Hi, I am using RocketRom v4.1(ICS) with Franco r5 kernel
I am pretty sure that my device is rooted as show in "SD MAID app"
But me can't grant superuser root and not showing any superuser icon in my app drawer~
can anyone help me fix this problem
I need to write and delete system/apps as well
Download superuser from the play store.
Search the forum and find SuperSU and flash it (alternative to superuser). If you are truly rooted though, it should've added it automatically.
I'm on a rooted Nexus 4 with Lollipop and SuperSu v2.20. I've noticed that ES File Explorer does not request root permissions nor is it listed as one of the apps in SuperSU even though its installed and working fine. I've tried reinstalling ES but it still does not ask for root persmissions in SuperSU. There are other root apps that are going thru SuperSU fine. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Install latest version of SuperSU (2.23) and latest version of ES (3.2.3).

Thanks for the response. I was already on ES 3.2.3. I update SuperSU to 2.23 but still having the same issue where ES does not go thru SuperSU.

I had this issue so deleted and reinstalled ES File Explorer, but now I just get "ES File Explorer isn't responding".
I've Googled this error but no one else seems to be getting it.
So, I have switched to FX for the moment, till ES fix the problem (or I discover what is causing it)
Did you go under the tools tab and turn on root browser? I don't have lollipop so i can't try it out myself.

This worked for me, thanks!
Yeah no prob! Make sure to turn on show hidden files. It really comes in handy. Ive actually had some issues with ES lately where it corupts apk files when you manually push them to /system/app. So be careful its been a real pain in the butt...

this method is for vroot but work on kingo
5. Go to play store and install SuperSU.
6. Start SuperSU and you will be asked for permission by ???? 1.0.4, choose ??(means allow). (Should be the right side option.)
7. SuperSU will prompt to install SU binary, go ahead with OK and it will display successful.
8. Now,unistall king root with titanium backup
Note: If you uninstall straight away from app manager, you need to make sure SuperSU updated the binary.
9. Re-run SuperSU to make sure everything is alright. You will be prompt again to install SU binary, just do what it asked.
10. After that, you are rooted with SuperSU and ???? 1.0.4 will not be there anymore.
I HAVE tried this but kinguswe wont let installation successfull always installation failed I have tried to remove
king user with titanium backup but it remove root permission so is there any way else to replace it and thank you
SU
Think I used this method:
1. Download and unzip "Replace_VRoot_With_SuperSU.zip" file
2. Copy the folder "mrw" to phone storage
3. Copy SU. apk to system folder using a root explorer and change permissions to match your other system apps.
4 Reboot and update binaries
5 Remove king user and associated apps.
There is a full instruction set somewhere but I believe that this was my adaptation of the method using only a root explorer. I used Xplore.

It worked for me on my THL4000. I didn't need step 3, though, as the script, did it for me.
Thanks for sharing!
4.2.2
Hi guys.
Currently have MM pre-rooted firmware installed, with TWRP and SuperSu 2.71.
Using ESFile Explorer Pro, I can gain root access to /, /system, but not /system/odex.app or /odex.priv-app or /odex.framework.
Anyone know why, or a work around for this?
Peace.
I would suggest either trying with another application (like Root Explorer) or SLiMM 1.9 (another MM based ROM, which works fantastically well, if you ask me).
Thanks, but no dice with Root Explorer or other apps.

If you have recovery, Try re-flashing SuperSU.zip and see if the root explorer applications work
Also trried that, but no luck..
Strange I can get root access to /system but some folders within it are excluded.
Thanks.
With the coming of the great Google Android 7 it seems there is no more system mode supersu support (currently). Leaving us Nougat fans to use system-less mode... which I just cant stand... Most root apps wont work with system-less and you have to flash a ton of system-less zips to get certain apks to work. My question is will there ever be system root for Nougat; or maybe there already is and I am an idiot?! And if not; is that in the works?
Thanks in advance!
Perhaps it would be better if those apps were updated to support systemless root. Also which apps are you having trouble with?
ES File Explorer for one :/
