Try Google Play. There's Motorola Camera and Gallery apps there. Probably the same, since they show installed when I look at them in Play.

Google play was showing only open option,no install option. But i got a working method. I saw the permissions in my friends mobile and set the same on mine and its working now.

[Q] Camera App

Has anyone figured out how to launch the camera app? Ive seen it used in videos so I know its possible. I tried the Modaco camera launcher, but couldnt get it to work. Thanks
The problem is that there is no native camera app to launch. You need to install an apk that is an actual full camera app, not just a launcher.

There is a native camera app, if you don't use the stock launcher. When I installed ADW launcher EX, there is an icon called "camera" and it well, runs the front facing camera and allows video and still images. I don't believe amazon put in an icon launcher in their native ecosystem.

Anyway to create a shortcut to the app? Maybe anycut or something will work. When I was at best buy playing with the store demo it had a camera app on it. I wonder if it's the same app

I can confirm - there is a working stock ICS camera app, but no shortcut. If you go into Settings, Applications, Installed Applications, it's right there in the list: Camera, Version 1
The way I was able to launch it was through AirDroid (that's actually how I discovered it)
I tried using the Camera launcher that I installed on my Nexus 7, but it FCs.

Not sure if it makes a difference but I use apex launcher. I just click the camera app in the drawer. The camera works fine. If I could only get the flash the flash to work(j/k).

What is a Working Camera+Camcorder App for Marshmallow?

Picked up a Moto X Play for family in Canada.
The Camera interface isn't the most intuitive, was hoping to use Google Camera but every app I seem to use seems to crash when switching from camera to camcorder mode, currently on the March security update for Marshmallow.
Does anyone else have this issue or can recommend a decent camera app as an alternative?
Try Open Camera or Manual Camera.
Yeah open camera is a nice one.The stock camera app is working normal on mine.Try to clean cache of the stock camera app.
Opencamera crashes.
Google Camera 2.7 is actually working, so the problem is with version 3.1 and later... Guess that's why they pulled it from the Play Store

When switching from camera to video camcorder mode, it says 'Can't connect to camera' and crashes the app
Running version 5.1 and its working.Stock mm 6..0.1.
I should try a factory reset if i was you.

Sorry 5.1 of which application would you be referring to?
Google Camera only goes up to 3.2 and Open Camera 1.28.1

Sorry i was mistaken with motorola stock camera app. Maybe google camera is crashing because it cant find a gyroscope sensor which is needed for the 360 pictures.
Looking for a camera app as well; stock Motorola camera is too slow on launch in taking pictures or I itializing video. I've tried clearing data and cache. Google Camera works besides camcorder mode.
I used Open Camera. After installation, the first time I have it hung. Resetting and poked in the settings. In the "interface settings" disabled "show slope" and "show the direction of the compass." As long as such no longer hangs.

From camera option missing

I am using stock OS version and from past few days there is no front camera option in camera app, I tried many camera apps from play store, none of the app shows that option. Is there any fix for this please?

Port new versions of Google Camera Apk to Moto X 2014

Good Afternoon,
Ive searched around but could not find anything. I am curently using V2.7. Would anyone on here be able to port a V3.0 or greater Google Camera Apk to our phone? It installs no problem and camera works fine. When you try to use the video camera it says, "can't connect to camera." then force closes.

Question Changing Default Gallery app...

I'm testing alternatives for the MIUI 13 Gallery app, and I have found a few candidates.
BUT even if I set the new gallery app as default in the MIUI 13 settings, when I press the image of a recent shot inside the MIUI Camera app I'm still getting the miui gallery .
How can I change that?
If the gallery is hard-linked with the Camera, it is useless to have another Gallery app because then you will have to deal with both.
P. S. If had root access a might have tried to uninstall the default Gallery app, and hope for the camera app to ask me for another Gallery, but without root I cannot install it or I can freeze it.

Did you try: settings/app management/apps installed/the 3 dots at the top right/management of default apps

Yea you cant really change that as far as i know (even with root). You could however use gcam as your default camera and select the thirdparty gallery app as default to open via gcam. But I know thats not much of a solution.
