I have the L90 D415 running cm 12 lollipop. I have only found one bug so far. I cannot record video. Could this be fixed? I really need my video recorder for school tomorrow. Thanks!

It's a known issue that has no fix as of yet. This is a problem with just about all the custom ROMs.

Maybe it's a different variant....my phone is a D415.
Porting a fix?
Is it possible to port one of this fixes that I found for other phones? They are for cm 12 as well but just a different device?

I'm on Candy 5 rom, so maybe that's the reason.
I'm on the same ROM as the guy in the video and my video recorder is shot. What should I do? Is there anything I can edit or flash to fix this?

I also need this fix. My only problem with this phone is that the recording is shot when using custom ROM. Can anyone post back with a fix if any exists? I can use the Wondershare PowerCam which lets me record video but only at 480p 24fps which is extrenely bad quality. Also, the pictures taken on AOSP roms are really crappy looking almost like 1MP.
Any remedies for these issues would be greatly appreciated by me and lots of others. We appreciate your time spent helping

Its not hat good anywa. Any action at all will smudge n blur... no refocus...etc

@ohgood, try one of the latest nightly ROMs... touch to focus is implemented in the video recorder as well.
@mostwantd1, 720p video recording involves several modified libraries and files. I don't think there is a mod which allows the mod to be installed on a stock ROM. I don't know much about the 720p mod, so I can't comment further

i should clarify, once it's recording, the focus is set... which means no changing from near/far.
i suppose you could focus infinity and then keep on going ... i'll try it out.

No, you can refocus while recording.
Hello guys I'm currently using cm 7.2 you know it doesn't have the official lg camera (tried to install it FC) so please I want camera app has the same functions as official camera app
Auto foucs -> all choices in camera app
Shot mode -> especially panorama and smile detection
Also if this app can contain pause to video recording
So what is this app ??

My bad for bumping a few months old topic but I had the same issue as the OP and this was probably the only place I can see fit for me to post.
Anyways, I followed what you have said to get Camera IC's.. I got it and its working great! Pretty much like the stock camera but I have a problem however, there's an issue with the framerate... Would there be a solution for this?

What third party video camera app can i use? I can not find any that seem appropriate.
Another thing I noticed is that when I use the camera or gallery, after some time it crashes

So you saw the description - which one is more stable / faster f. e. in app switching + gaming etc.? Battery and bugs are same I guess. Also I'm talking about newest builds .

for me RR works really good. flashed latest update by emui 4.1.... no problem. I'll test when I'll travel tomorrow
yoo, does bluetooth work on RROS? cuz on aokp it turns on, finds devices, but cant connect, also video recording doesnt work as YouTube 720p 60fps

Yo, no, I haven't. I'm still lazy to roll back to stock EMUI then updating ?. I just wanna know, which one of them is better. I don't have priorities, just smoothness is number one for me. So I struggle to choose :/

I don't use Bluetooth, so I can't tell. YT 720p60 doesn't work on any ROM yet!!!

Try AOSPA The best for me.
Hi. I am interested in getting this phone.. But most of the camera tests I see online, the images are too dark. Also, strangely, although images are generally underexposed, they still somehow manage to blow out highlights sometimes.
I am very impressed with the camera quality apart from the issues stated above, but surely they are software issues and can be fixed with a patch or alternative camera app?

Everything can be fixed and by far improved using the GCam. Search the thread for examples.

Plus most apps need a root to install?
I wouldnt wan't to buy a phone and risk installing an app and then can't send it back if I'm not happy.

There was one where the Stock camera was better I think.
But all the others the Gcam looked quite a lot better.
And does the Gcam also give better video recording?
