Hi,
I am having trouble booting my HTC One M7 (bought and used in India). It was always on stock. It refused to take the OTA update a few weeks ago (and I never tried after that).
Today it stopped booting. It gets stuck on the logo screen. I can get into the boot loader. I even tried to do a factory reset (both bootloader and Recovery mode). But it just goes into a loop. The only way to turn it off is from the bootloader, using the power down function.
I am able to enter the recovery mode as well.
Both of these were obtained by running fastboot commands
Ver 5.12.707.105
CID HTC__038
I also downloaded a new stock ROM as suggested here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=58566220#post58566220
from
androidfilehost dot com/?w=file-thanks&fid=95784891001611719&mid=97&download_id=9s2l8i4070lmn5v51pk9fao7t1&tid=1423838494&hc=9c674e4e1ac2138d7297e2bce167b542c10f64af40da902d9fcb46973d155aac
A little unsure about next steps.
Do I need to unlock?
Do I need Custom Recovery?
Step by step would help
I just need to get back to Stock.
Will anyone be able to help?
My level is newbie, But I can follow commands
PS: I have attached the only images I have.
PPS: I have downloaded the Android Studio Bundle.

If you have warranty best way go to service centre
But you are asking here I assume you don't have that
You need unlock bootloader
Then need TWRP recovery 2.6.3.3
Then you can flash stock reset Rom available @ my signature below
Try version according to your phone software
---------- Post added at 10:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:50 PM ----------
You can flash Stock_Reset_Rom_6.13.707.106.zip
After that flash 6.13.707.107 firmware
Related
I used to have venom firmware but it was removed a while ago so I was back to the normal htc firmware
I still had TWRP on the phone
I was notified of the lollipop update but when I tried to do it it failed but the update kept notifying me it was available and wouldnt go away
then tried a factory reset but now it only goes to the white htc screen
have tried fixing with new ruu zip files but nothing works
I can also no longer get into twrp

You will have to unlock your bootloader again and flash twrp again and then refresh the rom. Of course it wouldn't update the ota, you lose that option when you mess with your device. Never factory reset unless you can release the rom right away. HTC Sense works very differently then other roms.

Hi! I recently update my HTC One (M7) 802w nordic to 5.0.2 lollipop and today I tried to root it using Kingo Root but i did not get superuser instead i got CWM 6.0.3 something. The phone is unlocked but S-On. I tried to update SU with version 2.40 but didn't work the phone still turn on normally after that, then I tried to update again SU with version 2.46 that starts the problem, the phone boots into first HTC Splash screen then turns into blank screen and stuck, it doesn't turn off. I hope someone can help me fix my phone.
= I can still get into custom recovery, but no adb command (device offline) only fastboot commands work. And I'm not really good with cmd sorry.

Try to download the zip from www . superuserdownload . com, and then flash it through CWM or TWRP.
By the way, how did you update to 5.0.2? OTA?

Thanks for your reply, do you think flashing boot.img will solve the problem?
...and the OTA update came automatically after 4.4.3 update here in Middle East.

i gave up finding the right ROM to fix it after endless looking around and then used http : // llabtoofer.com / htc-ruu-flashing-service - next day they contacted me and flashed the latest stock on to my device ... (totally worth the 20 bucks I paid for it)

No need to pay, if you can still get into custom recovery then download this custom firmware http://llabtoofer.com/2014/07/31/htc-one-dualsim-maximushd-3-0-0/ then copy to your ext-sdcard, boot into custom recovery and flash the .zip file. Or you can just get one of my backups [cwm or twrp] and restore your phone via custom recovery of your choice.
Hi, I tried to use your backup, but my system didn't boot. I used your 7.17.402.5 backup, because I have same problem as guys in this thread. Where can be a problem?

GO in the HTC One M7 general section of this forum, you'll see a sticky thread name "Collection - Lollipop signed ruu"
Download the first file from the second post (7.19.401.22 RUU) and save it in the same folder you have your fastboot.exe installed on your computer. Then read post #1 for instructions how to flash the ruu, you must use the fastboot version linked in post #1.
The ruu will reflash your phone 100% stock then if its still not booting its maybe an hardware problem, but lets try the ruu first.
Also edit your first post and remove your phone IMEI and Serial number, never post these 2 numbers.
Hi,
Device : HTC One Dual sim (802w/m7_cdug) middle east
my phone was unlocked, rooted, s-on, & with twerp recovery (stock rom),
i wanted to install an update from HTC available a few weeks back,
so i returned to stock recovery and tried to install the update (still unlocked).
after few minutes the phone restarted and is stuck on the HTC logo boot screen .
tried to flash ROM after re-locking the phone and , but unsuccessful.
i am able to flash recovery (twerp to stock and back) successfully.
Any help on this is appreciated .

Why would you not restore system, boot, and recovery to stock before attempting something like this? A rooted phone would have modified things in system and/or boot partitions which will likely make the patching fail.
I've searched and tried everything before posting, I must be missing something.
A brief background is a while back I tried flashing CM12.1 and when I did I lost my baseband(baseband unknown) and IMEI unknown, therefore I tried to flash back to stock using an official RUU.exe, but wound up in a bootloop (wiped dalvik). I was unable to boot into recovery because my volume down button did not work.
Recently I replaced the Flex board for the volume button and tried to get the phone operational again thinking that if I flash a stock rom it would give me back my baseband and imei, but I cannot flash anything stock. If I flash anything stock I wind up in a bootloop, I've tried RUU.exe's, RUU.zip's, Nandroid Backups, etc. sometimes I get "System Process not responding" message, not sure of the exact message but it gives me a choice to "wait" or "ok", but just shuts down after making either selection. I recently was able to get a little further with a development rom, in which I made it to the android unlock screen, but as soon as went to unlock it the phone rebooted.
I've tried all of this with the bootloader locked and locked, cleaning the dalvik and other caches. I've performed complete wipes with SuperWipe, but the problem still persists, I cannot flash anything Stock. I am able to flash Android Revolution HD 93.0, but still no baseband or IMEI.
The phone is S-Off
Any Ideas what I am doing wrong?

I don't know if anyone can help me or if there is much support here anymore, but here is an update.
After I posted my original message I noticed that there was something wrong with the bootloader variables, I've fixed by flashing an FUU and matching RUU. I still have the Unknown Baseband and Unknown IMEI in Revolution HD. With the stock RUU I flashed along with the FUU I still get a bootloop. I am able to get past it by holding the volume up or volume down for Safe Mode during the boot process, but as soon as I unlock the screen I am brought back to white HTC boot screen.

isnt ARHD 93.0 require lollipop firmware, so your bootloader must be 1.61?
Thanks I will try and flash tomorrow and report back.

I flashed the FUU that contained Hboot 1.61 and ARHD93, but still have the same issues with the Unknown Baseband and IMEI.
The thing is that I am really not sure which FUU to use, for this flash I used 7.19.401.51_WWE_TWRP2870.
