as long as you have a kexec patched kernel (on primary rom).

Yea it creates a folder on the userdata that it mounts, but since it's a folder and not an actual partition, would formatting the userdata with fastboot and installing a stock image with fastboot overwrite it without errors?

Another quick question dude, you might know the answer. When you flash the multirom uninstaller zip, does it remove your kernel too? What does it remove? Would I have to reflash a kernel to the device right after the uninstaller zip?
