[Q] Transferring apps without root - Verizon LG G2

So I'm about to get an LG G3 and never got to root my G2. I was going to do it through titanium backup but the new 27A update seems to be giving people trouble with rooting so I don't even want to go through that. Right now I'm backing up my apps through Astro file manager. I was wondering if this would work and I would be able to restore the apps in the G3. Do I have to root my G3 to restore them or what?

Need Google talk APK to install on rooted phone

I had an issue where google talk kept force closing on opening. I'm rooted so I thought it was a good idea since I backed up everything via titanium backup when I first switched over to uninstall it via Titanium, then reinstall it. Of course now for whatever reason titanium doesn't give me the ability to restore the application. Anyone know how to fix this? I think I just need the google apps apk but I don't know where to get the most recent package of them. I had google talk 1.3 installed and its different for froyo. I can always go back to my original nandroid backup if its not possible but I'd lose all the customizations and app installs/uninstalls since. Thanks for the help.
Flash the rom you have installed again.

[Q] Market shows no installed apps after rooting + backup

Hey folks,
I finally got around to root my stock german 2.1u1 milestone with universal androot (z4 and superoneclick wouldn't work).
i don't really have use for root, i just wanted to backup my system as it is now (using titanium backup, for the settings etc).
later that day i ran into unrelated wifi-problems, so i rebooted my phone, only to find that the market shows no apps installed
( except for titanium backup), but all apps are there and working just fine. does the market think this is a new phone?
i tried reinstalling some apps via .apk, which changed nothing and via market, which helped, so i guess i could just reinstall everything via the market.
i guess i also could just get update notifications from appbrain, but i don't really like the inconsistency.
so i guess my questions are basically these: is this a common occurrence? can anyone enlighten me? did i hurt my system?
thanks in advance
so no one ever had the same happen to him?
Same for me
Did you try to recreate my problem(with the same steps)? Or did this happen on an unrelated occasion? Have you found a fix?

[Q] superuser with unrooted tab

I have 7" galaxy tab SCH-i800 2.3.5. I rooted with supreroneclick b4 ota update to 2.3.5. after update titanium backup says not rooted. Now both Blockbuster and google say can not work because rooted. Superuser still on tab and would like to remove it. Reset tab to factory and still same problem and checked su with terminal emulator and not rooted.I think superuser is the problem or could it be unrelated?
There is a froyo stock unrooted.
I don't know if it is worth your while

thanks, i am not sure if this is a correct file so will hold untill i find out more. So the biggger question is: Am I rooted or not? Will this reset to stock froyo unrooted be the way to go or find a way around google and blockbuster not letting me play movies?
Titanium backup will sometimes report that you are not rooted because it hasn't been granted superuser permissions. It's not that you're not rooted, it's just that Titanium backup doesn't have root access. Google and Blockbuster are correct in that you are rooted, it's titanium backup that is the issue.
Try going into your superuser app and seeing if Titanium Backup is on the "Deny" list. If it is, delete it from that list, go into Titanium Backup. (It should prompt you for Root Access, but if it doesn't, go into Menu>More and select "Reload Application"
If Titanium Backup is not on the "Deny" list within the Superuser app, then go into Settings>Applications>Select the "All" Tab>Locate "Titanium Backup">and "Clear Cache">then "Clear Data". Then go back into Titanium backup and it should prompt you for superuser access.
If all of this fails, you might need to update your superuser app. This can be done in the market. Good luck.
I think the OP doesn't want root.
Said "Now both Blockbuster and google say can not work because rooted"
Seems like he just want to go back to stock or completely remove root.
I tried all but to no avail. This must be a common problem, only a few will notice. With all the smart people here, must be some one who is smarter than the big guys. Please help or advise if I install stock rom what can I expect when done like any issues or not being able to get 2.3.5 GB back or losing wifi or 3G? Thanks for all of your help so far.
Rooting again with superoneclick,, if nothing change,, restock with froyo unrooted and rooting again

[Q] Accidently deleted pictures

I accidently deleted a folder containing photos, I tried downloading DiskDigger, Undelete and Hexamob...all for root which I have. When I opened them they ask for root and I allow, then you are supposed to be able to choose which device you want, but there is nothing there. It says if there isn't anything there than you don't have root...but this seems to be a recurring problem after I updated my D4 using the OTA update, that even though I am rooted, a lot of the programs do not work anymore.
Does anybody know of a way I can attempt to recover those pictures I accidetly deleted??!

Did you use something like rootkeeper when you took the OTA? If not then the OTA to ICS probably caused you to lose root. You'll need to root your phone again.

I don't think you have root if most of your programs that required root in GB no longer work after you upgraded to ICS. You need to use OTA Rootkeepr to keep root after an upgrade. So your only choice now is to root and to run those programs to try to recover the photos.
I actually flashed back to orig non-root GB before I updated because I had changed too many things and OTA would fail. I used the droid for win tool and flashed GB system to my phone then went to settings system and got the OTA. After that I rooted. since then most root programs work like rom toolbox, titanium backup for root, root explorer etc. but some programs just don't work anymore, like Droidsheep or Wireless Tether, I believe they just aren't compatable with ICS...I know that a lot of people on google play are saying that after they did their ota wireless tether would not work anymore..everything works on it except it won't switch into AD-HOC mode , which is what I'm guessing changed in the OTA.
I tried using some recovery program for mac but it didn't work, right now I'm downloading riplinux and a couple other recovery distros. since the files were on my removable sd card I am just going to plug it in and try and recover from a computer....does any one have any methods that work best?
When you pull the files off your SD card let me know which program worked for ya... please and thank you

[Q] Migrating App Data

So I have a Moto X that cannot be rooted. I recently got it. I have my old phone currently. However since it cannot be rooted, I cannot use titanium backup. I tried using my backup pro but it didn't migrate any of the data in the apps. So all of my games progress was gone and is still currently on my old phone. Anyone have any insight? Thanks.
Nothing you can do.... Not that I've heard of.
Not as good as Titanium but you can use Helium...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.backup&hl=en_GB
From Chainfire so you can trust it
Or, download the Moto-X toolkit and make sure you have the adb drivers for your old phone installed then plug in your old phone and use the Moto-X toolkit and you can backup either individual apps from or your entire phone then once the backup is complete plug in your Moto-X and restore.
Works :victory:
