Iv been using my new phone for a while and I forgot to pay attention to my Optimus 4x. Now the phone won't start. Tried charging overnight but it doesn't power on. Tried getting into recovery mode but that doesn't work. I'm worried. What can be the issue ?

Maybe dead battery ? When you plug charger to it does the screen come on with that big battery charging icon ?
I had problem with power on and it was caused by the power button itself.

The phone doesn't power on. No big battery screen when plugged in. I left it for charging overnight but no change.

Have you tried a battery pull and then turned it on again? It could be a BSOD.
had the same problem (sort of) yesterday without the powercable connected, it seemed like the battery was empty while it shouldn't be, i fixed it using power+ vol up but i guess a battery pull should work aswell

Well i have tried for 5-10 mins to fix it, plugging it on the charger, and pulling the battery, this morning, but i can't get anything. What can be that for?
Can i revert back to stock (nVflash), or even turn it on? MUCH much thanks to everyone!

had same problem this morning (left phone in charger for night).... i just disconnected phone from charger, removed battery for 10 sec, put it back - and phone is on...
only problem is that battery level was showing 999% (unknown), and after ~10-20 minutes it was 1% all the time (worked with 1% 2+ hours).. now it is charging again.. everything seems ok.

If it wont turn on, just remove battery, and connect it to PC while holding volume up key (or down.)... it should boot "upgrading firmware" mode... after just use smartflash and restore to stock.
hm... happend second time, when phone was on "wall" charger..
when charging from PC - no problems... when from "wall" charger - always BSOD after few hours...

I had the same as in OP during first night while it was hanging off the wall charger. It hasn't happened since, but I enabled "keep screen awake during chargin". I beleive I read somewhere here it should help with that.
Same problem here overnight charge and the phone wash dead.
After a battery pull it was ok.
It 's a bugg.
Mine survived overnight charging just fine...
And it rocks (ICS i mean).

Hey i got my optimus 2x just yesterday on Starhub Singapore, and similarly, i HAD the same problem until i followed some post above about removing the battery, plug in the computer/laptop with proprietary usb cables, WHILST HOLDING THE VOLUME UP AND POWER BUTTON TOGETHER. Hold for 10 seconds at least
Nothing happened. So i didnt get the flashing menu or mode on screen
Then i put unplugged the phone, put the battery back in, and tried again, suprisingly the LG Logo came up, but now it hung there.
Removing the battery...
EDIT: I removed the battery, now working good. Hopefully this dumb sH*t wont happen again. Beautiful phone. Hope this solved everything
If not, try doing a hardreset maybe? Hold power + Volume Down Key BUT ONLY IF YOUVE TRIED THE ABOVE METHOD A FEW TIMES. cause all your data will be gone POOF
I have an LG Revolution that will not enter emergency download mode, infact I can't even get the screen to turn on no matter what I do. What happened was the battery was alot less charged than I had thought during a restoration using LGNPST; and it seems that the battery died right in the middle of the restoration.
Ideas?
had this happen once, try leaving it wall charging for a while then plug it in via usb, while plugged in via usb after chargin remove and replace batt do hard reset with phone completely off (pow + vol down) lgnpst should start then.
That didn't work. The phone won't even charge.

You may have already tried but just in case try to enter emergency download mode by taking out the battery, then plug in usb to computer, then hold power and volume UP -- not down, and then while continuing to hold the buttons insert battery.

Any luck yet? I'm curious how this turns out...
Anyway just a random thought I had... maybe you could take it in to a store and have them charge the battery for you. It might respond better with a full battery.
Just a total guess but you never know...

I've tried to charge the battery using a USB cable connected directly to the negative and positive on the battery, but I'm not quite sure if it charged the battery as the phone still doesn't respond. I'm going to take this phone and a hardbricked HTC Thunderbolt I've got into a Verizon store some time today or tomorrow. Thanks for the input.

My white Atrix HD is dead. It does not power and does not give any sign of life.
Phone was working perfectly, then it froze and after that it shuted down... never coming back. Was running stock.
First I thought it was the battery, but checking it with a voltmeter it shouws around 4Volts so it's OK for at least power the phone, I also recharged the battery separatly with an external charger...
Phone is still not powering. I tried every key comination to no avail.
If I plug it to my PC with the battery connected the green led appears for a while, then it goes off...
If I connect the phone to my PC with out the battery, then the green led stay lit forever...
What do you think it could be? Battery is dead? (It does supply voltage but you never know...)
Maybe a burned fuse on the motherboard?
Any help pinpointing the cause of the problem would be greatly appreciated.

Try this. While plugged into a power source, hold all 3 buttons on the right side. Once the light turns off, unplug the phone and hold the power button (top of the 3). Once it gets to the boot animation, you can plug it back in. Or you can just check the battery level and make sure it's not something wrong with the screen by doing what I said but never unplugging it.

If ur adventurous enough to open up the phone like u would open up to do the EB40 battery mod, try to disconnect the battery completely by un-screwing the battery from the terminal for 30 seconds. Then connect back and try to power up. What you described happened to me once when I was doing the mod and it worked like a charm.

Mine just did this. My battery died all at once was at 93% then bam wouldnt turn on.
I could plug in hold download mode andnit would flash note 5 screen for split second.
If ure in u.s. try a battery from ebay. 4.99 usd. And only took 4 days. And shes alive again
Thanks man will give it a shot - it's just odd how the screen went blank with not even any sort of sound , haptic feedback - rather just the notification light blinking. Will update after a battery swap. I already have the phone pried open.

Yup.. I hv tried all the above...and also tried connecting to laptop thru USB cable.. but absolutely nothing happening.. it's dead as a Brick
What did you do before
Nothing actually.. went to bed in the night and kept the phone aside.. morning it was off thought battery empty and kept for charging. But even after an hour I noticed it wasnt charging and I cudnt turn it on either..
maybe open back cover and see What happened?

There was an ott update that day which got auto updated..
Mostly is that OTA hard bricked your device. Your device ran out of battery while installing it.
The mobile had enough battery and the update got fully installed over wifi. After that I hv used the phone too. In the night I went to sleep keeping the phone aside and morning this happened.
Maybe Another OTA came and bricked your device.
My Y9 Prime had recieved 2 updates in a row so I can confirm it is possible.
if that is the case I cannot help you but if it is battery bug（like Note 8 battery drained overnight and battery failed）you can try reconnect the battery or replace it but I am a noob of doing that
