Hi guys....I have a few issues....my Verizon LG G2 is rooted. I have twrp 2.7.0 as my custom recovery. It won't let me flash the newest update! As well as it randomly reboots on me...it's annoying. Also I tried to flash cm12 and gapps and is said it was successful. Well it sent me through a bootloop and thankfully I was able to manually enter recovery mode and restore to my previous back up. But what am I doing wrong?! I need help! I'm new at this. Thanks!
PS. I used vs980_AutoRec.apk to get TWRP
I assume you are coming from stock which is kitkat based. CM12 is jb based, so you'll need to flash the 12b bootstack (found in xdabbebs thread)before installing CM.

So i just got a brand new LG G2 , wanted to start straight with a custom rom, read that it was safest to take the 11A onwards route to be safe cause the new way the bootloader is flashed may cause hardware issues.
So i flash the11A tot
Root using IOroot
install PhilZ recovery using Flashify
then from recovery pushed the 11A to 24A zip.
i tried installing the Malladus rom however it completed in 5 seconds and i dont think it really flashed
Rebooted to TWRP ( Which i suppose came from the malladus) tried the same, ofcourse did the factory rest too , still the same
Then tried sideloading which gave me the error code 7
tried another file which just didnt push itself
What am i doing wrong here , if someone could shed some light the best way to get from 11A to kitkat would be much appreciated.
i have installed the TOT now back to 11A.
nm figured it out , had to reboot recovery post updating the bootloader for kitkat
Hey guys. I finally got my P880 working again.
I had it on Stock 4.1.2 which I really don't like. I want to upgrade it to KitKat 4.4 (Cyanogen 11)
However whenever I try and flash the 'cm-11-20141224-NIGHTLY-p880.zip' with 'TWRP 2.8.3.0' I get:
E:Error: executing updater binary in zip

This is apparently due to something to do with how permissions or something were changed in 4.4 and that TWRP (for our P880) doesn't apparently work for flashing KitKat.
I don't understand this as other people have complained that CWM doesn't work for flashing KitKat 4.4 but the latest TWRP does work.
Any ideas?
Currently I have the P880 now without ANY firmware installed :/ and I will no longer have access to a computer after tomorrow for about a month
I had the P880 working with Stock 4.1.2 like I said, but it's pretty bland vs. KitKat 4.4 which my S5 is rocking.
So...
Is there an easy way to get Cyanogen 11 KitKat 4.4 working on my P880? I've been trying to get this done for days after flashing PhilZ Recovery that bricked my phone (even though it was for my Model (P880)).
I just got TWRP 2.8.3.0 installed on my phone and it seems to be the ONLY recovery that actually works. CWM 6.0.4.5 doesn't work on my phone. It installs fine, but whenever I try and press something, or select an option like (Install .zip) nothing works. Absolutely nothing works. Because I have no firmware installed now, I'm also at a bit of a loss as to risk installing a different Recovery in case it also has this problem. As both PhilZ and CWM have not remotely worked and I have been unable to perform any action what-so-ever with either of them. Only TWRP seems to work.
Please help me get Cyanogen 11 on my phone
EDIT:
I flashed SlimKat 4.4 instead of Cyanogen 11. I've never really liked Cyanogen anyway and I loved SlimBean on my S4.
Downloaded and flashed the 24th December UNOFFICIAL build and it worked perfectly.
However I got a little issue with /storage and /data not mounting properly so I had to flash again by wiping /data (using the 'yes' wipe, not standard factory wipe). I think I had this problem because the phone was mounted to my laptop when I did the .zip install from TWRP.
I'm currently on CloudyG2 2.2, I tried to flash several lollipop roms(XenonHD, Blisspop, CM12, Crdroid, etc) always following the instructions and changing the modem or bootstack when necessary and always get the same error "Error executing updater binary in zip", even when flashing KK aosp roms
However when I try to flash a stock rom it gets installed without issues
I've restored 26A KDZ and the problem persists, I'm on bumped TWRP 2.8.6.1
Hope you can help me,
Thanks
anyone?
Try using a non bumped recovery.
You'd need to flash the 12B bootloader, its loki'd. Check Xdabebb's sticky, you'll find it there.

I tried that and I can now flash aosp roms without getting the error,
now whenever I install a custom rom I get stucked in boot animation, again, always flashing and downgrading modem/bootstack when necessary.
Thanks
So last time my phone was stuck on the device name and model number screen. I solved that issue by flashing TWRP using Odin.
but now the phone would not go past the boot screen no matter what I do. I re-flashed CM11 4 times now, factory reseted and wipe cache and dalvik cache. What should I do?
1. change your thread title please. Need help is not really helpful or directs to your issue.
2. what version of TWRP are you using? The official TWRP 2.8.7.0 does not work. Too long to explain why's that. To fix this issue there are some solutions if you flashed the faulty recovery:
- flash Stock ROM again and stay on TWRP 2.8.5.0
- some users fixed this issue by just flashing another recovery or just flashing a stock based custom rom to get their phone working. You still need to change recovery.
In my case I had to flash stock again and flash my preferred recovery again to get my phone working.

So I should flash TWRP 2.8.5.0 and flash CM11 again? (because I don't have stock rom for S3 LTE)
Where can I get stock rom fro S3 LTE I can't seem to find it all, I find is firmwares.
Also, a few questions
1) If I give it into my phone carrier (Optus) would they know that it is rooted?
2) If they know it is rooted and with a custom rom and don't fix it for free is it possible to get it fixed by paying money??
The firmware provided by Samsung is the stock ROM I'm talking about
No, since you tried to flash a ROM through the faulty recovery you need to flash either official firmware from Samsung or a custom ROM based on Samsung stock like AMCHA or N4 Elite. I'd recommend to go with official Samsung firmware. After that go to stock recovery (it will come when you flash official firmware), do a factory reset and let the phone boot once. After that you can flash TWRP 2.8.5.0 and flash any ROM you want.
The new recovery from TWRP is too big for the S3. The S3 recovery is a little over 8MB, the new one needs more and messes up partitions etc. You won't be able to mount /system, /data and the recovery can't read your internal partitions as it should. Go with the way I provided. It seems like a lot of work but it's done in a few minutes.
For your two questions: yes and yes. But you can fix that on your own and don't need your operator or Samsung to get your phone fixed.
Thanks a lot for helping. I was scared to death cause if something happened I would've had to start using a old brick Nokia phones
Is it possible that after I flash the stock firmware, my phone still doesn't boot up?
I am basically a level above newbie, so I don't get what is happening. I see tutorials and do what they tell me to do. sometime I get what I am doing sometime I don't
as i said, after flashing stock, go into the recovery and do a factory reset. The phone will boot then

I had this problem too! Flashed stock rom, then flashed TWRP 2.8.5.0 (I was using 2.8.7.0) and then flashed cyanogenmod 12 and boom it booted and worked!
Thank you very much!
What do I need to do to get this thing on CM13.
I got with 5.0.2 39A installed, I have rooted it using the one click root method, and then did the freedom tool to get TWRP installed with 39a bump. Then I flashed XDABBAB's 39a bootstack.
Now when I flash the CM13 nightly rom, it reboots, shows the LG logo, then the blue animation for CM13 for a brief second and then freezes and reboots... I did a full wipe of everything but internal storage before flashing the CM13 rom...
I am at a loss, what am I doing wrong?

You dont need to install bootstack if you are on lp. Just go back to stock, update till LP, root, use autorec to install twrp, then flash cm13. This should resolve the issue :good:
I forgot to update the thread. Ended up being a bad emmc.
Replaced mobo and no more issue. The phone would hard lock in recovery, or anytime any heavy writing was happing to the partitions. No worries once I popped a new mobo in flashing went without issue
