Hello,
I have been searching and looking. Is there a way to get the lollipop on a n900a? If so, what needs to be done? I don't think it's as simple as flashing the Cyanogenmod12 on a rooted 4.4.4. Any links or ideas how to get this to work?
Thanks in advance.
no. not until att releases an update.
How about using a safestrap?
nope. we need a leak or official release that has a kernel for lollipop.
Did you have to downgrade back to 4.4.2 and then upgrade to 4.4.4 with the stock kernel just curious. I seen that you were running a rooted 4.4.4?

There's a leak already here on xda, not yet for us, I wish somebody would make it work for us . http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/general/guide-t2983873
RoloRacer on KillerKat Note 3
So disappointed that AT&T are dragging there feet on releasing Lollipop 5.0
Wish we could find a version out there for SM900A
Still looking for a complete guide to getting on a working version of 5.0+ rooted, xposed sm-900A... even if it requires Odin's great wrath.
Behold... It Works...

The only issue I'm having is the mic... other than that, I've got it rooted although SS won't work on this version... supposedly.
Enjoy.

Android 5.0 (Lollipop) Bootloader and KitKat Compatibility
Everyone wants Lollipop, however it is worth considering some of the possible consequences of upgrading via OTA update.
Bootloader:
A new Bootloader (BL) will almost certainly be included in the OTA update. It is also very likely no KitKat Kernel, stock or custom will be able to boot properly with the 5.0 BL. Perhaps the Kernel DEVs can find a workaround.
Root: (ETA: Unknown)
It may take some time to gain root access on Lolipop as on other devices this has required a custom Kernel. A custom kernel itself may require kernel sources to be released - something that has taken weeks / months in the past.
Xposed Framework:
Developer has said he will wait for CyanogenMod based on Lollipop before properly starting development of an ART version of Xposed. CM12 may take a few weeks to release. Expect to do without Xposed for at least a month, probably longer since root is also required (see above.)
Custom Recovery:
This has not been an issue before, but it is always possible a new Bootloader could break compatibility with existing Custom Recoveries. Obviously, you would not be able to restore a CWM / TWRP backup without a functional custom recovery; but even then, it is unlikely you will be able to boot your KitKat backup.
Custom ROMs:
This is another area that could be affected by a new Bootloader. It is unknown if existing custom ROMs will require new Kernels / system changes in order to work with the new BL - something that could take days, weeks or months.
Performance:
Currently the performance difference between KitKat and Lollipop is unknown. If the first release of Lollipop for Android One has performance issues, you may be unable to revert back to stock KitKat.Possible solution:
Wait for a flashable zip [NOT OTA Update zip] of Stock Android One Lollipop ROM - this would mean your Bootloader remains at it's current version and potentially allowing you to change 'back and forth' between Stock KitKat and Stock Lollipop. However, it is currently unknown if the newer BL is a requirement for Android 5.0 Kernels.
This is taken from the Moto G thread and all credits goes to @lost101.The sole motive of this is to create awareness about the new bootloader included in 5.0
Thanks For The Info @DC07 :highfive:
Thanks For The Information Bruda !!
This thing is only for device like motorola, samsung etc.. As I never saw same thing for nexus.. Motorola does not allow to downgrade so they update bootloader in every android version update.. I dont think it will be same for sprout

Nope. The bootloader was updated on my nexus 7 flo for the 4.4.2 OTA. Since this update is much bigger I think we'll have a bootloader update too.

Let him take his time. This will make our lollipops taste more sweet
doubts about lollipop arise
Greetings all. Just a quick question....I just got my new S2 Tab (TMobile) and it's on 5.0.x.
I'm reluctant to update it to 5.1.1 if it doesn't need to. From what I've seen so far there are ROM's only for the 9.7" on 5.1.1.
Are we able to roll back to 5.0.x with ease or is it a one way ticket to 5.1.1?
Is there a firmware version to avoid, where it would lock the bootloader to only being able to use 5.1.1 and up from that point on after the flash?
* I'm not a fan of LP to begin with, but am having to live with it like we all are on the Tab S2. The closer to KK the better, for me....as things are getting more and more locked down stripping us from our Android freedom, I'd like to stay as far back on 5.0.x as possible.
I must be able to run xposed, xprivacy and other work apps without issues or doing gymnastics just to get it to work, hence why I want to stay as close to 5.0.x as possible. Even though I may be able to run such apps on 5.1.1 as well.... I'm trying to stay away from 5.1.1 unless there are some doubtful advantages over 5.0.x.
Thanks.
I'd say no real advantage to 5.1.1 if you have a stable 5.0.2.
Rolling back shouldn't be an issue as long you don't flash a revision 2 Firmware.
No reason to be on either now, upgrade to MM 6.0.1 , more responsive all around.

Thanks. I've just got another 9.7" Tab S2 (64GB) and it is on BOJ1 (Released: 8/10/2015)
The ROM's for the 9.7" S2 are for BOH7 (Released: 8/31/2015)
I am wanting to roll back to 5.0.2, however, I actually do not see any ROM's (9.7") for it. I must have confused the 5.0.2 ROM specifically for the 8" S2, being for the 9.7" as well...oops...
Okay so for now it looks like I have to odin (BOH7) to run one of the few 5.1.1 ROM's available for the 9.7" ...
I am downloading the BOH7 firmware from here. This is the right one yes? Also, this is free of revision 2?
Also, how do I make sure to avoid the revision 2 firmwares?
Thanks.
I've been rooted since KitKat (4.4), currently on Lollipop (5.0) and I believe my bootloader is still unlocked. How do I confirm this?
I'd like to upgrade it to Marshmallow 6.0/6.0.1, if that's possible. Any recommended path to the soft goodness of MM?
Of course.
Step 1: Don't

Well now because there are not official builds just yet, the ones uploaded were just test builds that apparently work smoothly but some apps don't work (android pay), if you manage to update and the official build comes out you will have to back up your data and wipe over and over again.
And you will also lose that sweet root permanently.
Hello,
I bought unlocked galaxy note 4 from best buy. model number is N910T2. this phone came with kitkat 4.4.4, i would like to update it to lollipop.
when i tried to do software update through the phone itself was telling me its up to date. kies3 also didn't give any updates.
does any one know how get this phone updated?
Thank you,
Damn shun
I believe that's a rent a center phone that was never updated and is stuck on 4.4.4. For those with the 910t, we can flash that from 6.0.1 and it works just fine but t3 units can't. I don't know about going to up'er firmwares but you could try Odin and flash 5.1.1 DOK for the tmobile 910t, let me know how that goes. If that doesn't work flash twrp recovery on 4.4.4 build from here
http://twrp.me/
Then go here and flash this rom and be good to go.

Good luck.

Cuz I have flashed 910t2 firmware on my 910t so I'm sure the reverse applies so do it in odin!
yeah i own a 910t2 from rent a center you can flash all the same firmware i have odin flashed every firmware since kit kat and tons of custom stuff just treat it as a normal tmo note 4. the only one thats different is the t3
Treat this phone as if it were an N910T. I bought it a few weeks ago from Best Buy, and so far I have successfully flashed DOK2 and EPE3 firmware (modems/bootloaders, as well as full firmware) with no issues using Odin 3.11.1. EPG2 flash failed the only time I tried it (not sure if incompatible or just a one-off).
ROMs I've ran so far are: FireKat (Nadia kernel required), CMRemix, Beanstalk, TEKXodus HYBRID N4 URv7.4R2, N5 Express 3.4D, and Maximum OvrDriVE 6.0.1 MM V3.2.
Kernels I've ran are: Nadia Nightly r7 [OG1], BeastMode 1.9.2 Rage [DOK2], BeastMode r56.8 Rage [PE3], Emotion nightly r23 RC1 [DOK2], Emotion Stable r26 RC1 [PE3], and BeastMode Stock SimplyRoot [DOK2]. All kernels I've tried have worked just fine except for the Emotion kernels - my phone would not deep sleep with either one, and I tried the 5.1.1 kernel on multiple ROMs with same result (which made me sad because I really want the DT2W feature..).
Currently on the TEKXodus ROM with the BeastMode Stock SimplyRoot kernel and it's running like a champ.
Hey everyone! After lurking for weeks and doing updates I signed up to give props and dig a little deeper....
I started with a G870A running 4.4.2 NG3 and needed to enable VoLTE, following r0ckarongs effortless tutorial I updated to 6.0.1 QD1 through the individual updates.

Here you can find the update files for the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active (G870A) from AT&T General Remarks (Important): This does NOT work for S5 Actives from Verizon. These updates WILL REMOVE ALL your data. Make a backup with Smart Switch first...

Unfortunately, I read numerous reviews of KK vs LP, KK vs MM, LP vs MM and thought 6.0.1 would be the way to go......and I looooathe it!
Has anyone developed a smooth method of downgrading from the 6.0.1 version back to 4.4.2 or 4.4.4?
Tips on AT&Ts bloatware removal would also be helpful....
Thanks in advance for any and all assistance!
I don't think it's possible as ATT and Verizon locked the bootloader for their S5's effectively making it impossible or difficult to downgrade
42 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide
#1.1. Think that everyone's Samsung Galaxy S5 is the same as yours... Think again! There are currently 42 models of the Samsung Galaxy S5 phone. Most of which are covered in this General Galaxy S5 forum. Some of these models have already had as many as 24 different stock Samsung firmware...

That's what I'd found as well, along with a few that claimed success using numerous programs to start fresh - no confirmation on the accuracy of that though.
With the PH3 (6.0.1) update came a stock image containing the 6.0.1 bootloader, essentially making any previous device identical to one with factory installed MM.
I was thinking a stock image of KK 4.4.2 would function the same as the PH3 update by reverting the bootloader and OS, I can do most anything with a pc but Android's a new animal....so, I'm likely incorrect and have no idea wth I'm talking about. lol
Having tweaked and swapped a lot of pc software and OS I figure it may work since the older version OS would still match the original hardware - maybe someone will chime in that's tried it or has a copy of the KK factory image I can try installing. I actually have a NITB G870A....but haven't the faintest clue how to get a copy of the factory image off of it......
I appreciate the input Brother, thanks for the response!
