2k Res Bootanimations? - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know where to find some nice 2k boot animations? I'd love to get one of the Nexus One boot screen or some of the older Nexus devices.

There was a really good thread for these in the the LG G3 section. I found a few really good ones doing a general search too.

You'll have to extract the boot animation from the zip and manually install it and set permissions. Was how I got them to work.

The boot animation app is legit. But instead might I suggest rom toolbox? Its by the same people and includes that app along with others. I use it primarily to backup and restore apps.

I have no clue what qwerty remocon is, but the Nexus S should have the same DLNA compatibility as any other SGS phone so its just a matter of finding an app or modifying AllShare to work on the SNS

That is most likely true and it sounds like you need a TouchWiz phone :/
I like this phone much better than my former vibrant. I only asked because those galaxy variants have some great features. None would be worth going back to touchwiz proper and rfs and lag fixes, etc. Still, getting some hacked touchwiz framework to allow the installation of those great codecs and some of the apps another poster listed would be the best of both worlds, especially since this phone has MOST of the same hardware.

Miui v4 music app (ICS roms only)

This dude made a normally installable apk (don't even have to fuss with permissions) of the ICS Miui music app:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1517441
On the second page of that thread there's a version with ICS blue accents (instead of Miui orange).
I love it. But I do have to wonder if Google will ever open up the Google Cloud Music api for 3rd party music players. I have my whole library in Google Music and I'd like the freedom to use it with other apps!
A little buggy. Sizing is wrong in the now playing screen.

I can't install the .apk. I've had this problem before with my old Atrix 2. Usually a reboot would fix the issue but this time, no dice. And its not the .apk file as I tried it with files I've already installed. When I hit 'install' nothing happens. I did a quick search and I think this may be common among Motorola devices?
I probably should start a separate thread.
ETA: It was the screen adjuster that was blocking it. I found the solution.

is it better than the standard swype pre installed ?
I've never been a fan of Swype but this keyboard is pretty cool. Seems a lot more responsive than regular Swype. Some pretty nice features in 4.2. Not gonna bother with the clock, though. The circles are a nice touch.
To anyone that is having problems: make sure to move both the original LatinIME.apk and LatinIME.odex from /system/app.

I wasn't able to use it by just the apk . was always giving keyboard has stopped working . However managed to make it work by adding the required .so in lib .

2014 I'veRooted My N3, Now What?

So I search xda and couldn't find anything current.

I just rooted my att N3 using Kingo. So now what?
I installed root checker, but that's it.
What do you folks suggest one does with a freshly root N3?
backing up?
removing bloatware?
make the powerful N3 even better?
what things have you rooting pros done with your new N3,
are there "must do" things as well?
I know some of you have really improved your stock N3, what do you suggest one do fresh after rooting?
Titanium Backup is a must for freezing and/or removing bloatware.
After that, check out Exposed Framework and Wanam, That will keep you busy for a while.
I would recommend a custom ROM

Spend some time and flash any ROMs that appear interesting till you find one you like. Install Xposed framework and browse through all the modules and look for anything that interests you; Wanam and App Setting are probably the 2 most popular modules and sometimes installed already on custom ROMs.

ATT Note 3 android development thread is where all the ROMs made for our phone will be.
Welcome to the community! Titanium backup pro is a must if you're going to be romming and modding you're android devices. Custom roms are definitely the way to go especially being new to android modding. There are a few really smart dudes developing great custom roms for the n9005a. They do all the work that you would want done and they're really good at it. I recommend knoxraid by @drakeymcmb. He has been involved with romming this phone since before we had a recovery to flash from. There a bunch of helpful people that follow his thread.

What does the "Pro" version give you that the free version doesn't, (can't find any info on that in the play store)
Allows you to freeze apps, and allows for automated restore operations. Well worth the money if you plan on restoring backups across multiple roms.

[APHLA]MIUI V6 For Nexus 4

This is MIUI V6 Based Nexus 7.
It have some problem so it's aphla version.if you like, you can have a try.
MODERATOR EDIT:
Based on this http://en.miui.com/thread-15454-1-1.html page saying....
Please do not leak the ROM file! Or else you'll be removed from the team immediately!
As it's closed beta version, there're still many bugs. It's kind of risky to flash it.
Please think carefully before applying. Thanks!

i don't wanna sound rude but its 'alpha'
v6 means kitkat, right?
Feel free to ask if you need any help for make this fully working!! may be XDA community can help you.
Jing, did you noticed any major changes to v5?
Can you provide us with more screenshots please ? I wanna see how the v6 looks like
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Can´t find any official info about MIUI based on KitKat.
Is this real or fake ? because looks fake for me.
Its probably a port from the beta found here: http://www.miui.com/thread-1634372-1-1.html
It boots but it has a lot of FC`s
Navigation is impossible as we don't have navigation keys but its 4.4 and has a theme that looks like iOS 7.
Well, at last miui v6 is here! Hope that all the bugs will be squashed out!
I will also try to look into the problems like systemui fc tomorrow if I have time.
Looks to me that its because of the size cause the nexus 4 has a smaller screen size in DPI and resolution believe then nexus7.
Do you actually have permission to post your port here cause if you would leak a build then you would be kicked of the beta team.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
Hey, i am certain that you can not post private builds (like the Nexus 7 II beta), even if it is a port.
Also, i ran into the same SystemUI issue while porting to Nexus 5.
Seems to be related to non-existant/wrong layout defined for phones, i haven't found an fix for this yet. Feel free to share the fix if you find one.
Please continue with this. It looks awesome

I tried to explore the res/ folder of MiuiSystemUI to try finding the difference between the sw600dp (tablet layout) and the other values folders. I can't find anything wrong so i think the issue must be fixed in smali.
I removed SystemUI to explore the UI and MiuiHome crashed because it could not find an resource. Does MiuiHome crash for you as well? MiuiHome is probably dependant on MiuiSystemUI though.
