Hello everyone glad to say that starting tomorrow I will be new to this section of XDA because I will be taking over my sisters HTC One M7 Google Play edition! I am new here though so idk exactly what roms will work on the phone or what to look for. Can someone please lead me in the right path to find good roms/kernals and any tips for the google play edition of this phone?
PS. I am coming from rooting and installing custom roms on previous phones so I am not 100% noob when it comes to this. Just new phone, new ways of doing things. I came from the samsung galaxy avant (Which let me tell you is an amazing jump now that I got this HTC One lol). Anyways, glad to be on this section

Welcome aboard
A couple things you should note with the GPe, Don't lock / relock the bootloader. their is a bug that will keep it locked and you won't be able to flash anything. Use fastboot getvar all to the the complete info for your phone and if your s-on you need to get it s-off as soon as possible.
Getting s-off depends on what hboot the phone is on, GPe is normally hboot 1.54, you can try Rumrunner to s-off the phone.
good luck and enjoy the M7

So Wind Mobile just recently released their version of the HTC One on August 27th, 2013:
http://mobilesyrup.com/2013/08/23/wind-mobile-launching-the-htc-one-on-august-27th/
http://shop.windmobile.ca/ProductCatalog/Handsets/HandsetDetails.aspx?id=HTC+One(WINDCA)&color=green
From a little bit of researching, it seems like there are some prerequisites for performing S-Off. From what I've read, it seems to be the following:
Phone must be an older release as the newer hboots cannot be S-Off
If you are an older hboot, there are certain radios/firmware(?) that prevent S-Off in combination with the hboot
You must be on the stock rom
I'm worried that my new HTC One is too new to be able to S-Off as it was just released last week from the carrier. Also, because it was just released there are no RUU that can be used to downgrade the hboot(?). I'm assuming my understanding is correct.
As of right now, the phone is completely stock, no modifications have been made. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to perform the following:
Install CWM Recovery
How to make a generic Nandroid so that anyone that needs to go back to stock Wind Mobile can use it (since no RUU is released)
If S-Off is possible given the current hboot and radio/firmware combination currently installed.
How to SuperCID this phone
How to keep S-Off and install hboot 1.54/5
I appreciate any help, I've attached a picture of my bootloader to add more details into my inquiry.

No problem, you are welcome!
Hello guys !
I have an HTC One M7 since a year now and when I got it I transformed it into a GPE HTC One.
I know how to adb, how to fast boot, I'm s-off, don't worry.
Now I've completely lost track about EVERYTHING here. Since I got a Nexus 5 I didn't use my One much.
Now I would love to play a bit with the new Sense but I'm kind of stuck. With so many radio, RUU, etc around here (and I haven't followed anything since months) I'm lost.
I have HTC One GPE s-off and I want HTC One Sense version with international ROM (quick OTA).
Anyone care to help me a bit and point me in the right direction ? that would be so lovely.

you have everything required ..now we need your fastboot getvar all to determine what RUU you can use. Exclude your serial no. and IMEI. What carrier was your phone on originally ?
I'm about to S-OFF my m8 and turn it into a GPE device. Before I do that I was to make sure I know how to get back to s-on and stock I can't find any instructions online for my device anyone can give me some advice on this before I spend my $25 for sunshine.

DO NOT UPDATE TO GPE BEFORE YOU S-OFF
As someone who recently started playing with his HTC One (m8) in hopes of international use, I had hoped to save $25 dollars and not S-off until I needed to.
YOU NEED TO S-OFF FIRST.
There is no way to S-Off with Lollipop installed, and you will have to get back to stock before you can S-off.
All of these guides are now outdated because of Lollipop and Firewater is nonexistent at this point in time.
And almost every way you attempt to revert to a stock image that Sunshine will actually run on will surprisingly be met with errors and issues. I am in the process of going through some of these hiccups myself, and am hoping I can help others with some of the ones I have ran into.
I unlocked through HTC Dev, Got Sprint to SIM unlock for me, and installed GPE 5.0.1...........Turns out the radio still doesn't work and any and all other mods will require you to S-OFF, but you can no longer S-Off because you have updated your phone.
EVERY GUIDE SHOULD HAVE THIS INFORMATION, at least until a new Sunshine comes out. Save yourself a **** ton of trouble and S-off right away. I wish there were newer guides that told me this.

Thanks for the help yea I can't get sunshine to work at all and I figured it was because of lollipop. Hopefully I can get a cm ROM running on my phone to pass the time as its been impossible so far.

Hey all, I recently acquired an HTC one m7 and I previously had an xperia z1. I had unlocked the bootloader and rooted my previous phone but coming to m7's page I've found that there are many things new here. First is the S-Off business.
I basically wanted to ask if there's a specific order in which I should go. For example S-off first, then root then unlock bootloader or anything like that.
And secondly, for the xperia line, there was a tool called Flashtool that basically did all the things you need to unlock/root your phone. I was wondering if there's something like that for the One M7 so that I can flash stock firmware if need be.
Also, I'm on kitkat 4.4.3 HBOOT 2.49 so should I keep some things in mind?
Also, what is CID?
Sorry for so many questions, any help is appreciated
Thank you!
uhh, I will tell you what i know here related to your questions.
Firstly, if you want to customize your phone, first thing is to unlock your bootloader which is easy to do. Then you need to flash a custom recovery. After that you can do what you like.as to s-off, if you don't have special requirements,I think it's not a must step.
Secondly, there is indeed a tool for htc one.you may find it in one's development forum.
May that help you!

If I unlock bootloader before S-off, will I be able to get back "UNLOCKED" status or will it be "RELOCKED"

yeah you can get back to full locked status, but only with s-off, be careful though, theres not alot about for the dual sim really, you can pretty much find everything in the general section for the dual. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2495697
I think for your HBOOT, use Rumrunner to s-off. http://rumrunner.us/
EDIT: sorry for your HBOOT version you needed to use firewater s-off tool, but as thats discontinued, you'll have to try sunshine s-off tool which will cost $25 if it can s-off your device, it will run some checks first, if it can then you pay and it proceeds, if it cant it will let you know why and you dont pay: http://theroot.ninja/
if I remember correctly, CID is carrier identification.
the main things that matter, and that you need to take note of it your planning on changing them are CID, MID, HBOOT version and OS or version main (same thing really)

I don't have much experience with Verizon devices as I'm UK based but if your giving it away, you should just leave it S-OFF and try getting an original ROM from the HTC ONE Verizon thread. It's a different story if your trading it in though as most retail shops would check the Security status. You will need to find the relevant RUU file and then S-ON using a toolkit. You'll have to search through the forums man, sorry if I haven't been much help. I will take look when I have more time for ya and let you know if I find anything.
Hey found a link in the intarnational HTC One thread, all information on how to return to stock with S-ON is here but make sure you give it a good read and remember that your using Verizon phone so the methodology may vary a bit but it is outlined in the thread.
