LED Control
• So what does it do?
Lets the user select kernel specific "charging triggers" for the device's LED which will make it light up when plugged in depending on the specific "charging triggers"
• Why this app?
Well all of these triggers can be set from the command line, but I found it to be very cumbersome and tedious. Motivated by my laziness, I created this app. Although it was intended for the Moto G, I discovered that it would also work on Moto X, E and Nexus 6 too, theoretically on any device which has a "charging" LED.
• Features:
Clean and simple UI (I have tried my best to make it Material Design compliant)
Brightness Slider: Control your 'charging' LED's brightness while charging, if your device supports it. Currently works only on Moto X and Nexus 6.
Set On Boot [PRO only] : Automatically sets the last chosen trigger on a reboot, since the values are reset each time the kernel restarts. Available in Pro version only.
Available triggers: (You may not see all in your device)
While Charging
While Charging through Adapter
Battery Full
While Charging or Battery Full
While Charging (Blnking) or Battery Full
While connected to USB
When Display is on
On Internal Storage I/O Activity
On External Storage I/O Activity
When flashlight (rear LED) is on NEW
When camera flash (rear LED) is on NEW
When Bluetooth is enabled NEW
Always on NEW
* ROOT ACCESS IS REQUIRED *• Instructions:
Grant Root access on first run
Enable the Master Switch
Select a trigger and optionally choose brightness.
Plug in your charger and see the magic
There are different triggers for different devices, so try experimenting
• Screenshots: (from Pro Version) (Screenshots are outdated; will update soon)
NOTE:
This will 'enable' the hidden LED on your Moto X/Nexus 6. This app cannot set it to be used for notifications; it can only use it as a charging indicator.
The Brightness slider will not work on devices where there's a kernel limitation on setting the brightness- specifically the Moto G and Moto E.
Moto G and Moto X in this whole post refer to 2013 models only, I have not tested on 2014 models.
The app is tested and confirmed working on Nexus 6, Moto G, E, X and Droid Ultra/MAXX. However, it may also work on a Motorola phone other than the above, so give it a try, can't hurt

P.S: Since I'm utterly new to Android/Java programming this app took me several hours spanned over several weeks to build. But it was an awesome experience and I had a heck of a time coding it. :good:
I look forward to making more apps in 2015.
• Reporting Compatibility: If this app works on your device, and its not among the ones mentioned above, please reply to this thread with your device's details or send me a PM.
• Source: This app is open source too! Grab it on Github here. Feel free to take a look and suggest fixes to imperfections, if any.
• WARNING
This app has the potential of blocking your notification LED if you use a Moto G/ Moto E (a separate LED blinks just beside the dedicated charging LED but you might not notice it).
Please be aware that I (KDB223), nor XDA nor anyone but you yourself are responsible for the consequences of you missing an important notification due to this app.

Nice! Keep up the good work sir.

Sweet! Thanks homie

This app works great so far on my Nexus 6. I have a suggestion. Can you change the colour of the LED to red while it's charging, and then turn to green when it's fully charged? It's just like the charger on macbook air, which lets you know the battery status just by looking at the LED.

Oh nice. Will try it out and let you know!
EDIT: I'm not able to get the red LED working while the phone is charging. It just shows the green one.
On a positive note, TricksterMOD is allowing the LED to blink while charging! Although it's just green for now.

I have these settings enabled. If I apply these settings, I don't get any LED notifications. If I select battery charging option in the charging column, the green LED works.
Thanks by the way for your help!

Released v1.2:
Added support for more devices! Should now work on many rooted Motorola phones (including 'Droids')! Tested on Droid Ultra/MAXX
Added an option to disable notification on boot
Increased coding efficiency
Many minor bugfixes

Light Flow is an awesome app, but I believe its very cumbersome to get it working properly with the Nexus 6 and Motorola devices in general. LED Control, on the other hand was made specifically for Motorola devices, so you should have no problems

Looks like this didn't work yet on 5.1, no options to choose from

Will buy if pro works on 5.1. I hate light flow right now

@KDB223
Pro app is shot can we get a fix?

I'm on 5.1 stock rom, with the last franco kernel, the pro app is not working, like at all

[App] Spark Mod Manager - Beta 1 [5/9/2011]

A quick post here for those looking for an app like this, please note there will be little support from me here, XDA is no longer as higher priority on my list so things may take a bit longer to get to. For faster support come find me at http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?4526 and I will be happy to help out. Another way of looking at this is mostly community support only here.

Spark Mod Manager - Beta 1
About
Spark Mod Manager is a front end app for Ezekeel's kernel mods now found in many popular Nexus S kernels. These are usually turned off by default (in a init.d script set my the developer), and now you can easily turn them on or off until you reboot!
Usage
Open the app, check what features you wish to use (Screen Dimmer is old now, probably don't use it if you have Touch Wake enabled, they are aimed at the same thing), then hit apply. Give the app SU permissions and you should be set!
Notes
Your kernel must support these mods! There is currently no error checking (it's a beta, done on a Sunday arvo actually) so it could fail on you!
The timeout delay for these mods will vary from kernel to kernel. On my device, I have set it to custom values, but yours may differ. A future addition in the final version is to be able to change these within the app using sliders.
Download
Download the app below (hosted on Github for ease at my end).
Spark-Beta1.apk
Spark is also open source (licensed under the Open Source License 3.0), you can find all the sources here: https://github.com/jonathongrigg/SparkModManager
You will also need Action Bar Sherlock as a library project in Eclipse to get it to work (http://actionbarsherlock.com/)
Nice, finally a no brainer solution to such wicked mods. Cheers mate, will give it a shot.
Thanks, just what ive been looking for

Little bit of support here, just thought I'd check and see what happened. What it could be is that
a) your kernel doesn't support the functions (could use old versions)
b) the time out for touch wake is set really long
c) the time out for touch wake is set too short (aka 0)
d) touch wake and screen dimmer are both enabled (touch wake is newer and a better implementation)
You may also not know how touch wake works exactly (it took me a while). I thought it was independent to the system screen time out value (the one in settings, usually a minute long), but its not. What actually happens is after this value has automatically turned off the screen (say 1 minute later, that's the setting on my phone) then touch wake kicks in, allowing you to wake the phone up by touching the screen or keys below, for usually a period of 45 seconds. I hope that helps you a bit.
And thanks for the nice words guys, please try and help each other out here, I will only pop by every now and then.
Sent from my Nexus S
Ahahaha ok guys. I think that the mod work with button swich off also, instead it work with a wait of 45 seconds
Just thought I'd show everyone here what I have planned for the next version (currently working on it). It had a new UI and supports setting the time out of each function.

notification led
I have Motorola droid maxx (xt1080) device running android 4.4.4. I purchased this second hand device few days ago in karachi. Its led notification is not working. Some sites says that this set does not have led notification led and some sites say that it do have a notification light. I have gone through the manual of this phone and found that this phone does have a notification led that works in low battery.
Does after rooting this device and installing the above program will switch the notification light on? And is there any way to root android 4.4.4 version?
Thanks
The app does what it is intended to do. but the master switch stays enabled even after removing the app. so you have to disable the switch before removing app if you don't want it on.

Many users are complaining this on the official Chinese Huawei forum as well. https://club.huawei.com/search.php?mod=forum&searchid=83908992&searchsubmit=yes Seems like Huawei is ditching this feature on P30 Pro

No they won't, it's a Noweiway move to get users to buy kirin 990 Mate 30 pro. Even the old Samsung S7 from three years ago had a better more functional AOD than a 2018 Huawei phone. Shame on them.

I agree. Poor for a flagship device.
From what I read by them on their forums when someone asked about this NOT being seen on Emui 10 P30 Pro. They said its only on the NEW Mate 30. And they are happy to hear our requests for new features blah blah blah in coming updates. So.. yeah.. not coming..unless they change it
It's possible that they decided not to roll out this feature for the P30 Pro even though their promotional images show the P30 Pro running their new AOD. Personally I just ended up building my own custom AOD with third-party apps. Probably more customisable than the official option too.
Glad I don't use AOD. Very weak AOD for a 2018 flagship, when other manufacturers had better useful AODs back in 2015.

Welcome to 2016 Huawei. Yet, seeing it would be believing it in 2020 as nearly all their official comments and statements in recent times has never materialized. Lame excuse that only kirin 990 can support it.

I used Always on Edge to build a custom AOD setup. I set it up with a basic clock/date widget that displays a pulsing light at the top (similar to a notification LED) and app icons below the clock. It's also got a notification summary below that will display the app and notification title, but not the actual notification message content. Here's how it looks:
Originally the app is supposed to flash the edge of the phone screen for notifications but there's the option to replace the edge lighting with a more subtle LED effect. You can also customise the widget layout, size, and content (such as adding music playback controls that only display when music is playing). You can also set which apps are whitelisted or blacklisted from showing up in the notifications list as well as timing of the AOD. Instead of making it constantly display, I set it to only show up when notifications come in or when the device is charging. The app is free with the full feature set but you have to watch an ad every time a setting is changed. You can remove this with an in-app purchase though.
On there web site forums someone asked about this for the P30 Pro. They said.. it was not for the P30 pro.

I guess but it never did this before
You should utilize the apps that help find what's going on.
I always keep gsam battery monitor pro.
But for some more info betterbatterystays is a good way to start.
If you're not getting good battery then something is up. Probably a rouge app running in the background.
I'll download that app and check my ram.
What rom are you on/rooted/models installed.
More information you provide the faster you'll get help.
I'm personally on A11 crDroid v7.13
And I get on average 1 hour SOT/10% battery.
I do usually only run the device from 30-80%
I try to stay between this in hopes to preserve battery. Considering the ridiculous price Google got out of us.
My back camera lens is cracked and I'm honestly considering a pixel 4a.. I don't 5g anyway.
Edit: so here is where I'm at ATM
@andybones I did state at the bottom of my first post that I'm on Stock A12 and Cleanslate Kernel but I didn't mention that I am currently rooted and I have AccA module installed and set to charge to 80% I have the GoogleDialerMod module, Universal Safety Net Fix module, BusyBox module and More Live Pixel Wallpapers by Typhus_ I've used the paid version of those apps that you mentioned but I usually don't find anything all though I haven't since this started.

How well does that zz naptime app work and I know people always ask what features are available on crDroid but what I was wondering is what is missing from crDroid that stock android offers?

I believe it does. I have it set to doze immediately. and my texts don't suffer from coming in. and things like gmail work fine as long as turning off battery optimization.
so for me it's beneficial.
It's probably close to what Proton ROM is missing:
here is text from protons site to help me out:
"Not all Pixel-exclusive features are supported due to their proprietary nature. The following features are supported (depending on your device generation, like on the stock OS):
Active Edge - not on Pixel 5
Adaptive connectivity - yes
Adaptive Sound - yes with magisk module
App suggestions - yes
Assistant quick phrases - not sure but should
Auto-rotate face detection - maybe
Call screening - yes
Extreme Battery Saver - yes
Flip to Shhh - yes
Google Discover feed - yes
Increased touch sensitivity - yes
Live Caption - yes
Live Translate - yes
Magic Eraser - not sure, but may not have this, but does A11 have it?
Now Playing - yes
Screen attention - yes
Screen-off “Hey Google” - I assume yes, but don't use it
The following features are not supported:
“At a Glance” on lock screen - no
“Rules” automation - pretty certin no
Adaptive charging - crdroid has smart charginging in crdroid tweaks, but may be missing adaptive charging
Battery Share -has "power share" quick settings tile
Detailed battery usage history slots -seems to have this
Game Dashboard -crdroid twekas has a gaming mode in crdroid tweaks
Motion Sense - not sure what this is
Pixel Stand integration - maybe missing this
Quick Tap (this may be missing, but Tap Tap is probably better anyway)
Recents text selection" (has this since it comes stock with Pixel launcher with the gapps)
TL: DR -- really just:
“At a Glance” on lock screen
“Rules” automation
Adaptive charging
Pixel Stand integration

Themes / Apps / Mods [App] Energy Ring - Battery/Cam/Mic/GPS (access) indicators for OnePlus 10 Pro!

Download now from Google Play Store! And if you like, please leave a rating.
This is the original battery indicator around punch hole cameras, Energy Ring.
With the latest update, Energy Ring can glow up when any App/System accesses camera / microphone / GPS, this is courtesy of Access Dots App integration.
Energy Ring + Access Dots = Access Rings!
Energy Ring is custom calibrated for every new device released with a punch-hole camera. If you have a device with punch hole camera, reach out via email to get support added!

Adds a configurable Energy Ring around the camera lens indicating current Battery level. Dive into the various configuration options, not only you can quickly glance and get the battery info but, Energy Ring adds an accent to your phone's camera lens.
Got a full charge? The Ring will be a 360 degree wrap around the front camera lens.
Battery depleting? So will the arc of Energy Ring.
Out of the box features:-
✓ Energy Ring can be configured from a width of 1 pixel to a donut thick ring
✓ Energy Ring puts almost 0% load on CPU, as it wakes up only to reflect any change in battery level
✓ Energy Ring's direction can be configured as clockwise/bidirectional/anti-clockwise
✓ Energy Ring can hide on fullscreen content (apps, videos, images, games etc)
✓ Energy Ring can be configured to change colors automatically depending on the live battery level
✓ Energy Ring could have a mono color/multiple color segments/gradient (pro)
✓ You can literally assign any color in the world for your favorite configuration
✓ Energy Ring has a number of cool animations whenever a power source is plugged into your device
The App in action on a Galaxy Z Flip, Fold 3, Pixel 5a: (Looking for photos of your device, please attach them!)
All that is cool! But what about Energy Ring consuming Battery?!
This is one of the most exciting question for me to answer. Energy Ring more than anything understands that you need to utilize your battery efficiently (after all, that's why you installed the App, right? .) Energy Ring sits on the screen silently putting almost 0% load on CPU, if battery level changes, Android wakes up Energy Ring. Once awake, Energy Ring quickly updates itself and goes back to sleep. And to be that extra efficient, the Ring goes on deep sleep when you turn off the screen, meaning it doesn't even read changes in battery level when the screen is off.
Accessibility Service Requirement:
Android requires Energy Ring to run as an Accessibility Service, to be able to display on Lock Screen. It does not read/monitor any data, whatsoever. This is especially useful for people who have disability to read numbers and work better with visual data.
Download now from Google Play Store! And if you like, please leave a rating.
Calibration Credit: Thanks @spevil07 for helping to calibrate Energy Ring for OnePlus 10 Pro!
Doesn't work on my rooted oneplus 10 pro global.
Is it a custom ROM? If not, please let me know your device identifier, Install this App, go to 'Device' Tab and let me know what's written under the 'Device' section!
Great to see you here! Kudos

It's working in stock rom.nice work thanked.
I used this on the 8 pro. Didn't work work on my 10 pro so switched to the energy bar rather then ring.

Glad you're all enjoying the App so far!
Adding notifications would go against the philosophy of Energy Ring - display battery consumption and not consume it!
I did plan to make a separate App for that but, I think there are enough alternatives out there?

The only known device model idenitfier I am aware of is OP516F1, if there are more, do let me know.
If you are on the same model, if it still doesn't work, please ensure that you have Internet access to Energy Ring for one time configuration!
It worked on my Oneplus 9 pro running A12 and rooted but not now on 10 pro.

As I said I used it on the 8 pro, on opening the app to set up. It suggests using the energy bar, I did nothing different on my 10 to the 8.
And tbh I'm happy with the bar.
Model is the EU version NE 2213

That's valid, then you must check Internet connection to the App, it needs it for one time configuration!
I have 5G and internet where I'm at. I've rebooted phone and still no go. Sorry
