[Q] Cell bands uk and france - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does uk and france use the same radio bands for 3g and 4g? I'm asking cause I'm thinking about getting one from France as it's alot cheaper (£90 cheaper), I personally don't mine not having the uk plug but £90 cheaper is very very tempting. Also if I sell my nexus 5, in totally I will be paying on £288

There are only 2 models. North American Model and Rest of the World (international), so Yes, France, UK, Anywhere in Europe, Asia, Aftrica.... all use the same model

Thank you, God this is too tempting >.<

LG 2x UK order on USA T-Mobile?

Hi, i wanted to find out from you UK fellows or anyone with knowledge if i was to order the LG Optimus 2x from expansys seing that it will be available on 3/30/2011, will it work on USA T-Mobile carrier. I looked at LG UK's site and it has the T-Mobile (1700/2100) band. Am i to assume this will give me USA T-Mobile 3g/4g network?
BTW, how much am i looking at for total cost in Dollars. The last time i used the conversion it was over $700.00
I really don't know when T-mobile is going to carry this phone and they are not saying anything.
Thanks.
I'm sorry but that simply isn't possible at the moment. You see, T-Mobile USA uses AWS Bands 1700/2100. AWS is a technology that is only used in North America and is different from phones sold in the UK even if they are of the same band. You could still buy a 2X from the UK but it will only work at EDGE speeds. As for the US launch, I've heard that T-Mobile USA is actually going to be selling the 2X as the G2X in late March. Hopefully you could wait a couple more weeks. =)
Thanks for that info. I can never get these band/AWS stuff. I just know tmobile is 1700/2100. I guess i will wait few more weeks. If nothing comes out it might just be the Nexus S for me and then next year get a dual core.
the 2X is going to be coming to T-Mobile USA as the LG G2X. The phone is rumored to be out late this month or early next month.

what are the Z variations and Clove preorder

Hi I know some body posted a white paper some where before that shows the difference between different variations of the Z. Can someone show me what are the difference as the search's been down for past 2 hours for me.
I am also planning to pre-order it from Clove, do we know what variation they'll be offer already? Anyone from the US planning to import it and use it with AT&T?
Much appreciated.

they have the c6603, the 3g won't properly. It has the 850 frequency but it is missing the 1900 frequency radio. i recommend that you get c6602 or wait for the c6606, the c6602 is the hspa+ model and the c6606 will be lte enabled that supports at&t lte and 3g.
Gotcha, thank you!

if I want the free speakers from the clove pre-order, can I still use the c6603 on ATT with HSPA+? I don't really need LTE.
will LTE-enabled devices like the c6603 have less battery even if i'm not using the LTE?

it'll work in some places
use this map to find out whether or not it will work where you live.
(i don't know how accurate the information on the map is) (http://www.cellularmaps.com/att_850_1900.shtml)
Do you think, I will be able to use the US LTE version of the Z in Germany? If not, which US version will work in Germany?
I'm planning to buy it in the US since I have to travel a lot and will be 'round the globe for the next few years. Is the Dockingstation usable with 110V and 230V or do I have to use a power transformator?
Thanks so far.
I know, this is my first post, it wont be the last

There is no power supply in the dock - you will have to connect an external.
Hi!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
So I guess the OEM power supply will be Europe-compatible?

I am thinking on importing one from Clove to the US. I live in North Carolina and ATT recently acquired Alltlel and will have more 850Mhz coverage on the ast coast

If Sony doesnt have any news on C6606 model tomorrow during MWC im going to get C6603 model deal from clove since its the best and cheapest offer available. Expansys USA will carry C6602 model but its a bit overpriced around $770 and it doesn't come with any freebies

Do you have a link?
It'll be a while before the C6602 and C6606 hit the stores, they're not certified yet (PTCRB), and that usually happens at least a few weeks before the release.
How about for the T mobile U.S?

Looks like Expansys updated the specs page, seems they are going to carry C6603 model instead

If you live in the Gulf region, ex. Dubai, C6602 will be launched on Feb 28, they are taking pre-orders at Sony retails such as Jumbo Electronics.

[Q] Intl version. Will it work on all US networks? + more silly questions

Hey !
I am thinking of buying HTC One when it is on sale here (India). I am not sure that HTC is gonna roll-out the LTE enabled version of the One or just the 'normal' 3G one. I am mostly moving to the US for grad studies and I was thinking whether to buy the LTE enabled version or the normal (I'll call it that) version when I do. Should I buy the phone from India itself or from US? I don't think they would ask for residential proof or something to buy a sim-free unlocked phone.
I am kinda confused about the whole LTE thing as I feel it is..well a luxury item i guess?
And the main question, if I buy the phone from here........I think it would work only on limited GSM networks, right ?
The different phone specs have been posted in this forum by me and others.
There are US carrier specific versions because US carriers use different technologies and frequencies.
Mixed support, be careful. International models will have no 4G in the US. Your best bet is grabbing an asian model (also shipping in australia) as this has the correct 3G bands for AT&T, the euro model does NOT. T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon all need their own specific models.

Okay, Thanx. Will keep that in mind before I buy. I guess going with the asian model (also ships in India) would be safe

Developer edition band frequency

I'm looking to buy the developer edition from HTC, but i'm worried about the LTE bands since I would be moving between the US and Hong Kong.
Over here I'm using T-mobile, and if IIRC Hong Kong LTE are all 1800 / 2600
Will this version work in both countries?

I am in the same boat as you... I bought the dev edition and i travel between Seattle and HK a lot... As for LTE I guess I wont really care about that since I am just used to 3G anyways. other than that Because the bands for USA and HK for LTE are different you will have to choose between having LTE in one of the countries, you currently cant have both.
BUT if you travel between HK and EURO a lot you would better be off with the HK version since its the same LTE bands.
Just as a note i dont have my phone yet.. I had it shipped to my address in seattle then someone sent it to me here in HK should be here by friday and ill let you know if i have LTE but i highly doubt it haha.
this should help you out a bit http://xda7.androidrevolution.nl/db_mirror/ROMs/HTC_One/variants.png

Nokia Lumia 1520 LTE support in canada

Hi all sorry for my english
I would love to purchase the new Lumia 1520 but not easy to find here in Canada.
Luckily I found one in a store but was told its the international version that was released in Honk Kong she also told me it runs on the 2600hz or something like that
Is there a way for me to know 100% if it will support LTE here in Canada?
Thanks in advanced.
A) depends on the carrier
B) the bands that the phone supports, and the bands each carrier uses, are a matter of public knowledge. Look them up!
Hi, I'm from Turkey. A friend of mine had a BlackBerry 9900 formerly and it supports 3G. He had bought it from Europa, so in Turkey, although it supports 3G, doesn't work. He had to spin out using 2G.
