Hi there,
I wanted to check if there is any solution to the ****ty battery life the S5 have. I don't know why Samsung talks **** about iPhone if they can't have a good battery life without the U saving mode.
I've tried everything even turned GPS off. Disabled Samsung remote location. Please help.
I used to achieve 14 hours on my nexus 5... Yes the N5, come on!
That's rough my battery usually lasts me 14 hours ish

How many % the gpsd task shows in yours? Also is it the G900H?
Mine one lasts for 1 complete day with 4g on most of the time.. Screen time is around 4 to 5 hours
If you're coming here to find a solution then use a program to diagnose the issue like wakelock detector or better battery stats. This post lacks information and does not allow us to help you.
you can try to download wake lock detector or better battery stats from the play store to monitor your battery usage

Your problem might be due to any of these 2 reasons
1 app that uses the network is misbehaving
If this is the case than Uninstalling the misbehaving app.
2 the radio control interface
Sometimes the signal from Tower is not that good in your area so setting the network settings to AUTO mode, the phone keeps switching between GSM, WCDMA AND LTE. try setting your phone to GSM ONLY or WCDMA ONLY. it will most probably solve the issue.
Hahaha. I can't believe to see this post. That's the problem dude. I've 5-6 sot on TW with usage all day long, data all the time. And I got 5 sot on cm. Believe me as heavy user here ?

Ok I will use the wake lock app today the whole day. At the end of the day will post the results. Also I will make the suggested changes to the network to see if it helps. Thanks. Will post the results in 10-12 hours.

Stock samsung, no root. I flashed the factory image to see if that helped. But no. I cannot use battery tracker apps cause no root :/
I think I will go for a LG G3, not even the SGS4 running stock samsung firmware drained the battery this much.

Model: SM-G900H (Sucks not to have the snapdragon)
ROM: KOT49H.G900HXXU1ANG3
Any Recent Changes: No, using the same apps since Nexus 5. I had Nexus 5 then a Note 3 then an S3 mini then a Note then a Nexus 4 then an S4, running the same apps no issue with this.
How often do you use device: I am at work, so I use mostly for whatsapp, and at lunch to check the social networks.
I have great signal from the network, and I always use my phones with everything on except the bluetooth, I have never had this issue. I left the phone one day on stand by, and it only held the battery for 11hours, with 20minutes of on screen use. And the GPSD task was the only one that was using the battery.
What I've done so far:
I turned samsung remote location off
Factory reset
Removed google location services
Disabled all the apps that uses location like twitter or facebook
Turned the GPS off
Root the device and deleted all samsung apps (the ones that can be unisntalled)
Use the GPS on Low battery usage
Disabled the pedometer
Nothing seems to work.
I am not a really Samsung fan, but I was giving a try to the S5 because the water resistant thing, but if my S3 mini can hold up more battery than this device, for me its a crap. More if they make a lot of fun of apple iphone, and the battery life of the S5 is WORST!

Didn't knew we could change to ART in the S5! Already rebooting to ART, I hope this give me at least 14 hours of battery life! :good: Thanks.
I'll let you know what happened.
I can tell the results tomorrow night when I get home after work to check if the battery life is awesome now.
Definitely some app misbehaving there. I never switch anything of - sync, wifi, GPS always on. On average 6-7 hours screen time. If doing low cpu tasks like reading a book I have got to 12 hours screen.
Worth doing a root and see what the problem is.
Okey! Well i tested the ART for two days now and got no problems so far.
Got WiFi, Bluetooth, Sync, 3G and Location on.
I hope the ART works for you, let me know.

I doubt that an unstable runtime will make your battery better. Check my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55250809&postcount=1309

If you are only going to use it on wifi, try putting the phone into Airplane mode, then enabling the wifi again. If this doesnt work, let me know and I shall see what I can come up with.

A. Root
B. a purchase of $1.50 USD

Guide to Hide Airplane Icon
First off, do a backup just to be sure. Also, just as a precision, I always say, "I am not responsible for bricked or damages devices."
1. Download ROM TOOLBOX from the Play Store
2. Open ROM TOOLBOX
3. Scroll over to the right and find "Interface"
4. Click on "Statusbar Icons"
5. Click on "Airplane"
6. Click on "Transparent"
7. Purchase just the license that allows you to use Status Bar mods, labeled "Unlock statusbar icons"
8. Install the new icon as shown below:

Yes that one but does not work like greenify. Greenify said it would hibernate the apps but in reality it would still let them run in background. Still looking for something that works how it says. Plus greenify showed me no real battery improvement

so you are no longer using greenify? It's so popular and thousands swear by it, i used to not use it but i got blasted on a thread for not using it and making complaints on battery life which is what got me to use it.
I already have leandroid (turns off cellular connections after 30 minutes (or whatever time you want) and turns it back on when screen is unlocked, i'm gonna download this application , now should i beware of stopping certain apps or is it a freefor all like greenify?
With greenify if i open facebook, hibernate all apps, facebook closes, so how is it still open (curious)

well I'm using leandroid, greenify, wakelock detector, and betterbattery plus, on Rapture. stock kernel. i got 46hrs standby time and 6.5 hrs screen on time.
I tested out several other roms and haven't reached this same stats like i did on rapture.
I am staying away from other kernels for a while
So I left my phone at around 90% yesterday night with both WiFi and data turned off with no apps running it background and when today I woke up all my battery was drained. I did some research and people suggested to delete google play cache etc which I did. I am still wondering about the real culprit and the reason behind this.View attachment 4582529

You have the same problem that I had. (Not bad as yours...). As you can see, all the core clocks are at maximum speed, draining battery. The solution is to change the 'scaling governor' from 'interactive' to 'ondemand'... But to do so you need to unlock bootloader and root the device. I did this last night and my battery is fine now.
You could also delete the cache+data from google play services, and reboot your phone (turn wifi off!). You will not have the problem anymore (but if you switch the Wifi back 'ON' it will come back after a while).
See more abou this problem in the thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a2/help/frequency-sd660-stuck-maximum-t3832366

The normal cpu in iddle looks like the SS i've attached... It should increase clock when you're actually doing stuff, but, if the phone is iddle it should go back to the 'lowest' setting, which is what is currently in my SS.
And it will probably void warrenty, but I'm not sure... Good luck!
I am really surprised we are facing this issue even after having Android One. Wish I had waited and gone for Poco.

Go in the 'CPU' tab and change the 'scaling governor' from 'interactor' to 'ondemand' (you need to apply this in two itens, each item control 4 cores - its under the section "Big Governor" and "LITTLE governors") then reboot device.
Use cpu-z to confirm if the value was indeed changed.
Quick solution is to reboot. Fixes the issue but it gets triggered again! Submit a ticket on the feedback app.. a lot of people are affected by the CPU maxing out

Xiaomi doesn't even reply to people or keep them updated like OnePlus does about the current issues and ETA of OTA.
A2 is like 230$ and poco is over 400 on gearbest for example. OnePlus yes sure they reply but they are lying all the time.

this is Xiaomi world, good hardware, good price & lot of bugs.
I'm curious as why in CPU-Z, my processor is labeled as SD636 2.21ghz but the model is 660.
As for the cpu frequency, mine was like that until I stopped using the fingerprint and switched to trusted face.
It didn't get stuck ever since.

All it did for me when I tested it out was create MASSIVE battery drain. Usually I can go overnight and lose less than 1% per hour. With this, I went from 100% to 60% in about 8 hours overnight. For some reason, using these caused UWBapplication to run in the background constantly, which caused massive battery drain. Aside from that, the apps didn't provide any useful functionality, so it was pretty much useless.
