Is Clean Master a safe app to use for Kindle? If not,can someone please tell me a safe Anti-virus app to use? Thanks
Same question for kindle fire tablet 8, 8th gen
Got google play working on my fire tablet thanks to the forums but now I'm lost in whether to use clean master by cheetah mobile. This appears to have once been in Amazon app store but no longer there.
By the by, any safe apps from Google play recommended in general that are safe on kindle tablet?
Much appreciated

Hi everyone,
First of all thanks for the good work and threads. It has helped me a lot to get my Kindle Fire HD rooted and setup the way I want it.
My situation is as follows: I have a rooted Kindle Fire HD (7.2.2.) with access to the Google Play Store but no means to download apps from the Amazon Market due to non-US residency (country not supported by Amazon). While I have been able to get a workaround for any other request/app I wanted, I am now struggling to get 7notes Mazec to work.
7notes is available for Kindle as Premium version which I would love to buy but they would not let me. I tried installing 7Notes for android instead. Got the apk, sideloaded it into system/app folder with File Expert and also tried via Nook Colour tools. I was able to access 7notes as a keyboard in my settings. But whenever I try to write anything with it, I get an unknown error that does not allow me to write anything down.
Q: do you know of a workaround for this problem? generally, is there anyone who succeeded in installing 7notes for Android on a Kindle device? (and if all else fails, is there another app that recognizes your handwriting and transforms it into "proper" text?)
Any help/hint would be much appreciated! :good:
Have a great weekend!
Hi I have the Kindle Fire HD 7" (2nd Generation) and was wondering how I can either get google play store and google apps or how to get android.
Please note I used an app called Key Root Master (MOD Version) to "root" my kindle.
I have downloaded 3 apps which say I am rooted so I assume I am
Anyways how can I either get google play store and other google play services or android?
One last thing I would like to note is that my kindle is running system version 7.5.1
Thanks
Edit: I switched over to KingRoot
Edit: I thought gen 2 is SOHO but "Root Analyzer" says under device info im tate...
I'd like to know the answers to these questions also. This Kindle is crippled without access to Google play.

Go to your computer, Google root junky supertool and download it, make sure adb is enabled on the kindle, plug it in, unzip the supertool and run the batch program, wait a bit, and then you will see a bunch of options, it should be option 3 or 4. Follow the super tools instructions, and let it do its thing, and then your tablet should reboot with Gapps installed. This works with or without root.

Hi All,
I'm having some issues with my Kindle Books app, when I go into the library most of my books appear as greyed out and won't open, there seems to be no difference between books downloaded to the device and books stored in the cloud. Only two books seem to work and I think both of these were purchased after the issue first ocurred. The odd thing is that if I go via the books store and select the "read now" button, the book will open on my device. Not really sure what's going on here, any thoughts on what I an do to fix this?
Running Fire OS 5.3.1 with root and ota blocked (by renaming file).
Thanks,
Jonny

Not immediately sure about your Kindle Books issue but first need to get the facts straight on your device. FireOS 5.3.1 is not rootable at present so you must be running another version or don't actually have root. This could be relevant as some apps behave differently on rooted devices.

I used this tutorial to do it. It allows 5.3.1 to be rooted using 5.1.2 bootloader.

Yep - welcome to the 1% club (ok - maybe 5%) that followed this procedure and opted to remain on FireOS. I actually thought about that possibility when penning my previous response but felt mentioning it would only lead to confusion. My bad.
As for Kindle Books have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app? I realize this may be a challenge as the version included with FireOS is a system app different (and possibly not readily available) than the generic Android app. You might also try clearing the app data store which *should* be repopulated from Amazon cloud on initial connection after the flush.

Yeah, I know it's an unusual choice, will probably install a custom rom at some point but for now Nova launcher and Fire OS is good enough for me
In more relevant news clearing the app data store seems to have worked a treat, thanks for your help
I'm on n the same boat, running Fire OS 5.3.1 with 5.0.1 bootloader. That's the only way that FreeTime works for my kids. Wish they just made free time available in he Google. Play store
How to root Fire OS 5.3.2.1 on 5th gen Tablet?
I was only able to install the playstore. i hate the os and want a custom rom or at least delete the preinstalled apps
For now..
No Root.
Please do not cross/double post. Answered here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/amazon-fire/general/fireos-5-3-2-arrived-t3500922/post70252060
Seems to me, that even the playstore will eventually stop working. I managed to install it, and it worked for about a week. Now when I launch, I just get a white screen.. And I also notice, that I cannot even get to the Amazon app store.
Google Play Store is still working just fine 3 months in. Unable to root though. If I was more skilled with coding...
I have a Amazon Fire 2017 7 inch tablet, and want to load a Android ROM (lineage OS ) but I love the TTS opiton on the default Kindle app that is on the Fire, I know the Kindle for Android app doesn't have this feature. Is there any way to keep the original Kindle app but still put on a ROM on the Fire tablet?
I would just load the google play services but I have discovered that a account will not work with that bypass and since I have an old grandfathered personal Gapps account with all of my apps I can't access them with the google apps sideload APK method on the fire tablet.
Any ideas????

The first question is moot as a custom ROM can not be installed on a 7th gen (2017) Fire at present. Google Play Services/Store can be installed on FireOS which should give you access to previous purchases. Unfortunately, there isn't a documented method for accessing legacy "personal GAaps" accounts. May be possible; just haven't seen it done.
