Relax-v1.0 CM4.2.* Metamorph 15/12/2009
I have come to the conclusion that light colored themes result in me keeping a dimmer screen, which results in a significant increase in battery life. Thus I decided to make a custom theme for my G1. I am in the final months of my PhD dissertation, and thus wanted a soft relaxing theme to look at when stressed. The outcome is dedicated to the most relaxed creature I know, my rabbit Cloverdale.
I want to thank Stericson for making this possible, and for such an excellent app (I hated to sign zips on ubuntu). Here is what I have used from other devs:
1. djengizz: I used your blue droid boot shine png, your framework-res files for eclair, and your battery pngs for the lockscreen. In addition, I used your files for Meltus's audio hack, which I thank you both for.
2. jroid: I used your Droid font metamorph pack, it looks so good.
3. Nebrada: I used your notification bar from the plastic theme.
Thank you to everyone.
In addition, I have made my own lockscreen, a custom boot animation, and added many nice wallpapers to the launcher. Feel free to use anything from this theme that I have done.
There are two themes, one with, and one without the lockscreen:

Since this is a personal theme that I am sharing, and I am swamped with work, I will not be doing custom orders, but I will update as Cyanogen does (or when bored)

I was angry this morning, if anyone is still running this theme, and wants updates, just send me a PM and I will take care of you. I am just very disturbed how this person knows my wives name, and whom they could be. I know that the person is named shane, and has gmail address [email protected], but that is all I have found so far. He has been banned from many other forums (including wikipedia), so info on him is scattered. I am honestly a little worried that my wife has a stalker.
But, as I said before, it is quite unfair for me to stop updating because of one person, so let me know if you use this, and I will take care of you.

I sincerely apologize for this then, as it coincidentally happened at a very bad time. My wife has had someone messing with her, sending sexual/violent messages and images, and you coincidentally used her name in the post. This really freaked me out, and I am sorry for the way in which I responded, but I have feeling very protective of her with all that has been going on.
My apologies again, I was completely in the wrong here.

So can we get posted updates again then?

Please do update when you have the chance. There are so very few light themes out there. Everyone is doing all these dark, almost gothic themes.
(Truth be told, Plastic was my favorite theme, but nobody updates it anymore.)

Quick question,
From what I remember, this theme was written in a way that it should still work, are there issues arising when it is flashed?

I dont care if this gets erased but I cant take it any more people using my graphics and not paying respect to who made it. I have had a week of seeing my rom get ripped and look in this section and everyone is using my stuff and not giving credit I dont mind but put from who and where you got it.
XDA you need to check this crap its really not fare,oh and I dont make this for others to make themes get donations and credit for my work.

I fully understand your reasoning behind wanting credit.
However, it's not really the responsibility of XDA to patrol themes and see who is using who's graphics. My theme was originally a cobble of lots of other people's designs....and I made sure you (and the other devs) got the credit you all deserved. However, some of the images I grabbed from each person may have come from others - and sometimes did. A polite PM or post in my thread, and I made sure they were given due.
That's all it requires. I'm sure no one is "stealing" your work and not putting your name out of malice. Just post a polite message, or send a PM. This is an open development community. These things happen. Newbies have to get used to the scene - like we all did when we first started.

Its not the fact that people use man but themers are getting stuff and paying credit to the theme they got it from and in a nut shell its from me. I am not not that but my work takes hours after hours and copy and paste takes a few min to do its a slap in the face but you know what if people want to come up that way its cool. I cant even believe this s#it so its not xda prob that they have themes and roms that are hacked off peoples hard work and putting out bunk.

I believe there are at least a few of us on here that use our own work, and otherwise are certain to give credit. I for one have not used one thing from your theme (though it was always a favorite of mine).

we all know you are a theming machine. but i feel you on this one

examples would help illustrate your point..

i agree, using peoples work without credit sucks, although i think sometimes people just forget or something and a simple reminder gets the job done.

Can you give me some examples?
Im interested since ted had the sam prob with people using his hero bar in themes.

stupid htc should stop letting people get ahold of their images.

Pretty much most of the themes we see are just mashups. Copy and pasting bits and pieces from one theme to another to make it look like something original. I'm guilty of that myself (especially with little things like check boxes). I always try to give credit though because for the most part I just make them for myself and then post them here for anyone who likes it to use, not to get credits to boost my ego. For the rippers that do, shame on you and give the man credit. If you can remember to give Sterricson credit for starting it, and still give JF credits, you can remember to give Manup and thumb up. Hell, I owe him plenty just for inspiring me.

i have a example go to your themes at the bottom of your post and look at the launcher.apk for the nexus themes

I understand, man. But Enoch started as mostly Copy/Paste from Oreo by brandenk with clock/widget graphics by yourself and Ted417, and status icons by MOONSSPOON. Over time, I learned how to develop my own images, edit .9.pngs and xml files, and the inner workings of the SDK.
However, your original point still stands. In the OSS community, credit is important.

i use a few of your graphics and am very appreciative, i however make sure to say that i take no credit on my theme work, just credit for the compilation of the graphics into one theme

When i first posted about the respective theme in the corresponding thread
I said if i used things from somewhere else and i dont take credit for X,Y,Z

Y'all should just make a theme team, join forces and all work together on themes as a single unit. Make a name for the unit/team then life will be much easier. Credit will just goto the team and no one has to worry about credit etc. All of y'all especially you manup got mad skills with this theming/rom thing. I hear you completely but being humble is a virtue of a true leader. Personally if I saw parts of my creations (i ain't got none ...i'm just sayin') in other's work, I would feel honored and almost get tingles inside on some "look at my children blossom" lmao. either way just my 2 cents

i think you are in the wrong post this post is on giving credit by not taking credit is not giving it when i posted the nexus launcher which was not hard to make as some of the images came from the nexus.i posted if you use it give credit don't be a hater i just gave a examples

It is very simple to find the launcher images that would need to be found and replaced.

[THEME]Porting Starts soon. Taking Requests now

I just wanted to say how ez it was to pose as some noob ... (samsungfan05) on IRC and get the knowledge of how to change the status bar on Generation X to the Revolution 3.6 solid black bar. All you have to do is, go into the framework.apk that is in your theme that you want to use as the base using your rar/zip program and drag n drop the images from the framework in the theme you want to take stuff out of, into res/drawable-hdpi in the base themes framework.apk ... APKs evidently open up with zip programs so i could have been doing this since i had my nexus one. hell i think i might post my dock i used and made for my iphone it was hella slicc. The whole process is really simple as hell I just wanted anyone that wondered if you can do this sort of thing (i used to decompile and customize themes like hell on iOS) in android, you can. it's not any more involved either... just drag n drop. if you can't pull that off... kill yourself.
So, no more can you port this theme threads for me, i'm just going do the **** myself... or if someone has a requests, for a generous donation, i will port it for you since I am well on the way to doing so. Peace

There is actually a lot more to it.then just editing the drawable hdpi.folder in the framework...,most of make at.minimum edits to over to.xml.files in the frameworks......and use smali/backsmali to edit the service.jars
Also why did you have to pose as someone else to get information...,everyone is more than willing to share what they know

good point...personally i refuse to take donations for theme ports and ive done like 5 or 6 at this point....but really again...there is much more to themes than drag and drop

There really is. I've been playing with it a bit in an attempt to port the NeonGT theme from the i9000 but there's more to it than swapping a few .png's and apparently I'm not totally getting it yet. A few more hours of learning and I think I'll have it down though.

in terms of total number of files? then yeah its mostly pngs...but really the xml edits are what do it imo
if you need any help with what files/programs you need to get going just pm me and ill help ya out

I would love if you got neon gt on my fascinate.
however I do understand all the work that goes in to it.
I'd like learn about this kind of stuff, is therea tutorial or overview anywhere?

theres not one tutorial per say (well updated one) personally i scoured xda/mydroidworld/af and bit by bit have found most of what ive needed...its kinda jumbled

whata duche. hey everyone, im gonna charge for this open source stuff that i ripped off someone else and changed a few icons. you can get it free from, well right here on this web site, but...give me money cause im awsome.

[REQUEST] Meizu by Z25

I normally don't request themes as the themers and devs here have satisfied all of my needs but I came across this:

and I was wondering if anybody was up to porting it to ComROM 2.0
I understand it is a CM7 theme being ported to a TouchWiz based ROM but it can still be done.
Anyways, if nobody is up to it, it isn't a huge deal. I may be the only one who wants it but I would appreciate it if somebody tried.

Thats really nice. If no other themer wants to do it, I guess I can try, It will give me something to do, I never had cm7 or played with it so I dont know how similar it is to non cm7. Ill try though.
Edit: Just looked thru the hdpi, every file has a different name, this will take forever to do. Sorry. ;P Im too lazy to change every single .png to match ours

Nicee, good man. Im sure you can find someone to take on this theme. It is nice, Ive never done cm7 before, but looking through the files it looks like everythings all in 1 place and every png has different names. I could definitely do it, but Im way to lazy to change every png. This seems like something nitsuj would do, This is a basic miui theme, and he does have miuiwiz so he would know how to do this more than me. It is nice though.

He failed to get permission to port the theme so the mods closed the thread. He probably could've got permission but he basically told the original themer to **** off so I doubt we'll see this theme on our phones any time soon.

Dude I know your 17 and whatever ...but there are still forms and protocols to be followed...eg nitsuj17 specifies use what u like just credit appropriately...another example is xeodous and dakeover who created dark edge explicitly say no ports without their approval.
Don't end up alienating yourself from a group of people willing to share and teach you. This is one of the most chilled device forums on the board. Let's show proper form and courtesy.

Yeah you really need to be clear on whats in your theme and tell everyone who made the other things in your screenshot. The statusbar is rover.prince's maker of rovers mixer theme and the dockbar I made.
Now I know usually that dockbars are not included in theme chooser themes so Im not worried but still not cool. Would just like credit where its due!

Taking work of others and making a theme is okay, IF you give them credit, and DO NOT charge for it. If u want to charge for work, it needs to be original work don't by urself. Otherwise ur making a mixer theme and trying to profit off of others work, no buenos .

The dock is not my work and I am not taking credit for it. The theme itself I made in UOT kitchen with the icons provided theron so is it my theme? Yes is it my dock? No. nice work to the themers whom credit is due
