Help with S-OFF issues - Sprint HTC One (M7)

Sprint HTC One on 1.57 HBOOT having very serious issues, cannot boot properly (reboots after booting to lockscreen), can boot into fastboot and have flashed TWRP recovery. Tried to install several ROMs, only CM11 boots past lockscreen but still random hanging and rebooting. My question is if it is p[ossible to S-OFF so I can flash firmware to see if it can fix the issues I'm having with the phone? If Sunshine is the only way then I'm stuck because I can't operate the phone past lockscreen without the phone rebooting. If there is any other way, please can anyone kindly point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Which version of TWRP are you running? I would say you need at least a 2.7 version, if not 2.8. Then I would download a stock, rooted ROM like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50561404&postcount=2 Note that is NOT an RUU (which will try to change your firmware), but just a stock rooted ROM. You are rooted, right? Of course do a factory reset in TWRP before flashing; it will not erase your sd card storage. Assuming you get the ROM installed, then you can download Sunshine and run it. Sunshine requires a stock (or VERY close) anyway, so you'll be in perfect shape for that. Once you get s-off, you can run amuck

Phone will not boot after trying to install custom Kernel

Alright so here is my predicament.
I have a T-Mobile HTC ONE.
I am S-OFF, have TWRP 2.5.0.0 installed on my device, my bootloader says ***LOCKED*** because I locked it using revone after performing S-OFF.
I tried to install ElementalX 1.1 and after installation, my phone would not boot.
I have tried pushing a different kernel to the device and flashing that in recovery as well but I got the same result - a nonbooting device.
I tried to fastboot flash a kernel, I tried to fastboot flash a different recovery to see if that would allow me to flash the kernel and get my phone booting. No dice. I get "REMOTE FAILED" or not allowed error.
I'm at a loss right now because I didn't back up my boot partition before trying to flash this kernel and I honestly don't know what to do short of doing the HTC Unlock process again and literally losing everything on my phone.. Photos and everything. I don't have a recent PC backup either so that absolutely has to be the last resort.
ANY and ALL help will be greatly appreciated. This is the first time I've ever been in this position and not known what to try next.
Thanks in advance,
Dan
Ok so I was able to use revone to unlock the bootloader again and was able to successfully flash CWM. I tried re-flashing the kernel using CWM and the phone still will not boot.
Does anyone else have any ideas?

No I never was able to back up my stuff but I haven't given up yet. I'm refusing to re-flash an RUU until I have exhausted all other options.

I was running Trickdroid. I'm still trying to get it back up and running.. Going to try and fastboot flash boot.img from stock 1.29 T-Mobile ROM next and see if that can get it to boot.
EDIT>> Trying a dirty re-flash now.
EDIT2>> Seems a dirty re-flash was just what I needed. Phone is booting now. I appreciate the tip.
Wonder why trying to flash a kernel while running TrickDroid would result in a non-booting device though. Makes no sense.

I believe that you can boot into your recovery, right? Did you try adb pull to grab your stuffs?
TrickDorid has its own boot.img, if you try to flash stock T-Mobile boot.img over, then I think it'll cause a mess to you ROM. Try to avoid doing that.
I advice you to try adb pull to get your stuffs and then flash a RUU over

Well I did a dirty flash and re-flashed TrickDroid. It got my phone booting and it seems there were minimal side effects.
Think I got lucky this time.
Still don't know why a kernel flash would have resulted in a non-booting phone if it said successful.
The strangest thing is that it would actually boot but non-responsive and with a black screen. I was still able to use adb and that's how I was able to re-unlock the bootloader and try fastboot flash the kernel.
Wish I had ENG or modded hboot though so that I had extended fastboot commands and I didn't have to mess with revone but it all worked out for now.

[Q] (Q) please me to unbrick my htc one?

hey,
I'm a newbie over here! but i do know basic flashing of ROMS and recoveries and zips. I have a htc one 801e. and i think i bricked my phone. i was running android revolution HD 12.0 (4.2.2 ROM). i successfully unlocked my bootloader, rooted it, and flashed the latest CWM Touch recovery and even achieved s-off and Super CID through revone. i also have set up the ADB on my mac. (I am a MAC USER btw). I was having alotta GPS problem lately and so i decided to wipe my data, relock and re-root. (as i tried everything possible with the GPS problem, but to factory reset to stock RUU and re-root the device once again.) but sadly, in the process, I wiped off all the partitions, even the system partition. I tried rebooting many times but i cannot go past the Boot animation. obviously cus i wiped everything. i dont have anything on the sd card as well. I am just left with a bootloader now. (relocked bootloader. i tried fastboot and adb commands and mistakenly relocked it.) and a CWM touch recovery. i cannot access the storage on my phone. please someone help me? what can I do now to unbrick it? im on a mac! please? any help would be appreciated! :crying:

[Q] Help me unbrick my htc one please?

im a HTC one user. Currently on a formatted sd card. that is, no android rom or software. All I have right now on my phone is an unlocked bootloader 1.54
CWM Recovery Touch v6.0.3.6
I am familiar with pushing roms from mac through adb commands on the sd card. learnt that when i bricked it last time. this time, i cant understand the problem. Umm.. I updated my ARHD rom to 4.3 stock google one from 4.2.2 sense based roms. After that, i remember, going through several roor related issues. So i tried switching roms. i tried flashing various roms but i couldnt get any of em to work. i tried flashing roms after wiping cache and everything recommended, but every rom got stuck on reboot. except the nandroid backup. nandroid backup worked fine. so i tried formatting the sd card as well and flashing a rom after pushng it by adb commands. i think i have problems with my root access. i tried flashing cwm recovery all over again through fastboot, but it still boots up randomly. and im still stuck on the google splashup screen. it keeps rebooting and getting stuck on the splashup screen and doesnt get past that to the htc reboot screen. I dont know what to do. splash up screen doesnt let me access adb commands. and i think i have improper root access as whenever i try to reboot from cwm recovery, it warns me about the su binary and then gets stuck stuck in a loop again.
please help me guys?

If you are unlocked but still S-ON...use revone to make it S-OFF
Than:
1) hold power button until the phone force reboots and in the meantime press vol - button to get into bootloader
2) now go to fastboot and plug the phone to the pc
3) through command line "fastboot writecid 11111111"
4) reboot bootloader
5) now you have supercid, flash any RUU and start using again your HTC one
I think it should work, sorry for my bad english

i know that with supercid you can flash any RUU beacuse it bypasses the normal country control during the istallation of the program...
now, i don't know if you cant flash anything with the 1.54 hboot, but i dont think so. according to me, you can try to flash and in the worst case the istallation wont start...but obviously is your phone and your decisone, just as it is your responsability

Since you're S-Off and SuperCID you can flash any RUU, so just go ahead and you won't loose S-Off either.
The 1.54 restrictions only apply if you're not S-Off, because S-On won't allow you to downgrade. Since you're S-Off it will allow the RUU downgrade.

Being s-off means you can flash anything, even stuff not for this phone. So be careful.
Ruu.exe for Asia
http://www.androidruu.com/getdownlo...50.13_10.33.1150.01_release_311678_signed.exe
Or Europe
http://www.androidruu.com/getdownlo...31.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed.exe
Download the Ruu of your choice to your pc.
Connect phone via usb2 to pc with phone in fastboot usb mode
Run ruu you downloaded , answer questions as appropriate
Approximately ten minutes to have stock Rom and stock recovery
Will retain s off . Can accept ota updates without losing s off

[Q] Rooted, S-Off, Recovery. Can't boot and phone shows no OS at bootloader. Help :(

I have the following:
Sprint M8
Unlocked via HTCDev
Rooted with SU
S-Off via FireWater
Removed tamper
Updated firmware to latest
When I attempt to flash any kind of ROM, the flash succeeds, but when I reboot I'm stuck at the bootloader screen. The phone doesn't show an OS on it at all, and only goes to the bootloader no matter what. I can get access to it with adb and fastboot, transfer files and flash zip/img no problem, but nothing appears to stick. I've tried wiping a bunch of times with different recoveries and different ROMS with the same result. Any ideas or am I out of luck? Thanks in advance

Try sticking with one of each that is known to be working.

And I just flashed your stock rooted from http://themikmik.com/showthread.php?16276-SPRINT-ROM-M8WHL-Stock-Rooted-Base-1-54-651-8
I can get to the HTC One logo and the startup tone plays, but so far it appears stuck.

Can't boot recovery via fastboot

I have an AT&T HTC One that was converted a Developer Edition, so it is S-OFF and has an unlocked bootloader, otherwise it is running completely stock non-rooted Lollipop firmware. I want to flash a custom recovery, but the safer side of my mind always tests it by doing "fastboot boot recovery.img" first before flashing it. The problem is on this phone it will load, I can see the green bar on the side of the Hboot screen go up, and fastboot says it sent the file successfully, but it just locks up and does nothing, I have to long-press power for 15 seconds or so to get it to shutdown to get it to respond again.
I have tried several versions of TWRP from here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7 and all have the same results. I am very familiar with using fastboot and adb, so I don't think I am doing anything wrong, but I am scared to flash the recovery image if I can't boot it.
Any ideas?

OK, that makes sense then... I am on 1.61 I think, and when I got it it was on 1.5 something.
Seems odd that being S-off and unlocked prevents fastboot booting to occur... wonder why?

I guess I can see why they would do that, sort of, not that I agree... On my old HTC Rezound you could boot recovery and backup, wipe caches, etc, as long as you didn't write to boot/system/etc, without triggering the TAMPERED flag, you had to flash recovery or write to a system partition in order to set that flag. Oh well, Ill flash it up soon and play with it. I am actually kind of liking the stock lollipop Sense ROM, might just leave it like that for a bit though. Just came back from the range and had a little time before work so I was playing with it and it kind of frustrated me.
Thanks for your help and info.
