Open Quickpic from camera app - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
I just installed quick pic and want to replace sonys album app with it. The problem is that I can't open it from the camera, is there any workaround for that? I deinstalled the album app from sony and now the only thing I can do is leaving the cam app after taking a pic and go into quick pic manually to see the picture I took, which is very unhandy ...
Any suggestions?
Thx
Thorsten

I doubt it's possible on Stock ROM. I could change the default album app in older Sony Phones not in the newer ones though.

[APP] [Gallery] Quick Pic Gallery

If you are wanting a gallery app that is smooth as homemade vanilla ice cream and as fast as a Shelby Cobra, give this one a shot. Free @ the app market. You won't be disappointed!
It mops the floor with the stock Android gallery or any other gallery that I have tried.

I've been using Quickpic on my DX for some time now. It is my go to image app. Loads so much quicker than gallery. Good call!

Just do a search on the market for Quick Pic. You'll find it. The link you supplied takes me to a redirect back tomy isp's search page @ Roadrunner.com

I've been using this on my g tablet as well. The stock gallery just doesn't scan my images (tnt lite 314)
Awesome

Just found this today. Much faster than the stock gallery, and for some reason lately my stock gallery doesn't load all my images :/
I have one question though, can we install this and delete the stock gallery? Will that interfere with anything? Cuz I don't use the stock camera or gallery. Camera360 and QuickPic are what i'm using for my photos.
camera360 (found on Amazon, not Android market) and QuickPic are both nice finds, thanks!
Pretty darn quick. I like it! Thanks for posting.
Anyone knows if you can stream pics from your CIFS/NTFS shared folder on your home server?
I've been using Quick Pic on my phone for a while now. And it's just as great on the tablet.
Hi, can QuickPic totally replace the Gallery?
I don't understand how more people are not frustrated by the fact that picture can't be renamed after taking a shot..?
I would like to be able to rename the pictures as soon sa I take them, and from stock camera I can see the picture taken, but I can't rename it. Can QuickPic be accessed from camera (review of pic - right bottom corner)?
Thanks, Cheers,
Nenad

I do know that after installing QuickPic, I went into File Explorer and navigated to my DCIM folder where my pics are stored and clicked on a .jpg file, then the box popped up asking me which app I wanted to open the file in, Gallery or QuickPic. I set the check mark to "Always use this selection" and then tapped on QuickPic and made it the default .jpg viewer. You will need to do this for each graphics format type; .png, .tif, etc.
I do not know about the camera preview because I am running CM7 at the moment on my tablet. Anyone whom has used CM7 knows the downfall of the camera quality and I try to steer clear of even using the camera with this rom.
You can do as I have stated above, setting the file associations, and see what your camera app uses for the preview when you take a pic with your tablet. Then report back to us and let us know if this, in fact, does actually replace the default preview app for photos from the camera app.
[EDIT] I have just confirmed that if you install QuickPic, when you take a shot with your camera app and tap on the preview selection, it does give you the option of setting QuickPic as the default preview app from the camera.
Nope.
I made a QuickPic a default app to preview Jpegs (and other formats), but the problem is stil there:
From Camera app, when I hit a "image viewer" button, it opens a Galery-like 1 picture screen (on back, the Camera app is shown for taking more pictures).
Is there a way to tweak Android to use QuickPic instead (like "Registry" in Win?)
Cheers
Loving this app
Great app, I've been using it for a while. Was really happy when I found it, the stock Gallery appy is garbage compared to this app.
The pics and icons load right away, instead of sitting there waiting for no reason.

I was using Serendipity 6.3 and now Darky 10.1 rom, and I never got the option to choose - it always shows the preview in stock gallery... Can I remove the it (the stock gallery)?
BTW - I just left a "review" at "App Brain":
The best gallery app (IMHO)! Let me put out the facts others didn't: I just love the "rename" option - one can take a look at the picture, and directly rename it if you want (when the picture is in full screen. It would be nice though if one could do the same from a thumbnail preview - with a long press menu - the option lacks there...). One more minor issue makes me have another picture viewer installed: - if you open a hidden (.name) picture from a folder that has more then one hidden pics, it will show this one, but will not show any oteher by sliding, as would for non-hidden pics. It would be nice to have an option "show/ hidden files", and if the option is on, it would show all the hidden pics, and if it is off, it would show none. If this issue was not present, I would have had just QuickPic installed of all the pic viewers! Once again - thanks for the best gallery app - please make it even better!
Anyone having issues with date sorting? Looking at the details of each photo, the date is right but QuickPic seems to put them in a different order

[Q] Changing default gallery app on Camera

Hello, is it possible to change the default gallery app the camera app uses?
I remember before I could click the thumbnail while in the camera app and get taken to another app (e.g. QuickPic).
But ever since Jelly Bean, it automatically takes me to the stock Gallery app which I find is a bit more sluggish than QuickPic.
Thanks in advance!
Look maybe you install quick pic and make it as the default app for viewing pics. I'm not sure if it'd help but you can try :|

app to replace album

hi all
i been looking for an app to replace the album app on the Sony Z1 so far i have found F-Stop Media Gallery i have tried it out and it seems pritty good but was wondering if anyone has come across something better maybe
thanks
I also don't like the stock gallery so I switched to https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.moblynx.galleryics&hl=en, is very good but the only problem is they have Ads. Gallery KK is an update of Gallery ICS which was without Ads, now they renamed Gallery ICS to Gallery ICS (Classic Version) so you can try both of them. I have to try them too, if Gallery ICS (Classic Version) if with no Ads I will stick with that one.

Yes, Quickpic is good, just don't have the Widget.
brilliant thanks alot
I use quickpic, is fantastic
How about something with Privacy lock...like the one with FstopMedia Gallery.
Something with names other than Gallery Lock...Lock etc etc
I mean something that doesnt suggest its got some sort of Locking thing from the name itself...lol
need a gallery veiwer with inbuilt Privacy...not another third party app.
hanks
use Quickpic. its better than album.

Galaxy note 8 ( N950F ) camera app

Hi guys.
I have a problem with note 8 camera app.
in the note 8 camera app, can access to all images and videos in gallery.
in other brands, camera app just can access to images and videos that took by phone camera.
anyone can solve this problem?
or any report to samsung development team?
I'd like a solution to this too
it doesn't make sense for it to show pictures from other folders
You are right, it is annoying
It's so annoying to see what's app and telegram images in there . I agree.

Why not just go to albums and then the camera folder for that?
This seems like a feature, not a bug.

what OP meant was when you're using the camera
the preview circle at the bottom right of the camera app
it does not display pictures taken only from camera app but from every other folder as well
which is not appropriate as pictures coming from whatsapp may sometimes not be suitable while sharing with your friends and they accidentally swiped an extra swipe and the camera app revealed the devil trapped inside you for god knows why you have such/receiving such photos

Are you rooted? Just delete Album app. If you want to keep it, but not make it default, try Settings > Apps > default apps. I don't know if there's a photo viewer option, but maybe...
