Ringtones may have to be copied to internal sdcard to work. But I didn't hear something about losing vibration feature.Did you do a factory reset?Solves a lot oft issues.

You might also want to check if the Interruptions function is disabled as depending on its settings it can silence ringtones and notifications and cancel phone vibrating. To check interruptions go to Settings->Sound & notifications->Interruptions

Any app that you recently installed which you may think might be causing any kind of conflict with ringtones? Going over the obvious, have you gone through the audio settings and ensured a ringtone is actually selected? Because I've seen this being reset on quite a few custom ROMs...

Bump anyone??
I have the same problem with .mp3 ringtones & if I set an .mp3 for SMS notifications. They work for about 24 hours if I reboot my SGS, then stop working.
Re-install of current ROM (Darky's v9.5) makes no difference to this problem
sorry, i'm still having the same issue, there is a newer firmware out now, so may upgrade and see if this resolves the issue.
Hi all, I am on Italy v20S and experiencing soms strange problem. Each time I switch on/off the phone, my keyboard switches to LG stock keyboard instead of staying on the GO keyboard. Sometimes the ringtone/notification sound is changed too...
no one with same problem or solution ? I could try reinstalling the Rom, but only if no other options available
i got the same problem, but only after battery replacement not after common reboot. the date and time reset after this. problems gone when i flashed via smartflash.
sorry for my english, hope this info will be usefull.

This is a bug in the firmware, has always been there. If you want to use a custom ringtone/notification sound you have to copy it to /system/media/audio/ringtones or notifications.
What (I think) happens is that the sound is referenced by an index number. During startup it looks for the sound number, but since the sd-cards haven't been scanned yet, you end up with a random sound. The sounds on the system-partition are correctly scanned first.
Each time I switch on/off the phone, my keyboard switches to LG stock keyboard instead of staying on the GO keyboard.

Not seen this before, but it may be related to the above. Is it installed on the SD-card? If yes, move it to the internal storage and see if it helps.
Hi, I have an ATT note 3 with NB4 firmware, rooted, recently I noticed I had many miss calls, I found out if the RAM usage is high like above 1.5g,
I lost my ring tone and lock screen sound, also not keyboard touch sound Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

None, I use Ti back freeze all the att bloatwares and some Google services I don't use, also some Samsung stock apps.
The sound come back after I clear some memory, it below 1.5gb, I didn't notice that happened when I was on MJ5.
thanks

After reboot, memory is around 1gb.
It drive me nuts, because I don't know when it will reach above 1.5gb, I can see the incoming calls, but no ring tone.
I can only recommend hard reset / wipe. Mine is also 1gb on reboot and the after that is constantly at around 2gb during the day and I get no missed phone calls or any ring tone problems. I used to have the qmm_camera_daemon problem where the process was draining my battery like crazy and camera stopped working after a period of time just for sitting in my pocket although worked perfectly at boot. It might be something similar but with the sound, unless you want to uninstall all the apps, it can be any...
Edit : forgot to mention, for me it was the yahoo messenger plug in that caused the camera freeze

He guys, my dads N6 for sometime now has no ringtone when someone calls. He uses Zedge to get his tones, I thought maybe something with that, I cleared cache and data, even uninstalled. Still no tone. I checked the priorities in the notifications, I removed all... phone rang one time. Has not rang since.
Also, just remembered, he had a ringtone set for my contact, I set mine to default and still no ring.
I did everything I can think of just short of a reset. Before I do this, do you guys have a suggestion? Thanks in advance.

Check to make sure the phone ringtone and default notification ringtone in the "Sound & Notification" settings are both set to a factory included ringtone (such as sedna and carme). It might be possible that you pointed to a file that no longer exists. A few more obvious suggestions would be to reboot the phone and also double check to make sure the ring volume is not set to vibrate.
If you still cannot get an audible ringtone, a factory reset may not be the worst option. Since you are still on LMY47M with T-Mobile, you could always take this opportunity to wipe and flash the LYZ28E factory image (don't forget to backup your data). I went from LMY47M to LYZ28E last night using the Nexus Root Toolkit and it was painless (you can also do it manually).

Yes I even tried changing ringtones to some of the default ones. This is my dads phone and I wont touch it by updating via the computer. If something should go wrong, I will never hear the end of it.

I completely understand. Have you also checked to make sure he didn't set up a Downtime schedule in the Interruptions settings, that could explain the reason for only hearing it ring once. Also is the "When calls and notifications arrive" setting set to Always interrupt? Also how do the speakers perform when listening to music?

Ya I set the downtime up, when I turned it off it rang once, then went back to no ring. I'm lost with this.

If you end up doing a factory reset here is Google's support link - https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/4596836. I did a factory reset in recovery mode last night with my 64gb Nexus 6 and it took about 30-40 minutes (also remember to plug it in). Good luck!

I've had that occur a few times also since owning my SD version. Never found out what it was.

I had the same problem with my s9 plus, do you have and SD card on your note? Because I did, and I noticed that the vibration problem started when I moved apps from the internal storage to the SD card. So I backed up my card, formated it and voilĂ . Problem solved. You can try to factory reset if that doesn't work.
Yes I have this too. I can't figure out what's causing it

try to reset all application preferences.
I've started getting this, I think it's notifying me when a WiFi network is available...
I've had it aswell. Also has weird noises when locking my phone. So like the usual lock tone and a louder chirping.
Any chance you have a connected device coming in and out of range? When I put my watch on the charger in the evening, i can go to my back porch and it'll vibrate at the same spot every time.
I've also had phantom vibrations before too but just a thought.
