[Q] Please help. Lockscreen swiping problem. - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

You guys know Kitkat version has this shiny flaring effect when you swipe to unlock, right? On my machine, this effect suddenly disappeared... I didn't do anything. Theme wasn't changed whatsoever.
Anyone has the same experience??
Help!

[HEEEELP!] Phone stuck at boot screen after installing theme

I have darkyy's ROM v9.2.
So I installed this theme:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11168640
And now my phone is stuck at the first boot screen.
Of course I made a nand backup, and I restored. Same thing, nothing changed.
I'm not worried about my data, I have backups for everything. I just don't want to wipe and restore everything.
Is there anyway to JUST fix the booting?
this happened to me first time i flashed steel blue theme.
all i did was just pull the battery out and power it back on. simple really. might work for you.
I took the batttery out like a thousand times.
can you get recovery mode ?? just try flashing the theme again. if that fails. try flashing back to the theme you had before.
Download and recovery are working. The problem was that the phone couldn't get past the first boot screen.
I did install darkyy's again and thank god it didn't remove any data.
But I'm still wondering if it was possible to fix the problem without installing the whole ROM?
did you try flashing another theme you didnt quite specify ??
if that dont work looks like you will have to flash the rom again
I'm also have this problem! what could the cause of the problem ? application ?

It's the "framework.res" file wich is messed up. There is only one way out of this situation. Reflash with ODIN.

But why it's messed up? by an app ? i noticed that when i apply a theme just before restoring my apps the theme pass and is installed, after a restore, always failed ! can an app block the installation of a theme ?

It usually happens if you make changes on the theme. For example on the battery icon or the lock screen. So the key is not change anything on your own if you want a custom theme and be sure that the rom you have is Deodexed. I think Zip-aligned also can make troubles. It's important that both rom and theme work together.

I don't get it.
You can try to push these to system/app and system/framework and see?
Maybe my flashable zip has a problem.
I'm still learning here, you know.
I'll try tomorrow.
2 questions before :
- i've got systemUI.odex, SemcGenericUxpRes.odex; i delete them ?
- which zip i use, the first one at the beginning of the topic, or the second one ?
(odex and deodex are not my cup of tea ^^ )
Both zips are the same now.
I deleted my SystemUI.odex but didn't delete the SemcGenericUxpRes.odex. I don't think it matters.
You can try. Make backup.
Any Dev out there can help look into it, will be great.
If any of you interested in my themed one, you can try this out.
http://db.tt/75zhJ5oM
So....
All operations are done by copy/paste via Es Explorer
1- remove SemcGenericUxpRes.odex and then copy of framework-res.apk and SemcGenericUxpRes.apk
2- phone automaticaly reboots
3- remove SystemUI.odex and then copy SystemUI.apk
4- FC of wiffi access point, impossible to reboot normally, the only solution was to remove battery.
5- reboot of phone, everything seems to work.
See in attached different screenshots.
First one, original screen without changes
Second one, after step 2. Icon in left touch is bigger than the other ones, icon in right touch is not centered.
Third one, after step 5. Icon in right touch is not centered, and background is zoomed.
And for me, orange stuffs and modified icons, no thanks.
I prefer stock Sony layout.

u can open the systemui.apk by .7z and find the images of "back"icon in the folder res/drawble-xhdpi
edit it by ps or fireworks to make it fit
and save it as a .png ,keep it transparent
then replace the original back icon(dont forget that there is a icon for land, it should be smallen too)
the ime icon is bigger as well so u might make it samll too
it should work coz thats what ive done:laugh:

I'm trying to do this mod myself. If ever I get the hang of it, I'll post a guide.
OP, did you do the one by editing the resources.arsc on vbindiff? If it is, what's the best way to see the hex difference? I'm stuck whole day the other day trying this mod as well but I cannot find the hex value that I needed to edit. Any technique on how to spot it quickly? Thanks in advance.

Copy/push it directly to /system and set permissions as 0644 /rw-r-r. Make sure the old one gets overwritten or deleted. Reboot into recovery and wipe dalvik cache and cache. That should install that Contact.apk...can't comment if it'll fix your problems.

So you use SafeStrap? Locked bootloader?
Either way, just copy/paste it with a root file manager and set the permissions right.
SS has a wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache options. Even if you plan on staying stock, unlocking your bootloader and using CWM makes fixing problems much easier. I imagine in the coming months the amount of users with SS experience will be next to none. Out of all of us who answer questions and help out regularly, I have the least amount of SS experience....but only because I was late to the AHD scene, I'm just glad I made it in time to watch all the development progress from completely locked down to tons of development.

I don't know what SafeStrap is so I probably didn't use it. I'm not sure about the status of the bootloader.
How would I unlock the bootloader if it's locked?
Seems I've completely mucked things up.
The contact feature now seems to work, but I've lost the stock messaging app, additionally the phone doesn't work correctly. When I attempt to make a call the dialer opens the Skype app. My phone no longer connects to my carrier's network.

What are you on? He needs to reflash the rom as he changed the fonts and some may be missing, happens to loads of people, no need for a factory reset, just restore the fonts folder or reflash the rom, if you don't have an unlocked bootloader, bite the bullet, unlock ya bootloader and come over to AOSP in which i would recommend a 4.2.2 ROM.. or do the long winded way of flashing the stock Rom, your all giving some real extreme methods, it doesn't have to be this complicated..
