I uploaded 32bit recovery to 64bit version. How fix! - HTC Desire 510

Hi.
By mistake I upload 32bit recovery to my 64 bit desire.
Factory Reset and Recovery don't work.
How can I fix this.
Please help me guys.

Don't worry, you will be fine. You need to boot into Fastboot and from the computer run
Code:
fastboot oem lock
and install the proper update for your phone. Do you have a RUU for your phone? If not, where are you and what is your carrier? Based on that I may have the right file for you.

Thanks for help.
I from Poland.
I only unlock bootloader .
Smartphone was buyed in ERA center.
Sorry but i'm noob.
android 4.4.3
version: htc sense
software version: 1.14.118.1
level htc sdk api
compilation version 1.14.118.1 CL383628 release keys

No need to be sorry! From what you told me I imagine you are with T-Mobile. If you are with Orange let me know and I will see if I have the file you need. If you are with T-Mobile do this:
1. Get this file https://mega.co.nz/#!yFRFBQxS!84jrZOLXKCvamxSGTcHNIuGeL3onkk7mZrK5kzjAmQU
2. Boot into Fastboot mode
3. From the PC run
Code:
fastboot devices
and you should see a reference for your phone.
4. From the PC run
Code:
fastboot oem lock
5. Execute the file you downloaded in step 1 Do this:
5.1. Rename it to 0PCVIMG.zip [That is a zero on the first character]
5.2. Place it on the your SD card [on the root of the card]
5.3. Reboot to HBoot and it will automatically install.
6. This step is optional, but I would recommend it. Unlock the bootloader, install TWRP, install root, do a TWRP backup. OPS...BETTER NOT... I THINK WE'RE STILL WAITING FOR A RECOVERY FOR YOU PHONE. I would just unlock the bootloader and this way when a recovery comes out for your phone you will be all set.
7. You should be happy now... let us know.
Remember, be patient... some of these steps take time... even booting for the first time takes a long time.

Thanks again.
I don't know how install this. Do I have to put this file in sd-card and run HBOT ?
Or install it in another way?

Sorry, I thought it was a .exe file; it's not, it's a zip file. Do this:
1. Rename it to 0PCVIMG.zip [That is a zero on the first character]
2. Place it on the your SD card [on the root of the card]

nasiono, the last sentence on the previous post reads: "Let us know how you made out." Did you do that? No. Also, in the last post, if you look at the lower right corner, there is a button that says Thanks! which you should hit, specially considering that in order to get the file that I shared with you costed me $15 or something like that.
ah... well... here you go... you better bring me a chicken or pig for me to roast for the weekend...
Download http://download.chainfire.eu/641/Sup...erSU-v2.40.zip and store it on the SD card, reboot to recovery, select install, select the file UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.40.zip and you should be all set.

I put file " HTC-Desire-510-64bit-Root.img" in adb folder .
Next I run command "fastboot flash boot HTC-Desire-510-64bit-Root.img" everything OK.
1. Now i run "recovery".
2. Press Vol up +power button
3. Press "apply from sd"
Then smartphon is reboting to normal system.
How can I install supersu.zip ?

From the Play Store, as it says on the OP "Install SuperSU from Play Store. Select cancel everytime it asks to update. It WON'T work".

[TUT] HTC Unlock/Recovery/Rooting *Noobs*

The Ultimate guide on how to do everything for noobs
Anyone taking these steps please be aware, you do this as your own choice/Risk....If you have anything important on your phone, back it up right now before you proceed....as everything will be wiped by the bootloader unlock!
Bootloader unlock.
Download this >http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?uma19r3pysr93dr
Unzip into a new folder on your c: called Android (C:/Android)
Plug your Phone into Computer/PC and select charge only.
Follow the guide precisely on HTC
1. Go to HTCDEV website: http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/
2. Click on "Begin Unlock Bootloader" (create a user if you don't have one)
3. follow the instructions step 1 through step 10 on htcdev.com
4. In step 10, when posting your token, make sure you remove the blanks preceding each line
5. After you receive your Unlock_code.bin in email, follow step 11.
6. Now your rezound should reboot and you have your bootloader unlocked.
so you have updated the HBOOT and unlock bootloader....
Good now for the next bit.
If by chance you cannot unlock via HTC Dev please tell me as i maybe able to help you on that.
I require knowing which RUU you have installed, this u will find out by using HTC Dev.
Using HBOOT 1.0.7 and updating should be easy and fast.
Installing CWM 5 (Recovery Menu)
Please also read my orther thread on recoverys...it hold same details with extras >http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1791707
This is a program installed into the phone itself.
This allows you to do pretty much anything you want.
Main things are Backup and restore of your device.
Flashing of custom Roms
Here is the recovery file >http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=852074&d=1326296914
Save the recovery.img and flash_image in the root of your adb folder.(this means C:/Android)
Now using DOS CMD window
goto C:/Android
*hint, copy the txt in these windows into your DOS window and press enter....it saves time and spelling errors*
DOS txt
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
it should now reboot and show Fastboot USB mode
DOS txt
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
from the hboot menu, go to recovery.
now if above doesn't work and you cannot get into bootloader to flash the cwm. follow this
pull out battery
insert battery
hold volume down key and press power at same time
Hboot will appear
scroll down and select bootloader option, press power.
and your ready now in fastboot usb mode
Rooting
Please note, this method is old, current methods are simply just flash a new rom!
All roms come Pre Rooted with all apps required to run with root (Superuser)
For details in these check out the Android Development forum in our salsa section.
or go here>http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1043
Download this file >http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?pypn6v69o0vnvl9
(This is outdated somewhat and requires updating via Google Play)
place this file on the base of your sd card.
Now goto your new recovery menu.
use this cmd from DOS Windows
Code:
adb reboot recovery
it will reboot automatically
1-Select Install Zip from SDcard
2-Choose Zip from SDcard
3-Find Root.Zip on the SD card
4-Scroll upto Yes-Install Root.zip
it will now flash the root.zip
5-Go back
6-Reboot System Now
Now from here you will have done the following
Unlocked your bootloader
Flashed recovery system
Rooted your stock device.
if by any chance you make a mistake which is not very likely, but odd chance u do...redo the steps per section till you get it right.
WIKI
Root-2 meanings
System root giving superuser access pr SU
Root of SD - meaning base of sd no folders
ADB Android debug bridge - used with dos commands when phone is plugged into computer via USB cable
extra Utilities are Java SDK

Download and install accordingly to instructions given.
this gives access to more functions via ADB

select debugging mode in settings>application>Development
if this is unchecked, check it. then try cmds.
if this is already enabled and it still dont work on cmds then reboot into hboot yourself.
to do this, pull out battery, insert battery, hold volume key down while pressing power on button, hboot will appear, now wait...then select bootloader, and then fastboot usb will appear.
now follow cmds to install recovery
again all this is explained in main thread
SuperUser?
Hi BBE,
Followed your tutorial and was successful at every step. But one thing that is bothering me (or maybe I messed up at some step) is that I still do not have the Superuser (Su) rights. I used "Root Check Basic" and it says I have Root access. But when I try to run "Link2sd" or "Titanium Backup" it says I do not have Superuser rights. Is this method supposed to give us Superuser rights? If yes then what should I do now? If no then how can I get Superuser rights for my HTC Salsa?
Thanks.
Zaeem
Look in the apps list and you should see a pirate like app icon. If you do open app up and update it. This should rectify the su problem. If not.gimme a shout

Yea I did update it myself and now I have Su on my Salsa . However the binary is out dated and when I try to update it, it gives me 'failure' status. Downloaded the SuperUser binary installer fix from Market but still getting the error. Any help with that? (I think I am good even with the out dated binary though)

ok goto market, download, SuperSU looks like a large blue hashtag lol.
install that, update it etc, see if that runs, if you get successful updated binary, reboot the phone. u can run with both SU apps, but you would be better removing the old Su in favour of the new one...im gonna look around for a root.zip with new Super Su in there

{[GUIDE]} HTC Incredible S Unlock Bootloader, flash recovery, Root, S-OFF

Hey XDA ,
I have only been here for a couple of weeks (2-3 weeks ) and I must say, this place has a fantastic community. Everyone is always very nice and respectful. :highfive:
However, I have looked through this place and sometimes, some guides may be outdated (new ROMs, recovery, HBOOTs etc.) so I want to create this thread and hopefully maintain it to my best abilities. I will try and come back here at least once everyday to help anyone
DISCLAIMER: IF YOU SCREW UP YOUR PHONE IN ANYWAY FOLLOWING THIS GUIDE I AM NOT TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE!!! Please understand this!!!
CREDITS: I take absolutely no credit for anything that I write here. I took it from other people's threads and from here, here, and here.
Your phone should be HBOOT 2.02.0002 or HBOOT 2.03.0000 with official ICS 4.0.4 with HTC Sense 3.6.
This method will also work if you have Gingerbread but you may still have HBOOT that is not 1.13.0000
Throughout this guide I will give u (hopefully) working links that will give you everything you need, Backup your data, Unlock your bootloader, Flashrecovery, Install Superuser, Backup Stock ROM, Downgrade your HBOOT, Use revolutionary to gain S-OFF, flash custom ROM, and (optional) install Blackrose 2.03.0000.
Just a few suggestions and little information here:
Be aware that this could take quite a bit of time and everything might not go through as planned. If it does not go as planned, then try googling it, search XDA for an answer, or ask people on XDA. Everyone on XDA is very nice and is always willing to help (as long as it coems within forum rules).
Secondly, I suggest u remove your SIM card from the phone so you will not be receiving any phone calls or messages or whatnot that could possibly mess the process up (optional. I did it just in case).
Thirdly, make sure to have a full battery charge even though you will have your phone connected to the computer from time to time.
1. Download and Set Everything up
On your C: drive, create an "android" folder. I will be referring to this throughout the guide.
This next part is really optional but it will help you be more tidy and orderly.
In C:/android create a "Blackrose" folder
In C:/android create a "Revolutionary" folder
In C:/android create a "Downgrade" folder
In C:/android/Downgrade, create a "Downgradekit" folder and an "RUU" folder.
Get HTC Sync here
Get IncS_MVDTKv3.4.1.zip and the RUU here. For the RUU, download the Typical IncS one unless you are with Sasktel or Bell in Canada or a South American user.
Get ClockworkMod Recovery here. Scroll to HTC Incredible S. At time of writing, the latest version was 5.0.2.0.
***You are also more than welcome to try ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.2.7 If you would like the link, here it is. However this is not an official release but remains pretty much bugless. You may also choose to flash 4ext (touch) recovery, though you better read up on how to flash it cause it is slightly different (although more automated and simple). I will NOT help you if you choose to flash 4ext (cause if you screw it up, then you better stop right there... This is not joke, thats how simple it is)
Get SuperUser here here
Get CyanogenMod ROM here
Get Blackrose here
Install HTC Sync, then uninstall it. We only need the drivers so the actual application is uneeded. (In the control panel, make sure you only select the one with the icon!)
Extract the files from the IncS_MVDTKv3.4.1.zip into the C:/android/Downgrade/Downgradekit. In the downgradekit folder, you should now have the "runme.cmd" and the "files" folder
Put the clockworkmod recovery on the root of C:/android (no folders or anything)
Put Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip on the root of your SD card on the Incredible S. DO NOT EXTRACT ANY FILES
Put CyanogenMod ROM on the root of your SD card. DO NOT EXTRACT ANY FILES
Take note of your devices serial number. It is either under the phone's battery or in the settings>About Phone. I forget the exact location of the serial number in the About Phone section of the settings but it should not take too long to find it. It started off with "HT......."
Enable USB Debugging on your phone. On Gingerbread this can be found under Settings>Applications> Enable Unknown Sources> Development and check USB Debugging. On ICS 4.0.4, it is found under Settings>Developer Options>Check Android Debugging
2. Backup your data
This step is completely optional and I will not post any apps whatsoever here. Google Play Store will help you here. I did not back up any thing on my phone (I do not have anything important so I did not really care).
3. Unlock Bootloader
Go to htcdev.com/bootloader. Create a free account and unlock the Bootloader. The steps are very simple and you should not run into any trouble. At some point during this process, you will receive confirmation on your phone that will ask you If you want to Unlock your Bootloader. Click Volume up and Power (these are hardware buttons on the side and top, just in case) to click yes.
Note: they tell you to download some thing like Android SDK. Put it all in your C:/android folder
Congrats. You just unlocked your bootloader.
4. Flash a recovery
Switch off your phone and go into bootloader. You will now see, highlighted in pink, UNLOCKED. Tog et into the bootloader, power down, then hold Volume Down and press Power button at the same time.
Plug your phone to the computer via USB cable, highlight fasboot and press power button to confirm. On your PC go to C:/android. Press Shift and right click. Press "Open Command Window here"
then type "fastboot devices". Your devices serial number should show up.
Then type in fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-vivo.img (assuming you did not change the name of the recovery image. If you did change it, type what you changed it too and do not forget the .img at the end
After a few seconds, the recovery should have been flashed to your phone.
5. Install Superuser and Test Root Access
From the fastboot menu, click volume down and press power button. This should bring you back to the bootloader screen.
Press volume down once to highlight RECOVERY and press power button. The HTC Splash screen should come up for a few seconds, the you will see the ClockworkMod interface. To navigate through this, use the volume up and down buttons to scroll and press the power button to confirm something.
Select "Install zip from sdcard"
Select "Choose zip from sdcard"
Select the Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip (this should be on the root of your sd card)
Select yes in the field of no's (lool i know XD)
Once it is done installing, reboot your phone. In the app drawer, you will notice that a new app called Superuser or SuperSU has showed up.
You should have root access but lets just be sure anyways. Go to C:/android and Shift, right click to Open Command Window here.
Type in adb.exe shell and press enter
You should get $ meaning adb has connected to your phone.
Next, type in su. If you obtain #, this means you have root access. Hooray
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO STOP GUIDE HERE. LIKE REALLY IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At this point you will be able to flash most ROMs. The exceptions are the one that require S-OFF (the ROM requirements in the thread will state so). Also you will have to flash the boot.img manually
To do this download your select ROM. Extract the boot.img to where you have the fastboot.exe, adb.exe, and AdbWinApi.dll (you should have gotten these 3 files when you unlocked the bootloader). Then open the command window (shift, right click, open command window here) and type:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
the boot.img can be renamed to whatever you would like. I keep all my boot images and the fastboot.exe, adb.exe, and AdbWinApi.dll in 1 folder because i download a lot of ROMs. If you do rename the boot.img, i suggest renaming it to the name of the ROM its for. When you type in the fastboot command, just remember to put the .img at the end. This is necessary or it will not work.
If you want to gain S-OFF continue through the guide.
6. Backup Stock Rom
(optional but highly advised just in case something does not work right, then you have something to fall back on)
Go back to ClockworkMod Recovery (reboot into bootloader>select recovery)
Scroll to Backup and Restore
Then press Backup.
7. Run Nonverbose's script
***IF YOU HAVE HBOOT 1.13.0000 THEN YOU DO NOT DO THIS STEP***
Plug your phone into PC if it is not already. Select Charge Only, enable USB Debugging, and make sure fastboot is OFF (Settings>Power)
In C:/android/downgrade/downgradekit, launch runme.cmd
This part should be relatively simple. Just answer the questions honestly, and the script will do its stuff. If i recall correctly, the first question was are you running official ICS unlocked bootloader. I typed n.
Are you rooted?-n
Do you want to create a goldcard?- answer "y" or else you will get a customer ID error (which I believe is either Error 130 or Error 131) while running the downgrade RUU
Are you running HTC bootloader unlocked (or something similar to that)?-y (unless your version main comes out as something other than 2.00000000... in which case, type "n")
Note: Use this second method ONLY if the script did not work.
This script has worked for a lot of people, but it did not seem to work for me. So i typed in the command prompt
Navigate to the downgradekit folder or alternatively, shift right click within the folder to opwen command window here
adb push misc_version /data/local/tmp <------ copies the file to the device
adb.exe shell <------ you will get $ prompt
su <------ gain root access
chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/misc_version <------ changing permissions of the file to execute
/data/local/tmp/misc_version -s 1.00.000.0 <------ you are faking the device to run the RUU installler to "upgrade" to Gingerbread
reboot bootloader <------ self-explanatory
In the bootloader>fastboot, check to see if the misc_version worked, type:
fastboot getvar version-main
If it returns
version-main: 1.00.000.01
then you are good to go
8. Run the RUU
***IF YOU HAVE HBOOT 1.13.0000 THEN YOU DO NOT DO THIS STEP***
After you run Nonverbose's script, reboot into the bootloader>fastboot and launch the RUU file from the C:/android/Downgrade/RUU
This process takes about 10 minutes so be patient. At the end of that, reboot to bootloader and the you should read somewhere
HBOOT-1.13.0000
This indicates you successfully downgraded the HBOOT.
9. Use Revolutionary to gain S-OFF
Put phone in normal charge mode, USB debug ON, fastboot off
Go to revolutionary.io
Scroll down to Downloads. Click download from Windows
Fill out the Beta Key form:
Your Operating System- Windows
Your Device- HTC Incredible S
HBOOT version- 1.13.0000
Serial number- Enter your serial number
Click Generate Key. Copy and Paste the Key to notepad or something.
Now I, for some reason could not get Revolutionary to work just by opening the exe file..... Since pictures are worth a thousand words, i have decided to post a Youtube clip which gives you verbal and graphical instructions on how to run Revolutionary.
The clip is right here. It is really simple the way the person describes the process. Just follow exactly how he does it and you will be fine.
If you reboot your phone into bootloader after running revolutionary, you will see **REVOLUTIONARY** where it once said **UNLOCKED**
After you have successfully run Revolutionary, check for root access by repeating step 5. If you get # at the end you are good to go If you do not have root, then re-flash the superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip in ClockworkMod Recovery.
**Please keep in mind that during the revolutionary, it asks you whether you want to flash a recovery. This flashes, (if i remember correctly) version 4.XXXXXX.... of ClockworkMod. You can choose to select yes to this, but i would suggest saying "no" because its an older version. After you successfully run revolutionary, reboot into bootloader>fastboot and do step 4 again where you flash CWM 5.0.2.0. **
At step 5, i mentioned the command line fastboot flash boot boot.img. This is now unnecessary if you gain S-OFF. Now you can flash any ROM you want on the go.
10. Flash a Custom ROM
Here is a nice index of ROMs, Kernels, Radios etc. This is updated once a month by the OP and has everything you need to get started.
I did request that you download CyanogenMod 7.2 so let's just use that for now.
Go back to ClockworkMod Recovery and make another backup. Keep in mind that this should be done everytime you decide to flash a new ROM to your phone.
Once you are done, go back and select Wipe data/factory reset, Wipe Cache Partition, and under advanced, wipe dalvik cache.
Go back to main recovery menu, select Install Zip from sd card.
Choose the CM7 zip (cm-7.2.0-vivo.zip if you did not rename it to something else)
Wait for it to be installed to your phone. When it is finished, reboot your phone and voila! You are running your first ROM.
11. Install Blackrose 2.03.0000
This eleventh step is optional as most ROMs do not require Blackrose HBOOT. However, if you have blackrose HBOOT and you flash a ROM that has just S-OFF as a requirement, nothing should go wrong. The ROM should still work perfectly fine.
To install BlackRose 2.03.0000
Plug your phone, charge only, USB debug on
In your C:/android/blackrose, run BlackRose_IS.exe
If it tells you, you need HTC Sync, just reinstall it, not that hard.
After that, wait for it the Blackrose.exe to finish executing
If everything ran correctly, turn off your phone, then back in bootloader mode.
Where it said **REVOLUTIONARY**, it should now say **BLACKROSE** Your HBOOT will also change from 1.13.0000 to HBOOT-2.03.0000
Some people have stated that they get stuck on the HTC splash screen. If so, just reinstall CyanogenMod 7 ROM like you did in step 10 and reboot.
After this you should now have BlackRose HBOOT, S-OFF, and a CM7 ROM flashed to your phone. Congratulations!!!
***Do not ask why Blackrose is not running unless you are sure you are running a rooted ROM (just use CM7, like cmon, its known to work so just use it to have less headaches)
Hey guys. Heres a great edition to this guide that can supplement or pretty much replace this section of Blackrose installation. This guide was made Sandeep_Jagtap. Give thanks to him :good:
If you would like to try a different ROM go to the index and select a ROM.
Happy Hunting
Note: Never compare ROMs. That means no: which ROM is best for this or that or what ROM is smoothest or anything like that.
You don't compare ROMs because:
1. Developers spend a lot of time making their respective ROMs.
2. Its disrespectful and rude to the developers.
3. XDA is not a competition ground for who can make the best ROM. Its here to give us the ability to discuss how we do so and so or whatever, just not comparing things with another.
In essence, the only comments going up about ROMs should be "Great ROM but I had so and so problem" (assuming so and so problem existed of course)
Appreciate the contribution, but you should have posted this in the General section. This is not a Development topic and should not have been posted here.

Hey XDA ,
I have only been here for a couple of weeks (2-3 weeks ) and I must say, this place has a fantastic community.
Hooray
6. Backup Stock Rom (optional but highly advised jsut in case something does not work right and you have something to fall back on)
Go back to Clockworkmod Recovery (reboot into bootloader>select recovery)
Do you want to create a goldcard?- optional though i would suggest it
Are you running HTC bootloader unlocked (or something similar to that)?-y (unless your version main comes out as something other than 2.00000000... in which case, type "n")
If it returns
version-main: 1.00.000.01
then you are good to go
Note: Use the second method ONLY if the script did not work.
8. Run the RUU
***IF YOU HAVE HBOOT 1.13.0000 THEN YOU DO NOT DO THIS STEP***
After you run Nonverbose's script, launch the RUU file from the C:/android/Downgrade/RUU
This process takes about 10 minutes so be patient. At the end of that, reboot to bootloader and the you should read somewhere
HBOOT-1.13.0000
This indicates you successfully downgraded the HBOOT.
9. Use Revolutionary to gain S-OFF
Put phone in normal charge mode, USB debug ON, fastboot off
Go to reviolutionary.io
If you get # at the end you are good to go
At step 5, i mentioned the command line fastboot flash boot boot.img.

After this you should now have BlackRose HBOOT, S-OFF, and a CM7 ROM flashed to your phone. Congratulations!!!
If you would like to try a different ROM go to the index and select a ROM.
I have personally tried all the Jellybean 4.1.X ROMs, almost all the Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.X with Sense 4.X Roms, almost all the ROMs from the Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.X with Sense 3.6/3.5 and Rebased Multilang MIUI4 ROM under MIUI ROM's. I really liked all of them. Great job out there devs :good: :good: :good: :good:
Ones i liked in particular are
From Jellybean 4.1.X: Unofficial CyanogenMod 10 (seems to have the least problems) Android Open Kang Project Release v2 (great customizability though browse through the pages as there are still a number of bugs), and Paranoid Android v1.9.7 (again great number of features here)
From ICS 4.0.X with Sense 4.X: Sabsa Prime v12 (very few bugs as well as a number of different mods that you can add from the installer) and ViperVIVO 1.3.0 (for its great level of customizability clearly evident through the creation of the Venom Hub).
From ICS 4.0.X with Sense 3.6/3.5: Incredible Bliss v1 (its stable, adds a new look, and its really smooth like Project Butter), Android Revolution HD 4.0 (its essentially the same thing as HTC Sense 3.6 except the developper added a lot of hardware speed upgrades and improved its stability) as well as the Second Sun V2.5 (all that's got to be said is that its a great ROM that is similar to Android Revolution HD; improced stock sense 3.6)
These are just my favorites but you really have to try them all out to know which ones you like best Happy Hunting
Please note this is my first guide. If I am missing anything here please inform me and I will correct it. Thank you very much!

Yes you do need a goldcard. Did you select yes when nonverbose's script asked you do you want a goldcard? If you pressed no, then I would suggest you rerun the script and press "y" when it asks you.

The script turned your SD card into a goldcard. It wrote a special signature to the SD Card. You can continue to use it as a normal SD card.

Hi there,
I am following the guide but somehow i don't know why the computer cannot detect the devices during the fastboot mode. But the device can be found if it is booted into the android OS. I am using a mac and thus using a VM with Windows XP. I don't know if it may cause the issue.
When I was trying to type "fastboot devices", it actually doesn't work in XP (connected to Xp). But it's able to work in Mac where I type "fastboot-mac devices" (connected to mac). Thus I can go thru the step 4.
Now I am stuck at Step 7 where the script boot the device into the fastboot mode.
Could anyone help?

Go to fastboot menu in bootloader. Does it say fastboot usb. If it does not, then there might be something wrong with your phone miniHDMI port, the computers USB port, or the cable. If it does then i must ask, in command prompt, did u navigate to the location of the adb.exe, fastboot.exe, AdbWinApi.dll (during bootlaoder unlock process, they should have asked for these files)??

I figured out the issue that it should be related to the driver installation was not successful in fastboot mode. I changed to a Windows 7 notebook then it is fine. And I was able to install the ROM successfully following your instruction. Thanks. :victory:

Help on this step.
wong post .... oops
Thanks a lot for this instructions!
It's the first time i'm dealing with this things (got completely pissed of after that ****ty HTC ICS upgrade) and it went all right.
The only two places which were not completely clear to me and you might suppose to put more details:
1. Step 8 RUU should run in bootloader->fastboot
2. After step 9 (revolutionary) Recovery should be flashed again: either answer yes during that script execution or repeat step 4.

Nope. If you are already rooted, Start from where it says to run Nonverbose's script. This will fake the ID of your device to run the RUU to "upgrade" to HBOOT 1.13.0000. Then run revolutionary.
Thank you and its all going great for a noob here.
Thank you for the detailed process. I've done a Mimmi root and custom kernel and CM-7 mod before and for the Vivo that I got recently this was really useful as all the information was out there.
As far as this process goes, all went well except that when you do the RUU upgrade by fooling the upgrader that your Hboot is 1.00 or something and then it copies all those system files of stock 2.3 to the phone - somehow I lost the recovery and root (which I hassled about for some time and realized I can do the following :
1. Bootloader > Fastboot
2. USB connect
3. cmd.exe
4. fastboot flash recovery recovery-image.img
(ONCE AGAIN after the RUU) and everything seems to have worked like butter thereafter.
ROM's I could install after that:
1. MIUI roms (tried the MAUI WOWIE 2.9) Then tried the MIUI3.2.8 - worked well but little laggy - both work well except some apps wont install - very stable, battery lasted as good as stock, slightly better
2. Cyanogenmod 7.2 (hats off to these guys. worked most awesome but wanted to try so moved on) battery great, no bugs, plain simple fast.
3. Virtuous for - the Quattro. This was amazingly fast but there are bugs that need to be ironed out
here I installed 4EXT recovery and
4. Stock gingerbread with SENSE. - boring
5. Now running JellyTime 4.2.1. Not buggy, smooth, Battery seems to be doing well so far and call sound is okay and till now this one I liked a lot.
NOTE: Offline Dictation - Even after enabling google now and updating all google apps, there is no option do downlod offline speech recognition data in google voice typing settings........ If someone has got this to work I'd be glad to know.
I looked around and everyone seems to be suggesting that there is a check box within the google voice input options dialogue. But all I see is Language (automatic) and Block Offensive Words
Overall, seems like this is a great tutorial for anyone starting on their VIVO. Go Incredible! You've got my Flashing

How to Root Android 5.0 (LRX21O) for Nexus 5

Hey guys,
So i'm sure this is probably already out there, but I wanted to give everyone my method of success with rooting the latest version on Android (5.0) on our N5. Here it is:
Prereqs: You'll need to have these downloaded first
TWRP - Download to your Computer
http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/hammerhead/openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.1-hammerhead.img
SuperUser v2.19 - Download to your Phone
http://click.xda-developers.com/api...ainfire.eu/593/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.19.zip
Platform Tools - Download to your Computer
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390355257214632011
Steps
1) Download SuperUser v2.19 to your phone.
2) Turn off your phone, and reboot into the BootLoader by holding Power + Vol (-). Wait until you see the Green Android Robot.
3) Plug your phone via Micro USB to your Computer.
4) Download and Extract Platform Tools in a "New Folder" on your C: Drive. Give the folder an easy name such as "N5" or something similiar
5) Download and Extract the TWRP recovery image to the "New Folder". Rename the "openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.1-hammerhead.img" to "Recovery". NOTE: It may ask you to overwrite the exisiting recovery image (if applicable). Select Ok/Yes
6) Open your Command Prompt (Windows) and type the following: (You can copy and paste if you'd like)
* cd..\..
* cd c:\(Your New Folder)
* fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
6) Let TWRP flash to your phone (Should take no more than ~10 secs).
7) Toggle your phone to "Recovery" by using the Voume Up/Down keys. Press the Power button to select/confirm.
8) Once TWRP has loaded, press the "Install" icon, followed by "Zip File", and proceed to the "Downloads" folder that you have the SuperUser v2.19 zip downloaded.
9) Select the zip and confirm by swiping at the bottom.
10) Reboot back to the "System"
11) Done
_______________________________________________________________________________
I tried to be as clear as I could with this write up, so I hope this makes sense. It really is straight forward.
Although I'm definitely not the one who came up with this method or files, I wanted to share what worked best for me to Root my N5 running the 5.0 OTA.
If this helped you get root back or makes sense, give a "Thanks".
Take it easy...
Thank you for posting this. I tried three other methods to get root back before this, and none of them worked. This one did the trick without any problems at all. Thanks again!

11) Done
I tried to be as clear as I could with this write up, so I hope this makes sense. It really is straight forward.
Although I'm definitely not the one who came up with this method or files, I wanted to share what worked best for me to Root my N5 running the 5.0 OTA.
If this helped you get root back or makes sense, give a "Thanks".

What part are you stuck at?
For me, I needed to erase cache for the TWRP to stick. Otherwise, when I rebooted it was gone and was using the default recovery.
Use the command:
Code:
fastboot erase cache
before
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
if you have the same problem installing TWRP.
I used chainfires auto root for the N5 (stock lollipop Boot loader). Worked great. Just download to a PC put phone into boot loader and run the bat file. I can't link but a quick google will find it for you.

Good find. Didn't happen to me, but i'm sure it may to others. Were you all set afterwards with Root?
Personally, I'm using the autoroot from chainfire. Works like a charm, no custom recovery is needed (I have the stock recovery).

Are you running the official lollipop release? It should work with that. Delete the app, and try again.
Just put your phone in bootloader and run cf-autoroot from windows if you dont want twrp.
I have twrp but its not working like that

Had the same issue and needed to flash the updated kernel from chainfire : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95747613655047375
Why are you trying to do this the hard way? Just use chainfire's autoroot.
It works perfect and it's literally one command
fastboot boot CHautoroot.img (or whatever the file name is)
cf-auto-root is the way
I agree, just use cf-auto-root. You should be good to go in no time.
Just for FYI, if you already have unlocked bootloader, it won't wipe your data, if you are concerned.
CF-auto-root roots N5 without modifying your kernel. I believe, if you flash the SuperSU in TWRP, it would modify the kernel. It's nothing bad, but if you want to remain "stock" and don't want to reflash stock ROM later to get the OTA, just use "Full unroot" from SuperSU app and you are stock and ready for next OTA.
I have encrypted the storage on my Nexus 5. Will CF-Auto-Root wipe my storage?

MEGA-THREAD ALE-L21, ALE-L23, ALE-L02, Converting, Root, Unbrick, Updating, Xposed

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO RESTORE/UPGRADE THE HUAWEI P8 LITESo i'm making this thread because i noticed many of you had some trouble with your devices. Here you're gonna learn what you can do with your device. Every chapter is something that you can do without the need of the previous chapters (unless told otherwise). I'm also gonna explain what happens to your device (in a simple way so you don't get confused).
WARNING: THIS THREAD IS TOWARDS ALE-L21, ALE-L23, ALE-L02 USERS. IF YOUR MODELNUMBER IS ALE-L04 YOU CAN'T USE ANY OF THE FILES IN HERE.
ALSO I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR SCREWING UP YOUR PHONE, Kevin is.
Note: It will work on the Ale-L02 and the Ale-L23 but you have to settle with some functions that don't work.
Comparison for the modelnumbers ALE-L21, ALE-L23 and ALE-L02
The Chapters:
1. Tools and prepping.
2. Unlock Bootloader.
3. Bootloop/Softbrick.
4. Unbricking.
5. Dual and single sim converting.
6. Upgrading to Marshmallow.
7. Installing TWRP.
8. Getting root.
9. Install Xposed framework.
10. Multiuser account.
11. After word.
Now take your kids and lock them in your basement and put your wife in the kitchen because you're going to learn some stuff and you will get hungry.
Note: If you're a woman take your neighbours wife to make you sandwiches.
Chapter 1: Tools and prepping.
What you need:
Drivers for our phone (Hisuite).
Minimal ADB and Fastboot.
Usb debugging enabled on your phone.
How:
Download and install Hisuite on your pc
Connect your device to your pc and let hisuite detect it.
Close Hisuite.
Download and install Minimal ADB and Fastboot on you pc.
Go to "Settings -> About phone" .
Tap several times on "Buildnumber" until a toast shows where it says "you're now a developer".
Go to settings -> developer options.
And there you will see usb-debugging.
Turn it on.
Congratz on doing this.
Chapter 2: Unlock Bootloader.
WARNING THIS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY.
But it doesn't matter. if your phone boots and all the hardware works, everything is fine. The software is something we can fix.
What you need:
This site.
Unlock code(you will get it on the site).
Minimal ADB and Fastboot (see chapter 1).
How:
Just go to the site.
Make a profile.
Wait 14 days.
Fill in their form .
Get a 16 digits code.
Save that code.
Connect your device to your pc.
Open a cmd.
Type this:
Code:
adb devices
It should return a permission request on your phone just accept it.
After that you should see something like this on your computer
Code:
List of devices attached
WXXXXXXXXXXXXX device
That's perfect and you're a good boy or girl or Apache Attack Helicopter.
If it doesn't you're doing it wrong. "STOP KEVIN!!! THAT'S WRONG KEVIN!!! DAMMIT KEVIN!!!"
After that type this
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Your device will restart into a white screen with the Android puppet (wich name is Andy btw) on it. Beneath Andy it will say "PHONE locked" in green. But not for long .
Wait until Windows installs the drivers.
Remember the 16 digits you got from Huawei?
Yeah whe're gonna need them here.
Next you enter this
Code:
[COLOR="Magenta"]PINK FLUFFY UNICORNS DANCING ON[/COLOR] [COLOR="Red"]R[/COLOR][COLOR="Orange"]A[/COLOR][COLOR="Yellow"]I[/COLOR][COLOR="Green"]N[/COLOR][COLOR="Blue"]B[/COLOR][COLOR="Indigo"]O[/COLOR][COLOR="Violet"]W[/COLOR][COLOR="Red"]S[/COLOR]
No wait, that's wrong. I'm sorry.
This
Code:
fastboot oem unlock xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Where you replace the xxxxxxxxxxx with the 16 digits you got from Huawei.
Now your bootloader screen should say "PHONE unlocked" in red.To be sure you can run this command.
Code:
fastboot oem get-bootinfo
If it returns something like this.
Code:
...
(bootloader) unlocked
OKAY [ -0.000s]
finished. total time: -0.000s
Your good. And your bootloader is unlocked.
Now just reboot with this command.
Code:
fastboot reboot
Congratz, you bootloader is unlocked and your warranty just went down the drain where it shall remain for the rest of its days.
Chapter 3: Bootloop/Softbrick.
Imagine a world where everything went perfect... that would suck, would'nt it? Sometimes our device wont start. This is what we call a "Bricked" Phone. We have 2 kind of bricks. If you encounter them you will sh!t bricks.
No serious... you will!!!
If your phone is bricked we check if we can still charge it and/or try to get something on the screen. If you can't then you have what we called a hard brick and there's nothing we can do about it. "GET OVER IT KEVIN!!!"
The chances are you brokes something.
If we can then HOORA!!! The chance is great whe can restore it. This is what we call a soft brick or a bootloop (for all you smartypants out there. yeah, a bootloop is when you get stuck on your bootlogo/animation).
Chapter 4: Unbricking.
It's very simple we try to push a new image into your phone trough an unlocked bootloader with fastboot (some other devices use special methods, we don't). So make sure your bootloader is unlocked.
Here is an example
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
What happens here is this:
The fastboot calls the fastboot program.
The flash says fastboot i want you to do this.
The boot says on that location on the device that is connected.
The boot.img says with that file.
So for example:
"Hey fastboot you have to flash the recovery partition with the recovery.img".
Becomes:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
We get these "images" with the Huawei update extractor from official updates in the form of UPDATE.APP.
Most of the times we flash 4 images and in this order.
boot.img
recovery.img
cust.img
system.img
So open your cmd in the same folder as the .img files (or put the .img files in the fastboot folder). Connect your phone trough to your pc and press power while holding the volume down button (it will show the bootloader).
And then type this.
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash cust cust.img
fastboot flash system system.img
After that just reboot and wait. It can take a long time for the first boot. Now thankfully there are some people, who made scripts for us lazy bastards so we just have to click and be lazy.
What you need:
The unbrick files for the Dual sim.
The unbrick files for the Single sim.
How:
Connect your device in fastboot and press the "flash all" file.
Let the script run.
The first time you're gonna boot you will have no imei's so your device wil register no sim. Just update your damn phone and everything will be fine.
Note: For the people with an Ale-L04. Just replace the .img files in the folder with the files from your stock recovery.
Chapter 5: Dual and single sim converting.
So you want to convert to a single/dual sim? Well good for you.
What you need:
Unlocked bootloader (see chapter 2).
Unbrick files for Dual sim or Single sim (see chapter 4).
Vendor files for Dual sim or Single sim.
Optional:
Dual sim b170 manual update.
Single sim b133 manual update.
How:
If you want to go to dual sim just download the files for dual sim unbricking otherwise download the single sim unbricking software.
Extract them.
Run them.
And here comes the trouble.
After doing this you will notice a few things:
You will notice that none of your sim's is detected.
You will notice you can't upgrade.
And You will notice that it didn't change anything (you don't see the the appereance/dissapreance of the dual sim settings).
At this point you probaly thinking i screwed up and you want to find me, come to my house and kill me slowly in some creepy basement where i shall remain in pain for the rest of my miserable short life. Well... That's to bad for you because i'm not gonna tell you that my name and address is P sherman, 42 Wallaby Way in Sydney.
Ok, so what the F happend to your phone?
1. Your sim detection.
This occurs when you downgrade from Android Marshmallow to Android Lollipop.
It's nothing to worry about. You just lost your Imei and that's the reason your phone won't detect your sim.
It will solve itself once you update.
2. You can't update.
This is a part of the Famous Balong bug.
what happend is, the phone got confused and just spit out some random build (there's a lot more to that but this sums it up). You can detect this bug by going into "settings -> about phone" and check the build number. If you see the word "Balong" in there, congrats, you are a proud owner of the Balong bug.
How to take care of the Balong bug?
Make sure that you walk it 3 times a day.
It also does sleep a lot so don't worry about that.
Please don't be like other people wo just dump it in the woods somewhere.
Be a responsible Balong bug owner.
No seriously. If you have the Balong bug just install the vendor file according your software.
Extract the file.
You will get a folder named "dload" that contains an "UPDATE.APP" file.
Put the folder with the file in it on your sd card or internal memory.
Go to "Settings -> Update".
Press the menu (at the bottom you will see 3 lines, that's the menu).
Choose "Local update".
Select "UPDATE.APP".
Press "Install".
After the install you should be able to upgrade to a higher build. If it doesn't (single sim i had some problems). You have to upgrade manually to the next build.
Same procedure, extract -> put in "dload" folder and manually update. Make sure you delete the vendor file first.
Now you're converted and can update your phone to the latest build from Lollipop trough Updater (OTA). You will also notice that your Imei has returnd and you wil notice the appereance/dissapreance of the dual sim settings.
Chapter 6: Upgrading to Marshmallow.
The upgrade to Android 6.0 doesn't go trough OTA.
You will have to do it manually.
But first... Let your wife make you a sandwich. You should be hungry by now.
It's done? You ate well? Ok then, let's do this.
What you need:
Dual sim b560 build.
Single sim b551 build.
How:
First check that you're build is B170 or higher (dual sim) or B171 or higher (single sim).
If not upgrade first trough OTA or local update.
Extract the file.
You will get a folder named "dload" that contains an "UPDATE.APP" file.
Put the folder with the file in it on your sd card or internal memory.
Go to "Settings -> Update".
Press the menu (at the bottom you will see 3 lines, that's the menu).
Choose "Local update".
Select "UPDATE.APP".
Press "Install".
Some builds are simlocked and wont upgrade.
Just follow the Unbricking chapter and start from there.
After this you can get the next update trough OTA.
Note:Whenever you update trough OTA or local (flashing is'nt updating.) Make sure you don't have root, TWRP or another custom recovery installed. Everything should be stock.
Chapter 7: Installing TWRP.
Congratz you've made it this far. At this point whe're gonna install TWRP.
Now? you ask, What does TWRP do and what does it stand for?
TWRP stand short for Team Win Recovery Project. It's an open-source software custom recovery image for Android devices. It provides a touchscreen interface which allows users to install third-party firmware and backup the current system, which are often unsupported by stock recovery images.
Soooooooowwwww... can you just install TWRP on any device?
NO. TWRP has to be modified to your current chipset in order to work on your device. The provided image we gonna install is TWRP 3.0.2 wich is specially build for our device. Ale-L04, NOT FOR YOU GUYS!!!
What you need:
TWRP 3.0.2 with script.
Unlocked bootloader (see chapter 2).
Usb-debugging enabled (see chapter 1).
How:
Extract the folder from TWRP.
Connect your device.
Just open the Install file and read what's happening on your screen. After it's done you can boot into TWRP by holding the volume down and the volume up button at the same time while powering up your phone. The principle is the same as described in chapter bootloop/softbrick. We just flashed trough fastboot the twrp.img .
If you installed TWRP you can't update trough local or OTA anymore. You first have to flash back the original recovery. You can get them by running Huawei update extractor on your current build UPDATE.APP that you download from the Huawai site and flash them trough fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Note:It doesn't matter wich build you're on.
Chapter 8: Getting root.
So it has come to this. The most famous feature on Android. The almighty ROOT.
Device manufacturers don't want us to get root because the most of us would screw up the device. So if we gain root acces our warranty is void. But we can restore our warranty with unrooting. Altough if your bootloader is unlocked it's unlikely.
Not that you have anything on your warranty... like, remember that time that you took your phone out of your pocket when it rained? Yeeeeaaaaah, if you send it back they will say it's waterdamage. For warranty on your software it's simple. With root acces, TWRP and the knowledge of XDA we can probarly fix the software issue before they even realize there's an issue.
"Throw your phone against a wall, exactly at 50 M/ph that will solve the problem. Be carefull, because 49 M/ph is not fast enough and 51 M/ph will break your phone." -XDA
Click to collapse
Please don't try this, this is not a real solution!
So go for the root and f*ck the warranty.
Just be sure that your device boots up and all buttons work before doing anything to it.
DON'T (and i can't stress this enough!!!) ROOT YOUR PHONE WITH KINGROOT!!!You will get root but it also screws up a lot.
For Android 5.0/5.1 Lollipop based
What you need:
Unlocked bootloader (see chapter 2).
Usb debugging active (see chapter 1).
Root file.
How:
Connect you phone to your pc.
Extract the "root P8 file".
Open the "root P8 file".
Follow the instruction on your computer screen.
Your phone is now rooted.
Note: Unroot first with the SuperSu app before trying to upgrade to a newer build.
For Android 6.0 Marshmallow based
What you need:
Unlocked bootloader (see chapter 2).
TWRP installed (see chapter 7).
1.Zip .
2.Zip .
How:
Put 1.zip and 2.zip into your sd card/internal storage.
Boot into TWRP.
Ignore the message from TWRP.
Choose the "install" button.
Locate 1.zip (if on sd card go "up a level" and then "external sdcard" there you should find it).
Install it.
Reboot your phone.
Boot into TWRP again.
Locate 2.zip .
Install it.
Reboot
Your phone is now rooted. But your SuperSu app is still a user app.
If you want to make it into a system app here's how to do it.
What you need:
A root explorer (Es File Explorer).
How:
Go to /data/app folder.
Locate the eu.chainfire.supersu-1 folder and cut it.
Go to the /system/app folder.
Paste it.
Give it these permissions rwx r-x r-x.
Reboot your phone.
After you got root you can delete systemapps that you don't want/need or change a lot of things in your phone.
Chapter 9: Install Xposed framework.
Xposed installer is awesome. it's like a google play store for tweaks than can make your android device just right like you wanted it to.
Note:this version won't need an build.prop edit.
What you need:
Android 6.0 installed (see chapter 6).
TWRP installed (see chapter 7).
Root (see chapter 8).
Install from unknown sources enabled.
Xposed installer.apk.
Xposed installer framework zip.
Optional :
Xposed uninstaller zip.
How:
Enable unkown sources "Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Security -> Unknown sources".
Put the Xposed installer.apk on to your device.
Install the Xposed installer.apk onto your device.
Put the Xposed installer framework zip and the Xposed uninstaller zip into your sd card/internal memory.
Reboot into TWRP.
Install Xposed installer framework zip.
Reboot.
Wait for an hour before deciding that it's bricked. Seriously this will take long like 20 minutes up to 40.
If it's bricked just boot into TWRP again and install the Xposed uninstaller zip. It should work. Otherwise -> unbrick it (see chapter unbrick).
If you have succesfully installed it go to the Xposed installer app and click on "Framework". If it says "Xposed framework version 85.10 is active" in green everything is a gogo.
Chapter 10: Multiuser account.
As you know Huawei did a heavy job theming Android with it's Emui overlay. As so we don't have all the stock features that Android gave us. Here's how to get one back.
What you need:
Root (see chapter 8).
Build prop editor.
How:
Open your build.prop editor.
Locate it to /system/build.prop.
Search for these lines.
Code:
fw.show_multiuserui=0
fw.max_users=1
Change their value into this
Code:
fw.show_multiuserui=1
fw.max_users=3
Save your build.prop (grant your editor root acces).
Reboot your phone.
Then go to "Settings".
There you will see "Users".
Chapter 11: Afterword.
If you're new on XDA remember that the people here do anything in their free time. Be it helping, developing or just testing. Be nice to them and don't spam those people. they may now alot but everything they know is already explained somewhere on XDA and explaining the same thing 1000 times a day is frustrating.
So do a search before asking anything AND READ THE WHOLE THREAD!!! We lost the only 2 developers we had in the P8 lite section this way.
Also if someone helped you press the ":good: Thanks!" button on the right bottom of his/her post. to show your appreciation. The files i enclosed are files that i gatherd over the time at the P8 lite thread or from the Huawei website. I don't remember who made them all but it wasn't me.
Give this guy a thanks @sokkoban for his awesome development on the p8-lite and his site. It learned me a lot about my device. i think most of the files are his. don't know for sure (check out his multitool here). And give this guy @shimp208 a thanks for his awesome work on the Minimal ADB and Fastboot installler and his awesome thread.
Note:for the more advanced people in here who know what they're doing. I know that there are easier ways to do some stuff but i want the people to learn. If you have suggestions, let me know.
I'm in progress of taking control over the world. So i'm not active on this thread anymore. Further questions will be answered by people like @amageek. Give them a thanx for their trouble and send amageek goats, virgins and peanutbutter (he likes that).
Also... Geeky, you will be minister of education in my new world order.

You can use supersu me app or delete the app with a root deleter than start with the bootloader unlocking. Yes, you probarly unlocked it with king root. No, it didn't work.
Good luck dennis, i hope u can fix it
Thumbs up!
Thanks a lot for this useful guide! Finally it's all there together in one place, with good explanations. Just used it to install TWRP and root my device, worked flawlessly!

Would it be possible to add some original files or just the rom in case anyone would f*ck things up.
Very good summary!

Does the latest version of XperiFIX works with 47.1.A.16.20 ?

Hello everyone,
I've bought my phone second hand and the sellor didn't tell me the bootloader was unlocked... I feel screwed, I can't take any pictures.
From what I've learned with some search, I need to get the drm keys back, with this software XperiFix. Does the latest version work with my build? I see nowhere if it's compatible or not, and I don't have 20€ to lose...
Thanks for your time

Sony have become wise to Xperiafix and if you use an old vesrion on new firmware it'll bork your phone. I know you want the 'free' version, but seriously, is peace of mind worth $20. Pay it once and you'll get fix updates for forever.
sToRm// is still in development with his fix and I'm pretty sure he supports all the latest builds. The 3.1 version I used connects online to get the latest TWRP and fix versions.
Drop him a line on his support page at and ask him.

Thanks, I want to buy the soft, I meant that I want to be sure it'll work if I buy it because I can't afford to spend 20€ for nothing.
I've seen him replying to someone with the same question
Where he says "It does! You have to use the manual mode in XperiFIX and select the related TWRP and Magisk, then start the fix."
But honestly I have no idea what that means and I'm a huge noob, without any guide with pictures I won't be able to do anything...
Bonus question : Is there a way to make mobile payment work again or did I lose that forever?
Thanks

Sony have become wise to Xperiafix and if you use an old vesrion on new firmware it'll bork your phone. I know you want the 'free' version, but seriously, is peace of mind worth $20. Pay it once and you'll get fix updates for forever.
sToRm// is still in development with his fix and I'm pretty sure he supports all the latest builds. The 3.1 version I used connects online to get the latest TWRP and fix versions.
Drop him a line on his support page at and ask him.

I would like to get the phone as stock as possible. Do the links you provided allow me to use mobile payment applications?
I'm sorry I'm a noob and I have no idea what to do to get the phone as close as possible as brand new
You have unlocked bootloader, payments won't work without magisk

So that means it's possible to make it work? Very nice.
Let's say I've found 3.1 xiperifix for free, but it doesn't detect my phone (blue led, sony drivers installed) and I have nothing as such as "manual mode". Do you know why?
I haven't flashed anything yet, do I need to flash TWRP? How/when do I install Magisk? Can you please be explicit in what to do, if you have time of course. Thank you!
1. Download flashtool
2. Open Flashtool install latest available software which ends "20" via Xperifirm which is inside of Flashtool
3. Press vol down key and insert usb-c cable to your computer
4. if you see green notification light then your device is ready to flash
5. After flashing is done you need next step
6. pull cable out and press vol up key and insert cable
7. now if you see a blue light your ready to flash twrp recovery
8. Download twrp recovery name it twrp.img and copy it to "C:/adb" folder
9. install adb & fastboot installer from xda "look google" and get fastboot drivers ready
10. open cmd, write " cd C:/adb" write "fastboot devices" if you see your device in the list then your ready to flash twrp
11. flash twrp "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img"
12. pull cable out
13. download tweaked and drm fix included kernel from development forum
14. press vol down and power on your device (cable not plugged in)
15. in twrp recovery format your internal storage and boot againt to twrp
16. now you're able to copy downloaded kernel to your storage
17. copy 3 zip files inside of "Patching-Magisk-Module-Permissive.zip" to your phone storage but dont flash anything yet
18. Turn off the device. Press vol up key and insert cable. blue notification light there then you are ready to flash kernel
19. extract from Kernel "Xperia XZ1 Compact (G8441).zip" and open Flash-boot.bat
20. when thats done, unplug cable, press vol down and power key, after display shows something release power key
21. booted into twrp now flash 2-Patching.zip and 3-Magisk.zip then boot your phone.
22. open magisk manager and go to "Modules" and press "+" key under the modules list and choose 4-kernel_permissive.zip after it is done reboot your phone and you should be fine.

I can't seem to find the software you've captured. Only v1.8 not v1.9. Would the 1.8 work though?
For now I have installed 3 drivers :
The 15 seconds installer https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
The google driver from android studio
The official sony driver https://developer.sony.com/develop/drivers/
I have also disabled the Windows 10 thing regarding drivers about signature enforcement
Also I'm using USB 2.0

You need FlashTool:
http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php
I uploaded the driver package, so you don't have to download the entire package:
https://www6.zippyshare.com/v/lNT3x7mv/file.html
You should install the usb driver for xz1C:
https://developer.sony.com/file/download/xperia-xz1-compact-driver/
If you have windows 8 or newer you have to boot into unsigned driver install mode:
https://www.maketecheasier.com/install-unsigned-drivers-windows10/
If you start the installer, select the two drivers and then click on install.
You will see a new driver install window. Don't click on next.
Move into the following folder %temp%/flashtool and copy your xz1c driver into it.
Now move back to the driver install click on next and click trough the unsigned error messages.
After that you have installed the needed drivers and you can go further with fastboot mode.

Edit : I'm not able to put any data into the phone (windows explorer freezes) and I can't use adb push because my device is not found
Fastboot devices finds my phone, but adb devices doesn't

you need to go twrp recovery and format data not wipe data & cache, format data will ask you to type "yes" after that reboot twrp again and now you can move files to twrp.
---------- Post added at 07:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:26 PM ----------
boot in to twrp recovery and go to "Wipe" then "Format Data" then type yes and after that is done, reboot again to twrp and you can now copy files to device.
Alright so I did everything, flashed everything said in the 22 steps, and I can take pictures but still can't pay with my mobile. I got an error message from PayLib because I am root or I have an application that allows root or something
I think I'll live without mobile payment... That's a shame but well, that's what I got for not checking properly a second hand device.
Quick and last question : Can I reset the phone in the settings without losing anything I've just done? Or will I lose the different zip flash I did? I want to be able to sell my phone without screwing the next buyer
Also, thanks everyone for you time and patience with me! You were amazing

if you tell next buyer about activate the (4. zip file) a module in magisk, you can wipe your data. just remove your google account before sell because even rooted wiped phones asks previous owners account to login.
just because of drm keys for camera get wiped, i will also not sell my xz1 compact and use it as long it works.
