Hello. Im new here.
I wanted to root my xperia sp via this video:
Code:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYwIWy_mzNw
But i did not wanted to unlock bootloader becouse of some error that happened during unlocking it (cant solve it). So i found rooting tutorial without unlocked bootloader. I did everything what was in video, now i have custom recovery TWRP and clockworkmod.
Also i have SuperSU and Xposed installer on my phone and some of my default apps are missing.
But here's a problem. Basically i don't have root. All of root checkers are saying that i havent got root and root apps dont work.
Also SuperSU is saying "there is no SU binary installed, and superSU cannot install it , this is a problem. if you just upgraded to android 4.3 , you need to manually re-root-consult the relevant forums for your device"
What should i do if i want to root my device properly ? Can anyone give me step by step tutorial or something so i cant brick my phone ? (Im really scared of bricking )
Hope you can help me
If you have recoveries installed then just flash superuser zip thats all http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu
I rooted with towel root and it works great...im usin. 207 AU firmware.. And i also found a somthing named rebootfix to use via pc after using towel root... Search and u can find it.. Gd luck bro..

Hi
I have a moto x with the bootloader unlocked and stock kernel with TWRP. Everything else is stock android 4.4 from T-Mobile.
I followed this thread to root the phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2536200 "[HOW-TO][DEV EDITION ONLY]Root on 4.4 KitKat"
Everything went fine and I had root acces. I installed xposed framework and some moddueles without problem and cerberus but when I tried to install greenify I noticed I couldn't give it root permissions. I checked super su's app and everything seemed normal so I downloaded Root Checker to confirm I'm rooted but it says I'm not.
Knowing that I lost root (can't figure out why) I went to super su app and selected to unroot the device. Then I booted into recovery and flashed again the root zip but when checking again if I have root privileges with root checker, it still says no.
Now I can't get root again. I'd like to avoid using fastboot because I'm using linux (I'm a noob with bootloaders and fastboot because I got spoiled by Samsung).
Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance :fingers-crossed:
I forgot to mention that I did a backup before I rooted the device the first time in case that helps.
Nevermind. I fixed it.
So guys first I appreciate any one gonna help me
I have Xperia z c6603 4.4.4 android
I wanted to root my phone and I tried in every possible way but every time it fails
So I found a solution
P.s I don't have Internet connection for my pc
1-install super su and don't open it
2-flash old kernel so you can root
3-root your device (( in this step I tried rooting by flashtool and it did work but in the log it says root done.. rebooting device.. So I waited for 3 minutes but my phone didn't restart so i did it manually))
4-flash your. 283 kernel
5- upgrade supersu binaries so root is done
In step 4 I didn't find supersu (( which I've installed before)) but I found superuser app instead and I can't upgrade binaries or unroot or any thing. This app is useless
So i want to delete it and full root my device because in flashtool it says my phone is rooted but when I install any app for rooted devices only it says my phone is not rooted
I think maybe if I flashed an official 4.4.4 rom every thing will be normal again but I have a question. If I flashed a rom does that mean that I will unlock bootloader cause I don't want to unlock so i don't lose my be2 and drm keys
And I can't do ta raw backup (( to save be2 and drm keys)) unless I root my device
Please help me and sorry for my bad english

I've solved the proplem
First I flashed the old kernel
Then rooted successfully by towelroot (( instead of flashtool ))
And finally flashed the . 283 kernel
But I need to know if I flashed a rom does that means unlocking bootloader?
Or is it can't be to flash rom without unlocking bootloader?

As long as it has a stock kernel you do not need to unlock your bootloader. Any aosp based rom will need an unlocked bootloader (cyanogenmod, omnirom etc)
I've done every thing and made a nandroid backup and installed existen z 3.0.0 rom and it works very well but i dont have mobile bravia engine 2 and i dont know if the bootloader is unlocked or not.. And thanks very much for your help i really appreciate it
Hello
I've been trying to install Cyanogenmod on my Xperia T.
However, I need recovery (CWM) to do so, which requires root acces.
I've been able to unlock bootloader but rooting isn't a succes.
I tried all the root functions in flashtool, and some others but nothing works.
So, is it safe to downgrade my firmware from 4.3 to 4.1.2 with flashtool, root that version, and then install recovery/cyanogen?
Thanks!

Yes it is safe. You can install any custom rom from any stock firmware (unless it states in the description that you need a certain firmware).
Btw: did you try towelroot? I believe it should work on 4.3

Allright, just wanted to be sure!
I've tried towelroot but it kept rebooting, even on 4.1.2.
But I've been able to flash CM on my xperia a couple of minutes ago without problems (apparently it came with its own recovery menu).
Developer tools had a root option and that luckily worked.
Thanks for the help :good:
Hello all,
Im totally confused as to how to go about rooting my device c6902. Ive owned a couple of android devices and Ive rooted them all, however....with this device and there seem to be different ways people have rooted from reading the threads and im totally confused, So far I have unlocked the bootloader, and upgraded the device OTA to lollipop .242 (before the bootloader was unlocked), I dont intend installing any custom firmware, just want root so I can use TB and maybe delete a few bloatwares with root explorer and use xposed.
Im confused as to whether:
1. I have to downgrade firmware to kitkat, just to get root, then upgrade back to official firmware?
2. Ive been under the impression that a custom recovery and supersu, is enough to get root. It doesnt work that way on this device?
3. I saw some oneclick root programs that worked on the z1 compact would any work here
Just trying to know more about the phone and understand, so any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Using the guide on the link I just posted, you are not required to unlock the bootloader, unlocking the bootloader without backing up the TA partition can cause problems with your phone.
You need to downgrade to KitKat 4.4.4 with kernel 108, then root it with easyroot install supersu and rootchecker to make sure your phone is rooted, the use NUTs recovery to create a recovery partition, after that search XDA forums for a pre-rooted lollipop flashable zip and install that, and voila you should be on lollipop with root and recovery.
I am not sure about one-click root programs.

I already unlocked the bootloader though. Do I need to downgrade the whole kitkat rom or flash just the kernel? thanks
Figured out. Thanks
How can Root Xperia Z1 C6902 Lollipop 5.1.1 without pre-rooted rom. Is there other methods to root my Xperia Z1 C6902 Lollipop 5.1.1 . My xperia is installed with orginal Lollipop 5.1.1 stock rom. I want to root it. But i don't need Pre-rooted Rom, is there any method for rooting it. And also i don't want to downgrade it for rooting.
wait till kingroot
either unlock your bootloader or wait for a exploit
I really hope not.
Every Android version has a root exploit, that is a nightmare for security, this has to stop...
just my 2cents, in general you should be glad if there is none
Are you sure you have access to /system ?
Kingroot is not compatible with z1 5.1.1 yet

No there isn't. towelroot is super old and doesn't work with 5.1.1, and there is no one-click method for 5.1.1 on the Z1. Only pre-rooted flashable zips are working right now.
Please don't give advice if you don't actually know what you're talking about ...
@ubrider you don't need to be rude - I suggest you delete your comment for your own sake.
As of the moment, there are no known 1-click root process for Xperia Z1 running 5.1.1 Lollipop. You can however downgrade your phone to Kitkat by flashing a Kitkat FTF using Flashtool. You can also downgrade to 5.0.2 and root it using Kingroot which is a 1-click rooting process. Once you have gained root access you can replace Kingroot with SuperSU if you want, install a custom recovery then install a pre-rooted 5.1.1
@ubrider, If you have solid proof that there really is an existing 1-click root process for our Xperia Z1 running 5.1.1., please share it to the community. This is what I get: https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=Sony+Xperia+Z1+5.1.1+root
Please, stay on topic. If you don't have anything constructive or polite to contribute, do not post. If you have a problem with another user, please ignore them, use the report button and allow the moderators to handle it, or deal with it yourselves via private message.
You can create your own pre-rooted 5.1.1 firmware with prf creator, from yours ftf. Then flash back to 5.0.2 without wiping data root with any oneclickroot solution that suits you and have a superuser or supersu.
And install xzdualrecovery. Then flash your pre-rooted firmware w/o wiping data.
This way you won't lose your apps data and won't need to unlock bootloader.
That was what I did installed xposed etc. No problems faced.
Or you can wait till kingroot updates it's all up to you
Finally the one click method is here.....
