I am using an at&t galaxy s5, and have booted it into recovery mode, in an attempt to reset it to factory. However, I accidentally pressed 'update from ADB', and now I cannot exit recovery. Please help.

Good luck!
So it reboots into recovery mode after pulling battery?
When that happened to me, I pulled battery and booted into download mode (held volume down, home, power). Then used Odin to get going. You might not have to go there, but it's what I did
battery pull should work

What to do?
You can start by posting in the appropriate forum
I can sell you a jig/you can make one.. you plug it into the usb port, power on and it enters download mode so you can do an odin flash.

GALAXY NOTE N7000 /// KITKAT /// KRT16M
HTC One M8 GSM Developer Edition
Installed recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.8-m8.img using Fastboot,
and then installed UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.94.zip
then took a nandroid backup.
Booted into Android - no problems.
But now when I power down it reboots into CWM Recovery.
Even when I select the advanced options of CWM Recovery, and Power Down,
it reboots into CWM Recovery.
Selecting Power Down from Fastboot also reboots into CWM Recovery.
From CWM Recovery I can
Boot System Now
and it boots into the system,
But when I power down, it reboots again into CWM Recovery.
ie, I can't power down.
(note A restart from Android does an actual restart into the phone OS, not into CWM Recovery.)
The above only happens if a power or usb cable is connected.
If no power cable is connected, it shuts down normally.
But, if after it is shut down, I connect a power cable,
it boots into CWM Recovery !!
Note that if I turn back on Power/Fastboot, then I can shutdown properly even with power connected.
Anybody have any idea what is causing this
and what I can do about it?
Have done this before on a Galaxy Nexus with no problems.
Am lost and stuck.
Wrong forum
ok, but then which is the correct forum?
The only forum I can find on CWM Recovery for the HTC OneM8 is for Verizon.
thanks

its a little confusing when HTC release different phones with the same name, always refer to your phone model, not its consumer name.
you are in the Htc one forum (M7)
your forum (htc one M8) is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8
twrp for the M8 can be found here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m8
cwm for the m8 can be found in the sticky thread of the M8 general forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51375998&postcount=3
For your issue, you should try to use TWRP instead of cwm and see if it works. Don't forget to ''fastboot erase cache'' after flashing the recovery.img
ahhhh...I tried so hard too.
Thanks and apologies.
Will repost in the M8 forum.
while I think I can delete the post, I can't delete the thread.
If some kind moderator could delete / burn / blast / brick this thread,
(or whatever else he thinks appropriate)
I would be grateful.

USA VZW S3 / SCH-i535
Hello everyone,
I am new to posting, but I have been reading these forums now for a few years. I had read through 30 pages in this thread but had not seen an answer to the question I had, so I was hoping it was to ask it at the bottom of this thread, to keep continuity for everyone else.
I was wondering if this had been updated to work on the US version of the Samsung Galaxy s3 / SCH-i535 yet?
I have been researching online as to the best possible root and rom process, but it seems that many of the forums and pages which I have read are not all that "start to finish" oriented, as in step by step instructions, so I am going through and trying to piece together all the information from over 300 websites and videos which I have read through in the last 24 hours...
I have chose to use Liquidsmooth as my rom of choice (LS-KK-v3.2-2014-10-05-d2lte..zip), I have downloaded the appropriate Clockwork Mods (recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.5-d2vzw.img and VerizonGS3_CWM6.0.1.2.tar), I have downloaded ODIN Pro v3.65, I think I have downloaded the correct GApps (gapps-jb-20130813-signed.zip) but am having a problem putting it all together.....
I have Win32 Disk Imager and SD Formatter installed (left overs, from when I rooted my old Nook Color) and I think the process is kind of the same, where you use SD formatter to format the SD card, then you use Win32 Disk Imager to flash the recovery image onto the SD card and the custom ROM will be dropped onto the SD card after the recovery image has been created, but I am not sure that is the best or most accurate way......gaining root on the Nook Color seemed much easier than it does with the Samsung Galaxy s3 --- it was only 7 steps and you were done.....maybe I am just over thinking things, I don't know but if someone could point me in the correct direction, I have been all over these forums reading everything for a long time now --- this place is where I learned how to root the Nook Color, so I was hoping I could learn to root and install a new custom ROM on my GS3 too.....if someone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it....
I think once I see the process done from start to finish --- prepping SD card, flashing recovery image, dropping custom ROM, booting it all up, etc --- that I would be better able to understand the process.....can anyone please suggest a good resource for the above?
Thank you in advance for all the replies and assistance.

Can't get to the custom recovery mode
Hello,
I've been trying to root my S3 by strictly following the instructions the ToolKit is giving me. However, the rooting process always ends to a point where I can't get my device to boot into the custom recovery mode. And yes, I've tried several times the 7th option in the main menu of the software (Fix device booting to Stock Recovery after flashing Custom Recovery). Doesn't work at all. I always get the stock recovery screen, no matter what. There's a guy who has has the exact same problem and he has explained it with screenshots on StackExchange (I'm a new user so I can't post a link to a site, but you will find the StackExchange question if you search Google for "Samsung Galaxy SIII: SkipSoft Toolkit: rooting: unable to boot Custom Recovery after flashing"). Any help would be highly appreciated.
Hello,
this tool is a blast...great!
anyway it does not work for me...
i have tryed several things (also Odin manual with other Bootloader Recoverys) it is the same whith all of my tryings
i have a S3 i9305 LTE 4.4.4 Android
The USB Debugging is set (this was the easy part)
if i now try starting ODIN (i have 3.09) and want to set with pda/AP the file it say SUCCESSFULL
Also in the top LEFT it says PASSED...so no error at all
But if i start the phone to recovery (vol up+menue+on) it always starts the standard android recovery and not the new
tryed with philz and some versions of cwm recovery.
is there something i have to do before?
unlock the bootloader or something and if yes how?
Tryed also the Skipsoft Androiud Toolkid V9.0.1 (which finds the phone and also passes Odin successful)
nothing helped until now
regards
EDIT: the only thing i recognizes what is different to all the instructions...in the instructions the COM Port should turn YELLOW if you connect in download mod...my Odin turns mint green...don't think it's a problem but maybe an hint
Having issues rooting for first time
I'm running kitkat on an international LTE model s3 (GT-i9305N) and can't get it to work. I go through the entire process only to find that when I go to install through ADB from the recovery menu I get red text saying:
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
When I reboot I don't have SuperSU installed and if I try and reboot into recovery it is still stock (even though I tried to install TWRP). Any ideas as to how to fix?
Thanks,
Edit: I just realised that the device is supposed to boot straight into custom recovery after odin (at least I think, correct me if I'm wrong), but it doesn't. Any idea why?
[solved] Waiting for USB debugging to be enabled
I'd like to use the Unified Android Toolkit 1.4.0 (Samsung Galaxy S3 V.9.0.3) to renew software on my I9300.
I have the latest Samsung drivers installed, I connect my phone in download modus and wait for the toolkit to be ready.
I could flash whatever I like, it hangs all the time at 'Waiting for USB debugging to be enabled'.
I know this has been asked several times before, but I can't find any solution for it.
I need to do that, because the I9300 isn't running at all. I can't access recovery mode. I can access download mode. The Android itself doesn't start.
Solution: I moved back to heimdall.
Still stuck at "waiting for usb debugging to be enabled"
I am a gt-9300t galaxy s3 from australian vodofone on windows 8.1 machine. I double checked the driver compatibility and it's fine. I have installed android sdk and included adb in my path variable. Could this be a problem? Because I am becoming more and more desperate to root and flush an ARHD. Looking forward for your answer.
Urgent - please help!!!! app&data backup S3 and restore S5?
Hi,
yesterday I crashed the display of my S3.
I already had the donate version of unified android toolkit to root and backup my S3.
Now I am thinking either to repair the S3 or buy S5.
Is it possible to restore apps and data from S3-export to S5?
If yes, what is best practice?
Thanx in advance.
Regards
Hi there, I am currently using the SkipSoft Android Toolkit V9.5 to root my Samsung Galaxy S3 (I9305). I am supposed to select option to flash insecure boot image and root device, but this option is under disabled status. How do I enable this?
hope you all doing great,
so I have a Samsung tab A6 (sm-t585) it has a Knox application which limits a lot of features on my device, I need to get rid of it, flash a new rom and get everything back to normal,
I've already tried to go to "Download mode" by pressing (VOL Down + Power + Home) but it just boots normally (download mode is disabled somehow)
I've also searched for adb solutions but no luck yet
can anyone help!

On Galaxy A6 phones when you want to boot to download mode you need to turn off device, and then connect USB cable while pressing Vol+ and Vol- at the same time. On Galaxy tabs it may look differently.

Hey I have the a6 a 7" t280 rooted, deodexed, xposed. I am having the hardest time trying to get softkeys to work on this using build.prop as it crashed the UI. I suspect its knox so I removed klms agent and a knox setup app from the system but im pretty sure i gotta do more to remove knox.
I cant out why my system ui crashes with a navbar activated.
Is there anywhere I can look for a fix? Im not trying to use a third party app. I am running stock lollipop and would be glad to use a kitchen if i have to. I just domt know where to start
