The situation- Friend gave me his htc g1 which had a cracked lcd but was in full working order, got it repaired from a shop. Couple of weeks later whilst attempting to root the phone the screen died, opened it up and the flex cable was broken. Repaired it myself this time and once I did the backlight now worked but there was no picture. It plugs into the computer fine,I think I've factory reset it(it vibrated a second time after i held the keys). Any ideas on how I can fix the problem or what could be the problem? I have tried to unroot with a blank screen as well and so I have no idea what the status of the phone software wise is...Although I can hear sounds occasionally when I press the camera button or the volume buttons when the phone is on- It vibrates when it is turned on.
Kind regards, Nabeel
Is it bricked? IS there anythign I can try? Any help would be appreciated...
Bump =(...I am currently trying to drain the battery and then charging it overnight....This may take a while....
Battery was drained, charged it up using my computer and a min-usb cable, still nothing...Is it bricked...Any help would be nice...
Hi,
I recently went on vacation taking my 11-month old HTC One with me. Everything was working fine until one afternoon I went for a swim and returned, only to find my phone not switching on. That was puzzling, since it had about 50% charge left, and I was gone only for about 30 minutes, keeping the phone in my bag. I returned to my room and kept it on charge. No blinking red LED, no solid LED, nothing. Started to panic and tried various solutions specified here, all button combos I knew of (Power, Power+Vol Up, Power+Vol Down, Power +Vol Up+Vol Down, Light trick), but nothing worked. Connected phone to PC, and could hear the familiar 'USB Connected' sound, but nothing else apart from that, no storage device detection, nothing. Tried ADB, fastboot but since device is not being detected, they're useless. Kept it on charge for the whole night, still no response.
Decided to sent it in to HTC Service Centre, guess what, they call me back and say there's LIQUID DAMAGE to my phone's motherboard and I'll have to choke up Rs.14500 (around $250) to get it repaired. I argued vehemently that the phone was nowhere near water but to no avail. I took the phone back from them and was by now totally in despair. Kept it in rice for 2 days, still nothing. Tried out a local repair shop but the guy there has no idea about single case phones. My phone has everything stock, stock ROM, stock Sense OS and with Android 4.3 updated. I am really at my wits end now, and can't afford to pay that much, particularly considering the amount I had to cough up to get it. Guys, please HELP!! :crying:

I don't think we can help you with hardware damage. Your phone's motherboard is dead... from liquid damage or not idk but the fact is that it must be replaced and you have to pay someone to do the job or buy the part and fix it yourself if you have the high level skills required.
Sorry ;(

But how can it be concluded that my phone has hardware damage if I haven't done anything to it?? My phone's still under warranty..
Achilles try holding the power button and volume up under a bright light for two minutes. I know it sounds crazy but it worked for many people with similar issues.

I did try that as I specified above, held the device with Vol Up + Power, Vol Down + Power under a bright CFL light (tube), no response.
Try plugging it into a USB port ..leave it for about an hour...and then unplug and immediately plug it back into a wall socket..and while it's plugged in, try powering it up after about 10 mins...I've seen this working more times than one for the Galaxy Tab 3..no harm in trying it out.
On a lighter note, are you sure you didn't take the One along for the swim ??

Thanks.. Will try that too.. And no..I remember coming back and taking it out of my bag..
Nothing has worked. I really don't seem to have any choice now but to give in the phone for repair.
all of a sudden galaxy s6 died. it was about 70% charged, i received a call of about 5 minute length. then i just placed phone on my desk. i picked up the phone after about half an hour to make a call, and it won't turn on. I thought battery may have been drained for some weird reason, so let me charge it, but after connecting to the charge, i don't see charging led come up. still kept phone in charge for about 20 minutes, still it will not power up. The phone "was" on stock release, haven't rooted or anything like that. it simply went to heaven. :crying:
called up t-mobile, at least they will send a new phone, but what will be the life without phone for next day ?
hold all four buttons (power, vol up/down, home) until it reboots. this happened to me a few days ago (assuming it's the same issue)
thanks master, that worked, but what could have caused it ?? when customer service wanted me to press vol+up, home , and power button, it didn't work, but holding all four worked, so puzzling ! anyway, they are sending me the replacement, so i think, i will swap the phone.

i know it is a pain to set up a new phone, but i don't want to take a chance, if this has happened once, it can happen again. it may be that hardware has some issues like loose pins or something. I have never paid attention before, but now I remember that sometime when i connected it to charge with the supplied quick charger, it will just show "cable charging" , and rest of the time it will show "fast charging". So, this may have something to do with that.

no good news, mine first t715 also died like this. i hope I was wrong but...
Take it in for warranty m8
Might be worth waiting for the battery to completely drain and then try and turn it on after getting some charge in it.
I've had problems recently, after using OTG, the tab's display will just turn off, and when I mean off, it's just the screen, the tab is actually still on, as you can feel the heptic feedback, the only way is to force reset using the power volume and home key.
Another problem, still recently, I had about 12% power, so I just connected the USB to charge the tab, the screen started to flicker and then nothing works, after 10 minutes reconnected the power, and it started to charge up from 0%, it seems like the tab has gone haywire, I had decided to trade it in the next few days for the xperia X performance.
Not even bothered to take it to samsung service center (still under warranty), I can't stand their customer service, my tab has been through a repair before, my home key died and it kept on grabbing the side of the hole and sticking down, they replaced the part, but left something inside causing a lump at the back, problem sorted out, but the buttom kept on grabbing the side of the hole and not coming out if you press it slightly on one side, I even showed them the problem, and they agreed, and they say that a normal person won't press the button like that, and it's normal, I did mention that I have tried a few units and does not have the same problems, they just said it's normal, so I said to them if this is normal what isn't normal, and do they tell all there customers if they have a problem that its normal.
So I am completely sick of there BS, trying to keep away from samsung stuff.

Got rid of it, it should be a problem internally, anyway I've traded it for a Sony Xperia X performance.
Mine also died few days ago. I tried to charge it with different chargers and cables but without any success. POWER +VOL DOWN is not rebooting the tablet.
Now I am planning to open the back cover and will try to disconnect the battery. I believe it will help.

I am sorry, I did not have enough time for that in the last days. I will do that probably later today and will share the result.

Unfortunately, no. It didn't work. I removed the back cover and managed to disconnect the battery. I left it disconnected for few hours, then I put everything back together. After, I tried to charge it and power it on again but without any success.
Any advice and suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Hello all, something weird happened to my phone today and I would please like some help to get it back working.
So as I was in the ebay application when the phone suddenly froze. I left it for a minute hoping that it will unfreeze but it didn't. So I long pressed the power button in order to do a hard reset. The phone shut down and then its started booting but it got stuck at the Samsung logo with the yellow triangle. I thought that was weird as it never did this before, so I long pressed the power button in order to do another hard reset. But since then, the phone is dead.
It cannot start, when I plug it in the charger the battery icon doesn't show, and I cannot get into recovery or download mode
I have tried removing the battery/simcard/sd card but nothing seemed to work. The phone was running Nightowl's Marshmallow rom.
About a month ago I changed the charging port flex cable with a cheap one off ebay. Could that be the culprit? It seemed to work fine though.
Does this mean the end of the long life of my device or is there any hope of reviving it back?
Thanks a lot in advance
Hello. It is probably a hardware problem. Take it to service center to check the usb micro port, pmc or emmc. Or just leave it alone for some time and try to boot it again.
