Thank you brother. I'll try to flash with these instructions.
I was trying to do it again. Follow instructions. But I still fail bootloop logo.
And this message. Process.com.htc.htcdialer is not responding Do you want to close it?
I tried more than 10 times. Maybe I am a mistake. But I was tried to follow all the steps. And I see some one. that is the same in every rom. It will have the same style a lock screen.
Thanks brother for introducing.
I will try to. I want to use it.:crying:

Hello, I have a problem with updating my HTC One, usually I would go to phone's settings, info, updates, it would scan for new software, download it, reboot, install and it's good to go. Recently I rooted my phone and installed TWRP, now when it downloads the update it reboots but enters TWRP recovery but what do I do from there? If I just reboot I still get the update prompt. Thanks for any help.

a little bit of searching, would have told you that you need to have stock recovery for OTAs to work.... (and obviously stock ROM)
Ok just a quick set of questions then so I don't brick my phone if you don't mind..
So to update I go like this:
- flash stock recovery with TWRP (recovery 4.19.401.9.img I found this?)
- go to settings etc and update as usual
- when updated flash TWRP again
- reroot my phone
I this ok? Will I lose any data doing it like this? My phone is just rooted, s-on.
Thanks.

you're getting the update to .11 ?
anyway, yes, get stock recovery 4.19.401.8, available here: http://d-h.st/0Jy thanks to @Guich
flash that, and you should be good to install the OTA, you may loose root along the way, in which case you'll need to re-root after the OTA

This is what I am working with.
I have downloaded countless RUU files, both zips on my mac, and EXE on my pc. My theory is that I need to get S-OFF to flash the RUU on my phone. I can't reach recovery nor the rom itself. I always get the signature fails. All the time. Even when I take out a signatured recovery.img file from the RUU and fastboot flash recovery I can't get passed it.
Basically I need someone to help med with the question; How do I get from here to a completely stock rom?
Can someone please help me or even point me in the right direction?

Yep the ruu should work but don't forget it will not remove the tampered flag and will not set the bootloader to Locked instead of Re-locked.
Dont forget that this ruu will update your hboot to 1.56+ and there is no reliable s-off method for this version atm. So you'll be stock rom with a tampered and relocked bootloader with almost no possiblities to s-off atm.

Well I am just happy too see it working again. Have had it like this for the past 2 mounths. So I can wait for a S-OFF for the 1.56.
Thanks for the information though! I have just now downloaded the file. Will test it and report back.

yes but the tampered flag and relocked bootloader will void your warranty if you need to send the device for repair.

You should flash a custom rom like arhd first and s-off then run the above ruu.
S-off is difficult to achieve atm on hboot 1.56 which will be flashed with the above ruu.
If something goes wrong with your phone and it must be send for repair, you'll need to set the bootloader to ''LOCKED'' not ''RELOCKED'' and remove the ''TAMPERED'' flag which require S-OFF. Then you'll need to turn back S-ON but it will cause the tampered flag to come back if its done on hboot 1.55+ So you'll also need to downgrade your phone to 1.44/1.54 before turning back S-ON, downgrading require S-OFF.
Just in case, its better to S-OFF before running the RUU imo, otherwise you might be stock with a tampered and relocked bootloader for some time.

Okay. It't seemed so hard cause of the signing problems I have had when trying to flash roms through fastboot. My recovery is screwed up and I have tried to flash TWRP on there but it won't let me change any of that stuff. Just signature failure. All the time! Tried the RUU exe file and it got an error saying it was the wrong one for my device..
If you have any suggestions to where I can find a recovery / which rom I would be very happy. :fingers-crossed:

Yes obviously you can't flash a recovery because your bootloader is RELOCKED! you need an unlocked bootloader to flash recovery.
And you can't flash rom from fastboot, only from a custom recovery!
Only an ruu can be flashed from fastboot when the phone is in RUU mode (fastboot oem rebootRUU)

Unlock bootloader
flash the recovery and clear cache:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-m7.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
push the rom to your sdcard:
boot in twrp
adb push <name_of_rom>.zip /sdcard/
flash the rom:
In twrp select ''install''
chose the rom
swipe to flash
reboot after its complete

Thanks for everything! I have unlocked boot loader and flashed recovery. Launched in twrp and pushed the rom to the sdcard. But when I try to flash from recovery it just fails. Something wrong with cache. I tried to wipe cache / dalwik and do a complete clean install but same problem again. Can't even wipe cache. I will update you with exactly what says if needed.
Edit: This is exactly what it says when I try.

Well never mind the last post. The problem was in safari which always decompresses the zip file before it can be accessed. When I compressed it again and pushed it over to the M7 I got "failed flash" problem. I tried downloading through google chrome instead, the zip was intact, and I was able to flash the rom!
I just want to say thank you for your time and effort in this small problem. It literally took me 30 minutes to get my phone from f**cked to working again. Thank you sooo much! Next time I'm going to ask for help here at the forums instead of just reading myself blind and not getting anywhere.

there is no RUU for your current version, unlock bootloader, then flash custom recovery (you cannot flash custom recovery with a [re]locked bootloader)
check the Frequently Asked Question sticky page 3 for more info
TWRP 2.6.3.3 still seems the recommended version for some ROMs including ARHD, even though 2.8.0.1 is out (and could potentially work), but if you wanna play it safe use 2.6.3.3 for ARHD.... always check the OP about recommended custom recovery

Hi,
So I have used a guru reset for my Vodafone AU branded HTC One (M7) as there is no RUU for it. I have gone ahead and "relocked" the bootloader (I'm S-ON BTW), and then attempted to run OTA. All works fine until it finished installing the update after which it just goes into a boot loop. I've attempted this twice, both times wiping everything beforehand and installing stock recovery (obviously) and stock radio. Is there something else I need to do to get the OTA to work properly or is it impossible to run OTA using this guru reset.
Any help would be much appreciated.

It is the latest OTA available, containing Sense 5.5 and Android 4.4.2. I'm not on stock anymore so I don't know any more specifics.

This was the only stock ROM for Vodafone AU I can find. I originally made a nandroid backup when I first rooted the phone but that has since been accidentally deleted. If you have a more recent version of the stock Vodafone AU ROM that would be much appreciated.
version-main is the most important bit and it's blank :-/ I think older versions of TWRP or CWM had a blank version-main bug? Do you remember what was the last OTA update you took or roughly when? Otherwise, maybe update recovery and see if version-main shows up.
Australian stock unbranded nandroids should also work for you. Go check the Australian users thread for nandroid backups for almost every version (x.x.980.x).
@yatindroid I'm curious about making my own reset ROM. Got any links to info/how to?

Do you have Nandroid backup ?
I have Ubuntu so its easy to open and extract nandroid backup and compression
open nandroid backup extract system and data/preload folder
Take any reset rom replace its system and data folder to your backup folders
replace boot recovery radio files from same version (extract from OTA firmware)
edit aroma config details version etc with notepad++
now zip all files and its ready nothing much require
I think @Joeisgood99 have reset rom 6.xx.980.x version
Aah pretty simple then. Yeah, I have nandroid backups. In fact I supplied the contents of the reset ROM in question in this thread. My main stumbling block was downloading a reset ROM as htc1guru was down the last couple times I thought about doing this.

ok i will send build base zip
@deeevan & @yatindroid.
I'm away from my computer until Friday so can't upload my aroma reset to stock until then.
I never uploaded it coz I haven't had a chance to test it ( deeevan understands why) as 6.11.980.12 is still the latest OTA for Optus Australia, and that's the version my reset will take you back to.
When I get home I'll post a link on the Aussie m7 thread and I'll pm the link to you as well yatindroid in case u need to pass on to others. @deeevan below is the link (go back a page or two,) where @alray walks me through how to make your own aroma reset. All u need is a RUU/OTA of what version u wanna go back to, any old aroma reset .zip and @alray s detailed instructions and your set.

Thanks! 6MB is much nicer to download than 1GB+, especially when I'm going to delete most of that anyway

Sorry for resurrecting an old zombie thread, but after a few days of searching the forums and multiple flashes and resetting of my phone (HTC One m7, Australia Vodafone), this has been the thread closest to my own issue. Like OP Poster acnak, I am trying to reset my phone to stock using Guru Reset (guru_reset_m7_2-24-980-2.zip) and while it works, when it goes to install an OTA when it reboots it gets stick in a boot loop.
I have looked for a more recent reset but can't find one. Can someone point me in the direction of one, or give pointers on how to make one myself from one of the ota I have downloaded... or something equally as easy but obscure that I haven't found it yet.

You can't use that guru reset rom to restore your phone, its way to old, your phone is running the 7.21.980.22 firmware so you would need a 7.21.980.2 or 7.21.980.22 guru reset rom and unfortunately there are no guru reset roms for 7.xx.xxx.x version. You can't make a guru reset rom from an ota update. ota updates are only patches, not the entire system and even if it would be possible to do it, you would have the same problem since the reset rom wouldn't match your firmware version.
Simply flash the 7.21.980.22 RUU using instructions from here
This will reset your phone back to 100% stock.

Many thanks on the link and info. I followed the instructions but got the following fail message
Code:
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAIL12 signature verify fail
FAILED (remote: 12 signature verify fail)
From my understanding this means there are issues with my bootloader version which is 1.61.0000. Is there anyway to change this, or an alternative file that corresponds with my hboot version?
Cheers

I have a HTC One M7 that is rooted with ViperOne ROM, ElementalX 10.8 Kernel, 4.06.1540.2_firmware_darkboot Firmware, and TWRP v2.6.3.4 Recovery with the following About information
Android Version: 4.4
HTC Sense Version: 5.5
Software Number: Viper One 4.3.0
HTC SDK API Level: 5.65
Kernerl Version:
3.4.10-g31f7883

Build Number: 4.06.1540.3 CL283265 release-keys
Browser Version: WebKit/534.30
I have been busy and out of touch with the Rooting world and knowledge and I am currently trying to upgrade my phone software. I would request someone to please help me to design a plan of action which will help me with the following
1. Which component is installed first? Recovery/Kernel/Firmware/ROM?(Step wise info plz)
2. How(or where?) to download and flash the latest stock components?
3. What to keep in mind? (Additional information)
I will alternatively request someone to please assist me via Chat in case I walk into any hurdles. For any additional information required in order to understand the situation please let me know what to look for and where and I will post the related information.
Thanks a tonne
So I was trying to read a bit about the stuff and I found out a RUU flash should work well in this case. Still, I just need a bit of supervision by an expert to assist me with the same. If I understand properly the RUU should help to return to stock. But what if I simply wanted to update the different things like kernel, firmware, ROM, Radio, recovery. Is that going to be ok? Should an RUU assist in updating them all too?(i doubt cuz i flashed kernel/firmware and rom seprately)

I would like to update the different components if possible. Like radio, rom, kernel, recovery(did this already), firmware(if any updates of the one I have. Also, latest htc sense and viper rom.
I think i dont want to do stock anymore since it doesn't seem to be the best. So basically, just updating the phone is sufficient. All your advice is welcome and highly appreciated and really thankful that you took out time to read through and try to assist me

ok then change your mid to PN0710000
Code:
adb shell
su
echo -ne '\x50\x00\x4e\x00\x30\x00\x37\x00\x31\x00\x30\x00\x30\x00\x30\x00\x30' | dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p6 bs=1 seek=16384
exit
adb reboot bootloader
Confirm your mid is now PN0710000:
Code:
fastboot getvar mid
flash the 7.19.401.2 firmware first:
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip M7_UL_Firmware_7.19.401.2.zip
fastboot flash zip M7_UL_Firmware_7.19.401.2.zip
fastboot reboot-bootloader
then flash the other firmware versions incrementally (one by one) until your phone is on 7.19.401.51:
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip 7.19.401.22.zip
fastboot flash zip 7.19.401.22.zip
fastboot reboot-bootloader
7.19.401.22
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip stock_firmware_7.19.401.30_OTA.zip
fastboot flash zip stock_firmware_7.19.401.30_OTA.zip
fastboot reboot-bootloader
7.19.401.30
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip M7_UL_Firmware_7.19.401.51.zip
fastboot flash zip M7_UL_Firmware_7.19.401.51.zip
fastboot reboot-bootloader
7.19.401.51
Then flash the latest twrp version:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.M0-0-m7univ.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
and finally boot in recovery and flash the latest viper rom version, and the latest kernel of your choice (probably ElementalX). If going to flash elementalX, don't forget that you need to choose the kernel version made for your android and Sense version, not necessarily the latest one.
And voilà, your phone can't be more up-to-date than that :good:
btw better to copy/paste the command starting with "echo -ne" at step 1. A typo in this command could brick your phone.
Since I am in New Delhi, India... will changing the Model ID number affect the compatibility of my phone with the local carriers or in any other manner whatsoever?
