You can't flash that without s-off. I suggest you grab one of the stock roms for ge and flash it. Then flash the recovery from the thread mentioned above then lock the bootloader with fastboot oem lock

Only problem is the "Tampered" note when booting up. I figured a RUU would get rid of that. Are S-OFF instructions the same for all versions of the HTC One?
You can't get s-off on that bootloader as far as I know

I don't think there is a ruu out for this.
I just can't seem to get why flashing a recovery doesn't work
Because that recovery which you are trying to flash, doesnt match with the rom version

Too bad, im unable to find any recovery for that version

You might have a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358738
So i'm not exactly sure how i did it but somehow I must have deleted the OS on the phone.
I have s-off and it is unlocked but now I can't even boot up the phone. It is just stuck in the bootloader. if i try to boot it tells me that there is no OS installed and do i want to install SU. I have tried both installing it and not installing it. Neither works. It just hangs on the HTC screen till the battery dies and I can't even reboot it at that point. I just have to wait until the battery goes.
Please...does anyone know what I can do? How can I recover? Am I screwed!?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
p.s. I would have posted this in the development page but since I don't have enough posts, it won't let me.
If you still have a custom recovery (twrp/CWM) you can sideload a rom or adb push a rom
Have you tried the 1.29 RUU? Start the program with your phone in Fastboot.

Just re-flash the recovery then you will be good.
Unless you are on 1.29 or 1.31 you will not be able to use the RUU

I have nothing on the phone. No recovery. Or maybe there is something i'm not doing? Could you elaborate more on that please? There is nothing in the TWRP folder. I had saved one but it does not exist anymore. I must have deleted it.
Sorry, i'm sort of new to this.
Even f you're S off you cant run 1.29 ruu? I was thinking about downgrading

Go to advanced, then ADB SIDELOAD.
The Rom you want to sideload must be in the same folder location as your ADB

I don't have a recovery, that's the issue. there is no data on the phone. It's almost like it never had any data on it, ever. Is there some way I could get another ROM on the phone to flash it?

Don't worry about your recovery. If you are s-off, then you can do the RUU. Go follow the instructions on the 1.29 RUU thread. All you need is fastboot. Here is the link:

Hello,
I would like to unroot my Bell HTC One from Bell.
I has stock ROM: KitKat 4.4.2
hboot 1.56
bootloader is unlocked
S-ON
How do I unroot my device?
I'm used to unrooting on Samsung devices and returning back to stock, but I have no clue how to do it on the HTC One.
Thanks

This may work
unroot by deleting the Superuser.apk and busybox.apk (If installed) from the /system/app folder and also the su binary from /system/xbin on your phone.
