I bought a 9305 locked to EE in the UK, and unlocked it. I've been using giffgaff for the last couple of months.
I've yet to see an OTA update for 4.1.2. Has anyone with a locked EE phone seen an OTA update yet?
I'm curious as to whether the fact that I'm not running on EE anymore is the reason I'm not seeing the OTA update.
I couldnt get an OTA update so plugged it in via Kies and it updated. Try that

I bet you can still update as normal with kies. I haven't unlocked and still couldn't update through ota. I did it with kies and it was fine.
Also will be unlocking the phone officially via ee as I don't want to mess around with them. All.mobile companies are finding excuses to void warranties and leave you be once they hook you up with their contracts
Updated with kies last night. I would be nice if OTA worked, I can't stand kies.
Just realised when I unlocked i could do OTA updates.... just checked and no update for me. will try Kies tonight
Hello I Purchased A HTC One AT&T Unlocked Online, But I Don't Live In The US I Don't Use AT&T Sim I Try To Update My Firmware From Android 4.1.2 to Android 4.3 I Am In Need OF This Update Can Someone Please Help Me.
It Isn't Bootloaded
It Isn't Rooted
I Have Never Received A Update (From Either HTC or AT&T)
Please Help.
How did you try to update it?
Not being on AT&T won't prevent the update, you just need internet access. Maybe you can download the OTA and stick it in the right place , if there's a link somewhere. Is AT&T even up to 4.3 yet? 4.2.2 was skipped.
Issues Updating

For The Past 3 Days I Have Tried Several Ways, No Help When i Try It Says No Update Available.
An When I Use The AT&T Update The Box Dissapears.
What's the AT&T update? Anyway, have you confirmed there even is an update? I understand HTC wanted US carriers on 4.3 by some date, but don't recall which or whether it happened.
same problem here..

Its The Software That Comes With AT&T Phones That Allows Them To Update Android Firmware, I Was Wondering If There Was A Way To Remove At&t An Run Stock HTC Sense On The Phone.
I can't seem to get the OTA for 5.1.
I'm worried that when I fiddled with my phone when Wind messed up the 5.0 OTA update, that I won't get the OTA update notification.
I'm in Canada, and I have the moto x 2014 that Wind is selling and I'm using it with Rogers.
I was also part of the OTA fiasco that bricked phones. I fiddled with my phone to get it working again.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Or am I just really impatient?
Apparently I can't post a link for a screenshot of my about phone.....

I'm still on Android 8.0 on my unlocked Moto X4 (XT1900-5). Is anybody else still 8.0 with this model?

Yes, I did not receive the OTA update to pie from Motorola yet (xt1900-7).
Glad to hear it, I was starting to think something was wrong with my handset.
Me too. We were left behind.
OTA server issue?
Are you in the UK? My moto x4 is stuck on the exact same update. XT1900-5, reteu software channel.
Motorola UK's website shows that the Pie update has been released when in actual fact, it has not been released at all. I have a feeling that there has been some error or issue with the OTA server causing no one here to recieve it.
A few people got it in December when it was released for all other variants, but that OTA clearly stopped soon after and now there have been no updates since October. It's a pretty poor performance from Motorola to be honest. I see no reason why they can't at least release security updates for Oreo.
Yep in the UK XT1900-5, unlocked.

With an unlocked bootloader, you usually will not get any OTA updates. If you can download them, then you cannot install them.

I meant unlocked, as in SIM free.
I've emailed Motorola, who told me they contacted their technical team. They are adamant that Pie will be released officially in the "near future" and they are aware there haven't been any updates since October. So, take that as you wish.
The Android 9.0 update has just appeared on my phone today.
Someone over on reddit mentioned that he wasn't getting it ota, but temporarily switched to a SIM from another carrier and it immediately showed up when he booted to the new SIM.
It seems that it now says on Motorola's UK software upgrade page, that the Moto X4 sim free began rolling 9.0 on 24th June 2019.

That would've been me. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence though because the update was released on the same day!
I had a similar experience. XT1900-5 version, running android 8.0.0 when I bought it. Didn't find any updates when I searched to try to update it to android 9 (pie) , I unlocked the bootloader, and later on decided to put a sim in it. After a few minutes of having the sim in, it found the update. The update downloads but when it's downloaded and in the "verifying" stage, it fails, probably because I unlocked the bootloader.
Advice to anyone with a locked bootloader - don't be like me, try putting a sim in the phone and get the update before doing anything else if you want Android 9.

must be stock rom to allow update to complete. Plug it to Motorola Rescue and Smart Assistant to see if it will update it.
I have an unlocked Pixel 5 that I'm using on Verizon. I'm updated to the November .003 firmware, but I (and a few others) have been getting update notifications. I noticed that there is an .002 firmware for Verizon and Verizon MVNO's; I'm wondering if anyone happens to be running this firmware, and whether you've noticed any difference.
I've got an unlocked P5 on Verizon with .002. I normally flash the Verizon images if they are available. Never thought about it otherwise to be honest. No problems since I flashed it last week.
I already was on A12 and got the .002.A1 Verizon update yesterday. Before, I was on the .003 build and I have nothing to do with Verizon. Though, everything seems to work normal.
I'm running the Verizon firmware on an unlocked device
I got the Verizon firmware on my device recently by accident. Still reboots randomly.
