They had nothing to download in their thread, just a link to their own site. A violation of XDA rules. And in their own site Darky himself lied in a thread and called CheckRom an exact copy of DarkyRom. And when confronted with that they just deleted my useraccount, so they can lie but not take critics for it - so I think their childish behaviour can stay on their own site

I dont care about your beef. I just like their ROM, its the best period. You guys should squash that.

If you like their bugridden rom just go to their decitaded site for their Roms and download it there - not so hard

I do, every day. And, im waiting on the new 3.0 with ICS release. It would just be nice to get more users involved like before. (not bug ridden for me btw)

I put it to xda atention that there whas no download in there thread. Xda is not a search engine ore start page. We want to see downloads and not ad threads.

You are going to draw unwanted attention from a mod so I suggest you stop doing what you are doing in the fashion in which you are doing it. These restrictions are in place for a reason, mostly to stop spam posters.

If you have any other question afterwards you will know what to do.
One other thing. Is it so much to ask that you read for a bit first, pick up some knowledge and experience, help a few people in the 90+% of the site which is completely open to you, to participate with quality posts instead of BS posts, in return for being able to post into any of the ROM threads from any dev on this site?

There are already so many threads here in OT that you can post to for your ten post, it should be extremely easy for anybody that takes one minute to look. Use the 'game threads' like last letter and similar word and such. Problem solved.
EDIT: Mods, why not make it so new users can't start a new thread until the 10 post limit is reached?

ot is not an acceptable place to gain your first ten posts, I spend far too much time trimming the post counts of cretins who think they can slip in here unnoticed and spam their way to the dev section.

Well I obviously wasn't recommending he do that for purposes of being able to spam dev forums!! Its not like I am telling a secret loophole or anything, what I said to do should be common sense to anybody except the OP right? If it's that big of a deal then new users shouldn't be able to post in OT either. I'm just saying that's better than starting a new thread with no topic.

Yeah I appreciate that, but in general, most new threads created by new users have already been created plenty of times before. I done it myself, so I know that.
Granted, it's not an ideal situation but at least it would solve the issue, to a certain degree.

Yeah, that goes for new and senior members.
To the OP...I would suggest you visit a few forums. We have tons. Get to know the site and the community. Make some helpful posts and contribute to the forums in a positive way.

I say, OT posts count for your post count, but you need 100 posts to even see the link to the OT forum. lol

Nobody is talking down to him. New users have to start somewhere, and pointing them in the direction of the forum dedicated to their device seems like a good idea.

Hello everyone,
I've been pondering over some project to divert my time on and well recently I've begun to notice the somewhat unorganized mess XDA has become. So I thought of the fabulous idea of creating a new website made strictly for ROMs, Kernels, Rooting, & Unlocking Bootloaders. The website would have separate sections for each device, then differing versions of the device, then for android version, and then finally for type of development. For example AT&T Galaxy S3 CM12 rom would be found under Galaxy S3>AT&T>Lollipop>Roms>Cyanogenmod 12.
Get it? Super organized, super easy to find things.
What do you guys think? Is this something worth investing my time in? Or should I just give u on this little project? Be brutally honest please. After all there is no point on building a website that nobody will ever use.

Your biggest issue is people dont really leave xda. Developer wise most are keen to stay here because support and friends are here i imagine. Also logistically trying to support even half the phones xda does and have it so organised into just what the phones are compatible with, along with paired Q&A + general threads would be immensely time consuming and would require more than a few people to keep up with the flow. Not even considering user mistakes with roms added in the wrong forum. While it would be a good idea i wouldnt attempt it. The mods are always willing to listen to new ideas to help keep the forums tidy though. Maybe try help out closer to home?
