I'm using Moto X 2014 (Verizon) with Android 5.0.
I was able to DISABLE bunch of useless apps, yet there are few left that I'm unable to disable( such as following:
* Setup Wizard
* Voice Mail
Was anybody able to disable them somehow??
You can't, sorry.
I'm looking to buy a Moto X 2nd Generation (from Verizon) and I want to be able to get rid of all of Verizon's crap (and a lot of Motorola's probably too). Is that something I'll be able to do?
I've been able to root phones before, but it looks like the Moto X only allows that if you have an unlocked bootloader and the Verizon Moto X obviously doesn't have that.
Does that mean I'm @ the mercy of stock?
Disable em
You could always disable the apps you don't use, by going to Settings -> Apps -> (Select the bloatware app) -> Disable..
This ensures that the app doesn't execute anymore, and thereby doesn't consume any resources. Be careful though, some apps have dependencies on other apps. Don't go about disabling everything at your whim.
I have a pure edition, so I'm not 100% on this, but I swear that I read lollipop gives the ability to uninstall carrier installed apps. You might want to look into that more.
Hello, someone could upload the latest updates from the app Moto:
Moto
Moto Voice
Moto Action
Moto Display
Edit the build.prop and now tells me that are not compatible with my device.
I do not want to reinstall the entire firmware do not have time.
I'm trying to see if I can install moto active display on a custom ROM.
I downloaded Moto, Moto Voice, Motorola Modality Services, and Moto Active Display from various places online since Google play store says that my device is not compatible.
All installed fine, but cannot seem to launch active display. Having trouble find the apk with the system/priv-app or system/apk.
Any ideas, or will this be fruitless?
I'm thinking that there has to be a setting within the build.prop or a missing apk/lib file that could do the trick.
Thx!

Moto apps use specialized hardware that uses proprietary drivers (not open source). Custom ROMS unfortunately cannot make use of that hardware, therefore, moto apps cannot function on custom ROM.
Install AC Display app from Play. It's similar to Moto Display with loads of options.
But still it cant match Moto Display.

I have a Moto X, 2nd gen or 2014.
I installed a rom called crDroid but I now I want to go back to the default settings because I really miss the default active display.
How can I restore the factory settings ? Is there any way to do it without so much useless apps ?
Thanks
Please post in the Moto X 2014 forum.
Also you can try AC Display from Play Store which is somewhat similar to Moto Display..
