Hi.
Is this normal usage battery in the lte model of s3? 2h of screen on with auto mode is correct? How to improve battery life in this model? Battery is new, original from Samsung.
Thanks for reply.

It's not a normal battery usage.
Sammy 4.3 is known to have big battery drain issues on i9305 (mainly mdm_hsic_pm0 stuck wakelock). I recommand to use latest official KitKat firmware HERE or use a custom ROM based on this latest 4.4.4 firmware.
Anyway, if you want to stay with 4.3 you have to check battery usage with for instance Wakelock detector on playstore or BetterBatteryStats xda's edition app you can find HERE.
Install one of those apps and use your phone normally, then take screenshots (in english) of the battery stats in the app and post here your results.
Maybe we could find something interesting.
Thanks for reply and help to know. My girlfriend buy this phone week ago so I don't know it very well. but I gonna check and maybe install this 4.4 update. Can I do it from OTA and only later do stock settings?

I don't know if OTA will work in your case, it depends on your carrier. I've never used OTA.
I recommand to do a clean install :
- Backup all your data
- Factory reset
- Install 4.4.4 firmware with ODIN (there are plenty tutorials in xda to use ODIN) OR use OTA if OK for you.
- Configure your phone and restore backups.
Once, done, If you're happy with Stock official firmware stay like this.
Otherwise you can root and and flash custom recovery and flash custom ROM like AMCHA ROM KK for instance It works well even with KNOX bootloader, no problem.
Thanks for everything! Tomorrow I gonna start with this. I never do anything with Samsung smartphones so this will be new experience for me thanks again

Maybe you already know this but it's important to know that if you flash custom things over your official 4.3 or 4.4.4 update, your warranty will be void. It's because of Knox bootloader. Please be aware of this.
simple answer
had the exact problem and the solution was:
Flash with Odin the stock 4.4.4 Germany firmware.
it is very easy...search the firmware on SAMMOBILE.COM for i9305 and put your phone in download mode (search goole how to) and flash with odin.
look for tutorials...there are many.
good luck

Yes, I know about that.
I was flashed this 4.4.4 rom (I9305XXUFNJ1_I9305XEOFNJ1_XEO) and it's better. Screen now is on about 3,5h (so it's +1,5h more than on a 4.3). I was think that it will be better on a brand new original samsung battery, but I think, girlfriend is happy now plus for that phone is running faster than on 4.3 rom.
On a custom rom that will be better? For example on a AMCHA ROM? Or maybe a little bit, but nothing special?

I'm not sure if it will be faster with custom ROM as I've never used pure Sammy Stock Firmware : I can't compare. I think there could be a little difference but nothing very important. But If your girlfriend is already happy now, why change it ?
Otherwise, if you like to have a lot of features and customization and if you have time to flash and test, yes you could try custom ROMs. I could recommand AMCHA because I use it and I know it very well, but, you can also test other ROMs and see how it goes.

I've been looking at the threads, but apparently every ICS official Samsung ROM is still dangerous, right?
I'm on CM9, but I find myself missing some of the advanced stylus functionality, and HW media acceleration is iffy, at best. I'd like to go back to an official ROM, but now GB feels sooo slow...
Rumours of 4.0.4 soon!
check my words, but speedmod or franco kernels should make it safe
I tried the Speedmod and Franco kernels, but both were more trouble than it was worth CM9 works perfectly well, I'm just missing several features of the official release.

Plus one.
Just updated to K3-6 myself. Ive used franco kernel before but found it too 'bleeding edge' for my tastes.
Speedmod ICS kernel is what you are looking for, safe stable and full tw support. Just be sure to do your full-wipe from within in GB beforehand to reduce the possibility of issues.

Being SpeedMod user since Samsung Galaxy S 1, 2 and up to Not's K3-6. The best around for safety and stability and battery life.
Stuck speedmod on my note just over a day ago to make it 'safe' and I've been really impressed. If you want ICS (and can risk superbrick) on the note I'd recommended it. Its even improved my battery life...
ok
i have rooted ics stock rom
what is the best way to install speedmod?

guys one information which i want to share with you
yesterday i put mail to CEO of samsung mobile and told every thing related to faulty ics firmware, kernel prob, emmc-brickbug prob and all information about the user who had bricked their device
today i got call from SSC the person to whom i was taking told me that there is nothing to worry about ics firmware and kernel does not contain any fault like this both sgs2 and note are highly up gradable set and to upgrade note you should have speed of 3.0 mbps if you upgrade it through kies or upgrade it from service center and if there is any prob found after update samsung technician are ready to help us
one thing more as everyone know that ics has more battery drain prob and gb does not so there is nothing to worry about and rooting the device is third party software and samsung does not provide any help if you root your device and got it bricked so be care full and enjoy upgrading
btw- upgrading is at your own risk if you do it manually
i think so~
i am using 4.04~ but when i use "GotBrickbug-v1.1.apk"
it's also

Hi.
So my Awesome man @tetakpatak helped me to fix my phone yesterday. Although it seemed hard it was quite easy. Too easy. That's where my question goes. I installed Froyo "stock" rom after my phone was "broken" and after that got a new kernel and installed CM.
Can I do this every time? I mean when I want to change Kernel or Rom I could just wipe phone, Install Froyo by Odin and later go with any ROM that there is in ROM section?
Or it doesn't work that way? Or I need to install older versions of roms and update them?
Lets say I want to install ParanoidAndroid or Darky instead of my CM now - I just wipe all data and cache and install.zip thru CWM?
What about Kernel?
Thanks in advance, have a nice day.

Great it works now, mate
In general, yes, after anything with custom ROMs goes wrong it is best one can do to reflash it with a stock ROM. It can actually be any stock ROM, I just adviced to do it with Froyo as I've checked short ago that all download links are still "alive".... and.... in my opinion Froyo is somehow really good ground to be updated to the CM.
So it would be wise to save all the files and software you used, as they worked well for your phone
No problem flashing and trying other ROMs. Always read well the opening post of the threads and pay attention what is important to do. Always save your data externally (and backup your IMEI/efs with terminal emulator app) and wipe all before changing ROM. If anything goes wrong by overwriting your custom ROM, flash stock ROM again and upgrade from there
My last words.... to all users of an amazing, old, good SGS GT-i9000: please consider to make a little donation to the developer pawitp. That amazing developer keeps this phone still alive. Nearly all kernels and ROMs you find on the forum wouldn't exist if pawitp wasn't there. He now works on stabilizing the CM10.2 / Android 4.3 for our beloved i9000 somewhere in Thailand, and he doesn't even own this phone!

Do you need to wipe data in order to install a new kernel? I've never tried it before and would rather not mess it up.

1. Download the ROM.
2. Copy the file to your internal or external SD Card
3. Reboot into recovery and perform a nandroid backup (or your backup of choice)

I installed it on my Note 4 and I can say that it feels more stable now.
No more "contacts has stopped", camera preview (right after taking a picture) is fast, no more waiting.
Do not disturb and the old "sound profiles" are back.
Overall the device seems more responsive.
Installed over BOB4 without data wipe, only Cache wipe from recovery.

If i flash over stock rooted lollipop i maintain root?
Looks amazing, bloat free.
First of all, we say that the software is now marked N910CXXU1BOC3 and continue to Android 5.0.1 Lollipop. Changes are few, but the most important is the return of the "Mute", which somehow disappeared in Lollipop. I also noticed that the interrupt function is now called Do Not Disturb and is used to mute all calls, notifications and alarms outside the defined exceptions. Certainly improved liquidity and contacts startup speed, switch between the dialer and contacts or gallery, which now opens much faster. I can also confirm that other users who also noticed that finally Lollipopie run applications that previously throwing error. I also have the impression that the light beam has undergone a facelift notifications. You do not have this feeling that changed the brightness icon on the toolbar? The battery is difficult to say anything, but I sincerely hope that there is no longer a delay after the call is answered, and finally the GPS to work properly (does not sever the connection).
After this update finally the lag when pressing the multitasking button is gone!

Guys, I know this is maybe little off topic. But I think I can get your opinion on this. I have a problem while calling, I have a little call volume so I have to set call volume at highest volume, but when I do that, my speaker does absolutely terrible cracking sounds and during call I can literally hear that annoying buzzing noise like the wind or how to describe that...it is really annoying while talking to someone. It does that even while ringing and waiting for someone to pick up. It is not my provider fault I tried in another phone (and the signal is full) I am on stock 4.4.4, network is set on Auto (3g/2g) because when it was on auto (4g/3g/2g) my battery went down in minutes....do you have any idea? Thank you...
I consider this firmware the fastest on any Samsung phone. I am more than happy that a Samsung can be fluid like a HTC.

So perhaps something came up on one or more of the test devices not previously seen, it happens.
If that is the case, I personally prefer the that they pull it to fix the issue before it makes it out too thousands of users phones. And suspending rollout makes more business sense than causing customers problems, perhaps even severe problems. :good:

Is there any change on the root impossibility without flashing rooted rom? I've been away from the game forever. Sorry
We won't know until it is released. This update hasn't been released yet. Most likely the typical root method work (cf atuo root and towel root) supersu is already up to date for lollipop OS so if you are rooted just wait till someone makes the stock rom a flashable zip or if you are stock just use any method to root. Remember to back up internal storage as unlocking the bootloader wipes everything.

Considering every other Samsung phone on Lollipop, including the S6, has been rooted the same way as KitKat (CF Auto Root or flash SuperSU.zip in recovery), I think we'll be fine. "Unlocking the bootloader wipes everything"? There are so many things wrong with that statement. Odining a stock tar is the only thing that wipes internal storage (and not all of them do). There is no unlocking of the bootloader on Samsung phones. You flash a custom recovery or if using CF Auto Root it flashes the su binary to system/bin... no wiping on either.
