I just bought the S5 active and cannot find a rom that works with it. Do we have a list of roms anywhere that are for the S5 active? Or is there a mod for the current S5 roms to work with the active? I was really looking forward to the CM12, but when I tried it, I received an error that said the rom was a 'klte' rom not a 'klteattactive' rom.

Specifically looking for lollipop rom
You wont get a lollipop rom, only touchwiz kitkat.

OK, what is touchwiz? I thought it was just the Samsung launcher, like Sense is to HTC

So I got a Galaxy Tab 7 wifi yesterday and am now reading all about how it's different and such from the 3G versions, so I got a few questions...
Has the wifi version been updated to 2.3? i couldn't find any way short of rooting...
which brings me to my next question, how can I root it and what ROM's are usable on it? I've been reading conflicting posts around the net about how to root it and have seen a lot of ROM's say not for the wifi version.
Are there any ROM's (assuming my above question was answered) that allow for bluetooth HID? Couldn't believe they locked this out...
Last question is...is there a way to use the Samsung stuff (like the media hub, social hub, and samsung apps store) with a different ROM?
thanks! there's so much conflicting info between the versions it's confusing!
From what I have found, you can root it with oneclicksuperroot but there aren't really any roms for it.

You can root it with z4root too, easy and quick.

how to backup rom and install custom rom on galaxy tab 7 wifi
hy master android i'm a newbie, how to backup or install custom rom on galaxy tab 7 wifi??
please
same problem, please help!
my coworker just got a gtab wifi only, ive rooted a bunch of phones before but not this device yet. which roms will i be able to flash on this device?
thanks in advance.
It would seem at the moment no big devs are putting any custom roms out for the wifi only tab (GT P 1010).
There is one rom available but to my understanding its only a stock rom with some bloatware removed and extra language support. (Thread in tab development)
I myself have had the GT P 1010 for almost a month now, rooted with Z4, one click lag fixed but still running stock nastiness. I have posted up here about the possibility of getting a CWM running on our tabs, first priority for me personally, but no one seems to have any answers?
Oh and if my sig still says that its bricked, one word, ODIN. Bloody life saver.

I think he's referring to the Sprint Stock Gingerbread update/rom which i've heard does in fact work on the wifi only tab. There is a rooted version of it available as well. Check the Development thread and you'll find it.
Really!!!!! A gingerbread rom that will work on the wifi only tab?
I was under the impression that no roms designed for the GSM tab would work on the wifi tabs? Different hardware and supposedly a different processor?
Not that I'm doubting you but where did you get your source that it will work on the wifi only tab?
TIA.

Be very careful. I hard-bricked mine when trying to flash gingerbread on 1010. DONT DO IT, if its not stated it works with 1010
Hi all,
I'm thinking about trying out some custom ROMs on my Note 3, but am not sure whether that will cause problems with the Gear.
Is anyone here using a custom ROM on their Note 3?
If so, which one?
Does it cause any issues with the Gear? e.g. some functions or apps not working
I have an N900, but interested to hear of issues on either platform.
Cheers,
Rich

Stock here also (not that I have much choice with the Verizon version) although I rooted it immediately so I could do unlimited tether etc.
With root, totally debloated and running Xposed with Wanam module I have basically all the advantages of a custom ROM/theme etc. and everything works perfectly.
DarthStalker V3, about to go to 4. No issues.
Jellybomb v2 beta 3. Works great

i'm working with stock Rom rooted and Gear rooted .
otherwise Galaxy Gear works fine with custom Rom ? (for example : Gear Manager : intelligent-relay and auto-lock?)
thanks...
Will odex/deodex make any difference to the Gear?

Hi guys,
I'm looking for a way to update my S4 Active to KitKat 4.4.2 or up.
I am currently on 4.2.2, rooted and I have CWM. Below is abit more information about my device:
Model: GT-I9295
BB: XXUAMF7
I am unable to use the OTA and Kies method to update so my last resort is to manually install it myself, the only problem is I can't find where to download the firmware that I need.
If anyone is able to point me in the direction of where it can be downloaded that would be great.
Thanks

You can get your stock android frimwares from either Samsung updates or sammobile(samfirmware).
cwm + root = the road is open for latest Android 4.4.4 AOSP
I've tried unofficial /experimental CM11 for some weeks and had some quirks with Bluetooth and camera. Switch to Carbon built July 29th and this has working BT car connection. The camera has more options for tuning.
Carbon http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51466872
Google Apps (gapps) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50632468
- this is the repaired version offered by goo.im/gapps
Or do like most others and search for interesting projects in xda forum S4 Active Development or S4 Active Original Development.

Thanks for the info mate. Was really helpful!
I've also read that there are a fair few bugs still being worked out with the KitKat version. Like you said, with the camera app and BT ect..
I'm interested in downloading the "Carbon" version that you spoke about in your post. Is the link you provided the one that you downloaded? Have you noticed many bugs?
Thanks again!
Had a hickup with BT today. But that's the thing with most aosp build of latest kind. You never know what you gonna get.

That makes sense I guess.
Well I managed to download and flash an official 4.2.2 firmware to my phone. Unfortunately it seems like samsung haven't pushed out the 4.4.2 update for Australia yet.
They have pushed it out for New Zealand which is basically just around the corner, so it's odd why they wouldn't do it for Australia.
Do you know of any way to flash an official version of KitKat from another country, say the New Zealand version. What harm can it actually do?
Thanks
I have a Verizon Galaxy S4 with a deodexed stock rom 4.4.2. I had a galaxy gear with null rom and it worked just fine with the gear manager. It broke so I picked up a gear 2 neo figuring it would work fine. So I tried connecting it and it just stays on the "connecting to gear" screen. I don't recall having issues with my first gear, so I'm confused. Does having a custom rom, even though it's practically stock, cause issues? Any and all advice is appreciated.
