Yesterday when I got back home from work, I pulled out my phone only to find out it was dead. No light, no nothing. I thought it ran out of battery so I hooked it up to the charger for 5 mins but nothing happened (the led light didn't even turn on). So I decided to pry my phone open and pull out the battery (I hate doing this because the battery cover is fragile) and the phone booted up and acted normal again. I'm just wondering what happened. Should I be worried or something?

Well i can relate... but with my Xperia X10 (still can't use the Incredible S as my daily phone yet).
The X10 became dead, i hooked it to the charger, did absolutely NOTHING. Figured what gives, it's not charging so i decided to pull the battery and insert it back in while connected to the charger and there ya go, it came back to life.
No, I'm not using a custom rom. No overlocking or mods whatsoever. Just gingerbread updated through OTA then I did a factory wipe after. I'm wondering if it's a hardware problem or something or it's just a software mishap?
This happened to me once with my xperia mini.... I did some research and found that it happens coz of abuse of RAM.....some program is using the RAM continuously so we need to reboot the device and the only way is battery pull....

OR it could also be that the phone was completely out of charge.
it does happen sometimes when the phone is used till the battery completely drains out.
Once you connect the charger, it can take between 2-10 mins to start up again.
Maybe there is a minimum charge the phone needs to even start or show the charging led...
its good though your phone is back!
Yesterday my phone shutted because my battery, I connected to my car and charged a while, I got out from charging and using 2-3 minutes more and battery died again. When I got home I connected it to AC power and powered on, It was working without problem. I left my phone maybe 1 hour charging and when I took it again it was dead: screen dead, no life signal, just the led blinking slowly when connected to power (either AC and USB)...tried to take off battery but nothing. Today I connected it to PC and windows has recognized it but cannot identify it (on the PC the classic USB device not recognized error with yellow triangle on top) and the led is always blinking.
Any idea? should I have to buy a new phone?
thanks

Try Running some POST tests. As in, Power off your device and wait for few seconds. Then Press and hold your power key and your volume down key. You should be able to access your Bootloader. (If you have Rooted your device, you could access your recovery and clear the battery stats although your device's condition seems peculiar/critical). Its worth a shot If you ask me.
I have already tried it but nothing, cleared dalvik and battery stats..I cannot understand whats going on. Now phone is working again but it cannot maintain battery, I mean I kept it in charge all the night but when I power on the phone it shuts down just when it starts android (thats strange because I went to a store yestarday and tried a new battery but it didn't worked, when got home I tried to power on it again and it started)...this is driving me crazy!!
edit: I turned it on, plugged in AC charger and phone after some minutes told me that (I don't remember the exact message) power needed by the phone is more than the charger could provide...
edit2: now it is on and it is charging (USB) and it doesn't charge more than 21%...really strange
Odd that this hasn't been mentioned but perhaps try a different usb cable? Different port? Seems obvious but you never know. Cables can deteriorate.

I have tried 3 different cables and 2 different computers...same result. I have flashed a new ROM, plugged in for charging and now is stuck on 15% battery (5 minutes aga was 16%, it discharges while plugged in).
Ok maybe here is a solutions:

What do you think about?
hi.
i got the htc for about 3-4 months. at beggining it was perfect. good battery and charging FAST AS FCK , but now, it charges SO slow.
im using the original htc cable to charge it, the cable that came with the phone. and plugged in to the wall plug.
if im using the phone while its charging its just not charging and even the battery still goes down WHEN ITS CONNECTED. so for it to charge i need for like 3-4 hours not the touch the phone at ALL.
at the beggining when i got the phone i could be gaming on the phone and still battery whould go up. now even if everything is closed, ONLY whatsapp is open and im on whatsapp the battery keep going down.
all my apps are closed and nothing running.
any solutions for it or what should i do?
Dear guyeee,
It seems that your problem is related to the HTC charger itself.
I have a suggestion that you probably should replace your HTC charger set, due to
prolonged usage of heavy gpu loading while charging.
I also would recommend that you should not always using your phone to perform heavy task /multi-tasking while charging.
Doing so will shorten the life-span of your HTC battery and damage both your HTC inbuilt battery and charger easily, and worn out or misbehaviour eventually after a couple of months.
They are also many other reasons to cause this behaviour, like
Dropping your charger too often ,or the wire for your HTC charger , etc..
It 's just some advice from me. Based on my observation and some little , minor experience.
Not saying that I'm always right , but I did my best here to help you out.
Lastly, hope you solved your problem soon and your HTC one is back alive as normal. Cheers ?

I would at least try a different charger to see if problem is the charger or the HTC.
If it also gains charge slowly with an other charger it is likely your HTC.
Are you running any custom ROM?
Have you tried to restore to factory default yet?
Kind regards, Stefan.
My charger had that problem too.I tried my Samsung charger(since it also is mini usb) with it and now it charges
fast!
Hi today I was playing real racing 3 on my HTC one and I decided to plug my phone to the charger. When I plugged the phone the battery level was 53%. After playing a bit the phone showed a message that was saying that the phone can't charge because there was too much power consumption or something like that. The battery level was 0%! And when I unplugged the phone it shuted down. Then I plugged the phone in and it started charging from zero. After letting it charge for a while it reached 55% . I unplugged the phone and it went 99%! I will attach some graphs! Guys what happened?

Hi everyone, I am new here. I tried to root a HTC Desire 500 dual SIM that belongs to a friend. I followed the guide posted on XDA on this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46430699&postcount=5
Did everything as stated. Phone was working fine even after that though it was not rooted and I could not find the SuperSU app. One time, I switched off the phone and then it would not turn on again. When I put it to charge, I see a blinking orange LED. No display. According to a post on this site, I manually tried to charge the battery using an external charger. Battery has enough voltage to power up the phone now. But it is not powering on. Will not enter into fastboot mode also.
What I have observed:
1. If I put the phone to charge without the battery, it behaves in exactly the same way.
2. I put it to charge with an already charged battery overnight. In the morning I removed the charger and took out the battery. The battery was completely drained.
Any help would be appreciated.
same problem here...just happened.
did you solve the issue?
