There has been some reports that uploading photos to Flickr, geotagged by the camera gps, does not get placed on the map. We have discussed this in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=399890
Now the question is, has anyone been able to do this? In you have, what ROM and camera version are you using?
I am using the default swedish ROM (see tag) and camera 6.00 (build 31364) and can verify that its not working straight out of the phone.
Hi,
I have been able to get a geotagged photo placed in photrax.com, which is a site for geotagged travel photos.
At the moment you still have to select a place first at this site, but it recognises the GPS data embedded in your photo and then places it correctly, as far as I can see (here is my (ugly, 1st try) photo: http://www.photrax.com/foto_4872
Good luck!
Thanks, but this thread is mainly about Flickr, there are several other sites that read geotags properly, SmugMug for example. Flickr has a lot of 3rd party support functions though thats why its most important right now.
I have tried to geotag some photos, but when I uploaded them to Flickr I found that the location was wrong. For example, this photo was taken in Santiago de Compostela, a city in the northwest of Spain, but it is tagged at France...
I don't know if it's a problem of the diamond or the problem was when it was uploaded to flickr...

Thats very interesting since it shows that Flickr reads your EXIF data. Could you post your ROM version and camera version. Could you also do me a favour and send me your original photo as it came out of your phone. Email it to me kristian[a]frozenspine.com, attaching it to the forum destroys the EXIF data. You cannot have saved it in another program because that changes the original EXIF data.
try this page to enable the gps
http://www.flickr.com/account/geo/exif
you also might be interested in this flickr group
thereĀ“s also a more detailed description on how to enable
geotagging in the discussion forum in that group

We are beyond those easy problems. We have EXIF data working, enabled in Flickr too. It seems like some of us have strange EXIF input values...

Camera is version 6.00 (Build 31364)
The info I get under the control panel is:
ROM Version: 1.35.707.3 WWE
ROM Date: 07/10/08
Radio version: 0.93.25.NS26
Protocol version: 52.26.25.09H
Ah, and my rom is Elite 2.0: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=403296
And I'm sending you the photo...
@zetxek
Hi! Thanks for the photo, I checked your EXIF in Opanda and there is some subtle differences. The obvious thing is the camera build which is (according to the EXIF) 30998_01.
THE GPS data is formatted the same way, no differences there.
The only real difference is under thumbnail where one tags:
JPEG Interchange Format Length
are different, but I don't see how that should make any difference. Oh, and by the way - I uploaded your picture to my Flickr just to test. And it actually places it in Spain, in a town thats called Santiago de Compostela (right?).
This is really interesting since it actually works for you when the the differences between our data is really small. Right now I don't know what to make of it. If you delete the picture from Flickr and re-upload it, does it go to the wrong place again?
I will try that, reuploading the photo. There is another thing, I think I edited the photo with Picasa before uploading it. Maybe saving it corrupted the GPS Data... (I sent you the un-edited version of the photo).
Anyway I'm using a different rom version (Bepe 0.97) and I updated the radio version too, so I will update the post if I notice any difference.
I can just confirm that with the new official 2.0 rom the geotagging seems to work (at least when enabling GPS photo in the registry as explained in the sticky thread about improvements)
Phone - Lumia 800
Hi! Googled it - found nothing - is there a way to select multiple files for sharing/deleting etc.? Any app for this?
That's coming with 7.8 and 8
Are you sure about 7.8?
I have a nokia lumia 520 and I am trying to sideload to the phone (themes, games, etc) I Have followed a number of youtube videos and threads from online but i cant seem to find anything to side load apps to my phone. my phone is windows 8 and my pc is windows 7 can anyone help me or give an advice on sideloading apps to a nokia lumia 520 from a windows 7 pc
First point: Where the heck do you think you found a sideloadable theme for WP8?
Second point: I'm pretty sure you didn't find a *legitimate* sideloadable game for WP8. Read the forum rules.
Third point: The program is called Application Deployment; it's part of the WP8 SDK.
Fourth point: It requires Windows 8.
Hi, I'm new here.
I would like to know : How do enable sms delivery confirmation and call history on windows mobile 10 from AT&T ?
I've just bought two phones :
- a Microsoft Lumia 640 AT&T (RM-1073) is unlocked.
- a Microsoft Lumia 640XL AT&T (RM-1063) is unlocked.
I made the Windows Phone 8.1 updates to the latest version of Windows Mobile 10: 15063.674. On these 2 phones, I do not have access to the following options:
- Activation of the SMS and MMS delivery confirmation
- The history of the received and issued calls that remains hopelessly blank.
I also already have a Microsoft Lumia 640 XL (RM_1072) bought in France unbranded, on the latter on Windows 10 Mobile last update these 2 options work fine.
How to do with the 2 mobiles that I intend to offer my parents to replace their Lumia 520 ?
Do you think I can activate these 2 options by changing the phone registry and if so, can you tell me where find the necessary information?
Thanks for your help
RadiATIonDDR from France.
Do you know if we can change the registry database and how? if yes Vikont1 on another thread for 1520 At&t speaks of: ' CustomPFD Registry Editor + Tweaks (I) 0.3 version used, to modify the value use Root Tool v2 '
I had modify it on my 920 and 925 for skip for 830 eligible to w10m RS1. I believe although Windows Phone Internals does not allows to unlock the bootloader of models more recent seen in its faq: Which Lumia ' s are supported by the tool? Lumia 520, 521, 525, 620, 625, 720, 820, 920, 925, 928, 1020 and 1320 are supported.
So, How unlock and access the bootloader of 640 & 640XL ? thank you for your help, I think the registry database can be would solutionner my without having problem to flash the phone with a package not appropriate: RM1073 = > RM1072 and RM1063 = > RM1062 with risk of brick ...
Hi all,
I've found alone Interop Tools. So I can see the registry of my 640XL EU version RM-1072
I've found in HKLM/SOTWARE/MICROSOFT/MESSAGING :
- SMSDeliveryNotify value = 1 for activate, value = 0 for desactivate the SMS delivery notification.
- RequestDeliveryReport value = 1 for activate, 0 for desactivate the MMS delivery notification
I think that I can modify or create this 2 registry keys on the AT&T 640 & 640XL for my parents. I'm waiting to test it when they will go my home.
I seek always how activate the history call page. For the moment, because this page is desperately blank on the 2 phones. I can't find the good registry key to test on my phone.
Thanks for your help.
Hello.
I think you know, that Nokia 8 support only 1s Exposure time. Its too little time! Now smartphones support ex. time longer than 32s! It can really help in making night photos.
But is it hardware limitation of Nokia 8? No. Only software. This was done by hmd programmers. But it can be modified... Look into this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-4/how-to/guide-long-exposure-redmi-note-4-redmi-t3657343
This Xiaomi device had little exposure time too. But with one edited file, now it supports 32s ex. time! Also I took this smartphone for example, because it has sony imx258, like our Nokia 8. So. What file we should change? This file is located in /system/vendor/lib, but I don't know exactly what it's called. In attachments I included original and modded Xiaomi files with all Nokia original files. May be some one will be able to understand what needs to be modified...
Good luck :fingers-crossed:
