Hi,
Since an update in December, the android app of the UK news paper The Guardian is no longer working for me. I have been waiting till now for them to fix the issue but it still crashes after today's update. The error message shown is "Unfortunately, Guardian has stopped, " I want to know if anyone else is experiencing this issue and if there is anyway to prevent it.
Anyone having a GT-i9305 and is on stock kk 4.4.4. Please download it and give me the feedback. Here is the link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.guardian&hl=en .
I'm on Stock 4.4.4 kit Kat, GT-I9305, rooted.
Thanks
come on guys, can someone please confirm it?
really, no one can help me
Only a year ago this forum was crawling with people, guess it's time to move on .
Guess no one will try it

Hi
I got this app working once and once only for about 10 minutes, played around with it and exited the app. I now can't get it to work again no matter what I do.
I can confirm I am having this issue too on Jelly Bean 4.3, Samsung Galaxy S3 (I9300)! New phone, not rooted and no crap installed on it, It's driving me insane as I'm not a technophobe. I've tried clearing the cache, clearing data, uninstalling and reinstalling more than once, battery pulls, disabling Google+, wiping cache partition in recovery mode, moving app to SD card... ARGHH!

Try to update it, it should work now, they fixed it. I have an occasional notification "this app is not authorised for billing etc" besides of that it works fine.

I have a Galaxy S I9000M, just came back from repair at the Montreal Repair Depot.
Had some trouble unlocking it to run on Fido network, but finally got that working using Helroz's unlock tool (so, phone is rooted) and unlocked).
Used it for a little while (about an hour) installed a couple of apps, and now, suddenly, I cannot install apps from the Android Market. When I try to install, the app goes through the process of downloading, but then it does nothing. I get no error message, no notice of install failing, the app download indicator disappears from my notification area, and the app is not installed.
Has anyone else run into this issue?
Any idea of a fix? I have powered off/on, no change. I would prefer to avoid having to factory reset, but will do so if absolutely necessary.
Thanks in advance for any input.
Having the same exact problem here...
same issue
Same thing is happening to me as well. It started after I rooted my phone using super one click root.
I also used super one click root on my phone, but the if that's the cause of the problem, then it doesn't cause it right away. I was able to install several apps after rooting, then suddenly I couldn't install anything.
I have read that for some people, unmounting the SD card will work. i had an external SD card installed, but i had that in before I downloaded apps that installed properly. For me, unmounting (and removing) the external SD card did not have any effect on my problem.
For what it's worth, I'm not running any special ROm or anything - just standard Froyo 2.2 (JL2) as released by Samsung for the Bell I9000M (I didn't upgrade, it shipped back from repair with JL2 installed).
Same here

Would anyone know if this is a sudden common problem or any ways to fix this?
Same thing happening to me on my Vibrant and Galaxy Spica 2.1 used the themed markets and still the same thing

let the market update the new version of maps and itll work. its workin now for me.
How can I force Maps to update?
Just some info guys: it seems to be a known issue. Checked the help in the main Market page: http://market.android.com/support/bin/static.py?page=known_issues.cs .
It's under download and installation issues. Please report it if you're having the same problem so they can fix it faster.
Ok the problem seems to be fixed by downloading/updating the Google Maps app. If it still doesn't work make sure to:
-clear data on the market app
-restart your phone
-update Google map and let it install fully
Galaxyluv, can you tell me how to force Maps to update itself? I cannot find any option to make it update

I am not really sure, mine showed that it needed an update. Maybe you can try to uninstall/install Google Map again and make sure to clear data on the market application FIRST.
After clearing my Market cache, and uninstalling market updates, market re-updated itself, and I can now install apps again (who knows fo how long, though). Hopefully, it will stay and i will stay happy.
Under Manage Applications I can't uninstall Market Updater for the above solution.
Any help?
im haviing the same issue guys, i have put a post up with same sort of problems

gonna try this now cheers
Sorry could I get some clarification on the suggestion jayisgod posted? Cos Im obviously missing something here.
I personally force stopped the market App, cleared the data in Manage Applications (btw the Cache button is grayed out) and then restarted the Market app (Agreed on the terms blah blah) and still get the same issue.
Btw in Manage Applications -> All I can see a Market Updater package but I can't delete it or force stop it (both options are grayed out).
Thanks
PS: I am using Darky's Rom V9.1 if that makes any difference

i found the same happened to me, i even tried moving from darkys to ultimate and still same problem, please help us tech genious people
Hello Guys.
I actually have a problem. I flashed my phone with the firmware which has the bootloader on it. Gingerbread 2.3.3. JVJPG
It worked perfectly for about 2-3 weeks. Then i did something foolish. i forcestopped the 'maps' process . Thought it might free up some RAM.
now after that i continuously been getting the 'maps has been unresponsive and would forced stop' message on the phone. So to get rid of it I flashed the phone against thinking it would reinstall . But no. I kept getting that message after flashing aswell together with OTHER APPS also started giving the message.
i have cleared the cachet and factory reset the phone BUT STILL those APPS remain on the phone. they dont work just continuously gives the force stopped messages. The camera works but doesn't save the pics. Any app i want to d/L . it doesnt install says something about ' package is unresponsive'.
Thankfully the downland mode works. I flashed it yet again with FROYO but now it seem like the whole system has crashed !!
The wierd thing is that APPS dont seem to get uninstalled and no date is lost even after factory reset.
Can anyone help me with this ?
Also even if i uninstall the apps. after restarting the phone. they just remain on the phone !
but don't work
Got the firmware for this thead:

I get the following unresponsive and need to close down messages :
google partner setup
Google services framework
maps
etc.
Also process system is unresponsive.
Flash back to stock firmware, install a kernel with CWM recovery, download your chosen rom, before installing, reboot into recovery, before installing, got to mounts and storage, format system, data, cache and datadata, then wipe dalvik, then install custom rom all should be fine after that let me know bud
Sent from my CM7 modded I9000. Kernel is one mean son of a Glitch!
Thanks a lot Djice for the reply. I had an inkling that i had to meddle with the kernel now :s
The problem is I have never meddling with the kernel before. Can you help me find a suitable tutorial for all those steps?
I'll search for em as well.
Guys, Any detailed help?
havn't been able to solve the problem still.

Try fixing permissions or uninstall with titanium pro and reinstall with play store
Also try wiping the data in titanium

Not an ICS issue... got my ICS LPY update over the air a while back, and have had no map problems since.
Easy, go to settings, applications, go to maps an click it, select delete data, try if still crashes. If it does, do delete data again, then uninstall and reinstall from play store. Test again, that should work

same problem
I have exactly the same problem. I have updated my Note from the latest gingerbread to the stock german ICS. After installation was completed I have noticed that Maps are constantly crashing. Google maps will locate my position and try to load map.. Everything is really choppy and after a while app will stop responding altogether and crash.
So.. at first I tough that it may be ICS ROM bug, so I have reverted back to the old ROM. I have wiped out user data, cash, etc.
I have also tried above mentioned method (posted by baz77) of uninstalling app, but nothing has changed.
I searched all over the internet, and found that there are more people suffering from this bug.
Any idea what's going on?? Thanks. I am becoming really desperate..
Fixed.
I followed Baz77's suggestion (adding a cache clear as well) and Maps is now working fine.
It worked, but only for a while. After I have uninstalled updates, removed app data, I was able to make it work. Everything was smooth but after about one minute scrolling became choppy and few second later app stopped responding and crashed. How is it possible that even different ROM didn't help? I tough that when I set "wipe data/factory reset", it would erase all stored system data..
Problem solved
Ok, so this thread can now be officially closed. I have once again uninstalled Maps and it's updates. Because I have done it so many times before, I have completely resigned and stopped wasting my time with it. My phone has run out of juice (guess why), so I left it on charger for several hours. After I have unplugged it, an update notification for Maps pops up. I sad OK to myself.. why not to try it once more.
And to my great surprise, IT WORKED this time. I have no idea WHY, but it just did. Maybe system needed some time to remove registry settings/kill process or something like that. I have restarted Note few times before with no success.
Or maybe Google has made some changes to update file in meantime, but that's unlikely.
Anyway..
Thanks everyone for help. Drinks are on me
CM 11 terrenceng "Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped"
Flashed
CM11.0 on schi800 VZW/p1c: 11-20140212-terrenceng-p1c... For a few days everything was great till I started to install some apps like gplay, new app store, android music player I think that was it. After doing to things were still fine I was able to use it on a daily basis. Then Appollo gave me an error "unfortunately appollo has stopped" then "unfortunately Launcher3 has stopped" and several others. So booted into TWRP and cleared cache and dalvik.
Things seemed to be back to normal suddenly I get "Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped". I reboot into TWRP again clear cache/dalvik. Things are fine for a week. Then I get "Unfortunately, the process android.process.google.gapps" has stopped. Restored app settings like I read somewhere. worked for a few more weeks then this error returns "Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped" after appollo crashes on me again.
Following this I do factory reset. This really seems to work I haven't gotten the errors for a while then they returned.
I clear cach/dalvik maybe 4-5 times a week is this good or bad? I was wondering are these ROMs supposed to crash this much? and does anyone have solution for these errors or is it just faulty code? Thanks in advance.
Just google "android.process.acore". There are a few posts on xda about how to clear this up. I had the same problem. Its from a dirty flash.

Thanks I was thinking that so do you know of any sites I could get a good one? I have tried downloading the terrenceng one again but I guess it is just screwed up altogether because I'm getting the same results. Which is better to flash CM11 CWM or TWRP? thanks.
Its been a while since i had the problem. You could try to wipe the data and cache from the app that is causing the acore to pop up. Or do a full wipe twice, then flash the rom, and do a full wipe again twice.

I think the full wipe twice then flash then wipe again think that worked. Seems to mess up when I install the gapps package. from terrenceng's page.
Got the right Gapps zip? Check to see. The standard Gapps zip is too large for some tabs, thats why there is a Gaps core. This might help

Hi there,
I occure the same problem and could you please tell me the command to set ram away from sd card, maybe adb command?
And in fact, I'm using Galaxy Nexus whose sd card is internal...
In fact, after I update from 20140308 to 20140504 finding "Unfortunately, com.android.systemui has stopped" scarily and rolled it back to 20140405 finding there's no menu in the notification bar and the home button is inavailable and then rolled it back to 20140308 which leads to this problem now, it just repeated rebooting and only few times did it reach the lock screen. I can't boot my phone now.
Even if I don't have any idea to reach the shell in this case...I believe it's kinda a hope...;w;After all I don't wanna wipe all the data before I backup it...
Anyone could help?
Many thx!!!!
Hey guys, Idk why but recently my phone is going crazy
I first noticed this a few months ago, I was playing Injustice and it kept pausing. At that time my internal memory was 75% full, so I thought that might be the problem so later I uninstalled the app
But recently all my other games and video streaming apps(Twitch ,YouTube etc) keeps pausing, my Album app is bugged (though the Movies app works fine), camera force closes. Even my keyboard acts buggy sometimes. I tried formatting my phone memory, still no effect.
I think it could be a virus but I tried Clean Master (I guess this isn't a good choice) and it shows nothing is wrong
So do you think it's a virus? If it is, what should I do and if not, any particular solutions?
Thanks in advance guys and I hope I posted this thread in the proper section

If you're rooted, try clearing the cache and dalvik cache. Or maybe reinstall the ROM, that's what I usually do when my phone starts acting up. It's annoying, but worth it. What ROM are you on BTW?

Well Actually I'm using the stock 4.3 ROM and I haven't even rooted my phone
I tried rooting it, but couldn't unlock the bootloader
You don't need to unlock the bootloader to root Try TowelRoot. My advice is to do a fresh install with Flashtool, with a non-carrier specific ROM (no bloatware). When I was on eXistenZ Ultra, my phone slowed down after a few days. I think this happened on the stock ROM too, it might be a bug.

I tried TowelRoot, it shows that my phone is rooted but when I use other apps to check my root status like Root Checker or Titanium Backup it shows "The phone isn't rooted"
Damn, I suck at this
Did you flash a superuser app after rooting?
You can check root with the app 'root check' (appstore)

Maybe TowelRoot doesn't work properly on .207 (if you're on that firmware). Have you followed the instructions in this thread? You might have missed something - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2783885
