No, don't do that.
Download stock b560 and install in with the 3-button method and it'll work. ( if you can't acess the install part, just extract and flash stock recovery from update.app).

my english is not good......sorry
if you want to go back from EMUI 4.0 to 3.1 you have to flash this one first
https://depositfiles.com/files/nv9pag8i8
rename to update.app and put it in dload and install it (not for daily use, just for downgrade)
after installing It you can flash any rom you want without losing your IMEI
and if you want to flash stock EMUI 4.0 it will be simpler, just put it in dload and update or you can use adb if you want

Hi. Has the p8 lite received the emui 4.1 update?
I want it to install the esal v. 2.2 kernel on it.
Nope. Unfortunately, it has not received it yet
Dont think its gonna be an emui update, if we gonna get update probably we gonna see just security updates.

Oh my bad, btw what is the difference in vodafone version? My phone is unbranded honor 4x and I didn't even realise that firmware was vodafone version.
Problem
I'm not on vodafone. I need the update to work on all cellular networks.
But I want to try still, maybe it works.
I downloaded the "update.zip" for my model, what I need to do with it???
Don't waste your time. It won't work. Unless you install it through fastboot.

https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-4x/how-to/install-emui-4-1-4x-4c-g-play-g-play-t3515702 This allows you to flash UPDATE.APP in TWRP. Worked for my (honor 4x) and it says it also works on p8lite.
I guess not, since it's official firmware and TWRP is custom recovery...

thank you so much! this looks like this can work
Yes, You can install from twrp, like other .zip file.
But, don`t waste Your time. This Vodafone ROM is bad - battery leak is very fast, even if phone is on stand-by.

For me there is no battery problem (Using esal kernel) drops only 3-5% over night.
If the update doesn't exist or it is just for vodafone, how XePeleato did make esal v2.2 for emui 4.1?

Well I think there is also emui 4.1 for huawei y6 pro II (can't remeber correct name) which is same phone than p8lite. Maybe it has unbranded version. Though if you take backup you can safely test does vodafone version work for your p8lite.

I tested vodafone version. I did how it said, I flashed the file, and I was stuck at boot logo. Almost killed my phone. TWRP, didn't work again, had to flash it again, and even stock rom was not booting after flashing it. Happily, a custom emui rom worked fine on the device.

Hello,
I'm trying to root my honor 5c/7 lite that is running android 7.0 and EMUI 5.0 on it and it runs very smooth , but when I flash TWRP 3.1.0.0, twrp never loads up, it's just stuck in "You device is booting now" when trying to enter recovery.
The method I use is the manual method via bootloader:
HTML:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
fastboot reboot
And yes my bootloader is obviously unlocked!
I did only have 20% battery left however, if that affects it at all?
Before I flashed Android 7.0 and EMUI 5.0 onto the device, I had no problem rooting it the same way with the same recovery.
UPDATE:
I'm now on android 6.0 / EMUI 4.1.2
I have flash TWRP 3.1.0.0 and rooted with superSu v2.79 SR3

Refer to the honor site for downgrade instruction. U need to flash a seperate update.app before flashing the full update.app. U will get these all in the downgrade instructions.

In the rollback instructions u will find a seperate update.app and a full update.app. U need to first flash the seperate update.app by putting it in dload folder. After flashing that reboot then replace that dload folder with the full update in dload. Flash that. Then u will be on EMUI 4.
Ok, I have successfully downgraded my phone now. Is it now possible to root my phone then flash android 7 onto it?

You can root it after flashing Emui 5, but u can't flash twrp as of now. Twrp for Emui 5 is not available right now.
I just flashed lineage OS 13 instead
So there is no way to root emui 5/android 7 without rolling back to 6?

same issue here. if twrp doesn't support emui 5 as of now, aren't there any other recoveries for it like cwm or anything else? tried kingroot etc with no luck.. and nougat update came with SO MUCH bloatware that needs to be uninstalled asap!

You don't need bootloader nor twrp for FullOTA-MF-PV
Those with Public version can be updated via update.app 3button method and have locked bootloader

Hello
I think, I tested, another person too and its did not work.
I have successfully loaded the dload only from l31c432b380, dload update.app, it installs the system correctly and it remains vns-l31c432b380
look
I made myself, a quiet and up-to-date installation.
Of c432b380,
Dload update.zip http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1258/g104/v92405/f1/full/update.zip from b370 again.
Twrp from hassan, install cust.img and version.img from c432b388. http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...l/VNS-L31_hw_eu/update_full_VNS-L31_hw_eu.zip
Everything works fine.
Re, there is this too, with phone settings.
It was not written in b380.
Hey I have p20 pro EU version 6/128
Today I got a new update about Google security.
I want every update run on my phone
But I rooted my device.
I wanted first to ask guys , I tried to update but was unsuccessful. I do not have twrp because of the method I used to root p20 pro didn't allow me having magisk and twrp recovery.
So now if I want to update have to do it manually ?
2 questions
1) which program do I use ?
2) where I can find the firmware Official WITHOUT BEEING CHANGED ANYTHING inside from someone third.
Thanks John
You need to flash the stock bootloader. If you are running Pie and Magisk, you have a modified bootloader. I don't know where to download the stock one. Could probably rip it from a stock Pie firmware.
Me to have twrp on my p20 pro and i cannot update my phone.. Have new update but when I try system update after download, its entering to recovery mode for install the firmware but it cannot coz working twrp and unsuccessful installation.
Me to look for stock recovery for clt-l29 pie

Download the current version you are using. Extract recovery_ramdisk.img and flash. Reboot and take OTA update. You will lose root, as I said you have a modified recovery and need stock to take OTA.
Edit - Once your done, patch the bootloader from Magisk and flash to get root again.
