Because of the sides of the screen being curved, many glass screen protectors on the market don't address this and are flawed. I'm going to keep a list of the ones that I have tried and will keep updating the thread with any progress. As the title reads this is for the tempered glass screen protector, not film, not 'flexible glass.' Tempered glass is the only I use.
Tried:
EzGuardz
Edges did not adhere.
Ghostek
A bit wider than the EzGuardz, covers more of the glass, and cutouts are better...but edges don't adhere once again.
I suspect the reason why none of these adhere is because they haven't addressed the fact that the edges of the screen are curved downward. They can easily fix this by have the edges of the screen protector end where the glass begins to curve.
All these are on my Moto Maxx which is equivalent to the Droid Turbo.
If anyone orders other ones please feel free to chime in and I'll update the first thread with the info.
So, EZGuard also does not adhere to the edges of the screen.
Other than that is pretty good.
Feels like it has some kind of oleophobic coating.
With a Gorilla Glass screen, and a 1 use free screen replacement from Verizon, are screen protectors really needed?

Gorilla glass does not equal scratch resistant, I work in the mobile industry and every one of our demo phones have scratches on it, also it definitely doesn't mean it's shatter resistant. The screen replacement applies to the droid turbo if you have Verizon, a good number of people are using it outside of Verizon's network. And I personally have the moto maxx so again, doesn't apply. I've had screen protectors on every one of my phone's that were touch screen.

From my understanding, yes they replace the glass, but not the digitizer. I like the added protection

Wow, I've been using Phones with Gorilla Glass since I moved to Verizon with the D1 and never scratched the screen, but I also never carry it in the same pocket as my keys. To each their own, my wife has used glass screen protectors sold to her by the rep and the one time the protector shattered, when they removed the protector at Verizon they scratched the screen removing the shattered glass. Of course a new protector and she never noticed.

The digitizer isn't built into the screen? Huh always kinda figured they were.
I've had people come in saying the same as you, but they never look closely until it's pointed out. I bet you there are hair line scratches on the screen. Anything from bits of sand to fibers that are just the right hardness will leave a mark on the glass
But if these people don't notice then who cares?
But they notice after its been pointed out, which in turn they always get a screen protector. A small scratch may not appear to be much but it still reduces the integrity of the screen. Besides a $10-$20 screen protector which protecting a $200 screen... You do the math.

There was a white spot on the top near headset and parts of the edges (on all 4 edges) didn't stick, small enough to call them 'slivers' of bad adhesive.

Thanks for the heads up. I ordered the screen protector yesterday and hopefully all is well with the installation
Looking into a glass screen protector as well.
Got any recommendations?
Just installed a Mimeusa tempered glass today, was a-bit disappointed. Maybe it's part of a bad batch but the edges and camera cutout are not adhering evenly. Its very noticable towards the bottom, lifting between the home a back button.
Ordered Mimeusa before for my Oneplus one and it installed great. Hopefully I can get an answer from customer service.

That's unfortunate news. I have the same glass screen protector for two months now and haven had any edge start to lift. Upon installation and until now. I work in construction which my phone is always surrounded my dust.
Cracked my iVoler, so today I installed a BodyGuardz tempered glass for the LG G3 Vigor (G3 Mini)... Perfect fit, and it's guaranteed for life, so if it cracks, they replace it. Just an FYI.

Yep! It follows the screen edges exactly, coming right out to the rounded edges of the screen. The cutout for camera and sensors is spot-on, as well. It's a match. I should note that I have the exact same areas (at the very top of the screen, and a small spot at the bottom, between the home & back buttons) that don't want to adhere as I did with the iVoler. It's apparently got more to do with my screen than the protector that's on it. Anyway, these BodyGuardz are available at your AT&T store, and probably elsewhere as well, and the warranty on them is a big plus compared to an Amazon-purchased iVoler that might take 3-4 weeks to arrive from Shengzhen.
So are there any glass protectors that adhere to the edges?

There are some difficulties in making a glass screen protector for the turbo's screen because of the curved glass edges. The issue is that the screen protector naturally wants to pull away to a flat like state. Because of this, you see very few companies offer tempered glass protectors for devices with the curved glass edges, and most people report a poor experience with them, as the edges release from the glass, thus making it easy for the screen protector to get pulled off.
A few solutions that have been tried are the company making the protector a bit smaller than the screen, to avoid the curved edge, but then you don't get full coverage, and have a sharp / noticeable edge from the screen protector. The other solution is to make it thinner / more pliable, but that raises its own issues (cost, loss of protective qualities).
I know Zagg is working hard on developing a tempered glass screen protector that will work with the curved glass screens, thanks to the iPhone 6 plus having this type of screen, but it could be awhile before they release it, let alone it trickles down to other devices. Once they figure it out, though, it should spread to other protectors (given most off brand protectors are made by one of the Chinese manufacturers of Zagg, just rebranding them, and likely lowering quality control a bit).
Okay, so I found 2 new entries on Amazon for the glass protectors. One is the Casebase brand and the other is the Orzly brand. The Casebase comes with 2 protectors and seems to have a better fit for the front-facing camera. I would post the links, but I'm a newbie so I can't yet. Lmk what you guys think about them.
Verizon has the tempered glass in their stores, I bought mine when I received the phone 2-3 days into the launch!

The Zagg glass for the iPhone 6, 6 plus, and Note 4 with curved screens are already available and work perfectly. I would say the fact that it isn't currently available for the Turbo has more to do with it being a Verizon exclusive than anything else.

I just looked up the one for the six and six plus. What are they doing that's different from anyone else? Its just smaller then they call it case friendly lol I expected some new technology on the curve I guess. It isn't really noticeable while just looking at the product, but the Zagg's now have a curvature equal to that of the curve of the screen. The first wave of Zagg Glass panels for the 6, 6+, and Note 4 were all defective. They peeled up at the edges and would never lay down completely flat (I work for Best Buy I install 30-50 of them a week.) The second round of shipments had ironed out whatever kinks were causing the imperfect fit.

I'm confused as to why you would want a screen protector on a Gorilla Glass screen with a free replacement warranty? Is there something I'm missing, or is there something else special about these tempered glass screen protectors?

I used to be one of those people too. I had never cracked a screen in my life because I always take care of my phone, but it all changed when it happened to my HTC One. Accidents happen and I'd rather lose a screen protector than have to use that free screen replacement. I think 10 bucks is a reasonable price to spend to protect a $600-700 phone, especially when i plan on keeping it for the foreseeable future. I still don't completely understand using bulky cases, but that's probably because I baby my phone.
Spartan glass received today - put it on and took it off - the curved glass edges do not stick and looks terrible - asking for refund

I have never carried a screen protector on my phone previously either as I felt the quality was utter **** on them and I won't look at one with bubbles and crap in it.
The tempered glass ones don't peel up or bubble (when they are not defective and are installed correctly.) They are PERFECTLY clear, don't obscure the screen at all, and they feel just like touching the actual screen. I truly consider them to be poor man's insurance.
Gotcha. Thanks

I normally look at amazon reviews. I am currently using a Casebase LG G3 glass screen protector, looking at amazon reviews in .DE and also .CO.UK this has the highest reviews as well
I am going to email Casebase now and ask them if they are making these for the upcoming LGG4 and if yes i will stick with them. You get 2 glass screen protectors in the pack and one of them is a spare
Hi, i would like to pre-order one, to receive it before the g4. Which one is the best for you?

In regards to which protector would be best; I am not at liberty to make any judgement since I don't yet have the phone nor screen protectors. However, I would agree with the above poster that waiting for amazon reviews to come out is certainly in your best interest. Allow the other people to identify which products do and do not work. You'll save yourself time and money that way.

Sup!
I've got a LG G3 and I ordered a screen protector from Amazon a while ago and it's a really great fit from a company called Casebase! I'm going to probably order another one for my G4. But as the previous comments have suggested you could wait for reviews and such, or you could use your previous experiences to make a purchase before hand, that's what I'm doing!
Hope this helps
Hi Guys here is the reply i got from casebase.com. I have just ordered one from amazon as well.
Hi Jack,
Glad you are very happy with the glass screen protector for the LG G3. I can confirm we have launched the glass screen protector for the LGG4. It is already being sold on amazon and it is a twin pack just like the LGG3 version. Please look out for a video going up on youtube on 14th of May showing our protector on the real device. I can confirm there are no bubbles and it covers the phone edge to edge. I suspect many other brands will not have this covering the phone edge to edge but we have used a 0.18mm korean glass for this model which does the job perfectly fine.
We hope your very happy with your purchase
Kind regards, Casebase

I'm a little hesitant with zagg-- after reading some of the people on other xda forums that have issues with them, and zero customer support, I would consider an enjoyable experience to be a lucky one as well. I've personally never had them because of the high price tag, but I've heard now several stories of how the quality has gone down the tubes in recent time. Again, this could be speculation, or what have you, but from what I've seen, the company is not what it used to be.

I managed to order the phone on saturday and also the casebase twin pack glass screen on saturday from amazon.de (they are showing in stock for the phone today as well which is way before release date) My tracking shows it should be here tomorrow. I will give you my honest opinion of the casebase glass screen protector when i have installed it
Regarding Zagg, they lost the screen protector game ages ago. They are just over priced and a known high street retail ripp of brand.
Companies like casebase, Spigen, Orzly, Luvitt all make good glass screen protectors at a third of the price online.

What's to say that if there was no screen protector that the screen wouldn't have been fine? I haven't used a screen protector since the G1 and never had a screen shatter of crack yet. Even with various drops. Although I could just be lucky. Or it could be a false sense of security the protectors provide?

HI - In my opinion its not a case of false sense of security. Each time i have dropped my phone hard enough and the glass screen has broken im sure if it wasn't for this glass screen protection then the phone screen would of broke. It would of at least chipped it a little bit. Either way for me its not worth the risk. I change my phones once a year and buy them simm free so its not a risk worth taking

The case i am using is a Orzly Lg g4 fusion case, it offers very solid protection around the sides but also shows of the back of the phone as the case is transparent on the back. All in all my phone looks gorgeous :good::good::good:
So this will be my first phone with a curved screen. I'm assuming that the screen protector will also be curved?

Coming from the Nexus 6, tempered glass screen protectors were a nightmare . the curved screen made them have a halo effect and caused proximity sensor issues. I'm hoping this phone is not going to be the same.
Personally I just ordered the Spigen glass.tr slim for my phone.. It can be found for 9.99 + free shipping on amazon currently. I will be reporting back with my review once I receive it and my phone.
I've had bad luck with the tempered glass protectors. On both my Nexus 5 and my Nikon DSLR, I've had the tempered glass break - no damage to the screens themselves, just broken screen protectors. No thanks.

My laid my spigen on top of my Cruzerlite bugdroid case to get an idea of coverage and it appears as though the screen protector goes edge to edge..leaving just barely enough room for a lip on a case

The Force appears to have a better screen in it than the Z. I have both devices in my possession and have noticed a difference when you tilt the screens. On the standard Z, the further you get away from center the more washed out the colors get and at extreme angles the colors almost invert. You can take the Z Force screen all the way to the very edge to where you can't even see the screen anymore and the colors never fade away or change at all. I don't know if it's a totally different LCD of if they have bonded the plastic screen to the LCD in some new way, but the viewing angles are awesome on the Force. Just an observation.
I totally would have expected the opposite, other shatterproof displays in the past have been crap. Need to go check them out now.

This is exactly what I thought too. I was so confused I had to keep checking the phones to make sure I didn't have them in the wrong hands. I couldn't believe it. The damn plastic shatterproof screen is beating out the glass piece. This might be the future for all phones.
I put a glass screen protector over my Force screen so I have the best of both worlds. For those who don't know the shattershield screens dent very easily so be careful.

This is exactly what I thought too. I was so confused I had to keep checking the phones to make sure I didn't have them in the wrong hands. I couldn't believe it. The damn plastic shatterproof screen is beating out the glass piece. This might be the future for all phones.

Did you have the tempered glass protector on your Force while doing this comparison?

No both phones were fresh out of the box. The shattershield phones come with a preinstalled plastic screen protector (which sucks) and it was on as well and nothing on top of it. Just came out of the box.
I was going to take that plastic protector off before I put the glass down but opted not to. Doesn't seem to have affected visual clarity.
Don't they say the force's screen is better?

The top layer of the shatter shield is plastic...and removable?
I had my phone for 7 days and there are some noticeable (albeit light) scratches. Annoying since I've babied it. I installed a screen protector yesterday on it.

You're not talking about the one that has white text that says "SIM/SD Card Tray" or what the buttons are right?
So I did I just put a screen protector on a screen protector? I mean, I'm OCD but that might have been excessive...

If the phone is anything like the droid turbo 2, there is a factory plastic screen protector installed that can be removed. Since I didn't touch my phone until my glass screen protector arrived, I put my glass protector right over the top of everything and it looks great.

in essence, yeah you did. The top layer of the shattershield screen is plastic and acts like what most people would consider a screen protector....
for past phones you could buy replacement top layers from Motorola...im not sure if they are on sale for our phones yet...
I'm in the market for a tempered glass screen protector as well. Glass just feels better to me. So I can remove the plastic cover and put the tempered glass instead?

I would not recommend removing the plastic layer as this is part of the shattershield and would imagine using the phone without it would void the warranty of the screen even with sing an aftermarket protector. I have not read documentation to back this up but it would be worth looking inot since the screen is guaranteed not to shatter for four years, it would be a shame to void the warranty so early into the warranty period.

It's a removable plastic screen protector. Moto sells replacements.
The only issue I have with the Z Force screen (and it really is a non issue) is that it has an odd discoloration when looking at it with polarized sunglasses. The colors are.... I dunno.. Odd....

How does the screen protector over the screen protector look? It seems that would really be overkill and mess up the texting.

I'm glad I did it. The stock screen protector is incredibly soft. Yes it is replaceable but they are pricey.
The screen protector I chose has a matte look to it and gives the screen a little bit more tactile feel. I like it. It's not as distorted as as you'd think.

I hate putting on screen protectors. It usually comes out crooked or there is dirt under it. This one is very forgiving. Got it on my first try and the dirt was gone by the second day.

I have tried many and finally found one that actually fits. Until now the best one I have seen is the non glass protector made by Skinobi (for those that like plastic ones use it). However in the glass department they all sucked. The Qoosea one fit but it's about as cheap as you can get construction wise. It's curved but it only has a small amount of basic adhesive along the edges. So basically pocket lint can get under the screen and get stuck there. Also since it doesn't fully sit on the screen sometimes using the screen itself can be a hassle due to poor touch detection. Well all I can say is thank god Top Ace came out with one recently and actually got it right.
It's curved glass, plenty of adhesive on the side that counts and by god it actually fits perfectly. Things line up where they are supposed too. Anyway figured this deserved it's own post since finding a glass protector for this phone can be a pita at times due to the curved edges. Posted a link below, hope it helps. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M3MZQTK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I got mine yesterday and I can confirm that yes, this one actually fits great. I bought 2 in case they don't make them anymore when the first one eventually breaks.
From the pictures and one of the latest reviews it looks like this screen protector covers up the light sensor. Are there any completely clear screen protectors that fully covers the front?
Just read one of the comment said it covers the sensor that the phone is unable to turn on the screen automatically during a call when you put it away from your face. Anyone can confirm it?
I bought one on Ebay and it arrived and had curvy edges, but the idiots had sent me one for the full-size Xperia X even though it was in a packet marked X Compact. Way too big. Now I have to fight for a refund.

Mine had the sensor cut out and everything was right where it was supposed to be. Maybe he got the wrong one not sure. I went with the black one and it was fine.

Anyone know of a UK source for these or a seller who will post to the UK on Ebay/Aliexpress etc?
I too bought one that only sticks to the edge of the phone and it's already got a piece of dust underneath it! I love being able to swipe from the edge with the curved edges and I love the longevity of glass screen protectors, but it's horrible to use as it's just floating a bit off the surface of the phone and makes a click noise/feel when I tap. I asked a load of Ebay sellers and they all said their glass curved screen protectors only stick around the edge of the phone.
Thanks.
Hi,
I found this one on Devilscase when I checked the Aluminium bumber.
http://www.twdevilcase.com/en/index.php?menu=prod_detail&mid=21&did=7&pid=5258&list=class It's curved and seems to have the adhesive on the full screen (except the edges).
Did anyone tried it already out?
Cheers from Erfurt/Germany

Based on them saying all over the website "Please be noted the adhesive is visible on the edge of CURVED Glass Protector" I imagine these ones only have glue on the edges too.
If anyone is wondering, I've attached a photo of what happens if you use a generic glass Ebay curved screen protector that only has glue on the very edges for a fortnight! Lots of dust has crept in through the speaker holes etc - the white dots showing are all dust UNDER the screen protector. I'm going to buy a plastic one that will stick properly.
I bought this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N8XMXGB
Seems like it just ran out of stock though.
edit: I asked the seller and they said they will not restock it, so I guess this will be the last time you'll see it.

I did. I paired it with the aluminum bumper and while the bumper is top quality as usual with devilcase products, I can't say the same for the screen protector.
The screen protector does fit perfectly but it collects dust behind it after few weeks and the responsiveness and consistency of the touchscreen are compromised.
I've been looking for an alternative to buy in Europe but found none. Topace is not an option as is in stock only on Amazon USA. If anyone has suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem and got refunded. Ordered from different seller and got the correct sized one. The item itself is bad. It feels plastic, touch is not always responsive and swipe gesture for opening menu drawer is hard. I need to really press the edge before doing the slide. Screen feel more distance and it feels there are separation between the protector and the screen.
I replaced it with a generic plastic screen protector which actually feels better, easier to make slide gesture, seems more seamless. The ebay curved screen protector is really that bad. I am going to keep using the plastic one and cut a new one to fit it more properly. I also need to check how to prevent it is being lifted up accidentally from the dangling side. I can stand the dust on the dangling side, but i hate when it is lifted up and the lint is actually below the screen protector.
My experience
This is the reference for my second e-bay cover it does not have dust and has lasted much longer than my first that did.
My recollection is that there is adhesive everywhere.

No. You are wrong. I bought one based on your recommendation and it's just another rubbish one that only only has glue in thin strip round the edges that will allow dust to creep in the speaker/camera holes and scratch the screen. More negative feedback to leave!
Why do not manufacturers produce a curved screen protector that's made properly!?! The glue can't be that expensive! [emoji36]
