Trying To Restore Gear, Stuck on Samsung Loading Screen Turing on

Hello was going to sell my gear like 4 months ago and it was rooted at the time so then i went to restore it in settings and it restore. about a week ago i wanted to use it again (because it didint sell) on my non samsung tablet. It would not connect to m friends note 3 and when i turned it on it still said null at the beginning so i tryed using ordin to restore it not really understanding it. it failed everytime and now when i turn it on it shows the flashing samsung screen and doesnt go passed that. So i basicly need a really easy step by step to try to get this thing to a stock gear basicly like a just bought it.

Head down to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2463743 and find your region. Download that file and flash it through ODIN. I assume you know how to get into download mode if you were able to root it so that should be all you need.

When i start Odin with my files loaded in it says <OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0/ failed 0)

Maybe you can try some of the firmwares on SamMobile. Make sure youre using the PDA slot on ODIN 3.09 but if that doesnt work, I dont know what will.

Side note - you need more bandwidth, it's a very slow download

Very slow 50 kb/s I have a gigabit connection. This will take 7-8 hours. Brings me back to the dial up days.

No, You will loose root by any method you choose to update to lollipop best to wait and see if root is even possible before updating. otherwise you may find yourself in the position of no root and no way to downgrade to 4.4.x

That's what I figured. I will just keep waiting to see if root is achieved/can be maintained.

I am uploading to my mediafire for a second dl location for those who are interested. If you want to keep root do not flash this file until a flashable version is available. If you want to flash this version do a backup with Kies so you can restore everything after you update. I did this many times before I rooted this device, it works.

How do you flash a Zip with odin? I'm still on 4.4.4 and I don't think my phone has 5.0 activated yet will probably take a few days but im on stock but rooted still, I will wait iguess but i downloaded that zip. But when It is able to root, but how do i flash it?

Has anyone seen this for the g870a active yet?

This will not work with ODIN, but you can use ADB sideload, instructions are HERE

Can you install the OTA if you still have 4.4.2 installed? i reflashed stock on my phone and it won't let me update to 4.4.4...keeps getting interrupted/failing.

mine does the same thing. i think my recovery is ****ed now too as a result. i cant load any updates, this one nor 4.4.4

Root fail

I can't get my note 4 to root it keeps saying secure check fail recovery. Im on 5.0.1 lollipop. Is there a solution?

Are you using CF-Auto-Root through ODIN?
In case you have a bad file or wrong version, all the files you need are in one zip here thanks to @jovy23.

Damn, yes I forgot about that one, it is known to cause that problem. Glad you figured it out.

Stock FW for MetroPCS SM-G530T1

Good news for everyone using the Metro version of the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime version 5.1.1 and soft bricked their device. After searching for almost a week I finally found the original stock firmware for the Metro PCS version not the T-Mobile version.
*Credit goes to TSAR3000 for original upload*
Android Version# 5.1.1
FW Version# G530T1UVU1AOH9
Build# LMY47X.G530T1UVU1AOH9
Kernel# 3.1049-5647484
Also I have included the .pit files. Use Odin to flash both files. Connect your Galaxy G530T1 to your PC and open Odin. (I run as admin, not sure if it makes a difference but doesn't hurt to be sure.) Click on the pit tab and select the .pit file included in the package. Then check the AP box and select the FW for your device. I leave the settings as is as far as reset time and re-partition boxes are checked. Also The FRP lock is disabled. (Again I'm not sure if it makes a difference or not but better to be safe than sorry). To disable the FRP go to the developer settings and turn on OEM Unlocking as well as the USB Debugging. If you dont see Developer Options under the settings menu, go to About device and click on the Build # 7 times to unlock the developer settings. Download the zip file from one of the links below and extract the files. If you still want to root after you flash I have a link for the KingRoot file as well.
Firmware is approx 966MB
KingRoot is approx 8.2MB

I haven't looked into recovery or custom roms yet. I've seen a few custom roms for other versions of the Grand Prime but none for the Metro version yet. When I find some I will post

Thanks for posting this, It is exactly what I was looking for. I have a MetroPCS Grand Prime(MetroPCS SM-G530T1) After trying to load another .tar file via odin(from another source), I have been getting a continual soft reset. I then found your post and am very desperately trying to get back to what I had before. (even though root would still be nice)
I downloaded the drop box link you have, it was 1.6 gigabytes though in size and you mentioned it would be 966 Megs,
I couldn't get the Mega link to work as it asked me for a decryption key.
I then opened Odin and used the AP to load the .tar file that downloaded from drop box. It failed and I am not sure why, here is what the log said.

I am not sure how to proceed from here, You mentioned a PIT file but I didn't get one of those when I downloaded from the drop box link, Do I need that file to make this work?
Maybe it is included in the Mega link but it says I am supposed to ask you for the decryption key, can you give that to me? Or maybe there is something else I am not doing correctly.

it says G360 right in the filename... The G360 is the Core Prime... Not the Grand Prime.

Also, the firmware you linked is nowhere near 966mb! The one you uploaded is 1.53GB. Be cautious with this XDA, could be the wrong file mistakenly uploaded, but it's always good to be cautious before flashing your device with something you aren't sure about.

For those who are having problems with the Mega link I have the decryption key for you. I also double checked the mega link and I'm positive that it is the correct firmware. It is labled G530T1UVU1AOH9_TMB1AOH9_v5.1.1_Repair_Firmware.zip
The decryption key is: !avrYieWfJH6mJcu3TC5NnYCCrrFmdZ16YXRbAfJ-rNs

New to this forum. But all i need to do is download the zip, unzip, add the files to odin then flash while my phone is in download mode? Just making sure. I dont have a pc so i have to do it tomorrow at a friends. I flashed the g530t fw on this phone and i dont like how my hotspot dont work anymore

Yes this is the Metro version with metro PCS bloatware/apps instead of t-mobile bloatware/apps lol. Pretty much the only difference between the two. I noticed when I used the T-Mobile version I wasn't able to use MyMetro app. Always gave me an error.

Oh good. I also need it for a phone im frp locked out of. I flashed it with the tmobile fw and now i can get past the google sign in on the phone setup.

I posted a method to get wifi tethering working on MetroPCS using the t-mobile firmware.. i am using hotspot to send this now

Thank you for being quick. I upgraded to Nougat and then tried to root and my phone stuck in recovery mode boot loop. I was able to downgrade to 6.0.1 with odin md5 file. This will help get back to Nougat and attempt to root again.

What version of odin did you use and where did you get these files from?

70 downloads and only 5 thanks seems a little unreasonable for the first Odin 7.0 files.

I have an att branded S7 Edge with 935u FW on 6.0.1. Flashing these files will update me to Nougat correct? Also what version of Odin should I use to flash? TIA!

Oh how I wish I had this when I softbricked my device last weekend, had to flash the tmo firmware over the non booting at&t firmware

flashed this a couple of days ago and so far everything is great.

when I unzzipped the files, I see 4 zip files ending with .tar, they just need to be placed in odin to flash, correct? Or do I need to rename them to .md5

No need to rename. When you open Odin you'll add the files to Odin using the buttons (BL,AP,CP,CSC) AP will take a while, be patient. After all added, hit start and sit back
