Has anyone faced this? From no aparently reason my phone screen started to act this weird, beign very annoying of looking at. There are some grayed spots on the two top edges.
Is my phone dying on me?
Edit:
Can't boot custom recovery anymore. If i fastboot boot twrp.img the phone screen gets insane.

Hi, I've started to have this problem yesterday afternoon and I don't know what to do.
Whenever I turn the screen on everything is distorted, with white and black lines going all across the screen. After putting the phone in sleep mode and going back to the lock screen multiple times, the screen fixes itself. When I look at the screen in landscape mode the same thing happens. I'm not sure if this is a hardware problem or something else because sometimes when I drag the notification bar down, that seems to fix the screen itself. Any solutions? I tried searching all over for an answer but couldn't find any.
Thanks.
bump..Someone help please?
Sounds like a hardware problem, loose cable of some sort I would guess. Try to wipe and flash any 1.6 roms to rule out the bad 2.1 rom. Not likely but worth a try.
Good luck.
My phone LCD backlight went out but other than that worked fine. After installing a new screen the phone will not boot past the moto logo.
I can get into recovery and charge only but if I try to boot normally it goes blank after the moto logo not even showing the boot animation.
Reinstalling old LCD allows it to boot but with no backlight is unusable.
Anyone have any ideas?

Assuming you are 100% sure you've hooked everything up correctly, it sounds to me like a faulty/incorrect screen. I've read about this happening to other people (Bionics, though), luckily (so far) I've never had any issue with any screen replacements.
I'll check the connections again. The replacement screen came from a damaged Droid 4 that would not even show the moto logo.
I was lazy and rather than open it all the way and replace only the screen I swopped the whole upper part of the phone slide. I'll try doing it the right way.
Edit: checked all connections and tried again. Still no go.
Where is my torx 3 bit!
Edit 2: tried again. Still works with old screen switching only the screen (and the things that CAN NOT be separated from it) still won't boot. looks like I need a new screen.
Did you buy a broken D4 and try to swap the screen? If so, that unfortunately might be why it was broken in the first place... The plus is that might then be an easy fix too... Then you'd have two!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I did get a broken D4. It had a bad board and would not even show the moto logo.
What's really strange is yesterday it was still not working and today it booted fine but now the touch screen is not working.
I'll keep trying to fix it.
Honestly it sounds to me like the front portion is busted. Perhaps it is just the digitizer that is broken, those tend to be much cheaper than LCDs...
Good luck and let us know how it pans out, it is always good to hear solutions to hardware problems!
Both touch screens/digitizers work with the lcd that has a bad backlight but not the one with the good backlight.
I examined the LCD with the good backlight and found a very small tear in the ribbon. Looks like I found the problem.
Hello,
I have sent my gnexus off to be repaired this week and recently started to use my old milestone until my other phone is repaired. Phone was working fine, a little slow to my nexus but it was better than nothing. I was checking my emails and stuck my phone in my pocket to cross the street, when I pulled it out again, the screen would light up (glow) but the screen was black, I tried pulling the battery and rebooting but to no avail. I can feel the phone vibrate when I slide my finger across to unlock it and tap icons, but nothing is being displayed. I'm wondering if anybody else has had something like this happen and if it is possible to fix relatively easily?
If you don't get anything on the screen anymore I'm afraid it's a hardware failure.
Maybe the connector cable is broken (partially), I guess...
I guess Eiertschik is right.
In the boot process, does the M logo show up?
Hi I replaced my cracked and non functional screen with a new one.
After I charged the device which did shoe me a charging scree the device wont boot into anything or it does and i have a black screen.
When i try to boot it I see the Android splash screen the a black screen.
After a few minutes the phone makes a sound and then after a few more it makes another sound but appears to be non responsive after that.
I was thinking of trying to load a new image but am not sure if that would work or not.
Anyone have any ideas?
I have a red magic 3 with a black screen problem. It happened to me before and but fixed on its own. The problem before was a backlight problem because I could see (barely of cause). But now, nothing. The phone did not fall on the ground, besides it has a case protection. The problem happened when I manually turned off the screen and it never came back on. I have the LED indicator showing me that the phone is on but nothing else. The vibration happens when I unlock it so it's not a touch screen problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Does it show boot logon when it starts? Try to boot into recovery mode and do a reset if possible
