Anyone having the issue of hangouts not rotating to landscape? Everything else does, even in a specific hangout. It is just the main screen (where you can have the dialer, messages, and contact tabs across the top) of hangouts does not rotate, its kind of annoying since my phone holder is in landscape orientation in my truck.

i was wondering if there is a program to show a larger contact picture of the person when they call? thanks
Yes, use for example the S2U2 (Slide 2 Unlock), it will provide a bigger screen for incoming calls with a fullscreen picture.
This works best

Click to collapse
But only for certain things.
What it also does is it makes the contact pic's so large, that when you recieve an MMS message from a contact, the notification bubble will be half cut off.
I'm still looking for a solution for this.
Hi All,
Not sure if this has been covered but ive been unable to find any info on if it has.
Is it possible in the attached screenshot to have this view go portrait and landscape...i tried change screen and it doesn't work
Its annoying when replying to an sms that it defaults to portrait but when you create a new SMS it goes portrait or Landscape
Hi.
I've been running the MIUI ROM and really like it, except that I tend to compose SMS messages with the hardware keyboard and I can't get the SMS application to rotate to landscape mode.
Is this something wrong or is it not possible?
Thanks
So is anyone else having the issue that when you are in a conversation and lay the phone down still in the conversation screen you do not get notification for any messages until the phone locks. I find it annoying to have to close out of the conversation (basically home screen of hangouts) to be able to get notifications again.
I've scoured the web all morning, and I can't figure this one out. I know that with the default Samsung Messages app, notifications come in with little single line bubbles, instead of standard heads-up notification banners. Switching to the Android Messages app fixed that for me, but WhatsApp is doing it to. Is there a way to make WhatsApp use normal banners? I assume this a Samsung thing (my Essential Phone, Pixel 2 XL, and LG G7 didn't do this), and if so, where do I go to turn it off? WhatsApp was installed from the Play Store, so I wouldn't think it'd have any fancy Samsung modifications to it, but I can't find a setting in there for normal banners either. Neither Skype nor FB Messenger (with chat heads turned off; I hate them) exhibit this behavior, and show normal banners. What am I missing?
EDIT:
I figured it out. I had forgotten from forever ago that Edge Lighting changes the notification style. Turned that off, and now banners are working properly.
