[Q] I believe I have successfully 100% bricked the G2 - Verizon LG G2

EDIT: Wish I could delete this. Just found a post about how to fix this...but it involves opening the phone and messing with the hardware. Wish someone could walk me through it :s
So, I hope I didn't, but here is the scenario:
Wanted to install Lollipop ROM from KitKat...tried, failed, found out I needed to have a downgraded radio. Okay...use LG Flash Tool to give myself another try. Load up Jellybean...couldn't figure out how to flash custom recovery in Jellybean as all tutorials are outdated or just didn't work when I tried them, so I thought the best way to do it was to get the Kitkat OTA from Verizon and let it install, then flash a custom recovery (since I figured out how to do that with Kitkat...Autorec), then flash the old radio then the Lollipop ROM and voilĂ . However, when waiting for the download for Verizon OTA, I tried again to install a custom recovery, and when tried to load it, I just got a black screen. So I just decided to go back into the Android OS and install the OTA once it finished downloading...
The OTA finished downloading and I clicked install, my phone then rebooted...and stupid me didn't even realise what I have just done. The OTA tried going to recovery mode to install...but there's nothing there. Now I am stuck at a black screen that is trying to start recovery mode and when trying to reboot and get into download mode, it won't let me and just goes to the broken recovery mode.
So...can't really think of any other options for me. What can I do? When I plug it into my computer, it connects my phone as like 20 different drive letters that all say they need to be formatted.
So my question is...what can I do?

[Q] Interesting boot loop problem.

2 nights ago I thought I would have a go at installing ULTIMATE ROM 3.0. I have flashed many Roms on my Galaxy S before and not had a problem yet. I have ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.1.0 installed.
However, this time- something went wrong. I don't think the installation completed properly. When I tried to reboot the system (to go back into my previous ROM) I wasn't able to. The Samsung logo appeared before the phone booted back into Recovery mode.
I tried to re-flash my previous working update.zip but had problems. I wasn't able to properly re-flash as the Installation would abort for various reasons. After doing cache clearing and data/factory reset I still had no luck. I resorted to reformatting the sdcard. Still didn't solve the flashing problem.
Throughout the whole time I was able to adb into the phone, browse the file system and I could push files on to it and take files off. But Kies wouldn't recognise the phone and Odin isn't able to complete a transfer to the phone (not sure why).
Today, I am able to successfully flash update.zip files (at least, that's what it looks like) but the phone ALWAYS boots into ClockwordMod recovery.
I am fast running out of ideas. Does anyone have any suggestion?
How can I tell if my ROMs are really 'there' but I can't access them because ClockworkMod is preventing them from booting?
hmmm... me too.. stuck in a loop, that keeps going back to the CWM recovery menu, and no matter what i do, keeps going back to it... cant even get to the download screen to flash (again).... here i was thinking no matter what happens when installing custom roms, i can always flash to my stable secure rom, but not this time... need some software that can perform surgical operations, any suggestions?

Thats too bad guys, and i m sorry to hear that news.I would like to havean answer but i dont...
The fact is that since most people in this forum use some custom roms, and all of us think the same, that we can always go back,so it would be great if you give some more details about what happened to you,and mybe why it went wrong, and it would be even better if one of the BIG guys would give some explanation about this...
I already thinking of not updating my rom anymore, dot want to end up in looping too,so lets see if someone will find something.Good luck guys..
By the way,i didnt get it right,CWM recovery cannot load your backup????
I just got an idea, but not sure if or how it would work or not.
Since you can push file with ADB,if soeone made a clean backup with his CWM (o e mail, contacts, setting saved) and send it to you,so that you log in with CWM recovery and flash that ???
Just an idea..maybe stupid dont know...
Its not very clear if youve tried this already but cant you just boot into recovery through adb? or does that not work either?

[Q] Stock rom keeps hanging on boot screen.

I haven't touched my Rogers G1 rom, it is as stock as they come. One day the battery died, so I plugged the phone to charge and also tried to start it up.
My problem started after that.
I will try to restart the phone and it'll get stuck on boot screen - where it says HTC or sometimes even just the Rogers screen.
Only solution is to take battery out, do hard reset.
I've searched the forums but everybody else asks regarding modded roms and not stock.
Any idea how I could resolve this issue without flashing new roms? Or is that my only way out?
Thanks.
Did you apply Rogers mandatory 911 update that was released about a year ago? You can check by booting into fastboot mode (hold the camera button while powering it on). If your radio version is 3.22.26.17 you have the update. Rogers locked down fastboot in this latest update and the only way to root it is through the ROM. If you don't have this update I can walk you though the steps to root your phone though fastboot.
Just checked and it does have the update.
Should I just go ahead and flash new roms?
I keep having the same issue as before.
With the latest update Rogers locked down fastboot so it is useless. So, I don't believe that there is any way to flash a new ROM without first booting into your existing ROM.
Sorry but I'm inexperienced with flashing roms...
If I can't flash by the fastboot method, I can still flash by rooting the phone, correct?

I'm not completely sure, but usually you need to be able to get into the rom to root. Maybe there is another way.
6 hours later and i got nowhere...
I rooted phone, flashed new cyanogen rom, setup amon ra's recovery but I didn't do new radio since my current is one of the newer ones.
The booting goes nowhere as soon as the rogers logo shows at the beginning of boot up.
Would a new radio help? Could that be the issue?
edit:
The phone rebooted properly and now I have a working fone!
Wait, how did you root the phone without getting into the ROM?

I used the Androot method, copied onto sd card, launched file via file manager app on phone and it rooted the phone. This is how I remember anyways - I fiddled with the phone for good part of the afternoon so my memory is all over the place with the specifics.
I used this site for rooting.
I thought you said in the op that you couldn't boot into the ROM (got stuck on boot screen). So, what was the problem in the first place? (or how did you fix the ROM?)
Sorry I guess I wasn't clear enough in op.
The only way I could get to use the phone was to do a hard reset and let the phone boot up from there, however if I ever wanted to turn the phone off or restart the phone it would get stuck on the next boot up.
I was able to flash the rom by constantly hard reseting the phone every time I needed to put files onto the memory card.

[Q] Please help. Get AP Fast Boot Error at reboot

Hi everyone. I have a problem I can't seem to resolve. I tried updating to the OTA jellybean update a couple weeks ago, it seemed to go ok. I then tried to go back to an earlier version of eclipse rom I was using. Now when I power on the phone I get AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) (Flash Failure). I can select normal boot and it will go into my ICS Rom that I have loaded in slot 1 after going thru my safestrap recovery program. So the phone is not unusable, just very annoying to use. My question is, how can I get the fastboot flash mode flash failure warning to not show up every time I reboot the phone? I've tried loading the Stock JB Rom from verizon, Blur_Version.6.7.246.xt875.verizon.en.us with RSD Lite, but when I try to extract the files with RSD, I get the error "Please check input file. Either XML format is wrong or image files associated with it are missing." I just want to be able to get a stock rom back on my phone, without any errors when I boot it, I don't care if I have root, safestrap, or anything else, I just want a properly working phone. Any suggestions how to get rid of the boot flash failure warning? Thanks!!!! Richard
Update.... Looks like I really screwed it up now. Tried to rsd lite a JB rom, got about 1/2 way, to copying system image, then hung up. Now when I reboot, it won't even go into recovery or normal mode... Stoopid operator malfunction..... Any suggestions on which rom I can try to install via RSD Lite to help get it back going? It will still go into AP fastboot mode.
He's dead, Jim. Nothing is working, no rom will load, they either fail or hang up. Now both of my batteries are dead, and it won't even try to do anything. Any suggestions?? Guess I'm in the market for another phone. Maybe some of the gurus on here have some advice. Thx.

Thanks to some other posts on here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2236980 I tried installing the system and preinstall img files manually thru moto fastboot. They seemed to hang up after a few minutes, but I tried to install the files anyway. Afterwards, I was able to get into recovery mode and do a system wipe and reinstall the JB rom that I had on my SD card. Now a couple hours later, I got the pageplus 4g issue fixed again, and just finished rooting it with the tutorial on XDA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2256439.
You guys are awesome! Thanks for all your hard work.

G Flex Possible Perm boot loop

OK I purchased a used G flex that was stuck in a constant boot loop. I've followed every guide all over this forum for restoring this phone or even the G2 threads as well. My phone is the ATT D950 version. The phone thinks it's a D959 when trying to flash with the LG Flashtool 1.8.1. I've tried the custom DLL DGUP_8974 with the ATT LGD950AT-01-V20b-310-410-MAR-22-2014+0.tot and the JAN-25-2014+0.tot file too. Neither have worked at all. I fail at the same spot. The one constant thing that I've noticed is. The flash tool doesn't see the phones IMEI#. So I'm thinking it's completely F'ed right now. I use to be able to boot into CWM 6.0.4.8. But now it doesn't boot into anything but download mode. I've tried all of the different methods I could find and I'm at my ends with the phone. If no one has any other idea's to try. I'll just sell it as parts on feebay.
The only other screen I can see is a white screen with what looks to be 3 choices in Korean I believe. I don't know what any of it is so I'm assuming that won't help me either.
For any inquiring minds. I've googled, youtubed, XDA'd, and possibly checked any site that had a reference to fixing this issue. Every guide is fairly similar but an old or newer LG flash tool. I've used the original ATT DLL with the same results. All of the other post I've see are people succeeding pass my point of failure so I think the phone truly is done. And lastly I've tried multiple computers and cables.
Nobody has any idea's on what I could do next?
You could try the trouble kdz to get it booting, download one of the att flash able zips, then use freedom flex to get a recovery and flash the zip you downloaded. Not sure if that'll work, but seems like it should

Thanks that's one thing I haven't tried and will when I get off work tonight.
By the way forgot my standard disclaimer....so I'm not responsible if this blows your phone up for good, losses the imei (which could possibly be gone already), etc. It's generally not a good idea to flash another versions kdz l, but don't think there's another option with you not having recovery, adb and the build.prop being wrong.
No problem man. I'm not a rookie to the flash game and I do understand the disclaimer lol. The dude I got this phone from who had flashed what looked to be a T-mobile rom and most likely caused this issue. I got it cheap so if it's screwed I'll just sell if on Feebay.
Please close up. I was able to get out my bootloop after discovering my phone still had CWM recovery working. I was able to restore my phone back to an older 4.2.2 rom that I had. If you're stuck and booting into a custom recovery I'd follow one of the recovery boot loop fixes. The one I use I flashed a zipped command that wiped a corrupt partition since I could get into ADB mode to push the files. If you have TWRP, it has an ADB mode that will allow those commands to work. But CWM people will need to sideload the files that will auto push the files needed to correct the corrupt partitions. As always folks, please back up before you flash anything. That's what saved my phone in the end outside of the partition clearing files sideloaded in CWM.

ROM Flashing Driving me Beserko

Hello All,
New to the forums here and I am going to jump right into it. PLEASE direct me in the right place.
I have a Verizon LG2 VS980. Android 5.0.2. After about 3 hours I was able to finally get it rooted.
My goal is to be able to flash ROMS to it. My carrier now is T-Mobile. Initially I was looking to flash the phone with a stick T-MO ROM I found. But I found another one I would like to try as well.
I downloaded TWRP and selected my phone and selected Verizon as the carrier and flash the recovery ROM which tells me it was successful.
The thing is, I can't perform a manual boot into recovery mode because it takes me to a screen and just gives me the option to factory reset.
I tried downloading multiple apps to boot into recovery mode and when the device reboots, I get a message that just says Fast Boot Mode and that's it. It just stays there till I power off and then on again. WTH is going on???? I am assuming when I am flashing the recovery in TWRP, even though it is telling me it was successful it isn't. This is becoming more difficult then it seems and after 5 hours of this, my brain is melting.
