Hello gyus
I recently found a Samsung Galaxy S2 plus but isnt working I cant turn it on but when i contact the charger it wakes up for a moment and dies again :crying:
What can be the reasons ?
Sounds like you should put it back in the trash where you found it.
Bad usb connector, probably. You could try an external charger to charge the battery.

First of all, this forum is for discussing the Gear 1 (SM-V700) smartwatch and not about the Galaxy S2 !
Secondly, have you tried using an original charger and USB cable ? Not all chargers work correctly and same for USB cables.
Or you could try, like said already, to charge the battery with an external charger.
Or you can try another battery, maybe yours is defective.
Or..
Or..
Or..
There is so much you can try, but you didn't mention at all what you have tried already.
Good luck
I'm in agreement with speedme about posting in the wrong place.... However, lol, I'm an s2 owner and have had a similar problem. Trying getting a pin and cleaning out all the fluff from the charge port, then bend the charge connector very gently towards the screen.

Info: Charging paused. Voltage too high
Couple of days back updated My GS Note to official ICS 4.03. Today morning, suddenly after removing charger, facing a problem. every few seconds it beep with message " Info: Charging paused. Voltage too high".
When I reconnect charger or USB, there is no issue at all. But after removing cable, the problem continues.
Not sure any other GS note user are facing same problem or not?
Shut down your phone and let it cool down may help

Shut down your phone remove the battery for some time (around half an hour). Also check there is no dirt in battery compartment or inside the charging port.
Flash any stock firmware if you are on any custom rom and take it to the nearest service center
There might be temporary fixes but permanent fixture would be to replace the usb docking port which need to be replaced...
hi bro,
happen to me n my friend as well. what i did is, clean the usb port. using a piece of paper, wipe clean the in between the connector.. also if the hair dryer is available, blow dry the port..
This happened to me earlier and it keeps bugging the hell out of me, then I remembered that earlier this morning I used my Pantech charging cradle before plugging it directly to the mini usb port and it started bugging me with the charging error....tried blowing on the port, using different chargers but when I tried using the pantech charging dock it stopped and charged normally.I guess this will have to do as of now
My friend had that happen to him because of dirty contacts on the phone/USB cable. Just blow it out good, or use a swab with alcohol to clean it.

I had this problem. There was a bit of pocket lint causing the issue. A swab with alcohol will do, but don't blow in there. Your breath has a lot of moisture in it. Those pins are sensitive and moisture can cause the "phantom car mode" issue.
Today I got this issue..
so I try to cleaning USB contact.
Hope this will help.
Thanks a lot..
isn't this because of some custom kernel that implemented some voltage changes?

Cleaning USB port worked
I removed the battery and used a little rubbing alcohol on a tiny brush (used to clean between teeth, a pickster). It rebooted and worked for a few minutes then the message came back.
Unfortunately I have seen this far too many times with Samsung phones. I once had a Skyrocket that had this issue, and then it wouldn't be recognized when plugged into the computer. Cleaned the port, used different cables, changed the rom etc. No dice.
My work phone (galaxy s2) started this yesterday. Then my Note was acting erratically while charged.
My best advise is to clean the port, and get another charger immediately. New cable/wall plug. My note is charging fine at home just not with the car charger (brand new Rocket fish). I'm lucky I caught it in time. Now my S2 is damaged.
I have also heard that the stock samsung chargers has a chip that detects when the phone is charged. Therefore using 3rd party chargers could therectically damage the phone.
Although I truely hate Apple phones, I think the 30 pin connector is far superior to micro USB. Too many problems.

I did a factory reset and the problem seems to have been solved.

It was the same for almost 3 weeks for me.. I bought "Charger Port Micro USB Connector Mic Flex Cable for Samsung Galaxy Note N7000" from ebay. This morning i received it. I replaced the part. Now it is perfect. Replacement this part is very easy. I bought it for 9 dolars.
This error is a hardware fault. So you have to replace the part. May be cleaning it solves the problem but it would be a temporary solution.
So you replaced the charging port on the note. It's good to know that is an option.
The cleaning of the USB port and then a full charge cycle using the Samsung original wall charger has fixed it for me. I have not had the error since.

hey
I'm having the same issue it looks like it really is the usb connector.
Anyway I don't have any warranty left so I'd like to give this a shot. Has this new charging port lasted? I hope it lasts longer than the one I got in my Note
Hello!
I got an old Samsung gt-n7000, it worked well until the battery went old. The screen started to flickering for some days, until the battery lost all the power, the mobile turned off and I could not recharge it. I then bought a new battery and everything worked, I thought. Until I should charge the phone, it still dident work to charge it. I look all over the internet and found that maybe its the usb connector in the phone that stop working. I ordered one at ebay, got it today but it still don't give me any response at all.
The phone was rooted for ca one year ago, but then I factory reset it to all original. So this dosen´t matter?
Any thoughts what I can do? Is it just trash?
My advice is to get an external battery charger and a spare battery.
It could also very well be a bad usb cable.

I already tried 5 different cables and none of them work sadly.
Yeah I guess that's the only way?
I suspect something like this would work as well.
Please note that i have not tested/used/researched/ordered this. But its what i would consider giving your situation.

Hey fellow XDA members,
My S3 Mini seems to lose charge while its in the charge and charges really slowly. I had it months ago when I used the charger that came with the phone so I have been using an IPhone wall adapter with the S3 Mini micro USB cable. Which was working until around a month ago when it showed started doing the same thing. I have tried a new battery, a new phone socket, an S3 charger. I have a feeling its still a faulty socket because my brothers phone charges on my iPhone+Micro USB combo charger. Does anyone have the same problems? What can I do to fix this? I'm running Maclaws CM12. Thanks.
This issue occasionally shows up on my device too. Mostly a reboot or removing the battery for a few seconds solves this.

Had the same problem. For me it was the charger. Try to plug the iPhone wall adapter in the wall socket and then plug in the original USB-Cable of your phone very slowly into the iPhone adapter. For me it helped because otherwise it didn´t charge.
But maybe its a CM12 problem. I don´t know...

I've had had the same problem too, and it's not a cm12 problem. I had it on stock too. But yeah, a reboot usually helps for it.

Nothing is impossible with the power of friendship.
SGS3 Mini PAC-Man v.4.4.4.
It could also be that your battery is reaching the end of its life, but I doubt it. Mine is only a year old, so unless it's more than 2 years old, that couldn't be the case.

not true. it may very well be dead after a year, such was the case for me.
OP: check your battery. if it is swollen you'd better get a new one.

I've had my phone for a year. I've got a spare battery, and I have tried to see if the charging problem goes away but it was still present. Right now I am trying to drain the battery completely, then taking it out for a few seconds and then charging it to full and repeating the process.
When you try this use this App! For me it made the battery life better! I use always after flashing a new ROM.

Hello, i'm here if any expert can help me with this problem i recently got.
So back then i had an Internation stock rom, but recently after 3 or 4 the phone stopped charging, so i decided to void my warranty (Which i now regret)
It only got worse, the phone doesn't charge unless its percentage is over 70, and doesn't even fast charge.
So i did my research and had to spend hours and even days, which i obviously didn't find and that's why i'm here.
My cable has been quite uninstable too, but as said, it only charges when it's 70%, and the only way i was able to charge was throught TWRP, which i recovered and no longer have TWRP, tried to install an stock rom, but failed, i really don't know what to do than buy a new cable, but highly doubt it will do anything and that the problem is in the kernel [Overdose].
I appreciate any helpful answers.
the stock cables and charger are junk. i just got me le s3 4 days ago and the chord and wall adapter never worked together, the chord did allow me to charge for a few days but this morning...it stopped working (after flashing a few roms and tweaks, so i thought it was that too...nope. its the cable. GET A NEW ONE ASAP and all wll be great
Dude! I had the same problem! Bought Samsung Type C cable from Samsung Care! And working flawlessly! Yes it is costly but it is worth it! Quality and fast charge! It was about Rs. 550 for me!

Well, i got a new cable because of it, and now it isn't working, maybe it's because the cable was very cheap so i'll engange on geting a new much better quality cable.
