I would love a clean green and black theme for the messaging app on MIUI that looks like the windows mobile 7 messaging along with a flat black stock keyboard buuuuut I have been able to find none of those anywhere. Is anyone feeling gracious enough to make one? I know its a lot to ask but at least you get the warm fuzzy feeling that comes with doing a good deed.

Btw, all I need are the icons for the sms app. I know how to replace the files and even make the icons, I just don't have the means to do so.

HEY!!! dont know if you have ever tried it...but why not just use handcent!! as your default sms and change the colors for that there. as for your keyboard...yeah idk.
I too would suggest Handcent if you haven't yet tried it...it has many customizable options as well as a clean interface.
I have tried it. I liked how you could change the colors but I'm meant change the buttons and the whole message bubble, not just colors.

I have a Htc Evo with sence rom, and I need help finding a file name/png. I have been ripping apart themes to make my own. I am kinda stuck, when I go to my contacts, the text is white on white. I want to darken up the background png. I can't seem to find it. I have seen other themes and roms have this built into them. The phone.apk has black text on white background. I can get what I need from there but would like the issue fixed..... thanks for any help.

Please post your modded SMS Unread Count apk's and requests here! To install a modded version, uninstall the Market version and then install the downloaded .apk from your favorite file manager.
You can add your custom icons for use with SMS Unread Count by placing them in "sdcard/data/com.kanokgems.smswidget/".

I'm not to bothered about the counter color. The thing that I would like to mod is the orange high light when you hit the SMS unread icon. Has anyone changed this so there is no color at all when you select it

No, but I can tell you that the highlight is a .9 png in the res/drawable folder.

I would like to see this widget with only the digit visible, no bubble, no outer ring or glass effect.
I have posted on the "Transparent widget skins" thread -->here but I think quite heavy coding is required. Only managed to remove the glass effect of the bubble.
There is a work around for this using Minimalistic text and Tasker, so it is not a problem for me, but would be nice to see a free and easier alternative.
Also, it will require some digging in the "Post your screen shot" threads but the black bubble mod is there somewhere.
Here's a gold one and orange one, although they are very similar.
Okay, I've figured out how to mod the bubble color, but I can't figure out the text color.
Here's pink with white text and black with white text.
Transparent might be tough, because the bubble is RGB and not ARGB, so there is no alpha value control transparency.
I'll keep trying for for text color and transparency.

Install them like any regular app. If you already have SMS Unread Count on your phone, it should just update with the new color.

I have the same question. Put them in the folder mentioned in the settings. But the icons dont show up in the icongallery of the widget.

The folder you need is a subfolder of the data folder on the SD card. You should put them in "sdcard/data/com.kanokgems.smswidget/".
If it doesn't exist, create it.

I can't make roms (yet), so I'm gonna start theming. That being said, what apps/icons do you want themed? I figure we can get a nice little list going here, so anyone else who wants to theme can make use of it as well. Obviously, stock apps will be themed; what we need here is the apps from the market or other sources that you want to match with everything else. Let me know!
I would love a new icon for Go SMS Pro. I like the app a lot more than the stock messenger, but don't like the way it clashes with my other icon images. If I could get a cooler icon, that would be awesome, even if it looks like the stock messaging up but maybe in a dark blue or black color. =)

If you have a launcher other than stock you can change it to anything you want w/o theming the whole apk. Plus gosms updates weekly and would be quite the pain in the long run if the apk were themed...

I already use a widget to display apps (which includes go sms) on my main desktop a certain way, so programs like better cut pro don't work. Unless I can somehow paste the shortcut app from better cut pro, which is essentially a widget, inside another widget, it doesn't work for me.

Sorry if this has been asked but I Googled and couldn't find much (I suspect because of the keywords- it wants to show me how to change the background or how it's available in white)... but, after the 5.0 update, there is one "annoyance" setting that I'm hoping can be reverted. Everything is now white instead of black (menus, app drawer, etc.). Can this be reverted to the darker theme easily?
As far as I know there is no way to revert to the "black theme".
Oddly, G's news app has a dark theme built in, but thats the only one I can find
