Installation instructions
Installing Mahdi-Rom for the first time, or coming from another ROM:
-Make sure you are on a JellyBean Baseband [V20 By Szymel00 ]
- Make sure you're running a proper working ClockworkMod-Recovery [CWM_6.0.4.9_P705] , [CWM_6.0.4.9_P705] and [CWM_6.0.4.9_P705]
- Copy GApps and ROM ZIP to your SDCard
- Boot into Recovery
- Flash Mahdi-Rom zip from SDCard
- Flash GApps zip from SDCard
- DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (otherwise your device will be stuck at boot)
- Reboot
- Don't restore system data using Titanium Backup!
Upgrading from an earlier version:
- Copy the ROM ZIP to your SDCard
- Boot into Recovery
- Flash the ROM zip from SDCard
- Reboot

-Black patches appear sometimes on the stock browser(WebviewChromium issues, this is a webkit device but the rom doesn't support webkit).Use third party browsers. This affects BBM too.
-When you dissable Hardware Buttons in settings you get a FC message but the settigns restart just fine.
-Low recording volume.
-Screen Recording not working(working on it!)
-Sometimes baseband version dissapers.

This rom has a lot of features and I may not have been able to enable all! If you search for a feature in settings but is not availabe in the ROM, please report it. It took me a while to find things like " Prevent accidental wake-up".

Hello! I'm very thankful for you work, it's really awesome, but there are some bugs that are actually really improtant.
After disconnecting my headphones the phone doesn't make any sound any more (can't listen to music, watch videos and even talk). The only way to fix it is to reboot the phone. This is probably the worst bug so far.
When I play music by connecting to my bluetooth speakers it always glitches although my phone is just right nearby. I didn't have such problem before.
When I make the music louder the sound is really in poor quality, sounds like it's old speakers playing. And I've installed standart drivers for ViPER FX
Also now videos glitch too. When I skip it a little a bit the sound is playing but the picture doesn't move and I have to wait few second till the sound and the picture got synchronised.
All the games run slower. Even Flappy Bird.
musiXmatch always crushes when I open it.
I also have some suggestions for you: 1) Make it possible to swipe menu from the last screen to the first one. Same with the desktop. 1) Make it possible to create folders in menu.

Hi guys! I have 2.7-p705-20140907 on my device and it's very nice. ROM 20140914(16,22) can't finish boot and i get blue screen (update or clean install). My CPU work at 1150MHz max. Is MAX freq. default settings in new ROM set more than 1150MHz? What about future updates, would default MAX freq. higher than 1150MHz? Thanks.

Don't have problem with the latest build, working fine here. Just do a full wipe.
And also, if you can post on the original development post there. You can read previous posts as reference.

It's my second post on XDA, i haven't permission to developers treads
Full wipe doesn't help for my device. 1150MHz - max stable freq. other forums tells that default freq is 1228MHz at first boot (20140922 ROM). Is it right? I tryed init.d scripts like

Yup, its goes to max freq. That's default.
Did you try to mount the System and format after do a factory reset?
Or maybe you try to manually mount system and format..
This steps is what I do when I switch roms. And I don't have any problem.
BTW, what recovery are you using?

I do full format:
1) wipe data/factory reset
2) wipe cache
3) wipe dalvik cache
4) format cache (i'm sure it's not nessesary)
5) format system
6) format data
7) format sdcard
8) fomat data and data/media

Don't need to format sdcard.
Does it install and not successfully?
1228 is not stable, I normally go down to 1200 after successfully boot.

Install process complete without errors, but boot doesn't finish (blue screen few seconds afler start optimazing apps) . I always set max freq <= 1150, but mahdi doesn't give any chance...

It won't work because cpu freq. is too high for my device. It's realy funny, but i find the way to complete boot process... Good old overclocker's friend - low temperature. Just few minutes in freezing chamber and boot complete without any problems. But all performance setting can't help me outside freezing chamber, next reboot crashes before i see lockscreen.
Unfortunately, i can't use MAHDI since 20140916 build, seems boot process goes at max cpu freq (1228MHz) and performance settings and init.d scripts applied after. Thanks for help and answers.

Please, fix!
Will you fix that bag when after disconnetcting headphones the phone doesn't make any sound at all (I can't even dial). The only way to fix it know - to reboot the phone. But I think it should be fixed first of all by you. :\

I go down to 1200 because 1228 isn't stable. I have the last versión: final 2.9

- If you have video playback problems go to settings>developer options and turn on "disable hw overlays"-

If you get bootloop follow these instructions
1. Install stock ROM by flashing via odin
2.reboot
3. Root
4. Flash Recovery (TWRP 2.8+)
5. Wipe syste/data/cache/dalvik
6. Flash ROM
7. Flash Gapps
8. (Optional)Flash SuperSU
9.Wipe cache and Dalvik
10. Reboot now enjoy your lollipop without any bootloops

first of all, big battery drains on lollipop because lollipop is still alpha. if you still want to use then;
- a bit laggy but not really much. its because lollipop is still alpha not even beta
- at the first run the rom will start slowly because of ART. just give some time to your phone.
- theres no bugs left except cm12 bugs. on v2.5.4. everythings work now like messaging or camera etc. .
for who hasnt get notifications, try this:
1-)clear data and cache and then delete apps which you want to receive notifications
2-) install them back. also make sure you dont restore your app with titanium backup. it makes some problem because of different systems. just delete your app and download it via google play again or install apk. DONT RESTORE datas from titanium backup if you want to get your notifications. (dont restore datas on which app will you send notification-like twitter,facebook,ask.fm,snapchat,tapatalk etc.)
this will work i think.
sometimes you will face with "cant connect to the camera" issue. its a cm bug. with this app you dont need to reboot your phone anymore.
just open it
-press run fix button
-give root access
-done! your camera works again

To turn off hard key lights:
"su
echo 1 > /sys/class/sec/sec_touchkey/force_disable"
Put it in a text file without " and then name it anything.sh (make sure .txt extension is not there), put this file in etc/init.d and set permission rwx-rx-rx. Done.

Did you do a clean flash?
Can you grab me a log?

Ok guys if you get a bootloop theres 3 options you can try
1)Clean flash again
2)Use twrp to flash
3)If all else fails ,flash stock 4.3 via odin,root it and flash this rom again using twrp 2.8.I strongly recommend twrp over cwm
I personally recommend option 3.safest one .look here as well
A lot of users have reported bootloops in the cm12 thread .i dont know why its happening and it happens to some people only

i dont think its a bootloop. just give the rom some time. it needs like 5-7 mins to up! awesome rom bro thank you! also pin lock working for me o,o thats weird. only signal bar bug you know it shows only same. i dont apply patch yet. should i? also how can i take a screenshot?

I know that ART needs more time than Dalvik on a fresh boot, but after the phone restarts (Galaxy SIII boot image) I know that's a bootloop.
Dev, I'll try odin and stock reflash and stuff. Step 1 and 2 didn't work.

i just flashed the latest version of this rom and its great the only problems i have are titanium backup keeps getting stuck when trying to restore apps it gets stuck on a lot of different apps this is a big problem to me as i cannot get my apps and settings back easily has anyone experienced this or does anyone know a workaround ? I have already flashed the latest version of SuperSU and granted root access to TB so its not a root problem the problem is only on the batch restore apps function of TB it just keeps getting stuck on restoring certain apps.
i came from fusion rom to this rom as fusion was quite buggy for me and this seems much better apart from the restoring apps problem
Could possibly be something to do with android lollipop 505 error something to do with apps with same permissions wont install, also contacts are always displayed with last name first regardless of settings so i have to use ex dialler instead again is there a fix ?

is it aosp based or CM? does app ops work on this? thanks.

Did you perform a clean install??. And for backing up ur app data, ill recommend using Helium backup. or back up using recovery & restore after flashing new rom. Always works for me :good:

Yep clean install wiped everything with TWRP, then installed the rom everything else seems to work fine its literally just the dialler wont save first name first no matter how many times i try to set it it will always display last name first for example;
If i go on dialler then settings, its already set to first name first so then i go out of settings and the dialer shows first name first but when you close dialler and re open and its all back to last name first again! this stays until you open settings and see that actually its set for first name first, but then when you go off settings back to the dialler, you see that they are now arranged with first name first but only until you close the dialler again!
So its like it only saves the setting while you have the dialer open then when you close it settings are lost.

Hey nice seeing new rom appearing! Can't wait to get back home and try this ...
EDIT: First impression is very awesome! Very Smooth.. Multirom booting works like a charm too.
The camera provided with the rom is kinda buggy (crazy refocusing when half press of the shutter button)

Two questions.. Pin code entry numbers are strange because of security?
And it seems min clock is limited on 1457mhz. Is this a m5kernel v4 bug or ROM related?
i'm on stock based Moonwalker 4.4.4 as main rom with Multirom.

Just change the min clock speed. I was able to do so. Same kernel
EDIT: Some small bugs to report
1.
The quick setting screen doesn't change colour no matter what theme I set. Not sure is it due to a modified framework of the rom.
2. Unable to change the "user picture" that appears on the top right of the status bar.

I remember that on that build, you had to factory reset for the themes(*the quick settings panel to be coloured) to work (factory reset once to get it working).
Maybe it's the same case here?

Hmm themes work for you? I factory reset once before as I forgot to flash the gapps..

No this is ROM specific only, but it was in a very old update in my device, it was fixed then!n I don't get it in my device now, idk y u guys getting it, let's see in the next update

EDIT: Ambient display not working properly on lift. The screen just turn dark(turns on but the screen is black).
Anyway I found this appearing very frequently in logcat(not related to the ambient display I think):

I havent got much experience but I figured hey what the heck i'll give it a go!
I've only tried existenz by niaboc(?) earlier so I don't have much to compare with. The ROM seems solid so far (been running a few hours), unlocking bootloader, installing the rom, gapps and kernel (m5) went smooth.

Samsung S health and gear manager only work on samsung based roms, unless they have been ported. So, no, they'll not work here.

@gmenelau I don't have a Gear Fit to test those apps, sorry.
Back to ROM, clear install, fully wiped, installed Gapps from Aroma installer and got a bootloop. It's strange.
Second try, clear install again with full wipe, now without the Gapps and have a bootloop too
I don't think so it's my fault. Every previous ROM I have tried works normally, it's first time with bootloop.

Works fine here. Try another pa gapps. I'm running Euphoria + PA Gapps + Boeffla and all works fine

after flashing rom,flash boeffla kernel alpha11 and see if it will boot? it could be stock kernel issue

yes it should work without gapps too! also try what i suggested,flash rom then flash boeffla alpha 11 and boot the phone

I just clear flashed the ROM with LP Gapps (PA Gapps with AROMA) and then flashed the Boeffla kernel how u suggested and it's works now, but... Wi-Fi can't start :/ Everything else working so far

so the issue is stock kernel that is not booting rom then,abouth wifi issues u will have to talk with @Gokulbalram since he also uses boeffla kernel and it works for him.
try restarting phone one more time with wifi turned on and see,if not then **** hhh

Nothing as such lol. Stock kernel works fine, you can test it for yourself. Anyway, I have high suspicion on the gapps package he is using.

ok then my bad,sorry :fingers-crossed: still he has issues with wifi not working while on latest boeffla?
i would flash it but last few days i flashed i bit to' much so i need a bit of rest with my phone :laugh:
and can post few screen shots? it would be nice

I can't agree with that suspicion, coz:
1. Those are just PA Gapps but with AROMA installer
2. They works on every ROM I have been using on 5.0.X
So should work here as well.
