All of us know what is the worst thing in our phone. It is a low capacity of RAM. And of course, there is no RAM expander app which can enlarge your RAM from 512MB to 2GB.
Now I am going to show you how to free your RAM with no bad impact on your system stability.
All Users:
In Google Play Store there is an app which allows you to disable various services of system or third-party apps. Its name is My Android Tools. Developed by WangQi. In this app you can disable services which are running in the background and are occupying your RAM and even more.
Also I found out that this app may cause BOOTLOOPs and the only way to get rid of BOOTLOOPs is factory reset. But if you are an enthusiast of this app, you can try disabling all of the Google Play Services. :cyclops: You shall see. :cyclops:
Which services have I disabled?
Code:
[I]Note: Services marked as " *xyz* " are safe to disable. [/I]
com.android.smspush:
-*WapPushManager*
Google Play Services:
-*AdRequestBrokerService*
-*AdvertisingIdService*
-*AnalyticsService*
-*DeviceConnectionServiceProvider*
-*DispatchingService*
-FusedLocationService
-FusedProviderService
-*GcmService*
-*GeocodeService*
-GeofenceProviderService
-*GoogleHttpService*
-*GoogleLocationManagerService*
-*GoogleLocationService*
-*LocationWearableListenerService*
-NetworkLocationService
-*NlpLocationReceiverService*
-*ProxyGTalkService*
-*SyncService*
-*SystemUpdateService*
-*WearableService*
Google Play Store:
-*ContentSyncService*
-*DailyHygiene*
-*InAppBillingService*
-*MarkedBillingService*
Google Services Framework:
-*EventLogService*
-*CheckinService*
-SystemUpdateService
Messaging:
-*TransactionService*
-Network Location:
-*NetworkLocationService*
SIM Tool Kit:
-*StkAppService*
All of the *Voice+* services.
Which receivers have I disabled?
Code:
Google Play Services:
-AccountsChangedReceiver
-CheckinService$ActiveReceiver
-ConnectivityReceiver
-GServicesChangedReceiver
-PowerConnectedReceiver
-SystemUpdateService$ActiveReceiver
-SystemUpdateService$Receiver
Disabling the Google Play services may cause huge battery draining. Be careful with it. I am not responsible for any potential damage to your device.
Anyway, there is always an option to enable services which were already disabled. I have not written all of the services which can be disabled! With this app I have freed almost 35MB of RAM.
And if you want to know which services or processes are persistently causing wakelocks, the best app I have found is Wakelock Detector-Save Battery. It is developed by UzumApps and you can Download it from the Google Play Store. With this app you can see particular name of service which is consistently waking your device and preventing it from deep sleep. And if you know the name of that nasty service you can disable it by My Android Tools app. Isn´t that simple?
Conclusion
There is no need for RAMHack versions of kernel because you will have enough free RAM to switch between two or three running apps. As a daily-driver I can see big imrovements in Graphic. Because that 32MB of RAM did not come from heaven. You can record 720p videos or play "heavy" games without any annoying lags. That is my point of view.

Personal recommendations
I have been testing custom ROMs for a quite long time. In my opinion, the best stable and reliable custom ROM for our old device is CM10 Look Ma! No Hands! by pengus77. I know that it is old JellyBean Android 4.1 but we have to admit that our device was not made for Android 4.4 Kitkat. When I came to this ROM I was pretty shocked of its amazing performance and fluency. I have not seen any bugs or huge lags like in the latest CM11 ROMS yet. I understood why they call pengus77 master. So I would recommend you this ROM.
You can download this ROM from this post - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49850599&postcount=3775
Also see this post which is really helpful - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54626701&postcount=3790
Do not install heavy apps such as Facebook or Google Chrome. They are not developed primarily to our device since 2013. Disable or unninstall all system apps which are useless. For example default Email, Google Search, Google TTS, Pico TTS, Sound Recorder, Talk/Hangouts, TalkBack, Voice dialler, default launchers and many many more. Instead of default launcher use Nova launcher. Minimize number of widgets on your desktop because they have got running services in the background.
Small advice :
Do not use taskers or "Clean Masters"! Android’s operating system has its own native handler for assigning RAM to apps and making sure that all of it is being used in the most optimal way. In fact, Android purposely tries to keep apps loaded into RAM for better performance.
+CM11 and SlimKat users:
Did you know that in CM11 and latest SlimKat 9.0 there is a feature called Privacy Guard?
With this feature you can simply and easily take control of your apps. You can decide which permissions have to be denied for individual apps.
Go to > Settings > Privacy > Privacy Guard – you will see your apps listed – tap the shield to enable/disable an app* (In SlimKat ROM, Go to > Settings > Security > Privacy Guard)
Check the > Settings menu for the option to reveal native apps
Usage stats – long press an app > options page will show detailed breakdown of each apps permissions. You can control these individually. More important for me is the app option that allows you to see the last time that permission was requested
Most if not all apps permissions will automatically be set to “Allowed”. You can control for example whether an app has access to your location data – if so you can set to “Denied”. For example, in Google Play Services I have denied Location,Wake up and Keep awake.
Once you’ve done the above, you can go back to the main list of apps and tap > Advanced button in > Settings. You will now see a category view which is useful to look through groups of apps with similar problems
Be aware of Auto-Start permission requests in “Bootup”. These are apps that will use your battery and monitor Wake up – useful to keep an eye on!
We should acknowledge that our device is too old and it has got no future. But when God will send to us stable Kitkat ROM and Kernel it will be amazing.

Hello,
I had latest CM11 by tonyp, I think that it was cm-11-20150218-m1-p990. But then I got bootloop (caused by Disable Service app ). After that I decided to flash latest SlimKat 9.0 for p990. IMHO, the best Kitkat based ROM available yet. And then I tried to remove system apps with built-in app. Reboot. Stucked on LG logo. F*cked again.
Then I repaired my phone with AIO toolkit and finally I have just flashed CM10 Look Ma! on my device.
Haha The epic story XD
Its time to change that old device LIKE 2 Years ago GT540. I think i buy a Xperia Z1 compact
Tell me how you do the 200 mb ram free , I disabled everything and have only 170-160 free ;(

Hello,
I disabled all of the services which are already written in main post. Also I do not install many apps on my device so it does look fresh and cleanly. Installed apps are cached in RAM and this might be just one of the reasons why you cannot reach such high values of free RAM as I have recently had.
EDIT 1: I think that if you have got 160MB free of RAM, it is everything alright. Do not experiment too much!
Big performance and memory boost (+30-40MB) makes just freezing the Google Play Services (you can do it even with Performance Control only).
On the other hand you will lose various features and various apps (or its features) will stop working - but you will be notified about it with dialog "Application requires Google Play Services, activate it." or something similar. By disabling only some services I think you will not get notified about that and you might be in false impression that everything works okay. Some features that depends on Play services are: Google cloud messaging (push notifications), saving app data in cloud, some synchronizations, google login in apps,...
Also I freeze these apps (just for inspiration - they are safe to disable for me as I don't use them): Cell Broadcasts, Voice Dialer, Themes Chooser and Themes Provider, Print Spooler, Exchange Services, DSP Manager, Voice+, WhisperPush

Hello guys I am here today to give a possible aspect to get rid of laggyness caused by severe RAM usage by our "Left-Behind" phone S5830i.
First of all I'd like to mention the script by Hitesh2626...It helped me a lot to remove unwanted applications from my stock rom. But then after I saw I still was having lags though I had all small apps unlike Messenger and Whatsapp. And the reason was "Google Play Services" which took 39 mb of my RAM though all google services were unchecked by me.I know many people having the same problem. Then here's the solution:
Just go to play store and download "Disable Services" and give root rights
now open it and from the list select google play services
u'll see 99 services there -_-
just deselect the running ones(those will be in blue fonts) just like:gcmservices or nlplocationservice
Here you go...after deleselcting they'll become red and they'll never run anymore but still u'll be able to use other google play services without uninstalling it.
I am new to the xda so help me giving thanks ....IF MY HELP REALLY HELPED YOU

Here are some of my suggestion's
1) Remove all bloatware
2) Remove all ringtone's and whatever tone's ...leave only ringtone .
3) Delete all battery.qmg in media folder and also delete spamsung's bootanimation .
4) flash a custom kernel
5) flash Adrenaline engine and cosmic engine
Feel the smoothness ..and yeah .! question should be asked in Q&A not in general section.
I wouldn't recommend you stopping any of the GPlay Services. They are there for some reason. And the reason GPlay Services is using much RAM is that other apps use these services. So if you disable them some apps will not work as expected.
Then how cm 7 or other cm roms dosen't require G-apps install for their working???

Because you can still run apps without GApps? Android does still work without GApps.

Bro, Google Play Services not only provides location services but also updates Google apps and apps from Google Play, provides core functionalities like authentication to your Google services, synchronised contacts and access to all the latest user privacy settings, speeds up offline searches, provides more immersive maps and improves gaming experiences.. So I completely agree with @Android-fany on the fact that disabling them can make certain Google apps crash or not work as expected. You might be able to save your battery life but at the cost of some core apps.

Frankly, I have very low ram consumption on my Stock rom even with Google Play Services turned on. So I don't think there is any need for me to disable it considering how often I use these services. BTW this will surely affect those people who needs to use location services, Google play gaming platform, etc. But then again, you can always enable these services when you need them. I'm glad to hear everything works smooth. You know you learn something new everyday
After a fresh install, i experienced massive battery drain (50%+ over night).
the culprit was google service, easily identified in the battery overview.
It prevents the phone from going to sleep mode.
i searched for the problem and found
http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/...ce-wakelock-on-cm11-m7-massive-battery-drain/
"it's a new ota update service that was added in a recent Google Play Services update."
Solution:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53739230&postcount=5031
quote:
Finally I was able to block the SystemUpdateService wakelock, using this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rs.autorun (Autorun Manager)
go to settings, enable the option to show system entries
(refresh services)
find google play services and disable:
SystemUpdateService$Receiver
SystemUpdateService$ActiveReceiver
SystemUpdateService$SecretCodeReceiver
done... no more wakelock and it didn't break anything, syncs all work ok
I know this app doesn't look the best, but I tried others like "Android Tuner Free", "Disable Services", "Gemini App Manager", etc, but they allowed me to only disable the main service and didn't show the other receivers that had to be disabled.
Click to collapse
One thing to add: If you clicked too much in Autorun Manager, it stops working and says "only changing of 10 entries allowed in the free version".
I wont give tipps to bypass this behaviour, so first think, then click.
the app can reset your services status from the menu, if you misclicked.
well, im not sure if this worked out well..
after 6 hrs, still google service takes a huge chunk of my battery. will report tomorrow.
installed latest nightly over this one, flashed google apps zip again, did not wipe anything, did not deactivate any google apps nor services, problem gone.
[size=+3]Discontinued; it is better to completely remove Google Play apps instead of disabling per app services.[/size]
I've been using Yalp Store (+FDroid's UnifiedNLP for location services) for downloading official google play apps.
Use this: https://opengapps.org/
I have this N910C and I've rooted it to achieve battery over performance because I mainly use it for Internet Browsing and Calls/Text.
Mostly for Google Play Services.
Well it's for more battery life and I don't even use much google apps.
And of course... You need to disable the receivers using SD Maid or whatever app to stop it from reactivating or doing unnecessary wakelocks..
I am still updating this thread because I am still disabling/enabling service from Google Play Services for optimal battery use.
- I don't sync anything to my Google Account upon using the list below, even my contacts.
- The list below is strictly connected to this thread.
So here's a list of my disabled services, take note that I've frozen most of the bloatware/system apps that I do not use.
For the Google Play Services, all Google Play Services' receivers are disabled using SD Maid.

Note
The tests that made were:
1- Login normally via Accounts using my Google Account
2- Sync things; open Store, open Google Service, sync Data
3- Reboot
4- Disable Services
5- Do #2, check for *Google Services has stopped* thing
6- undo if error shown
7- Do #4 again then #5 and #6
8- clean up with SD Maid, do #3
9- do #6
10- Log-out Google Account
- repeat until until satisfied, just don't ever forget to check (it might enable) and disable Google Play Services receivers
I will continue to update this thread whenever I got to disable things
Please remember that I sync manually and I don't use any other Google apps (like the maps), only the damn Google Play Store!
So disable at your own preference
Can you upload backup form this disabled services?
Thank bro

Oh, not yet.
The list above is still breaking the Google Play Store when the Services and Store's data are cleared.
I'll do tests first before uploading.

Waiting for your upload!!!

Great post,
You know wich service uses whatsapp for receive messages? Im having problems only with this apps, if i disable google services completely after a few minutes i stop receiving whatsapps
Maybe the google clous service (gcm) is related to this?

anybody know which service for google play protect? get notifications since few days even i have disabled in settings
Idol 4 6055u hidden update last week and File Manager is now like a 'Clean Master' clone with all the clean-your-phone and boost-your-phone notifications spam. And since there's no way to root it the app is not removable.
Anyone had any luck stabbing this one to death?
Sucks right? Mentioned it in a thread I made a few weeks back:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/idol-4s/help/alcatel-phone-t3634870
If possible, uninstalling updates or disabling the app should revert the app to its pre-spam state. If not, disabling the apps and using a less invasive file manager app is an option.
Alternatively a factory reset will return all system apps to their pre-spammy state if I recall correctly. From there, you can just avoid updating that individual app.

Unfortunately you can't disable the app, even though it appears you can under dev options (tried that, it just updates itself in the background again). Have tried uninstalling (updates) but it updates itself again and the spam reappears. It also places a perma-notification (can't slide off) at the top of the notifications.
BUT: The latest update to File Manager allows you to turn off notifications. Problem solved.
NOTE: You do have to give permissions for storage before you can get into the settings that allow turning off notifications/shortcuts.
This is well-known problem, ads presents in all latest preinstalled Acatel's apps updates: File Manager, Sound Recorder, Weather, Launcher and others. All of them puts notifications with spam-news and in some cases tries to change default homepage of Google Chrome browser. To prevent this need to do the following things:
1. Uninstall all updates of these apps to revert it to stock-state.
2. Deny auto update of these apps in Google Play.
3. Deny auto update of system apps in standart Update application.

Thanks, following these steps I think I got them tamed. Not all the apps show up in Google Play but disabling auto-update in 'Updates' (Alcatel's version) should take care of those...

Several of Alcatel's Apps updates throught Google Play and other via Updates app. For example, sound recorder updates via Google Play. If it's already updated - just remove updates and Google Play app for Sound Recorder and forbid / deny future updates. In 'Updates' need to forbid updates of system apps too. I already done all of this steps for each preinstalled app which tries to update - all fine. There is no any unwanted push notifications.
Rip ._. I hate this phone so much.
They are pathetic. Updating all apps and adding ads to them.

Thanks for the tips and detailed info @DeckerSU. I had begun to prepare to unlock, root, and flash a custom ROM due to this adware and push notification nonsense. Up until the recent app updates, I had truly enjoyed the clean, stock android UI experience on my idol3 ... now I can relax again, the aggravation of those push notifications is gone!

thank you, I hadn't thought of step 3
I signed in just to thank you
edit: just realized this thread is for idol 4s, but it applied to my idol 3..
I didn't realize this is a problem on later phones.. so messed up
Very bad, all those spamming programs on a phone we paid for. They beter come out with a recent
Android update. Its a Shame for the alcatel brand.

Thanks for the tips! I was starting to think I would have to root the device... Very dissapointing to see this kind of behaviour from Alcatel
Cheers
It may be worse than you think!
It's bad enough for a SYSTEM app to be serving up potentially malicious advertising that could Pwn your device, but it ventures deep into dark waters if that SYSTEM app has the Facebook "Graph" API inside of it that could allow a developer (or in this case your Chinese phone manufacturer) to use your Facebook access token to pillage through your Facebook account and look through your photos, tags, pages visited, URL's, or even create Facebook posts or messages on your behalf!
Sound crazy?
Take a look at the Facebook "Graph" developer site for yourself:
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/using-graph-api/
And if someone was familiar with some open source tools that could allow them to look inside an Android app:
https://github.com/iBotPeaches/Apktool
https://github.com/pxb1988/dex2jar
https://github.com/sreenivasmula/JDGUI
http://www.7-zip.org/download.html
That person might look to see if the app has the Facebook Graph API inside of it:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrdcom.filemanager&hl=en
Any one have a custom rom? Like Lineage or CM or AOSP any other one except the crapy stock rom?
Not good enough!
I no longer trust ANYTHING that is installed on my Alcatel device after the recent adware/spyware "upgrades"!
I installed TWRP and the (unofficial) Lineage ROM until I get a different phone all together.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/id...ficial-lineageos-14-1-idol36045x-5-5-t3615700
I will NEVER purchase another Alcatel device as long as I live and I will advise all my friends and family and anyone else that will listen to avoid Alcatel as well.
I also suggest that anyone with a stock Alcatel device not to use any "widgets" that create shortcuts that may use your access tokens for Facebook and/or Twitter until we know what is going on.
The Facebook Graph API on a native app has a greater access level than a web application and the token(s) don't expire for 60 days and can be extended.
I advise people to avoid logging in to apps or websites with their social media and/or Google credentials and to change your passwords and set up 2 factor authentication and remove any apps associated with your social media accounts.
Wtf

The update may have come the Google Play Store but is every bit Alcatel!
The "boost" function comes from TCL (Alcatel) owned Hawk app's "Super Cleaner" and the antivirus function comes from Hawk's Hi Security app that uses McAfee technology.

Can you help me to unlock a sharp phone?
I have the modem.elf file.
Following the advice on this thread, I was able to revert to the old versions of these apps back in October, and my phone stayed usable from then until about 2 weeks ago. Suddenly, the "updates" installed themselves (as part of a "critical system update" that I was notified my phone needed, and now, I don't have the option to uninstall the updates (or rather, it uninstalls to another spammy, bloatware version, not to the factory original).
Any ideas on what I can do now? Or is it time to throw this phone in the trash, and get one from a company that doesn't do this?
critical system update

You have got to be kidding me!
Now Alcatel and McAfee are tricking users into installing their adware/spyware through the use of fake "critical update" patches?
I think it is high time to do a complete breakdown/inspection of the app and do a full public disclosure.
It isn't surprising that Alcatel would infect a users phone with adware/spyware but for a so-called "security" company like McAfee to be involved is both frightening and disturbing.
I recently found some hidden google apps on my Zenfone 8 that I had not heard about before...
Settings > Apps & notifications > See all apps > click 3 dots upper right corner of screen "Show system".....
I uninstalled these that I don't have a use for:
Companion Device Manager
Basic Daydreams
Google Assistant
Syndor Flipfont
And I force stopped many other apps (that could not be uninstalled) that I didn't see a use for.
There were other apps that I disabled wi-fi and mobile connections to.
I also use Netguard to control which apps have internet and mobile access. However Netguard shows vastly more system apps that I have no idea what they do - I leave these alone. It the moment I'm only trying to reduce the amount of surveillance built into a normal android phone.
I haven't heard of a published an up-to-date rundown of system apps that have no business sending data out of the phone? I know you can just disable all data out connections using Netguard and then spend the rest of your life figuring out which ones to enable to get a useable phone. Perhaps such a list is impractical as it may have to be tailored to each phone and OS? But there might be system apps common to recent android systems that could have the wi-fi and mobile data disabled?
Anything would help if I didn't have to fiddle around so much. The alternative is a degoogled phone. Many google play apps can work on these but there are several important ones I use that don't work and so far I have found no viable open source apps to replace them.

Maybe the apps that are not available are accessible as a web app? I personally never encountered an app that does not work on Lineage and OmniRom (currently on onmirom). Maybe thats because of MicroG. A bonus to roms is better battery life, I think thank to MicroG

Can you use Waze and google translate? I've tried the open source alternative to Waze but in the country I'm living in it's too clunky to use. I haven't found an open source alternative to translate (that can scan documents and items in the supermarket, translate them and do all the other things. I might buy a degoogled phone in the future as I don't want to get into the technicalities.
